We were pretty excited to find this one of our favorite stores last week! This table definitely has some nice ugrades from previous years.

The biggest pro is that you have the ability to cover either the sand or water which keeps your table from becoming sand muck city and then having to explain to your child that it takes time for sand to dry!

The toys are entertaining and my daughter has been sending all her little toy people down the waterslide with enthusiasm. Her favorite item is the shark jug which can sprinkle water on the sand or make a waterfall.

I was a bit skeptical about the construction at first - this table is not as sturdily built as the Naturally Playful Sand & Water Activity Table which we also own and love. The legs are only half legs and between the sand and water it is a lot of weight to support.

Also the tower that holds the toys is similarly constructed. I have noticed that Step2 is doing this on more products and while I have not had an actual problem with something coming apart or collapsing they just don't feel very sturdy to an adult.

That aside this table is a fantastic entertainment center for small children and 2-3 kids can play at a time. Step2 delivers on the entertainment factor for this item and it will be going with us on weekend vacations during the summer. If you want to make lots of friends on vacation bring one of these to the kiddy pool!

I bought this for my nearly 2 year old son. I looked into many different sand & water tables & chose this one because of the "extras". The tower thing that you pour water through, doesn't fit together properly and continues to come apart, AND I would think that since the table is for BOTH sand & water, that you would be able to pour either one through it, but you can't, the sand just cloggs it up(and not because it was wet either)

Both my boys were excited to see this water table Easter morning! Unfortunately I didn't open the box until the night before and then that's when I noticed the missing accessories. I emailed customer service and they gave me a number to call but I just have had the time nor a quiet house to do that in yet. The kids really like the water table and are using other sand toys in there now. I do wish that the water plug was in both sides instead of one since I only use it as a water table. Overall, great fun nice sized table!

Us this with my 2 year old and great when we have play dates. Love how it all packs down inside itself. Wish there was a better way to pack down the umbrella though. Like maybe a below the table snap in or something. It's great for children under 2 also as just a huge splash tub.

Darla K: My son is turning 1 year old and we felt this was the perfect gift from his grandma. He absolutely loves playing in water and his 4 year old sister will love both the sand and water sides. We saw it in person at a local store and it's a perfect size and great quality. Having a cover that fits both sides was a must for us to protect from bugs, etc. We also purchased a 60" round umbrella for sun protection. It's the perfect toy for them to enjoy together! :) Apr 16, 2013
A shopper asked: Does the table come with a cover for both sides (to keep it clean overnight, etc) or just one side at a time? Mar 31, 2013

Kristen L: The cover only covers one side at a time, however for safety and cleanliness the water should be emptied after every use. It has a plug in the bottom that easily lets the water drain out. I clean the water side every time to prevent bacteria from growing in the water, and leaving it open to the air will allow it to dry all the way. I keep the cover on the sand side to keep out unwanted "stuff" and I always bring it in overnight. I LOVE this toy and so does my daughter she can't wait for the warmer weather to be able to play with it again! Apr 2, 2013

Angela J: The Splash & Scoop Bay comes with one cover. So, you will have to cover the other side yourself or you will have to constantly clean it. It's a great water table. I was in the process of contacting Step2 to see if I could order another cover so that both sides could be covered and I wouldn't have to do a lot of cleaning. Other than that I like this product. Norma S: NO, The cover can go on either side but will only cover one side at a time. I will say my granddaughter loves the table and it is easy to clean. They usually cover the sand side, since they drain the water from the water side. The nice thing about the "cover" is that it can be used to extend the sand or water play to the whole table. Allison S: No it just comes with a lid for one side. I think when they made this table they assumed kids wouldn't get sand in both sides. HA! Mine was mixed with sand and water from the second my daughter started playing with it. With it being up off the ground though it doesn't attract to many bugs and spiders. Apr 1, 2013

Melissa D: The answer is Yes but I had to purchase mine separate. You might be able to ask if there is one boxed and sold somewhere with one. After I purchased mine I saw exact product with the umbrella but it was a little more (makes sense) maybe step 2 would know who is selling the boxed item that has the umbrella? Step 2 will also sell you one directly as an accessory and ship it to you. Jun 27, 2013

Aaron R: The legs have plastic retention snaps (quite strong) that you will have to squeeze together in order tk remove the legs. You might need an extra hand doing it, but it can be done. BTW, we've had this all year left out in the sun and used a lot, and no issues. I've had 2 four year olds climb into it at the same time and it doesn't flinch. Sep 20, 2013
