About Us

The Step2® Company, LLC, headquartered in Streetsboro, Ohio, is the largest American manufacturer of preschool and toddler toys and the world's largest rotational molder of plastics.

Mission

To be the leading innovator of children's products that build imaginations and enrich the family's celebration of childhood.

History

Thomas G. Murdough, Jr., the founder and former president (1969-1989) of The Little Tikes Company, pioneered the use of rotational molding in consumer products. He later founded Step2® on the simple philosophy of quality and value backed by a commitment to customer service.

Step2 began operations in 1991 with five employees and has grown to its present 800-plus full-time employees. In 2007, Tom Murdough retired. Today, Jack Vresics manages Step2 as the President and CEO.

Facilities

Step2 boasts two large US plants in northern Ohio, one in Streetsboro and one in Perrysville. Step2 products are distributed to select retailers throughout the US, Canada, and over 70 other countries.

Due to the growing customer demand for products worldwide, a licensing agreement between Step2 and The Gunica Company in Korea was arranged to provide additional manufacturing capabilities to supply customers throughout Asia.

Partnerships

Step2 is thrilled to partner with early childhood experts for the Creative Play Plus blog, a resource that provides parents with the latest research on creative play and child development. Please visit www.creativeplayplus.com for more information.

Step2 is privately held by New York-based Liberty Partners.
