My husband and I regularly take 2-mile walks down nature trails. After the first mile, my daughter would get tired of her stroller and start crying to be carried. I had a front carrier, but she is so heavy that the weight on my shoulders would give me a headache. This carrier works great for long walks, since it makes her feel like nothing at all on my back. I can even do housework with her on my back if I have to! The padding is really comfy, and the lumbar support seems to take a lot of the weight off of my shoulders. I switched her to the front when she needed to nap on an all day outing, and she slept in it perfectly -- did I mention that she is a good-sized toddler? I really feel like I got the most bang for my buck, and I'm looking forward to using it with the new baby that's coming this fall!

This is a nice, affordable alternative to more expensive ergonomic carriers. My baby is about 25 lbs and only 9 months old, so it can be hard on my back carrying him around. I frequently use a ring sling, but needed something to distribute his weight more evenly for longer outings. I also wanted something I would feel secure enough to do a backpack style carry. So far, the Union has met those needs.
