The children love to play with it and use it for puppet shows as well as a food vendor/shop. However, it's not very stable and falls over often. I am sometimes concerned about the children's safety.
My kids enjoy this puppet theater very much. They love to put on shows and use their imagination. If you leave the doors open while the kids play it becomes much sturdier. Overall, it's worth the money.
This puppet theater is a great indoor activity, especially for those rainy days. I have had many hours of smiles and chuckles as my two grandsons (5 years and 19 months) present grandma wih their puppet shows.
I bought this for my grandchildren and was thrilled with the experience. It was simple to put together and the fact that it had a place to store the puppets was a bonus. They have not stopped playing with it since they got it. One comment - if the child leans over the stage it can tip although it wasn't a problem because it is relatively light.
Pretend play means more than just fun for your children. For decades, young children have been engaging in role and pretend play. There are many reasons for this, first and foremost because children love to imitate what they see the grownups around them doing. Studies have shown that role and pretend playing can actually help your child's imagination grow. Pretend play fosters a child's cognitive development by encouraging them to problem-solve, by giving them social and linguistic skills, and by developing certain areas of their thought processes that lead to academic achievement. Children between the ages of two and six especially enjoy engaging in pretend play. Hand Puppets are perfect for this type of role play. A great web site for puppets is [@]. Children can act out scenarios in real life, and emulate the normal routines they see every day. Allowing that role and pretend play lasts around five years' time for most children, a set of puppets is really an investment for a young child. Hand puppets sets come in many styles and many animal and people characters. You can find endless array of puppets which helps ensure that your child will never become bored. Add a puppet theatre and your child will be able to create ‘shows’ for themselves, family, and all their friends! Whatever puppets and puppet theatre set you decide on, know that you're looking at an investment into your child's future. The value of hand puppets goes way beyond giving your child just another toy to play with, it helps a little mind develop and a little imagination soar!
my daughter is almost three, and i expected her to love this, but she hasn't touched it since day two. its very flimsy, falls over easily, and for this price i just expected a little better. step 2 is where i get all my daughters toys, but this one was lame.
it needs to have supports to keep it from tipping over. other than that it is perfect.
The children and staff at the day care center love this pupper theater! It provides endless hours of fun and creativity.
Both kids love it...ages 3 and 6. Guests get a kick out of the puppet shows they put on for us. One of their favorite toys!
We have many step 2 items, and this caught my eye as a great tool to help my two and five year olds express themselves freely. They are inspired by the puppets and creative play involved in their own 'story making' That aside, I discovered while assembling this *Which took twenty minutes, tops..Including sticker placement* that I was blessed with TWO sets of curtains, as well as puppets. It must have been a packing error, clearly...but none the less, I suppose I've received extras in case any damage is to occur to either curtains/puppets. Which I will add are made EXTREMELY well. Not flimsy, badly sewn, etc. Curtains are a rich, plush velour, as well as puppets. However, tho I DO have the light, I am unable to mount it because I found no hardware included. I have searched the box inside and out, as well as all pieces to see where they may have been hidden. But to no avail. I suppose for now it can do without the light, but would be nice for added play effect.
