I absolutely love this table and so does my daughter. The "pockets" on the side provide plenty of storage for her coloring books, art and construction paper. The upper shelf holds her colored pencils, markers and paints. The cups are perfect for holding paint brushes or anything else she may be using. I also love how easy it is to clean. One or two clorox wipes will clean up the table (all paints and markers are washable in our household.) The movable upper shelf is a nice feature, when it is just my daughter she has more than enough room to spread out, and when she has a friend over I can easily adjust the shelf so all of the art supplies can be reached easily from both sides, no more fighting. My daughter hasn't complained, but I think chairs would have been better than stools.

We use this desk for our two young children. It is nice that they can sit across from each other while coloring, painting, drawing, etc. The inserted cups keep crayons and markers organized. The stools hide under the desk when not in use which is a great spacesaver.

This table is perfect for our girls ages 2 and 4. They can both sit and have their own space. No more fighting over who is coloring on who's paper. Our 5-year old loves his new table and I love having a place for all of his art supplies.(He puts them away too!) Friends are also able to participate with the extra stool. As always Step2 stuff is sturdy and well-built with a fun style. The ONLY downside was not have the screw holes done for assembly - but assembly still wasn't too bad.

We got this so that hopefully both our kids (currently 3 yrs and 19 months) will have a place to sit and color, play with playdough, etc. So far, the 3 yr old loves it. She makes it a priority everyday to work at her "craft table." She has even used it as a surface to work puzzles on. Our 19 month old seems interested, but really isn't at the stage yet to sit down for very long. I think this is a great little table that should grow with them. My only concern is that we had a little trouble with the stools sliding out from under my kids when placed on our hardwood floors. Maybe when they get a little more used to sitting on a stool, this won't be a problem. Overall, a great product!

My kids use this desk everyday for artwork and homework. It is very durable and easy to clean. The holes didn't line up for everything during assembly but otherwise very easy to assemble. Bought this art table for my grand daughter (2 years old). It is just the right size, but big enough to take her through at least kindergarten. Sturdy enough to lean on. Lots of storage space. Can be assembled signle handed, but is a breeze with two people.

My son is 3 years old. Since we have put it together, he has been using this table to color. It holds plenty of crayons. The old drawback is that the stool doesn't look comfortable for sitting long. Hopefully he will use this a lot more for other craft project.

We often have a friend over to play with our little girl and this it great to have for both of the kids to play with the desk. NO FIGHTING! We also have another baby on the way and this will be great to have when they are both wanting to write, read & color.

The desk is built very well and I put it together without my husband being home. Hardest part was finding all of his tools!

It also cleans very easily. The first time my daughter colored off her paper I about panicked, thinking "Well, that didn't last long". Some mild soap and water and it cleaned up good as new. We haven't had markers on it yet, but I am not too worried.

This is a great desk. My daughter uses it practically everyday from eating at it, doing homework, coloring, combing her big barbie doll head, to painting on it. It is very well constructed and sturdy. It is on the large size, so be sure to have plenty of space to place it, but it really is a nice activity table. We bought it last Christmas when she was 4, yet a tall 4. It is a little short for her, but she can still sit at it comfortably. We really like this table and it is great for storing all of her art stuff like paints, colored pencils, coloring books and large drawing pads. I also like the fact that it came with 2 stools so we didn't have to search for chairs to fit it.

This was a gift for my soon to be 2 year old daughter because she absolutely loves to color. I put it together myself without any problems. She is able to sit down and color at any time without me having to get out the crayons and coloring books. It is a little bigger than some of its competitors but has plenty of room for future crafts and playdoh. Her washable crayons wipe right off of table and chair with a paper towel and water. I believe if I sit with my child when he is doing homework, he is more likely to focus and get it done faster. I am not large, so I can actually work at the other side of the table. That way I can be available and still get some work done. The design allows us to see each other, which should inspire creativity or concentration. I love the colorful design, and I can change what books are displayed on the side to reflect our current interests. The slots also allow oversized books to be stored.
I think this table is well thought-out and well-designed. It is great that the middle divider can be easily lifted off to create a larger table surface which can be used for larger craft projects.

We purchased this for Christmas 2008 and my 2- and 4-year-old love it. It encourages their desire to be creative - they can initiate artwork on their own, without a grown-up having to get out crayons, markers, paper, etc. The overhead shelf is great as it keeps scissors, glue and paints out of reach of the little one, though a light underneath it would be beneficial to eliminate shadows (we will be putting one up). The storage is adequate (though never enough!) and keeps things handy. Clean-up is EXCELLENT for washable crayons, markers and paints. We struggle a little with "old-fashioned" crayons (which get quickly thrown away), but can even remove those marks with some elbow grease and a good cleaner (which hasn't harmed the desktop surface!)...after two months of heavy use, the artdesk still looks brand new. The primary color scheme would not be my first choice - maybe something more neutral that would help it blend into a room...but the funtionality way overrides that. The size is perfect - both girls will use it through at least age six, and the quality/durability is what you expect from Step 2 - HIGH. Best of all, BOTH girls can work together without fighting over seats, space, or having to take turns! Final note - would've been nice to see it in person first - but rest assured its a great buy!

We got this for our daughter's 5th birthday and she loves it. This table has a much more generously sized work surface than Step2's smaller art center, which we got for her a couple years ago and recently donated to Goodwill. I wish they'd had this larger art center back then!

One con: the work surface is white in color, so it gets "dirty" quickly and some art medium cannot easily be "erased" (colored pencils, in particular). But this is a minor con. All in all, this table is a great art center and a super value.

Instead of tubs of workbooks and coloring books and markers and crayons and pencils, I now have one place where my children (ages 3 and 4) can sit and create works of art with everything they need in reach! They can also put away all of their own art supplies now without wondering where everything goes. This is a great find.

My grandaughter who is 4 loves her writers desk, she spends hours and hours sitting at it. I purchased many arts and craft items that she can play with on her own and both of us get to spend time with each other making crafts. It also has a great storage area to place her preschool books so she can sit and learn. This was a wonderful purchase and I definitely will look for other items to purchase.

All around wonderful product! Bought this for Christmas for my 2 and 6 year old. They have their own space on each side, and plenty of storage!! Great quality!! Only down fall is that you have to put it together, but I am also lazy when it comes to that!

This table is AWESOME. My folks got it for my almost-two year-old for Christmas. I love that I can put the cup of crayons on the hutch to keep them out of her reach when she is unsupervised. I am sure this will grow with her very well. The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is that it I wish it came with chairs rather than stools... or came with no seating for a lesser price.

After looking at this and other tables for toddler/preschool age kids, and reading lots of reviews, we bought this for our almost 2 yr old son for Christmas. It was easy to assemble and we love it as much as he does! The top shelf above the table is a little too tall for him right now, but we knew it would be and we wanted something he could grow into. It's a great place to keep crayons and fingerpaints for now - easy for me to access, but out of his reach. He loves the storage cups and the bottom shelves for storage. We are looking forward to many years of use from this!

This was a gift for our 5 year old son. He previously kept drawings and papers all over our kitchen. Now he has a place for all his "stuff". Very well constructed desk should last for several more years for our current 2 year old when she gets ready.

We have a 4 year old boy and a 2 year old girl whom always fought over craft space. This visually creates "assigned space" and both kids love it. The cups come out for easy cleaning. Surface cleans easily. Design could be better if a light was under the overhead storage bridge. But this is not enough of a drawback for us to not like it. I expect the chairs (barstool style with no backs) to go before the table. We'll use it daily.

Okay so we read all of the text about the product from various websites and totally thought that it was similar to the other desk from Step 2 with a pull up table with storage underneath for papers, etc and also had a light. Well this is just a table, a really nice table, but not what we thought it was going to be and no light. We should have saved[$]and bought the smaller one.

We got this table for our 3 year old and he just loves it. The table cleans up very easily and has plenty of storage, even for the larger coloring books. I love that it is created for 2 children and comes with seats for both of my boys. We have also had 4 children sitting at this table, with space for all of them.

This is my grandson's own personal space. He works on puzzles, practices his writing, colors, plays with play-dough, paints, cuts, and loves his new activity work desk. The only change I would recommend are the stools. My grandson is using children chairs from a previous table and chair set for the cushioned seat and back support instead of the stools. He Loves It!

They say this desk sits two and that might be great for small kids but my daughter likes her space. I would like to see a better chair then the stools however. I chair with a back would be perfect.

This has been a great way to organize all of my 3 year old's arts and crafts. They used to be in several different places and now they are consolidated and he feels like he has his own space to do his own thing.

We really like this table for coloring, finger painting, and other crafts. The stools that come with it are not the greatest quality, but it is no problem to pull up other chairs. Both kids really enjoy having their own separate workspace. I would like it more if the top shelf were a little sturdier. It is able to move from one side of the table to the other, but tends to tump over if one child pulls on it at all. Great bookshelf spaces below, too.

This is just another great product from Step2...my 2 daughters love it and have enough space for both of them to color, write or paint. Lots of storage for all their markers, brushes, paper, etc. Made out of great quality stuff it's a bit big for my dining room but that's ok because like I said there is plenty of room for both girls to do their thing. We purchased this for our 3 year old who needed a desk for his "homework" like his older siblings. It has ample storage for the crayons, markers, pencils, books, and papers. It easily adjusts from a bigger table for 1 to a shared table for two. I see it being useful through about age 6 and would definitely recommend it. I set out to buy a small wooden table and am so glad I found this instead. Like all Step2 products, it seems to be well made and has a thoughtful design.

There aren't many options for art centers on the market so I was elated to find this. This item went together in a snap and is very sturdy. We set it up for two students to use in a 4 year old classroom and the children adore it... and the teachers love the storage for markers, crayons and other art supplies. It is a great piece. My only change I would make is to use chairs with backs. The stools are okay but we traded them out for real chairs and then there is not a chance of someone falling off or bumped heads!

love this table, i really love that it changes from 1 to 2 seats, and the design of it, the way 2 kids can work together while each having their own space. the only thing i would change is to add some more storage, like a lift up desktop would be nice for big sheets. it really is a great table.

GREAT Product! Our niece (3 years old) has the stand-up double sided Art Easel by Step 2 and our son (2 years old) enjoys doing his "art" so we wanted to get something that they could both enjoy for our house...this art table was the perfect solution! The table is a good size for one or two children, the storage is wonderful and it is very easy to clean. Our son LOVES the table and so do we. My sister is now wanting to replace the easel with this table for my niece...a little more expensive but well worth the money!!
