My 4 yr old son got the River Run Waterpark a few days ago for his birthday. At first I thought he would be easily bored with it since it does not do a lot. (A lot of his toys move and make noise.) But he LOVES it and so does his 6 yr old sister. I just put it together yesterday and they must have been out there over 3 hours playing with it. It's great!!! I was looking at buying the Naturally Playful Welcome Home Playhouse, my only question is if my 6 yr old will be able to fit into it comfortably. We were going to have a wooden one build, but it would be about $2000-$3000 for the same size. What does anyone think about the Welcome Home Playhouse??? Could she fit easily???
Anonymous: I'm not sure how big your 6-year old is, but the Welcome Home Playhouse is quite large inside. You can read playhouse reviews from other parents, or refer to the product dimensions on that same page for a better idea of the size. (The external dimensions of this particular item are 73" long 66" wide by 66" high)
I have assembled our River Run Water Park with Umbrella and for the life of me, I cannot make the tower legs "snap" into place. This leaves the toy very wobbly. What do I do?
I love Step 2 products, I have plenty. Just wish they made more girl beds. All girls are not all about castles, but maybe a pink car or something.
Kelley,
It is quite true that boys and girls have a wide variety of tastes, and we try to strike as even a balance as can be efficiently done.
While we would love to provide alternative color options for most of our products, the corresponding levels of inventory we would have to maintain to support these options is often prohibitive. Where possible, we do offer color options on selected products. (eg. the Motorcycle)
Alternatinvely, we try to keep from genderizing our products as much as possible, as evidenced in the color and design schemes of our LifeStyle Kitchens and Naturally Playful line of toys. This allows us to offer more product variety instead of simply a wide selection of color options of a small number of products.
(Of course, if you're really determined for a given color, Krylon fusion spray paint seems to work reasonably well on our plastics--but you probably won't qet quite the same longevity of color as you do from our molded-in dyes)
