My two year old loves this puzzle!
I pull out the puzzle box for focused play - otherwise, the pieces will be lost amongst all the other toys. The pieces are large though and very easy to handle for young ones. My twins are at the phase where they're focused on taking apart the puzzle rather than putting it together, but the interesting scenes (esp. the monkeys & crocodile) will keep them entertained for quite some time to come. Note that if your children are still 'eating' their toys, you'll want to watch because the pictures do come off with just a minimum of biting (the time it takes to turn around and back again).
My daughter received this as a 1 year birth day present. Now, when she is 2 1/2 she loves it and it is a great introduction to puzzles that is not "put-it-in-the-right-hole" puzzle, but creates an animal with "real" puzzle pieces.
