Comments about Step2 Animal Park Shape Sorter™:

Is this product BPA free? the barn shape sorter says it's BPA free in the product description but this one does not.

my son is 7 months old and he loves grabbing the shapes and putting them in his mouth. he also likes grabbing the house and picking it up.

The animals are kind of useless since you can't really see them and I don't see how a child will even be able to distinguish the animals and I had a hard time seeing them.

I am concerned about the material since at 6 months, all babies just put everything in their mouth and chew on it.

if anyone knows if this is BPA free, please comment on my review. thanks!

Comments about Step2 Animal Park Shape Sorter™:

I couldn't believe that after clipping about 10 security wires/bands that I actually had to disassemble the product with a screwdriver just to get the final lengths of packaging/banding out of the toy. I nearly threw the whole thing out when I saw it. It is inconceivable to me that I should need to spend ten minutes opening the box to free a ten dollar piece of plastic.
I agree with the other review that the animal part is useless. It works fine as a shape sorter, though a little light on build quality. Overall it works fine, but I would probably spend a little more and get something that will last through both of our kids.

Comments about Step2 Animal Park Shape Sorter™:

This is a decent shape sorter but I think in trying to add extra features to the product they forgot about its need to serve its primary purpose.

I like that there are spaces for the little animal shapes to go in the base so it acts like a puzzle as well. It's very colorful and attractive and the little carrying handle is convenient for an older baby who wants to be able to pick it up.

Where this product goes wrong is that the open & close doors feel flimsy and are definitely frustrating to a baby just trying to get the shapes in the hole.

Also the handle while a neat feature is not really a handle but a hole cut into the roof which makes you think it should be the place for a shape that is missing.

Lastly I think it's a bit of a stretch to say that this teaches kids to identify animals since the animals that appear on the shapes don't stand out very much and have no color differentiation from the shapes themselves.

It's an OK purchase but if I had to do it over again I would skip this and get something else.

Tiffiny S: Children can still play with this even before they're able to correctly sort shapes. It's also easy for kids to remove the shapes themselves and continue playing. Apr 13, 2013
