We are very pleased with this set. I have a home daycare and have children ranging in ages from birth to 4-5. I have researched many, many outdoor swingsets and found that many are just too high for the younger children. This set has a cool "fort" under, which is perfect for the little toddlers, and another fort above, which is great for the ones able to climb the ladder. Again, the height is great. Just enough for them to feel like they are up high, but still safe. The set is sturdy and was fairly easy to put together. My husband and my 11 year old son worked on it together and completed it in about 4 hours. He is pretty handy with tools, but it should be easy for someone who maybe isn't as handy, just follow the directions. It was missing just one piece of hardware, not bad :). It was just one nut that holds the handle by the slide together. My only other complaint, like many others, is that the swings are WAY too high!! It would be impossible for anyone under the age of 8-9 to be able to get on by themselves, and if they somehow did, I feel the height would be very unsafe if they were to fall. This isn't too much of a worry for me, as we have ordered full bucket infant/toddler swings to use with it, since we have both very young babies and toddlers using the set. I have attached a photo with the original swings so you can get an idea of just how high they truly are. I will keep the swings it came with for my older children, 11-12, if they want to use them. This set is definately sturdy enough for the biggest kids also! As much as I like the look of some of the wooden sets, I feel that being able to rinse this set off when dirty, paired with the bonus of NO SPLINTERS, make this set a really smart choice! Overall, we are very happy with our purchase and would definately recommend this set!!

We put it in the backyard so that our 2 1/2 year old could play in the backyard. The glider is good, but the ropes on the swings are very short so our son who is pretty tall for his age needs help getting in and they don't swing as good because of how short they are. the stairs to the slide are good, but the slide is not as tall as you might think it would be from the description.

We recently moved to Utah and were looking for a playset that wasn't wood (splintering) and not metal (rusting). We found this plastic set and after reading all the reviews and some youtube reviews on this product purchased it for our 2 and 5 year old sons. They LOVE it and play on it snow, rain or shine. They can grow into it as they are too young to use the ladder yet but love to eat lunch in the bottom of the house and love the glider. Great purchase!

Post has broken after it was hit by lawn mower. Called Step2. Certain parts can be replaced but not the post. Since it is made of molded plastic need original part to fix.
Considering the price, Step 2 should stock all replacement parts. Who wants their kids to use a swingset with a broken post?

At seventy I wanted a play set for my great grandsons. I was pass the wood sets and having all types of Step Two products in the pass made me check them out. Wow this set was just perfect. Big, easy to put together and good looking. The look on my great grandson's face said it all! Thank you for the love of children your people that comes up with these ideas must have. Would highly recommend this play set.

Cindy F: Yes, I think this would be great for a family with both a 6 yr old and 3 yr old. I got this for my son when he was 2. At the time I bought an infant swing to use in place of one of the regular swings. The infant swing and the slide were what got the most use at first. My son is now 3 and has had playmates over that range in age from 2 to 10 - they all have fun. The rope ladder is still a little too advanced for my 3 yr old, but the older kiddos love it. It's nice to have a playset that all the kids can enjoy together. Jun 20, 2013

However my oldest daughter can't stand up in the house and no one can stand up in the bottom house. I just wish they would have made this taller but they still like it! Hope this helps:) Jun 20, 2013

Dennis Cherry S: This may be unsuitable for the 6 year old.

While playing with the 3 year old sibling it may be suitable.

This is a very nice set and 3-4 year olds love it.

The swings and hide and seek areas are great for all ages

Wendy R: I think there is a weight limit on the swing but like 70lbs. My daughter is going to be 5 and my son is three and they love it. I had to add a knot in the swings on both sides to lift them a little higher. I think your 6 year old will love it Jun 20, 2013

Lorraine Z: I have 2 grandchildren, ages 2 and 4, and I bought this set for them. They love it. They need supervision because the slide is a good height and the swings can go fairly high. We switched out one backless seat for a toddler bucket seat and that is great. The glider is great fun for them too. I dont expect them to grow out of this set for a few more years, maybe age 7 or so. May 17, 2013

My other granddaughter is not here as often, she is 6--loves it and plays on it and is not too big at all for it. She is tall for her age. I think she will still use it in 2 years or longer!

I am so glad that we purchased this. I foresee it being used for many more years still.

glenda m: The slide is not wavy. The delivery truck driver was nice enough to help me move the boxes with a pallet jack. It did take three of us though because the boxes were completely destroyed and falling apart from shipping. It comes in two very large boxes. Don't worry if your boxes are a mess when they get to you. Step 2 will help you get a replacement part if any are missing. There is a number on the outside of the box you will need to do this so dont throw your boxes away before you call them. Absolutely LOVE this swing set! Jul 17, 2013

Thomas R: I purchased this in April and my 3 kids love it. My youngest is 1 and we change out the swing for a baby bucket swing when he wants to swing. The connections at the top for the swing are super easy to switch out. Jun 14, 2013

arthur w: We just love this set. My grandson is 4. To replace a swing for a baby swing would be very simple. I believe they sell a baby swing that fits right on. Jun 16, 2013

Linda M: His is exactly what we did with ours. Instead of the regular swings, we got the baby bucket swings and use it at our Preschool. They work perfect. Jun 14, 2013

arthur w: We live in a large development where this glider and playset is getting lots of use. It is built very well and seems to be working out just fine. My grandchild is four, but many other children in the neighborhood are older and larger. We are very pleased with this set! May 7, 2013

Amanda T asked: Hello. Can anyone tell me if I am able to order accessory parts for this such as a tire swing? How about chains for the swings? I have read that the ropes on the swings are short and not adjustable. Can anyone comment on this? Thank you! Mar 25, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Thomas R: We purchased this about a year ago. The ropes are a bit short, especially on the ladder (by about 2 inches). Over time they all do expand about an inch with wear. What I did was go to Home Depot (Lowe's, etc) and purchase some clip hooks with 150-200 lb weight (to be overly cautious) and some chain (appx 3")for each connection to lower the swings for my kids, and the chain can be adjusted as needed. With regards to accessories like tire swing, etc. we have purchased a baby swing to exchange in one of the 2 regular swings for our youngest. Purchased a step 2 baby swing at toys r us. Also purchased a rope swing with a flat seat that we have hooked up to the swings as well in exchange for a regular swing. There are options, but you'll probably have to find them as other parts, not necessarily designated accessories. Mar 27, 2014

Melinda M: You can switch accessories easily, we added a playground style infant swing from a different manufacturer and they just clip on.
While the ropes are not adjustable they were a fine length for my 2,10 and 12 yr old.

Step2Staff: We have heard our customers say that it can take anywhere from 4 to 8 hours to assemble. We created an assembly video to help walk you through the process: http://vig.sellpoints.com/step2/step2/default/STPANY00008.html Apr 14, 2014

K E A: A ratchet set, hammer, and a Philips head screw driver. The allenwrench is included in the box. Assembly is somewhat easy... but VERY time consuming since directions are mostly just pictures...takes a while sometimes to figure out which piece is being shown since it's a partial picture of the piece. Vinnette L: Assembly was fairly straight forward and the steps were easy to follow. You need at least two people to complete the project, three would be ideal. Tools needed: ratchet set w/ 13mm socket, screw driver (screw gun is ideal) and an Allen Key which is provided.

              Hope this helps!

Melissa L asked: We are going to put a border around the set and put down rubber mulch, what dimension of area would be good for the border? 2-3 feet extra? Any suggestions? May 18, 2013

Wendy R: So funny you are asking me this, as we just bought the border to put around it and we have regular mulch, but same thing. We currently have it mulched 3 feet away all except for the slide. We have it extended 5 feet instead of 3 feet to give them more room when they slide down. Hope this helps. This is a great swing set. May 20, 2013

michael b: We moved ours and it being plastic and not wood makes it super easy. We actually moved it twice once to a new location and another time with in the yard. We left the house together when we moved and just took off the slide. Jun 20, 2013

FRANCESCA G: I think 3 feet in the front and back would be a good idea. The swing and glider have a long range. May 20, 2013

Ashley T: We had ours a year at one location then moved it in our truck to the new house. I kept the fort intact but took the rest apart. wasnt too hard to move at all. however it didnt fit through the new houses fence gate so I literally heaved it over the fence with the help of my husband and it didnt get a scratch. super durable! lol Jun 20, 2013
