We love our Sweetheart Playhouse!!...Our 18-month old enjoys playing in her little home! Since it doesn't have a floor, my husband came up with sanding & staining a fence panel and set it as the floor. It's very easy to assemble and a little heavy so it stands perfectly. The LifeStyle Fresh Accents Kitchen can fit inside this playhouse (since it doesn't have a kitchen on it!) We had ours in our backyard since May 2013, so far it hasn't faded yet after all the Spring rain and heat. Our little girl loves ringing the doorbell. We love playing with our daughter in her little playhouse! If there's one thing that I would like to suggest, it would be that Step2 should have playhouse covers too(like patio furniture covers..hehe), it would help us take less time in checking these cute playhouses for some insects before we play and also for protection against color fading.

    Comments about Step2 Sweetheart Playhouse:

A neighbor gave this playhouse to my children after their daughter had outgrown it. Their daughter is graduating high school this year. My youngest has now outgrown it as well. I can not bring myself to give it away. It is still in my yard under the blooming dogwood tree waiting for my little nieces to visit. I love this playhouse. It has been in that same spot for 10 years now, in summer heat, in winter ice and snow. We've never had any problems with it.

        Comments about Step2 Sweetheart Playhouse:

We love this playhouse. My daughter is 2 years old and we use it in her playroom. Our plans are to take it outside when the weather is a little nicer. It is fairly large, so be sure you read the dimensions. No surprises if you really read the product information. The height, size, openness, working doorbell and fun little phone are great! As far as cons, I can't really find any. I read some reviews saying it needs a floor, but if you plan to take it outside, I'm not sure a floor would be very helpful in uneven grass and ground. We added a little playmat that actually fits the house perfectly and couldn't be happier. The only reason I didn't put 5 stars is because I haven't seen it perform outside yet.

Ryan C: No it doesn't have a floor but I think that's for the best because if you are using it outside puddles would gather on a floor and for indoor use ( it's in my little girls room ) her carpet is much nicer to sit/stand/kneel on than a hard plastic base. Hope this helps! Mar 29, 2013

Elicia S: There is no floor. We used the foam puzzle flooring while it was inside and that worked well. Very good little playhouse. We have had it for a couple of years and our 5 yr old and 2 yr old both still love it. Mar 29, 2013

A shopper asked: I am looking at getting this house for my twin 3 year old girls. I am worried that it is too small? Would two little girls fit in this house with room to spare? I was hoping to fit some chairs in as well if there was room. I was looking at getting the largest house but they love how this house is pink. Torn!! I would like them to use this for years to come. Tawana H: I purchased this house in December 2012 for my then very advanced 1 year old God Daughter and she loves it. I do think it is big enough for 2 three year old girls and still have room for a couple of chairs and even a small table. We have a small table w/two chairs and a small My First Kitchen in her's and we get in it with her at times. She also has a shopping cart that she parks in the house. We are very happy with our purchase and think it was money well spent. Jun 19, 2014

Maria D: I have owned two of these. I was able to put in chairs and a table. I did childcare for 32+ yrs and even the boys loved it. Easy to maintain, and it was outside and against a fence so the snow really didn't get in and the children were able to still play in it. I sent one to my son in
MO, and his daughter and her friends love it. great investment and you can't go wrong. both boys and girls
love playing in it. hopefully that helped.

I have crawled in with my older granddaughter and had just enough room to play with her. If they are of average size they should be able to play in it for quite a while. Jun 17, 2014

Anne M: We have actually moved our "house" several time. We bought it with the intention of our daughter being able to use it in the basement during the winter and outside the rest of the year. Unfortunately, we were not as smart as you to consider the ease/difficulty of doing so first. In order to get the "house" out of the basement (where it was originally assembled, as a Christmas gift), we needed to disassemble it, at least partially. Sadly, it was not an easy task. Some of the screws we were unable to remove at all, due to the fact that they had sunken totally into the plastic; "house" was still secure, but the screws were unreachable. Then, some of the screws that we were able to remove seemed loose when we rescrewed them, so we had to go and buy larger screws to fit tighter. All in all, it worked out and our daughter LOVES the "house"(she was 18 mos. last Christmas when we got it for her and it is still one of her favorite things to do today), it just wasn't as easy as we had hope. We have had the "house" for almost a year not and moved it twice. We have it down to a science now and it isn't nearly as bad as the first attempt......lived and learn!!!
        Hope this was helpful!!

KATHLEEN C: We bought this playhouse for our grandbabies who live in Oklahoma. So I did not put it together, but we have found that once you put these toys together you can't take thme apart. Because their all plastic, I think the screw holes stretch out...So if you do take the screws out you can never fit them back in again...Kathy Nov 18, 2013

nicole b: I haven't tried to do that. It went together super easily for me, built it myself in about 20 minutes. It's hard to get the screws in straight in the plastic, if you get them in straight it should not be a problem. Dec 12, 2013

Marlene G asked: What is the best way to clean the house after it has been outdoors? How do you get rid of water that has gotten inside the walls? May 26, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Kari L: We purchased a waterproof tarp (at Home Depot, approx. $60) to cover it during the winter/rainy season here on the West Coast. Now that it's sunny, we leave it open and during the day let the sun dry it out. We also use clorox wet wipes to clean out the nooks and crannies before use (if it's been a while since our daughter played in it). My husband has also used a power hose sprayer (for the first time we took it out after the winter) to do a thorough clean off. May 27, 2013

Jill R: We wash it down with our hose or pressure washer (not too close with the later) and then wipe it down with a cloth. If water has gotten on the inside of the walls I'd get four small blocks of wood to put under each of the corners for the water to drain out if it's gotten in somewhere. Depending on where the water can enter the inside of the walls you may want to try tipping it over on one side or another to drain. Hope this helps! May 27, 2013

Kari L: If placed indoors, it would take up a good amount of space. We put our playhouse outdoors in the backyard. It occupies a nice corner of the paved part of our patio. There is room inside for 2 small (kid-sized) plastic chairs and at least 2-3 kids, or 1 kid + 1 adult (if you crouch down). May 27, 2013

Step2Staff: This is a great question. The dimensions listed on the product page for this playhouse are from the outside of the playhouse and also measure the longest point of the product from front to back (including the flip out BBQ grill). The dimensions listed on the infographic highlight the play space when inside the product. Hopefully, this clears up any confusion you may have. May 20, 2013

Laura D asked: I have looked at this playhouse on several different websites. Wal-Mart has the same dimensions listed as your site does, Amazons listed dimensions are much smaller as are the dimensions listed on ToysRUs. I am trying to determine if there are two different Playhouses that look alike or what the difference is or if this is just an error. The model number is listed as the same on all websites. Do you manufacture another Playhouse that looks like this one.????????????????????? May 13, 2014
