I have this in the backyard for my 4 year old to play with. It was a gift and he is a little large for it. Best age is 12 months up to 3 years. But I wanted to share a video of my son with the toy for parents to see it in action.

Depending on your needs, the Step2 Panda Climber is a cute little slide and climbing set for kids ages 1 - 3.Past that, they will usually be masters of the giant jungle gyms at local play grounds or the sky-high Skyward Summit.

We received the Panda Climber as a gift and I like how easy it was for my husband to assemble. He did have to use a power drill to "finish" the holes to get the screws in. And the plastic is easy to wipe down to clean off dust, dirt and the occasional snack-spill. The size is small enough for a small patio and it can even fit indoors in a play room. When my son was younger he had a slide/ball pit combo in his bedroom which ROCKED. So this would be a cute addition to a large bedroom or play room.

It has many open areas for children to climb to the step and from there go down the slide. The platform is ridged, decreasing any opportunities for accidental slips.

Currently my boys play with it like any boy would - climbing and chasing each other. It's also good for racing cars down the slide. It can hold up to 100 pounds, so both of my boys can sit on the platform at the same time, although that rarely happens as they are always on the move.

    Comments about Step2 Panda Climber:

I needed something to fit on my deck in the summer and then transition to the basement in the winter. The size was perfect for my 19-month old. The climber incorporates lots of activities in a compact unit. Especially appreciate the stability and the uprights which give my little guy something to hold onto so he won't fall off. Assembly instructions were clear and easy to follow. However, I did have to drill starter holes for the screws. Not a big deal. Delivery was quick and as promised. I would most certainly order from this company again!

Our grandson loves his climber and slide. Everything in our home has gone down the slide, it is built very sturdy and was quite easy to assemble. I would recommend it for anyone with young children, particularly with climbers. We live in Ohio and since our grandson cannot play outside this has been wonderful set up in our living room.

Bought this for 22 mo old grandson who is into climbing.
Like the bright colors and sturdiness of product. Using in large carpeted family room until weather gets warmer. Picture instructions not that helpful. Needed 3 people and drill to finally get it together correctly but worth it.

Aunt and Uncle looking for a gift that would last a long time, would help develop physical and mental skills and would be great fun for the child. We read all the previous review and search for reviews not on the Step 2 website to ensure we were purchasing the right gift.

              Can this be used indoors?
              Kimber A on Oct 17, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I say yes because I bought it for that purpose. It has never been outside. I also bought the blue foam interlocking mats to go under it because we don't have carpet. It is used by a two year old and a six year old. We have owned it for a year and a half.
Can it be dragged from the grass outside to the garage when done playing??
              A shopper on Oct 28, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it's very lightweight and can move easily. It is wide though. Dragging it into a garage wouldn't be a problem, but if you were going to bring it in and out of the house, it would require maneuvering to get it out of a standard doorway.
I notice the description says "wide protruding stairs that lead up to a large platform". However I don't see any stairs in any of the pics. All I see is what I would call a ladder on the side. I'd does not appear to be "protruding". Can anyone please clarify?
              A shopper on Jun 22, 2014
BEST ANSWER: There are no stairs on this climber. There are indentations on one side of the climber for little feet and on the other side is oval holes that their little feet can step in. I love this size appropriate climber and purchased it in part because of the yellow bar on the back to help prevent my grandson from accidentally falling off backwards. Sturdy, easy to clean, and still use daily. Hope this helps.
What is the best way to prevent kids from pushing this toy around when used indoors on carpet?? Somewhere I had read someone suggesting you fill it with sand. Is this possible?? If so, HOW?? Are there better suggestions on keeping it in place and not sliding?
              Marcie F on Jun 20, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hi Marcie, our panda climber is used by 3 year olds and they are not able to push it around at all. In fact when I vacuum and move it, it is quite bulky. Not all that easy to move. I guess you could put sand it in, although it doesnt come with sand holes youd have to put them in and fill it.
Wondering the height of the slide from the ground?? I have a (small) 4 year old.. would this be too small??
              Caren D on Jun 11, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I have a small 2 year old and it is perfect forher.I have a 5 year old grandson that has one too and he plays fort with it....this may not answer your question directly but it is a great toy that evolves with age.
Can the Panda climber be taken apart and put back together easily? I would like to be able to take it apart and move it indoors or outdoors. I read the reviews of another Step 2 climber (the Koala Climber) on another site and they said it could not be taken apart once it was assembled.
              A shopper on May 3, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I wish I could assist with the answer to your question, we assembled Panda Climber in our living area and have not moved it because my 2 year old granddaughter plays on it daily. She loves it and its just the right size. I appreciate the fact there is railing completely around the platform. However, now that it is Spring and warmer weather, I have decided to move it to our screened porch area. This will involve taking apart the climber (hopefully just the slide) in order to move it through doorway. I'm hoping it will be an easy task. I will try to submit an updated review. I can say it was easy to assemble and we've been very happy with the purchase. Love Step 2 products.
What is the height limit for children with this toy? My almost 14 month old is already over 32" tall.
              Robin D on Jun 30, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I don't know what the height limit is, but my 6 year old plays on it with my 2 year old and they both have fun.
I would like to know whether the height dimension is to the top of the arch?
              Dael L on Dec 14, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the height dimension on the climber and slide would be from the ground to the tallest point.
Can someone please tell me the exact length of the slide? Thank you.
              A shopper on Aug 15, 2013
BEST ANSWER: From the top of the slide to the bottom, this slide measures 30 1/2"
Has anyone taken this apart and reassembled? We are moving and it will need to be disassembled/reassembled, but I'm not sure if the screws are going to go in tight the second time around. It's just screws into the plastic--do the holes risk getting stripped? Obviously we need it to be secure.
              Sarah L on Aug 17, 2014
BEST ANSWER: We have taken ours apart multiple times since it doesn’t fit through doorways. We had originally set it up in our daughter’s room, but had to move it when baby #4 came along! We also took it apart to pack it when we moved a few months ago. It went back together easily, and is just as sturdy.
What is the height of the platform off the ground?
              A shopper on Aug 8, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The height from the ground to the platform is 17 inches.
Are there any attachments you can buy to the Panda Climber? On either side there is an indent with 4 holes that looks like something could fit into it.
              John P on Oct 6, 2013
BEST ANSWER: No, there aren't any attachments for the Panda Climber. That is just part of the design.
