    I used these floor mats to make a fun play area for my daughter in her room. She uses them to sit and do her puzzles and play with her toys. She also loves to have her music turned on so she can dance on her special dance floor!

      Jessica M: No, you should use something with no breaks or gaps in it. The paint can easily go in between the gaps and onto your carpet. I find spilled juice, crumbs, etc. on my carpet all the time after I remove these playmats. Use something like a shower curtain liner. May 23, 2013

      Andrea A: It would probably work for markers, chalk, or crayons, but I believe that paint would potentially seep through the seams between the squares. It's a great mat, though, for general-purpose play! May 23, 2013
