Comments about Step2 Flip & Peek Fun Phone - Gray:
This is a decent phone and it looks sturdy. It's a gift, however, so it hasn't been used.
I like that it's more realistic-looking than other phones for babies that I've seen, since kids tend to be more attracted to real phones than toy ones.
All the buttons make a noise except for the side yellow button--I'm not sure what that is for. The volume can't be adjusted, but it's not too loud.
The phone can be easily flipped open and closed and is NOT likely to smash fingers. The buttons do have to be pressed--a light tap will not do--but it's not difficult. The top, round button is more sensitive and may be easier to press. Once a sound starts, it can't be stopped by pushing another button and the sounds are short.
Pressing the top buttons goes through the same sounds--dialing and ringing, "hello? hola," and a short tune. The other buttons produce the same short tune, then "hello?hola!" then "How are you?Como esta!" then "Goodbye,Adios" The voice is an American English accent and sounds like a young boy or woman.
The mirror is decent, but small (1.5" x 2"). It looks easy to scratch. It looks like glass, but the phone is not heavy. The sides of the mirror are fun-house-like, and from far away, the reflection looks warped, but the center of the mirror gives a clear view from close-up.
Made in China. The phone measures about 3.5" x 2" x 1.25" when closed. Batteries are included and you can replace them with three AG13 (LR44) batteries that I've seen sold dollar stores.
