We purchased this deluxe kitchen as the big "Santa" present for our 18-month-old daughter. I can't wait to play with her - this is truly a great toy! She's going to love all the appliance buttons & sounds. I put it together by myself in under 2 hours. It was one of the easiest things I've ever assembled. The only problem I had was with the dishrack when fastening it onto the top cabinets. I couldn't get the plastic fasteners pushed in all the way and it was very awkward to do with the plastic railing in the way. But I have them far enough in so that my husband can do it when he gets home. All of the holes lined up nicely when inserting screws. I did put the window decals on prior to assembly, and I'm glad I did! It would have been a little harder to line them up with the dishrack railing in the way. I was very impressed with the instructions. They were very easy to understand, and I also viewed the online assembly demo. Was pleasantly surprised to find extra screws and fasteners. Rare in this world of assembly-required stuff! The included pots, pans, dishes and food are great. We have purchased additional food - and it appears that there is plenty of storage space. This will be a toy to last for years. Will definitely buy more Step2 toys in the future. BRAVO!

My grandaughter LOVES it! It would have broken my heart if we had to send it back after she saw it. The oven door does not close, looking for fix to be sent. Cupboard doors under sink have an inch gap between them. It is difficult to open refrigerator, and microwave, but I guess that is good since the oven doesn't close! The sprayer hose is to long, but is glued into place so I didn't want to mess with it. I guess these are all little things since she is enjoying it so much.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle™ Deluxe Kitchen:

Difficult to put together since there are so many parts. Appliances are hard for an 18mo old to open even a 63 yr old!. They need handles. There is not much to grip for young hands. Granddaughter loves to play with all of it. We bought extra food and kitchen supplies (baking etc) that we added to the set for extended play. It is a toy she will have for at least 6 years. It was well worth the price/investment as even her mom and dad enjoy playing with her and having picnics on the floor.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle™ Deluxe Kitchen:

I have used this Lifestyle Deluxe kitchen in my family childcare for approx. 10 years. It still looked brand new til last month when a child with a lot of effort picked off decals and broke 1 drawer. I called customer service and spoke to an awesome, friendly representative (who used to work in manufacturing, who loves the company she works for!) quickly ordered my replacement pieces...for only $17 my kitchen is going to look like new again!! Best child care product that I have ever purchased. And although not recommended, it is sturdy and does not tip when a child climbs on it. 100% satisfaction!!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle™ Deluxe Kitchen:

We bought this for our daughter when she was 1. We knew she would be too young for it but we assembled it anyway and was going to store it in the basement. After we built it and before it made its journey into the basement, she immediately fell in love with it. We didn't expect her to be interested in it right away but she loved it. She sat next to the bins and pull them out while we put them back in over and over and over again. She put her toys in the bins and played with these things for months. As she got a little older, she seemed to find more and more things to play with on this kitchen. She loved pressing the buttons of the dishwasher and the oven to hear the noises they made. She would hide toys in all the compartments and we would find things like the TV remote and our car keys in the play fridge. As she continued to get older, she started actually playing kitchen with this toy. She loved how the pot and the pan made the sizzling sound on the stove and how she could make the microwave work with the buttons. She loved the phone and we spend a lot of time looking for it. She carries it around the house and it always seems to be missing. Even though this toy is big, bits very streamlined and fits nicely against the wall. It doesn't stick out from the wall anymore than maybe a foot and doesn't take up as much room as you would think it does. It has a really nice realistic sink feature and it is really sturdy. My daughter is now 3 and a half and still plays with this all the time. I have a one year old who loves it as well. He sees it more as a climbing apparatus but none the less, he loves it.

I brought this as a Christmas present for my grandkids. They absouletly love this kitchen set. The kids are 3 1/2 yrs old and 20 months old and they enjoy playing either together or by themselves. It wasn't difficult to put together I was able to do it by myself in about a hour and a half. I do recommend 2 people putting it together.

This product is used by my 4 year old daughter. Since Christmas morning when she first saw this Kitchen, she has wanted to play with nothing else. All of the "Frozen" items have been set aside. Everyday we play kitchen or restaraunt.
I have watched her creativity grow daily, and it's been a joy to observe and participate in her daily activities.

I bought this kitche when my niece was 1 1/2 and she's been playing with it since then. At the time she just loved opening and closing the doors and draws and moving dishes and foods around. Now that she's 3 1/2, she plays with it even more. That's the first toy her friends go running to when they come into the house. They love it. I just bought it for my friends two year old twins(boy and girl) and know they're going to have a blast with it.

Looked around at alot at kitchens. I thought this was colorful with the decals and various sounds. However, the plastic is very bulky and doesn't fit well together making the doors (fridge, microwave) difficult to really open and close. So it was somewhat disappointing in retrospect.

Is this large enough for 5 to7 year old?
          A shopper on Dec 1, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Maybe for the 5-year-old, but I wouldn't expect most 7-year-olds to have a lot of fun with this set. It would depend on how "real" the older child wanted their kitchen to appear. Everything on this kitchen is plastic, the doors don't open or close smoothly at all, and the drawers and openings are relatively small for such a large piece overall. Our child liked this set at 2, but I would not buy this set again. I think it is very nice compared to the other plastic kitchen sets on the market, but if given a second chance, I would buy one of the wooden (or particle board) sets instead. The doors, drawers, and openings are much larger and easier to access/use. Everything opens and closes much more smoothly. Everything has a more "real" look and feel to it on those sets. My child loves playing with the wood kitchen sets at his grandparents house at age 3, but hardly even looks at this set anymore. Again, this is a very nice set and I like it better than any of the other plastic sets I have seen. It is cheaper to buy than a comparable wooden kitchen set. But my recommendation for a parent that thinks this will be a long-term play set for their child is to spend the extra money and get one of the more "heavy duty" wooden kitchen sets instead. I hope this helps!
We're assembling this product now. Does anyone else have an issue where the oven rack always falls out when the oven is opened?
          Stacey on Dec 27, 2014
BEST ANSWER: We also just purchased this and we do have this issue. Ours easily comes out, but only when it's manually pulled out.
I have 20 month old twins. Will they be to young/small to enjoy this?
          Sandra on Oct 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: They should be a perfect age to enjoy this kitchen and there is plenty of room an activity for both to play.we put ours outside in my granddaughters playhouse and her and the twins next door had a blast this past summer.they are all now 4 years. So you will get plenty of years to enjoy before they outgrow this kitchen.
          Hi

I am wondering what would be the best place to buy this kitechen from? Online (website) or a store (Toys are US)- who so ever offers the best price deal and free shipping, I guess.......
          Please help

          Thanks!
          Hami A on Nov 21, 2013
BEST ANSWER: We bought this online from step2 with free shipping as I did not locate it locally. I think it's the largest one and many stores did not have it. We bought it last year and they continue to play with it as their imagination grows.
does anyone know about the light on this kitchen does it have a light bulb? I saw a place on the back where it can be plugged in but it requires 4 AA batteries for the light?
          A shopper on Dec 2, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I'm not sure what type of bulb is used for the light but it only runs on batteries. There is no plug for any of the sounds or the light over the sink. My daughter has been using her kitchen for almost a year, though, and we haven't had to replace any of the batteries or the bulb in the light. Also, just a recommendation: this does take a LOT of batteries. My husband assembled this for Christmas last year, and I remember him saying the kitchen needed several batteries in several different places to power the sounds for the microwave, oven, and dishwasher, so make sure you're stocked up on AAs and perhaps Cs or Ds. Thankfully we have different types on hand for the various toys we used to own that needed Cs or Ds, but just in case, get a pack of each so you're not stuck on Christmas Eve. :) And my daughter at 4 years old still loves this kitchen set, so it's definitely worth every penny. Hope that helps!
I have a four year old that will be five before Christmas, was thinking about getting this for him as a Christmas gift. He is about 41-42'' tall. Would this toy be too small for him??
          Hillary M on Oct 21, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Our son is 4 1/2yrs old and loves to play with it every day. Sounds like our children are about the same in size there is no conflict. Now my 18 mo old likes to try to lower the stove and d/w to use the doors as steps to reach up to the fridge & micro but we don't allow him to do this for safety sake.
Im looking for a kitchen that has burners that light up? Does this do this or can you recommend one that does?
          Chris F on Jul 26, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Not sure why you are getting conflicting answers but I will clarify. There are two burners. The back burner is simply a sticker that looks like a burner and it does not light up, nor does it make noise. The front burner is plastic with ridges and there are two tiny buttons in between the ridges that when a certain pot or pan is placed on the burner, it will make a boiling or sizzling noise (depending on which button is pushed by either the pot or the pan) and the burner DOES light up at the same time. The entire burner itself does not light up, nor does it "glow". It just blinks while it makes the noise, which lasts for about 5-10 seconds, and then it stops. Hope that answers your question more thoroughly.
Does this kitchen come with the coffee pot that is shown in video?
          A shopper on Nov 22, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Ours didn't come with the coffee pot. However, we purchased this for our daughter a couple of years ago. It came with the other pots and dishes.
Are the dishes in the deluxe kitchen food safe?
          A shopper on Mar 29, 2014
BEST ANSWER: We have purchased 2 of these kitchens for grandchildren ages 2 and 3. They have had many hours of fun play and there have been no issues with the dishes. All still intact after several years. One family has gone thru 3 children and the kitchen is still like new. Great purchase.
Will a plate or a pot/pan lay flat in the oven so that food can be "cooked" in the oven? How deep is the oven?
          Lisa C on Nov 18, 2013
BEST ANSWER: It is 8 inches deep and 7-1/4 inches wide. All of my kids' toy pots, pans, and plates fit with room to spare - even the "large" frying pans with handles. There is room on the shelf and on the floor of the oven, so they can "cook" multiple dishes at once.

BEST ANSWER: I have a 3 year old daughter and a 21 month old son and they both love this kitchen! They don't mind the color and it blends in nicely in the house as opposed to pink/purple. Just pick up some play food to enhance the experience!
          where do the batteries go?
          Rosalie O on May 18, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Batteries go behind all of the small remote looking boxes that go into the kitchen. It has two that go where dish washer and oven. The white one above the sink is the light need batteries. Lastly the burner need batteries. I don't remember how that went in. I am just going off my memory. But it is not hard. You just need to put them in before you put it together.

          BEST ANSWER: This play kitchen is shipped in 2 cartons. Carton 1 is 31.5 lbs. and 50.75" x 20.5" x 18" and carton 2 is 36.25 lbs. and 52.75" x 19.75" x 18.25."
Can any one tell me what the dimensions are of the box or boxes this kitchen comes in? Thanks!
          A shopper on Nov 4, 2013

Can anyone share with me the specifics of the electronic features of this kitchen? I know one of the stove lights up and makes sizzling sound. How about the others? i.e. microwave, oven.. to the buttons beep as you press them?
          A shopper on Nov 2, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The electronic sounds are a really funny addition! The dishwasher numbers make noise and there's a washing sound plus three other noises, the microwave numbers beep and there are 4 other microwave sounds (one is popcorn, one is a cooking sound), the stove numbers beep and also has 4 other sounds, and then one burner on the stove top makes a boiling sound when a pot is put on top of it, and the same burner makes a sizzling noise when a skillet is placed on it. (The skillet and pot come with the set). Hope this helped a bit.
