This toy box is great! We got it because our granddaughter has too many sand toys in her sand box and not enough room to get the lid back on the sandbox unless I move toys out of it.

This toy box bench is very well made and it holds a lot more toys, so we have room to collect more!!!. It is very well made and holds both my husband and myself sitting on it. Think I read that it holds up to 400 lbs.

It's worth every dollar we paid for it, and I highly recommend it for outside toy storage

I have never had a better bench to hide my kids outdoor toys in! However, when I tried to assemble it on my own, I found I could not put it together the way the directions told me to. It took me about a good half an hour and I had to assemble it the way I thought worked best. It would have been better had it not come with directions at all. Besides that, my kids and I love it. Its has a lot of storage space, is very durable and is sturdy as well.

Comments about Step2 Outdoor Storage Bench:

Cute bench, but not as easy to assemble as you would think. The predrilled holes were missing so I had to try & hold it together while drilling in the right areas. Could have used another person probably just because of this.

Comments about Step2 Outdoor Storage Bench:

I bought two benches to use as toy boxes/extra seating area on the back porch. Great! Easy to clean. Just spray off with the hose. Look nice. To use for the little children, it would have been nice for the seat top to have been hinged so they could open and close themselves. For other uses, no hinge would be a plus around little children. I am very pleased with them.

Purchased for daughter who was looking for outdoor storage for children's toys. Very easy assembly. Attractive on patio. Waterproof storage for outdoor toys (due to all the rain). Helped organize clutter. Most of all it is comfortable to sit on. Excellent product. Great gift.

After extensive searching in Stores and the Internet and reading ALL the reviews I decided to purchase this Bench. It has the Best Reviews, Quality and Price of any Bench I have seen. I am very pleased and so was my Husband. I also like the fact there are NO hinges to RUST or BREAK!

Step2.com Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Lisa G: I have 3 of these around my yard. love them!!!! Feb 20, 2015
VICKIE J: I bought this to store our kids' outdoor toys (shovels, gardening toys, etc). It's looks great and two adults can sit and relax while the kids play. The only negative is that the lid can fall down on little fingers so it's best to supervise kids if they're getting in and out of the bench for things. Nov 19, 2014
Irene I: It blends in with the backyard landscape/hard scape and has a twofold use, as a simple bench and as as storage area for toys. Mar 16, 2014
Hope W: Needed seating and storage. Great to store my grandchildren's outdoor toys. They love it. Aug 15, 2013
Kathy M: Good price. Already have two that I love. Apr 15, 2013

joel t: This bench is really comfortable to sit on. Actually, this is my most comfortable seat on my patio. I love sitting there to relax, and my kids love to sit with me when I feed them dinner. I can fit with my 3 little ones to read them a story. Great for storage too. I use it indoors in the winter( kids like to stand on it when looking out of the window and I like it cause that means no standing on wobbly chairs. This is a really good bench. Aug 12, 2014

H E: It is slightly more comfortable than sitting on a park bench mainly because the plastic is not as hard as wood and the back is more reclined than a park bench. The arm rests are too high for me but it is a handy spot to place my cell phone and water bottle. Aug 13, 2014

Julie M: Yes, it is.....maybe not for long periods of time, of course. It is not as hard as you would think. The seat has a little "give". Aug 14, 2014

deb h asked: I know it's plastic, but how realistic does it look. Does it look like a kiddy product or will it look nice on my patio for adults? Jan 7, 2015

      Jericca G: Hi!
First let me start by saying that I have two benches and I've had them for over three years.
The benches are sturdy and look nice. I have them outside and I store my son's outdoor toys..
As to what they look like.. You can go casual and playful.. The way the are.. I like mine a bit "fancier"... So.. I bought a bench cushion for them and they look very nice.

We are in the process of moving.. And I'm taking them with me.. I like them that much.. They really hold up nicely.

VICKIE J: My husband and I are very happy with the way ours looks on our front patio. We have a high end, luxury home and when we listed our home for sale, we asked our realtor if we should move the bench away from the front door. She stated it looked nice and inviting and we should leave it.

That being said, everyone has their own opinions of what looks nice, and yours may be different from ours, but for what it's worth, we have been very happy with the product.

Karen D: The bench looks exactly like the picture and although I use it in my child care room, it would be fine on a patio. It's very sturdy, holds a lot of things, and is good quality. I sit on it often. It is plastic so feels and looks like plastic. However, the color is perfect and I trust that it would do very well outside. Personally, I would buy it for a patio. Jan 8, 2015

Debra J: I have had it on my front patio in CA for almost 2 years and I think it looks great. It goes nicely with the stones on the patio and walkway, which have the same taupe-y, pink-ish tone. It holds a lot of stuff - we use it for outdoor toys - and it is sturdy. Jan 12, 2015
Reply to Debra Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Cara d: It looks really nice and has held up well, but it only holds the weight of one adult. Two can fit, but you can feel the seat bending. Jan 7, 2015
Reply to Cara Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
ROBERT R: Hi it doesn't look like a toy. It is a very nice bench that I use to hold my water hoses. Also very sturdy Jan 7, 2015

Melissa S: This bench looks great in my daughters backyard playground... But probably too kiddie for a front porch. Jan 8, 2015

A shopper asked: Is this fairly waterproof or does water get in when it rains? Mar 24, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Christine Q: I would say yes. Dry off lid before opening after rain. I've accidentally wet the contents by forgetting to do that. I even keep ours outside during winter and have had no problems with snow getting in. We have two and I LOVE them. Mar 26, 2014
Reply to Christine Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Laura W: It is fairly waterproof but some water has gotten in it...I store the kids ball, jump ropes, etc in it so it doesn't matter if they get wet! If what you want to store in it needs to be kept completely dry it would not work! Mar 24, 2014
Reply to Laura Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Heidi T: No, it is not waterproof. Water can get in from gaps in the seat. It can pool on the bottom inside of bench. Still a great bench and they hold up really well but definitely not waterproof. Mar 24, 2014
Reply to Heidi Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Hope W: No. It stays dry. We love it. And our grandchildren love to sit on it. It's very cushy to sit on. I would highly recomend it. Mar 28, 2014

M.K.S. asked: What size cushion would fit on this bench? May 16, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Thomas A: The seat is 41x21 inches but 3 inches of the seat protrude behind the back. Look at the picture and you will see a gap between the seat and the bottom of the back. That's where the seat protrudes. Also the seat is not a perfect rectangle, it is rounded slightly at the front. A 41 x18 inch cushion should fit nicely. I own 2 of these and fitted each with 2 non-slip dining room chair cushions from Walmart. May 17, 2014
