I bought this because the reviews said it is easy to install and it was very easy to install. We are the farthest from handy people and we were able to install it. We chopped down our current mailbox pole to 24 inches and then reinforced the pole with quikrete and then placed the mailbox over the pole. The only thing I don't like is that it only fits a 4x4 and there was additional reinforcement at the bottom of our original pole that was not able to be covered by our mailbox so it isn't flush with the ground. I am going to get decorative stones and plants to put around the bottom. Otherwise we're very pleased with the mailbox.

Door hinge too weak
Several houses in my subdivision have this mailbox, and the door hinge is broken on more then half of the mailboxes.

I used to have a wood 4x4 post with a mailbox, until the school bus knocked the top of the post off.
I was able to re-use the 4x4 post stub and mount a Trimline mailbox in about 20 minutes. An elegant repair job.
Of course, the new mailbox won't stand up to getting hit by the school bus any better than the 4x4 post, but hopefully that won't happen again.

We were really impressed with this product. It is better than we expected. But then again, it is Step 2 products, and that is about the only product we purchase for our children's toys. We would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a stylish and well-built mailbox.
