Scott Levin has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of The Step2 Company, LLC ("Step2"), a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of large format, rotationally molded children's and home products sold under the Step2 brand. He brings to the company significant experience in leadership, general management, product development, operations, supply chain management and finance.

Levin stated, "I see the tremendous opportunities for Step2's market leading innovations in the children's and home products industries and am excited to lead the Company through its next phase of growth."

Yvonne Marsh, a Senior Managing Director at Liberty Partners, stated, "We are extremely excited about Scott's appointment and will continue to support the leadership team as they build on Step2's position in its markets. Hi Step 2

I sincerely hope that the future 'growth phase' of Step 2 continues to see "Made in America" stamped on its products. That's the key selling point for me and my friends: we're willing to spend a bit more for guaranteeing jobs in these US of A.

Regards
Marco

Marco,

Step2 has always been proud of our "Made in America" status, and this will not change. Our core competency is the large, durable rotationally-molded products that define our brand. These types of items--which include our playhouses, beds, climbers, ride-ons, kitchens, swingsets and more--make up the overwhelming majority of our product line, and will continue to be produced right here in the USA!

Thanks,

Andy

Commenting on an old post so this may get buried but just wanted to say I was initially steering away form Step2 because I assumed items were made in China. Knowing they are made in the US is a huge selling point for us. Now I'm excited to buy from Step2 and the only hard part is making a choice.

I know your marketing is low key but I think the American made aspect deserves to be touted. I think it has appeal across political lines because there isn't just the issue of American jobs but also growing concerns about toxics and contamination in products from China.

You make a very valid point--there has been a lot of press lately about toy regulations in China and the high percentage of toy recalls that are due to manufacturing issues in that country.

Sometimes we include smaller imported accessories with our products, such as the play phone included with the Clubhouse Climber, and I'm amazed at the kind of quality control that happens on our end. We've got a whole team of people here that actually visit the factories in China where those parts are produced, and then do additional QC on multiple revisions of samples before we include anything with our products.

We're committed to keeping the core of our product line made here in the US with American quality guidelines, and we don't lose that focus on quality even for the smaller details of what gets shipped out with the Step2 brand name printed on it.

-Andy
