My granddaughter immediately fell in love with this cottage. It was fairly easy to put together with a stable frame. I would say the roof of it wasn't as sturdy as the rest but once put together it was fine. She enjoys the doorbell, sometimes a bit too much! The sink she hasn't had a whole lot of use out of yet but she is only 16 months, so she doesn't quite know what to do with it. I am sure she will. The shutters in one window is a nice touch my grandchildren play peekaboo with them all the time. I would recommend this to parents who want their children's imagination to grow.

This is the first "big" present we got our one year old son for Christmas. I was putting it together a few days ahead of time so Santa could bring it to our little man. Low and behold, there was no door.

We contacted the store we got it from and they would check to see if we could get a door. We may have to send it back, if not, and buy a new one.

Now my son either gets no big gift or a partially built gift. Looks like we will have a blue Christmas without the door.

Comments about Step2 Neat & Tidy Cottage II™:

My mother bought this for my children (ages 2.5 and 1.5) in May. We set it up on Memorial Day and it was super easy to put together. My kids throughly enjoyed playing in it and the box it came in (even though the doorbell doesn't work). We immediately called the company and they sent us a door. Upon receiving the door another phone call wa made and they sent the doorbell (correct broke piece). That doorbell doesn't work either. I then called the company again and explained everything to them again (which they already had on file because the woman I was speaking to told me about the wrong part being sent originally and I hadn't mentioned it yet. Today, I got what is now the THIRD doorbell and this one doesn't work either! Seriously?! I am beyond frustrated! I know it's not my batteries because I have tried two different brands.

I bought this for my three grandsons. 3,2 and 1 year. They loved it. I found only one problem, so far, Between the door hinge and the mailbox overhang, there is a very small gap close to hinge, where little fingers can and did get pinched much to the surprise of the 1yr old. The 2yr also got his fingers pinched. The overhang on the mailbox was really poor planning. The kids were having a good time with it regardless. I guess they will have to learn where to place their fingers or stock up on bandaids.

Comments about Step2 Neat & Tidy Cottage II™:

As a Step2 ambassador, I was provided this adorable outdoor playhouse for review. We loved the Neat & Tidy Cottage II for a few reasons, including the built-in floor, real life doorbell and swinging door, as well as tasteful color palette and design. My kids love having working shutters too, as it makes them feel secluded in their own little house and is perfect for independent play. Setup was a breeze and could be done with one person if needed. Our playhouse has been outside for a month in the hot Vegas sun and is not showing signs of any weather decay at all.

Comments about Step2 Neat & Tidy Cottage II™:

As a Step2 Ambassador, our family was sent this house (at no cost) to review. My kids' grandparents have been wanting a playhouse at their home for a while and were so excited to put this up in their backyard.

The setup was really easy and can be done with just one person if needed.

My kids couldn't wait to play with this house! They visit their grandparents' house once or twice a week and play with it every time they are there. They especially enjoy playing with the grill and sink. My son also likes to play peek-a-boo with the shutters. The working doorbell is a fun feature and it's not overly loud or annoying the way some electronic toys can be.

My in-laws appreciate that the color scheme looks good outside their home and it's also nice that it is gender neutral. They also have the Step2 Alpine Ridge Climber and the two color schemes look well together.

I love that this house has a built in floor. If you decide to put the house outside (like we did), there are small drain holes for water/snow. Having the floor means that after a week of raining days, my kids can still play in the house on the first sunny day without becoming a big muddy mess.

Overall, it's a wonderful little house that's great for boys and girls alike.

Comments about Step2 Neat & Tidy Cottage II™:

With the help of The Step2 Company, we were able to donate a playhouse to our 4 year old's school. Logan was able to go with us to drop the Neat & Tidy II playhouse off at his school and he was able to test it out. The playhouse has a working doorbell that was a big hit with Logan. It also has a swinging door, small play grill, little sink/counter, a spot for a flower bed, mail slot and working shutters. Awesome for pretend play! My 4 year old is off the charts in height (he's as tall as most 1st graders) and he still easily fit underneath the house, so it's definitely a toy that will grow with your kiddo and can be used by multiple siblings. I love the size of this house because it doesn't take up a ton of space and can be put inside a playroom or classroom if you'd like. Several children can also enjoy it at the same time.
