This has been a great addition to my boys toy room, and our in home daycare. It allows for actual building and keeps all the kids entertained. We have a large collection of step 2 products because of there durability and this will not be our last.
my grandson has had this for 3 weeks now and is happy and plays all day with this and his only 3
My grandson got this workbench for his 4th birthday and loves it! He couldn't wait for it to be assembled and probably would have slept with it if it had been more portable. The drill really works and he is very proud of himself when he screws the bolts into the table. I know many hours of enjoyment will be had.
NICE PROJECTS, BUT Can only make one at a time because the parts are the same. but overall, satisfied and 3 yr old loves it.
My 3 year old grandson loves it and all his friends that come over want to play with it. He is not able to make some of the items by himself so the toy will grow with him as he develops the skills.
We gave this to our 2+ year old grandson and he loves it. He loved putting together the interlocking foam (wooden-looking) blocks and playing with the power drill. It even has a reverse that works! Very cool!!
I love this toy! My 3 year old recently developed a huge liking for tools and building. His father was letting him hammer real nails and screw real screws into wood which is totally an accident waiting to happen. This toy provides nearly the same satisfaction as the real thing. The best part is that he gets to actually build something with the precut wood-foam pieces. My husband said that they were very easy to build together. If the finished piece falls apart (some just interlock with no screws) my son can easily fix it himself with the interlocking pieces. We have only 2 criticisms: 1)they don't give you enough pieces to make all the projects at once. The pieces are interchangable therefore you can't have some projects built simultaneously. My husband wanted to make the rocket and space crawler so my 2 sons could play a sort of space themed pretend game, but they couldn't because the 2 projects used the same pieces. 2) Too few tools. Overall it is a great learning tool while having a great time. TIP: We bought extra realistic toy tools to add more variety.
We bought this for our son for his 2nd birthday, and while he hasn't figured out the projects he can't put down the tools! He spends a lot of time at the workbench playing with his power tools. We're happy that the product is educational and has both large and small motor skill development components. [...]quality product, great price - couldn't be happier!
very nice workbench, lots of fun. my son is 5 and i would say that is about as old as i would go for this. he loves following the blueprints on there to build things, though. my daughter is almost 3, she loves it, its more her speed, but she is a little young for the blueprints just yet. overall very nice, double check the size, it is a bit smaller than it looks, but still great. enough things to create lots of things with. great quality like all step 2.
This workbench is wonderful. It has lots of projects that your child can put together. They are like little puzzles too which is great for problem solving! All kids love imitative play so this is a great one for little boys and their dads. It's also very attrative for you decorative moms!
The older children love to make new things with the "wood". The directions can sometimes be hard to follow, but it is fun coming up with new things. The drill is a hit, and the children love to screw and unscrew the bolts.
Not only did my grandchildren love the Workshop, but the adults enjoyed playing with the children with it.
My Grandson, London (2 1/2 yrs.) just loves his workshop. He loves putting things together and then taking them apart. Grandma & Grandpa purchased the workshop for Easter...much better than giving a lot of candy. My daughter said that she loves the shelf on the bottom to store all of the pieces. It is realistic and a great learning tool. Boys just love to tinker no matter what the age. My daughter would recommend it for any child 2 and up.

Thought this was really a neat workshop - actual items to make!
My son loves playing with this toy. Most toys don't hold his attention as long as this one. I plan to buy the set of pieces that will allow him to build even more things. At 3, he needs help building the items shown, but now he thinks he can fix anything in the house with his drill and hammer--so funny!
Pre-school children love this product!
i went online and compared quite a few workbenches and i'm extremely happy i decided to buy this one! it is very sturdy and quite stable. it doesn't tip over like a few of the benches our friends own! my 17 month old loves it, especially the real working drill and the hammer. (some parts are small so we took those away until he's a little older.) the number of cool projects you can make with the "wood" pieces is amazing. the drawer and bottom shelf provide lots of storage. this is the best tool bench on the market.
Our daughter loves to play with this workshop and pretend she's building just like daddy. It is a terrific toy.
I bought this for my 4 year old grandson for Christmas. All 3 grandkids loved it from the start. The drill really works and the kids spent hours buliding things and drilling screws.
I had to buy one for my 3 year old grandson for his birthday this past week, and boy you should have seen his eyes light up when he saw it. this is a great toy, they will enjoy many hours of imaginative play with it.
Great toy for my 3 year old, especially the puzzle pieces to make up the different items. It will certainly come handy with our second one.
Santa got this for my 3 yr old and he loves it! My 6 yr old loves it just as much. It is a very good investment as they can play usually up to a couple hours at a time and not get bored with it.
We bought this workshop for our 2 year old son for Christmas and it was the best gift we ever bought! His older sister even likes to make things with it too! I highly recommand this to anyone with a child! I would like to get more wood pieces for it though! A child's imagination is never stopping with it!
My son 4 1/2 & daughter 3 1/2 love this work bench so much!!! It is really great except very hard to share for 2!! I wish it was a bit bigger & taller!! But they play w ith it all the time.. This was all he wanted Santa to bring him... Step 2 makes really great fun productts!! If your son loves tool's, this is a sure winner!!!
My granson has autism and he loves the workbench. Would recomend for any child.
Kids can actually build projects using easy-to-follow blueprints. [...]
The thing that sets this apart from other children's workbenches I looked at is the many projects and activities the child can do with it. The projects also suit a wide age range. My just turned three year old can't quite build the "wood" projects without help yet, but he can practice screwing the bolts into holes in the workbench and putting the nuts on the bolts. The battery powered screwdriver/wrench works great and even lets you know when the bolt is tight. One thing I would suggest is to go ahead and buy the additional "Soft and Sturdy Building Projects" set. This way you can build multiple projects at the same time without having to take the others apart first. The set also includes a hammer and saw, but there's really nothing they can be used for. This is a great building set for developing motor skills.
I impressed with the realism of the workbench. My grandson age 3, and a playmate age 4 were able to saw threw a foam board.
This workshop is loaded with fun and creative interaction for the kids and grown ups as well. It is a hit!
After my husband and I both researched on-line and in the stores, this workbench seemed to be the best choice. It was the least expensive, had rave reviews and not only was "pretend play" but included the foam blocks so our son (aged 21 months when he received it at Christmas) could grow into the toy and actually "make things." He was already following his dad around prior to receiving this gift whenever my husband did projects around the house stealing the tape measure, hammer or screwdriver. And could identify each one and retrieve them by name if asked. So this was by far the first thing he ran to on Christmas morning. It says for ages 3 and up but I just put the small nuts away so he wouldn't lose them until he could use them as he got older and understood how they worked. He loves using the electric drill to screw in the bolts to the bench itself and clamp pieces of the foam into the clamp. This is a great toy and the price can't be beat especially compared to similar items offered at much higher prices by competitors. And those toys can't make "projects." My son loves this toy and will love it even more as he grows into the more advanced features of it! A great buy!
Santa brought this workbench to our son. He took to building some of the idea projects right away. Unfortunately, I wish he had gotten it even at a younger age. I don't know that he will stay interested forever. Our son is 5. I think this real project workbench would be best for 3 1/2 year olds and up.
Easy to assemble and the children have already had hours of fun.
Our 20 month old grandson absolutely loves his workshop.
My son plays with it then goes to the vanities we bought the girls. MY GIRLS cannot get enough of it. They like the screws and other tools. The only thing I was disappointed in was the real projects> I thought that it was real would. not fake wood. We just keep buying things that I hope is challenging to our son. He is very engineering with his toys. this is great for all our children. We will keep buying from step 2 because of made in usa. thank you step 2. keep up the good work.
our 3 yr old daughter asked 'santa' for a workbench & this really met our expectations. she makes something new & different with it every day.
Nice workbench with plenty of options for kids. Glad I purchased.
We purchased this toolbench as a Christmas present for our 21 month old son. He absolutely loves it. The working drill is great and he has already figured out how to drill the bolts into the holes on the bench. We haven't given him the "wood" pieces yet - we think that can wait until he's older. For now, he's content with it just the way it is.
This product really allows my daughters to use their imagination. They love making and taking apart the projects. They play for hours making things. My husband is jealous!
We looked at a few different work benches and we liked this one because it is durable and the fact that you can make things with the foam wood. My son is having a blast with this!
This is not as interactive as some of the other tool benches. There is a hammer and a saw, but no use for them; not even a place to pretend to use these. The drill goes forwards and backwards. The wood building part is interesting and allows kids to "build" their own projects.
It's great activity for a child to do alone as well as with a parent. It is fun for everyone! Even my 5 yr. old daughter enjoyed playing with her 2 yr old brother's workshop. The "screws" are great for my little guy's fine motor skills. I would recommend this to anyone interested!
I thnkit is just for older children my son is 2/1/2 and there is not much building he can do on his own with ths
I bought this for my 16 month old son who loves to help Daddy with his tools. He absolutly loves it. This was his favorite Christmas gift and he plays with ir every day. It is a perfect size for him (he can just reach the top) and will allow him to grow and play with it for years to come. I would buy this again!
Our son was very excited to get it all out of the box, Christmas morning. It was very easy to put together.. did I mention it was made in the USA... We strived to purchase all of our Christmas gifts this year, and will continue to do so in the future, either made in the USA or somewhere other than China... the safety of our children is of utmost importance. This product delivers that. It has only been a week since Christmas, and the workshop has already had alot of use....
The Real Projects Workshop is a wonderful toy that enhances imaginative play and motor skills. Assembly is minimal, and the unit is very sturdy.
The foam "wood" pieces interlock easily and hold together very well. There are "blueprints" for several projects, and many of them do not require the included nuts and bolts. I hope there are additional pieces and projects availabe!
My 3.5 yr old son love his new tool bench. He is having a ball putting together the wood pieces and building things and drilling the screws into the bench and back out is a constant. Now he is just like Dad!.
My 4 1/2 year old son was excited to see this from Santa but it was my 2 1/2 year old nephew who has had the most fun with it. My son wants to only make what the plans show so he has gotten a little frustrated at times. The only down side of the product we have found is that the screws (even with the drill) do not always go in smoothly making it frustrating for little hands. Other than that it seems like a quality toy that can be used over the years
A Three year old plays with this item and having fun
Overall this is a very good toy. We purchased this for our three year old son, and he likes it very much as does our five year old. Our older son can assemble the "wood projects" on his own, but our three year old still needs some help. I was very glad I purchased the additional wood pieces or we wouldn't have had enough to make more than two projects without disassembling the first ones. The only disappointment in this toy was when we were assembling it at about 9 o'clock at night Christmas Eve we discovered that one of the plastic pieces (part of the vice) that you screw into the workbench was broken. It still went together, but for the money we paid I didn't expect to get a cracked piece. I would buy this again, just not wait until the last minute to open and check the parts so I could have exchanged it for a different one before Christmas.
Ages one through eight enjoy playing with this. [...]
Our 2 year old grandson was so excited when he opened his workbench that he did not want to open anything else. He played with it for hours and has played with it every day since Christmas. We originally ordered one from another company but were not satisfied with the quality. We then ordered your workbench and were very impressed with it. The projects were wonderful and so exciting to our grandson. It is sturdy, realistic looking and has provided him with hours of fun already.
We bought this for my 23 month old son for Christmas. He (and his 4 year old sister) love it. I like how the drill will screw and unscrew the screws into the bench. I don't like that there is nothing specific to hammer into the bench (there are 13 holes in the bench but they are all for screws). It would have been nice to have a couple of nails and a couple holes to hammer them into. My kids still hammer the screws but it's not really the same. My son is still a bit too young to build the projects but they look pretty neat. All in all we love this bench and would buy it again.
We purchased the workshop for my 2 year old grandson. He absolutely loves it and enjoys putting together the "wooden" projects with his dad. His favorite part of the toolbench is the battery-operated drill which he has mastered. He screws and unscrews into the top of the workbench like a pro. This was truly worth the money and a great toy. We'll be purchasing additional "wood" to add to the items he can build.
Overall, we were pleased with the realistic nature of the bench & wooden pieces and the overall quality of the items. Although the "wooden" pieces have many blueprints of projects for toddlers to make, the bench itself is quite small in height for our 3 & almost 5 year-old sons. The bench doesn't have ample storage for all of the "wooden" pieces which I dislike. I would like to see a bigger bench for toddler-aged children. There isn't one out there-this is the closest we found. Finally, the drill that came with the set didn't work when we opened it Christmas day, so our sons had to wait for a replacement drill to play with their present.
Perfect for my 2 year old who loves to "help!" He received this from Santa and if my son hadn't received anything else he wouldn't have minded. The tools work and are realistic looking, but not strong enough to hurt. The toolbench is not very tall, so might not work for older children but perfect for 2 to 4 year old.

We bought this for my 2 year old for Christmas and he just loves it! It keeps him busy for a long time! It was the best rated tool bench out there and half the price as the others! It also has so much more to do on it then the others. And I love that my son is only two and will get so many years of use out of it!
My grandson loved ..this ..He is 20 months and I thought he would be a little young ...but he was able to pound the bolts in and use his drill over the bits...
The foam wood was more fun to throw ..so we have put that up till he is a little older.
the very best gift

I bought this workbench for my 3 almost 4 year old for Christmas. He has absolutely loves it. He is already able to make some projects without any help. Compared to other workbenches, this one is the best since it actually has projects to make. The foam wood is great. Overall I am very pleased with the product. The only minor complaints I have are the drill bit and the saw. The drill bit doesn't serve a purpose other than to just pretend you are making a hole. The saw leaves permanent marks in the "wood". Other than that, it is an excellent product.
Easy to set up. My boys have a good time playing together with it.
The workbench was a Christmas present for our 1 1/2 yr old son and it was a hit with him AND our 3 yr old daughter. The drawer is difficult to open and close, but aside from that, it's just a blast to play with! From order to delivery to setup, we are very happy with the company & product.
My son got this nifty workshop for Christmas and he adores it. Mostly he likes that it really works and he can use the "wood" pieces to build things. I feel like the design is really going to trigger his imagination and make for meaningful play time.
This product has provided my 3 year old with lots of imaginative play. He loves the drill. It was easy to assemble and seems to be very durable .
We bought this for our grrandson for Christmas. We assembled it prior to Christmas morning so he could play with it right away. It was great! He played with all day and had a blast. Thanks Step2
It was very easy to put together! Well it was easy to watch my son put it together and he didn't find it fraustrating at all.( he had spend three previous evenings, along with my daughter-in-law assembling other toys) It was purchased for a three old girl but her six year old sister loved i
