thought i bought too early for my 3 year old until I discovered she was autistic.. shes almost 4 and just now becoming interested in this toy. However my 2 year old grandaughter adores this toy and has been interested in for over 6 months! doors dont really snap solidly not easy for little toddlers to do on their own.. but its a real treasure of a toy! prolly be a collectable in years to come!

My 3 year old daughter loves this charming toy and I am so jealous that it did not exist when I was 3. It is well detailed with sweet little touches and simple accessories that stimulate her creativity. It offers hours of imaginative play to a little girl who is fascinated by fairies and flowers. My daughter plays with it using the toys it came with as well as other small dolls she owns. It is lightweight yet durable, so she can carry it around the house or when visiting the grandparents. THIS IS A VERY CUTE TOY. WHEN I FIRST RECEIVED IT THE FRONT OF THE SHOE KEPT FALLING OPEN AND WOULDN'T STAY CLOSED. I CALLED STEP 2 AND THEY SENT OUT A REPLACEMENT THAT WORKS GREAT. My daughter received this toy for her 2nd birthday and loves it. I like the fact that all the pieces were included. It also seems durable, it stands up to her big brothers even when they are playing a little rough. I would have liked it even more if it included more sounds or music. It only has one sound when you push the button by the door. Also the strings to the swing should be a little longer, so it is easier for kids to get the fairies in and out.

I love this toy! I got this as a Christmas present for my 2 year old daughter and she loves it. It is very cute and creative. My 5 year old and 4 year old also love playing with it too. They are into fairies. I love the creative design, the cute characters it comes with, and the fairies sounds. While it is not made of super hard plastic, my children have played with it quite a bit and we have not had any problems with it breaking. I think it needs to be a little flexible so all the parts can be opened up to play in. Great for imaginative play.

We bought this for our 2 year old for Christmas and she loves it. I’ve never seen her take to anything like she does to this. Unfortunately my 3 year old feels the same way. It looks flimsy but I have to say it has survived more than a couple of tantrum tosses and tug of wars.

I will be purchasing another for my oldest daughter (and my sanity) who turns 4 in a few weeks. For us, it’s one of those special toys. Absolutely magical. Nice going Step 2!

We bought this as a Christmas present for our 2 1/2 year old daughter. She saw it in the Step 2 catalog and thought a house that looks like a shoe was "neat-o". She enjoys playing with the swing and especially carrying it around by the handle. Right now, it's not a toy that keeps her attention for a long period of time, but I think this is mostly due to her age. I think as she gets older and her imagination grows she will spend more time playing with it.

This was just a beautifully constructed little girl's playhouse. It was purchased for the 4 year old but the 8 year old and 10 year old also played with. I did purchase additional fairies from the fairy collection for them to play with. The little one loves being able to pick up her house and go. Wish it had more pieces like this.

This is one of the cutest toys I have seen in a long time. I just bought it for my one year old daughter but her attention spand is not there yet but my three year old(son) loves it. I ordered this product for my 20 month old daughter for Christmas. I searched all over town to find one in a store to see it first. Last year I bought the MainStreet Village for my (then) 3 year old and saw this Shoe Fairy Cottage. I decided then I would buy it for her this Christmas. She opened it on Dec. 13 in front of her cousins (boys and girls ranging in age from 2 to 5). Every child played with it for at least 10 minutes. I bought it as a "take-along" toy for when we visit the grandparents. The handle is held on by pressure, which is fine for when I'm carrying it, but isn't strong enough for my 4 year old. The handle came apart on her and all the pieces inside flew all over a parking lot. (I had the same problem with the barn doors of her Mainstreet Village). It's a small issue that we will overcome. Overall, it's a very cute gift and comes with enough pieces to keep a 4 year old busy for more than 20 minutes (which is a lot for my little one).

I bought this for my then 15 month-old daughter for Christmas last year. She really started to play with it around 20 months and now at 26 months it's her favorite toy. She especially loves "my girls and my man" that came with it. My ONLY complaint is that the front door will not stay on. This boot is a medium-size doll house for the fairies. It would be good as a travel toy and comes with several figurines for pretend play. The front door has come off several times and I am worried about some of the other hinges, but overall it is a very cute toy. My 19 month old loves this! It's a toy that she can play with by herself or that we can play together. She loves all the opening and closing and moving all the pieces around to different areas. She giggles as she plays with this toy!

As others have stated; the handle does not stay on or support the weight of this toy. The most exciting thing about this toy is pressing the doorbell to hear the music and see the lights blink. However, you must do so from the part of the "house" that does not open up --where your child will do most of her playing. The "rooms" of the house are so small that my daughter prefers to play with the toys outside of the house. Save your money and just buy some fairy dolls. This is very expensive for what it is.

What's great, is that we can bring it to Grandma's (all pieces fit into the boot). It is big (not huge), a really great size. The light & sound effects are adorable, as are the characters. This is a really cute product, however, it seems a bit cumbersome for my almost-2-year-old. She always wants to push the doorbell, which is on one side, and then play with the inside of the shoe, which is on the other side. The house is a bit heavy for her to just "turn it around" to switch sides to play on and unless she is sitting at a table where she can manuever around to both sides of the table. Plus, some of the doors in the shoes are pretty thin plastic and feel pretty flimsy for little grabby hands that like to play with everything. I bought this as a gift for my friend's 2 year old daughter. When she unwrapped it at her party all of the kids immediately wanted to play with it. It is very colorful and has bright, whimsical characters. It is a bit like a miniature dollhouse (but with fairies). I think it makes a nice gift because it doesn't seem too common (I have never seen it in a store; I ordered it on the Step 2 website), and it is therefore unlikely that the child will already have it.

I really like the imagination this inspires, but first thing that happened was my daughter very gently pulled the door off. And one whole side of the shoe comes off. These parts come off very easily so I am disappointed by that. But my daughter really likes the fairies and she still plays with it a lot. She just takes off the door and the side of the shoe and tosses them aside so she can play.

My daughter plays with this toy every day! She loves putting the little fairies in the swing and tucking them in to bed. We pretend the sole of the shoe is a "slide" and the fairies slide down to eat their breakfast. It's so cute! This is a great item for pretend play, I highly recommend it!

What a remarkable toy! I have sons, so I know virtually nothing about girly toys. I bought this for one of my nieces for Christmas. She absolutely went bonkers. Rarely have I seen a 3-year old freak out with excitement over a toy like she did this one. It was such a hit that her cousin wanted one too.

I ended up buying another one a week later for jealous niece number two. Her mom reported last week that, almost two months later, it is still her favorite toy. In this day of disposable toys, it's amazing to hear this. Highly recommended.

This is a wonderful product with the cutest features and details. It has a beautiful little balcony with french doors. A flower is used to mask the hinge at the toe area opening. The table has all of the little plates and things attached so there are no tiny pieces to loose. All in all it is a wonderful and fantastical product and I can't say enough good things about it. I bought this toy for my 19 month old daughter for Christmas, after I read all the reviews. It was disappointing because my daughter lost all interest in it since the door kept falling out. The bell is not very audible because the speaker is on the bottom of the toy. The big wing on the other side of the house is flimsy- it falls apart too. My daughter deos not seem too interested with the toy because of these doors coming apart. She likes the swing and the little tea table.

Great first "dollhouse" for toddlers and for imaginative play. I love that all the pieces fit inside and it is easily portable with handle on top. The only con is that the fairies don't quite fit/stay on the chaise loungers. Other than that it's adorable and my 19 month old loves it.

I'm not sure if I bought this toy for my 15-month-old daughter or me, but we both absolutely love it! It's simple enough for her to understand and the accessories are just the right size for her little hands! The doorbell is a perfect touch.

My daughter loves the sounds and lights. The house is made well and opens up to reveal other rooms inside where all of the characters can play. The shoe's "tongue" becomes a slide.

I bought this for my two (almost three) year-old daughter for Christmas. It was a big hit! She started playing with it and didn't even care to open the rest of her presents. It is really cute, and has plenty of little accessories and neat features.

My 13 month daughter was ecstatic when she saw the product! It took a long time to break it apart from the box, but she was very much interested in playing with the toys. Only problem I encountered was the door (hinge). THe plastic on the door hinge was smashed.However,I called customer service and had a hassle free experience. They'll be sending me a new door in a few days.

Awesome--even neater than it appeared in the pictures online. The lights and chime sounds are lovely and soft, not at all annoying. I am pleasantly surprised how engaged my toddler is with this toy. She can play for 30 minutes at a time and seems to love the faces on the characters. Even her much older brother thinks it's cute and likes to play with it as well.

I bought this for my 1 1/2 year old daughter as a Christmas gift. She absolutely loves it. It has some smaller pieces that I would prefer her not lose so I do keep this put away for us to play with together, but it does close up and store quite nicely. It also has a nice handle for easy travel when she goes to Grandma's! GOOD STUFF!

I got this toy for Christmas for my 2.5 yr old daughter. She seems to like it somewhat, but she prefers other toys. I was rather disappointed that the door does not hold in its place well and it keeps falling down. Also, the door bell does not ring at all. The speaker is placed at the bottom of the "shoe", so the sounds can be hardly heard - at least in ours. It is very cute, but after reading the reviews, I had expected a better design and quality.

Our two year old and our one year old triplets love this toy, of course its under our supervision, and we play along with them. Its in our bedroom and when they have all had their baths the kids come and play with (special toys) until they are ready for bed. (We also have a couple of the communities from step2 they play with as well.
