It is a great swing for my 2 year old little girl. I really love that the ropes are weatherproof. We have the swing on our deck and use it lots. On the other swing we owed the ropes were fraying since they were outside. I am glad that with this swing we will not have to worry about it. I would recommend this swing to others. The assembly was easy and I was able to do it by myself and I am not vey good with these types of things. This is a great product.

We ordered the Step 2 Gym with swing but since our grandson was only 1 year old we also ordered the toddler swing seat. All the pictures showed this in a blue to match the gym set and there was no color choice when ordering. Imagine our surprise when they sent us a PINK swing seat for our grandson. I am extremely angry and disappointed!!

TAKE THE INSTRUCTIONS WITH YOU AND TELL THE GUY IN HARDWARE WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO DO. IF YOUR DECK IS PRESSURE TREATED WOOD, YOU WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO PRE-DRILL THE HOLES. Jan 29, 2014

kim s asked: Can the t-bar and straps be removed when my son get older? Apr 28, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
JAIME M A: The T bar and straps can be removed. When I ordered it online it actually came all apart and I needed to put the straps and the T bar on. The T bar when not in use folds down so it is not even in the way.
But one thing you should consider I do not believe it is designed to be used as just a swing because the swing hangs on much shorter ropes so it is much higher off the ground. There is no way your child will be able to get in the chair on his own.

And I do not recommend sitting him that high off the ground without straps because if he falls off it is from a much higher height.

Kaye B: It is possible to remove both parts of the swing just by unscrewing them and pulling the straps through the holes. However, I would not recommend doing this since the swing itself is plastic and very light weight. Apr 29, 2014

Margaret S: They could be but I wouldn't think you would want too. This is for a small child....under 30 lbs. my granddaughter at 27 lbs is too big for it now. It is really fun for the young. Apr 29, 2014

kim s: Thanks for that. The company advertizes the swing to be good up to 36 months and 50 lbs. Sounds like I would have been sorely disappointed if I bought it. Apr 29, 2014
Glenda A: No, the swing doesn't work like that; cannot detach T-bar, as I remember. I purchased this for my grandchildren out of state, so I cannot look at it. Apr 30, 2014

          PATRICIA K: Hi Jessica:

We purchased this item for our grandson's 1st birthday.
To answer your question, yes the product is made of a very durable plastic; therefore i would presume that it would be able to be recycled eventually. I've heard from my stepson that Elijah liked the swing alot and so I believe it was a good investment. I have never encountered an issue with any of Step-2 products and believe they are not only made in the USA but are also of extreme quality. Good luck.

It does have a 5 recycle symbol on the bottom of it, so it can be recycled.

Jodi L asked: How long are the ropes? I want to hang it from a tree branch and it's pretty high. So, I want to make sure they're long enough. Apr 11, 2013

Patricia A: The ropes on this swing are very sturdy and the entire swing is made very well. Unfortunately the ropes are designed to attach to the swing set and are not long enough to extend from a tree. The swing will be to high to benefit your child. The ropes are about 3 1/2 feet long.
          Enjoy your evening.

          Z H: Hi Jodi,

The ropes on this swing are only approx four feet. So if u have a high tree limb, then you will probably need to look elsewhere or use some type of additional cordage..

          Hope this review helps.

Dorian J: I have not actually measured the ropes, however if your tree is over 6 ft I would not recommend hanging this swing any higher than that. My swing is hanging from the actual play and slide and it is about 6ft off the ground give or take a inch or two. Apr 11, 2013

James B: We bought this to attach to a "Step 2" swing set. The bar for the swingset is probably about 5-6 ft off the ground, and when the swing is hanging from it, it sits a foot or two off the ground - so I would estimate the ropes are only 4 ft or so? Apr 11, 2013

Michelle R: Jodi, the ropes on the swing I got were about 3' long and looked like they could be adjusted shorter, but not longer.
          Hope that helps.

Jennifer L: Yes. We purchased the infant swing to replace one of the regular swings for our child. It was easily installed on the clips intended for the swing that comes with the set. Our 2 yr old still uses it but is just about ready to move on to the bigger swing. Apr 24, 2013

Step2Staff: The overall height of this infant to toddler swing (not including the ropes to attach it to a swing set) is 23” inches. The depth of the swing from the top where a child would place their back on to the seat portion is 17.5” and the width is 11." Oct 16, 2013

Suzie N asked: Would this swing be appropriate to use on door frame ( in doors)?. My daughter is 3 a brain cancer survivor, now blind due to treatment and desperately needs a lot of sensory input that I think a swing may be able to provide.. I've looked for special need swings, but they're extremely expensive. Aug 8, 2013

Step2Staff: I am so happy to hear that your little fighter is a survivor. Unfortunately, we would not recommend this swing to be used on a door frame for safety reasons. It sounds like you have a special little girl who has probably taught you more about life than you expected. I also have a child with some pretty big health issues so from that front, I can relate. I hope you are able to find an affordable alternative for sensory enhancement for your warrior. Aug 8, 2013

Steven S: This toddler swing should fit on any standard swing set that has a hook to attach it to. I have mine attached to a swing set we bought from Costco. From my own research, this is one of the best infant swings. Its safe, secure and the latches are easy to use. May 14, 2013
