I bought this desk for my 4 1/2 yr old daughter. She was constantly drawing, coloring and doing projects and needed an area of her own. Its a great desk and fits everything and then some. My only complaints are that the stool it comes with is very uncomfortable for her and a regular chair with a back would have been better. Also, the light isnt very bright and the batteries have died already and its not that easy to get in there and unscrew it to replace the batteries. Other than that, its a great desk and Im happy with it and so is my daughter!

It was a very good choice we made. We had been looking for a desk for our 3 year old. I did comparation among several different but similar products, and this is the best. only thing I wish is more color to choose, but it does not bother. we love this art desk, my son really enjoy it.

This desk is great. My grand daughter is six and loves to read,write and color and do crafts. This desk has all the storage she needs to do it all. The stool being seperate from the desk is a plus too, as she is tall and the other desk's with the stool made into them, would not fit her.
The construction is good, and cleaning paint or crayons off it is easy too.

We got this exact same desk 3 years ago for our older son who is now 6. He uses it almost everyday to color and create! Our younger son was always standing beside him trying to use it too. It worked for a while, but we just recently got one for our younger son who is 3. They both love sitting side by side and coloring at their own desks!! The ONLY thing that is different about the new one is that it came with a stool instead of a chair. The stool is much shorter than the chair was and our 3 year old has trouble reaching his desk. He prefers to stand. But I'm sure in a year it will be the perfect size. NO BIG DEAL! The desks itself is ideal for ages 2-7! Thanks for a great product for our kids!

My 5 year old nephew has this desk and wasn't ready to part with it so I bought a new one for my daughter,23 months, and she LOVES this desk. She loves to color and paint and this gives her freedom to do both on a level of her own. No more sitting at the "big" table with limited space in her high chair...now she has her own space with plenty of room for her colors and papers that she can access any time she wishes! I do wish the stool was a chair with a back and has some type of non-slip on the bottom, but otherwise it's a wonderful product that lasts for years and years!

This desk is exactly what I was envisioning for my daughter who is almost four. It has ample storage for books, coloring books, papers etc. I love the little write-on/wipe-off cover that lifts up for more storage on the desk. Assembly is very easy and all the pieces are lightweight. [...] I expect my daughter to get a ton of use out of this, at least for storage. I haven't seen her sit too long on the stool, she ends up standing, or sitting on the floor. So not sure if it's because the stool isn't comfortable or if it's just her age. My three year old son made a bee-line for this desk on Christmas morning. He loves his "big-boy art desk" and especially enjoys turning on the little overhead light by himself. I love the deep wells on both sides of the desk as the hold lots of coloring books and paper. I would have given it 5 stars but for the difficult assembly. Instead of pre-drilled holes, there were only dimples in the plastic where the screws were supposed to enter. To secure the top piece, I also used longer screws that I had at home instead of the ones included to hold it together more tightly. Overall, though, I really love the look and functionality of this product! My son would definitely agree!

The desk is so much easier for my daughter to use than at the dining or toddler table. The product is larger than I expected which is great. She has a large work surface and lots of places to put crayons, markers and store paper. Very easy to assemble,lightweight to move from room to room and easy to wipe clean. The light is a also very nice feature. One disappointment is that the storage in the back of the desk is not what I expected because it is more of a shelf than a than a cubby to hold books like the sides.

The only thing that I didn't like was how the step 2 emblem was attached to the product. It is twisted sideways. It makes me think that the person who applies the emblem really doesn't care about how the finished product looks.

The table is great for my 2.5 yrs old child. We could dump many of her things in it and finding is quite easy. The height is apt for children till age 6. The provisions to keep art items, pencils and other small things are nice. Instead of the stool type, had it been lean back chair, it would be good for children.

We have been looking for an art table for our four year old for quite awhile. We purchased this one after reviewing several other brands. The table was perfect. The stool is the perfect height for our daughter and the open space below the table allows for a chair if you don't like the stool. This was definitely worth the money!

I bought this product (green) for my 2 1/2 year old son. He absolutely loves it and so do I. He likes to rearrange his art supplies putting them in all the different storage compartment areas. He especially loves how the desk top opens up to a hidden storage area. He cannot reach the top (yellow) area yet but in a couple more years it should be easy to. Unfortunately the top (yellow) area requires it to be screwed on, otherwise it will fall down even with the slightest bumps. The desk top and bottom are stable without being screwed together. I like that because I can detach the top and bottom to transport it better. One thing I don't like about this product is that the stool's colors don't match the desk at all. It's an awful combination of colors. A red and beige stool to a green, yellow, and white desk.. doesn't go well together. It's a good desk however. I would definitely buy Step 2 products again.

I have bought 2 desk this week and this one was a bit disappointing. The first one bought at [...] and the other at [...] and they didn't have a display for the product. The product is big and light weight which is bad for 28 pound 2 year old. I have to get something for the stool so it does slide everywhere wood floors. My girl is small, 28lbs at 2 and a week and she know her abc's. It is 2 big for her. The stool slides on the floor she has cried twice today over it AND i got it today.

This desk is absolutely wonderful! I would highly recommend!! Our daughter is four and LOVES it!! Uses it everyday...her youger sister (two) received the "write desk", which is also fabulous, but I do wish we had purchased two of the Master Art Desks-it's easy to grow in to. I would say age two and up for this wonderfully fabulous desk! You will be VERY happy with it! It will probably last forever too!

my 3 1/2 year old son loves this desk and has been using it everyday to draw and organize all his markers. great storage area for drawing pads and books. the dry erase board is used constantly and it seems very sturdy for a toddler or preschooler to use for years to come. great product!

We bought this for our Godchild for Christmas as she had no real place in her room to color, paint, etc. After looking around and reading reviews, this seemed to be the best all-around option and it was. As others have said, the light could be brighter, but there is plenty of storage room for supplies, paper, and coloring boooks.

Bought this desk for my 2 1/2 year old girl for Christmas. We think she loves it. She's not old enough yet to draw on her own, but I outfitted the desk with tons of stickers and she sits there all the time.

There should be a kit available for the desk with crayons, markers, stickers, and a couple of coloring books (would have to pay for it extra of course), so you don't have to buy it all individually.

I bought this desk for my 19 month old for christmas. It was very easy to assemble, and has plenty of storage for his books. We have used it for crayons and finger paints and it has performed well. Easy to clean. The stool is not great for smaller children, he has trouble getting on it and not sliding off. Also, the way the light screws into the top will not make it easy to change the batteries when needed. Overall, I really like this desk.

Our three year old and five year old love it! Combined with washable crayons and washable markers and you can't go wrong. Our only complaint is that there is not quite enough room to store all the kids coloring and art books. The obvious solution is just to buy another, of course.

This Activity Desk was purchased for my daughter for her second birthday and what a hit!!
The top shelf will not be able to be used until she is a bit taller but there is plenty of space and storage on the desk. And she will grow into it nicely.
It is fun, easy to clean and provides excellent storage for the Art Work and Supplies!
I would have liked the little stool to match the desk but that is a minor flaw.

I bought the previous model of this desk 8 years ago for my son because he loved to color and draw. Mine came with a chair instead of the stool. He loved this desk and spent hours coloring at it. Recently I gave it to my 3 year old twins to use and they love it. It's been in my home for 8 years and expect for the places he colored on and the stickers he put all over it, it looks brand new. This desk will last a long time, it's a great investment.

My oldest son loves arts and craft and we bought the desk for him. He set his desk up all by himself and sits and works on it everyday. He loves the fact that he has a light and loves the stool. He's pretty big for his age (5) but can still sit comfortable on the stool. The desk is durable and attractive. However, my son used washable markers on the top part of the desk and although it cleans, you have to really scrub it. All in all, it is an excellent desk for youngsters.

This is a great product. My 3 year old loves it. It has so much storage, it keeps all her art supplies neat and organized. this is a great desk. i set up my basement with centers, and i used the other step 2 art desk as an art desk for both kids, and i set up this desk as a kind of discovery/science center. my 5 year old is into experiments and stuff like that. i love this desk, it has lots of room and it will grow with them, will probably serve as a homework desk for a few years. i love the compartment under the desktop, its like a secret and even better, the 1 year old doesnt get into it. i like this better than the double desk, more compartments, but the double is great for the 5 and 3 year olds to work together. all in all, a great desk.

This was a gift for our daughter for her birthday and it was by far the best thing that we have gotten her. She uses it everyday, its very handy for storage and easy to clean up. I would highly suggest this item to anyone looking for a desk. We looked on line for a while till we found this. We love the special slots and holes for all of the art supplies to go, I think it's a good way to teach the kids to be organized.
