Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dining Room Table Chairs:

My daughter is 2 1/2 yrs. old and she loves this set. She likes to set up the table by putting her play food on it and setting it up for dinner or tea time. My daughter also uses this set to draw and color in her coloring books. I would definitely recommend this gift to anyone who has young children. And I know my son(who is 2 months old) will be joining in as soon as he is old enough.

chairs can be tipsy on hard surface floors, but they are just fine on carpet. Very cute table, but mine came missing screws. I bought the Lifestyle kitchen too and it came missing some pieces. Just make sure you have all your parts when it arrives. They should work with you. I am still missing my screws though.

Step2 Response: Please contact our consumer service department at 1-888-783-7896 and they will be happy to ship our any missing parts as soon as possible.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dining Room Table Chairs:

I love the table, but the chairs have a lot to be desired. Not only do they slide on the tile, but the legs are too close together. The chairs easily flip. Unfortunately, my 20 month old will only eat at the table which has to be on the carpet. The great thing is table wipes super easiliy!

Cons:
Flimsy, Poor Quality
Best Uses:
Older Children
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dining Room Table Chairs:

The table is great. But the chairs are horrible. they are a hazard to children. Your child will fall out of them! I have other step 2 chairs and they are much better. The chairs that come with this set should be discontinued. They are designed poorly and do not represent step 2 very well. And having to add sand as step 2 recommended is a joke. They have better chairs that are safer. I have seen children as old as 6 still fall out of the wobbly chairs.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dining Room Table Chairs:

I got this for my 2 year old daughter, but returned it to the store because the chairs kept tipping on her. I think the chairs should be redesigned to be safer for the age recommendations. Also, the green color is much nicer than the red. Guess I'll wait until a new design comes out or buy a wooden table. I'm happy with all the other step 2 products, but Step 2 please listen to us parents about this table!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dining Room Table Chairs:

This is an adorable table, but don't waste your money. The chairs do NOT stay upright, and I wouldn't let my child use them until he was 4 because of the instability. Step 2 says you can add sand to make them stable, but it doesn't seem worth it-especially when you can buy chairs that remain upright on their own. Also, drilling holes and adding sand just sounds like a big mess to me.

Step2 Response: Thank you for your recent feedback on this product. Our Customer Service department would be happy to assist you with the chair issues you are having. Please contact us at 1-800-347-8372 Monday through Friday between 8 am and 7 pm EST

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dining Room Table Chairs:

I bought this set, because it was on sale at my local [...] I knew that people hated the chairs, and all of the reviews here are spot on: the chairs are horrible. But the table is a really nice size and the perfect height for my two-year-old toddler. I am currently using kid-sized beach chairs with the table, and it's perfect. You really can't find a better table for the price. When my kid gets older, I'll go for the more expensive wooden sets.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dining Room Table Chairs:

Love the look, hate the chairs. My 18 month old daughter can't get on & off the chairs without falling & the chair falling on top of her although she can manuver many other chairs without problems. The best feature is the pull out drawer. My daughter loves playing with it. If the set was made with heavier plastic to make it more stable it would be wonderful, however since made with such lightweight plastic would not purchase again.

I am very happy with this set, however, my 17 month old cannot climb up very easily to sit on these chairs and falls when she gets off of them. I thought they would fit her, but she's a bit small for the chairs. Her feet do not touch the ground. (and she's the size of a 2 year old!)

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dining Room Table Chairs:

I bought this table yesterday and it is going back today. The screws that came with it to secure the legs don't even make it into the legs to do any good. The chairs tip over EVERY time my DD would get on or off of them. This child has been climbing since she could wall and actually is pretty adept getting on and off things and these chairs just kept slipping out from under her. Maybe some type of gripper on the the bottom of the chairs would help but I'm just going to look for something different. I was surprised because overall I've been happy w/ Step 2 products.

Not worth the Price

Cons:
Difficult Assembly, Flimsy
Best Uses:

Describe Yourself:
Parent of Multiples (Twins etc)
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dining Room Table Chairs:

My twins use this table and chairs as part of the lifestyle kitchen we bought them for Christmas. One nice thing about it is that it matches the kitchen we bought (Lifestyle Deluxe). however there are some downsides to this product...

I should have listened to the other reviews of this product, but hindsight is 20/20. The chairs fall over all the time, my twin girls cannot climb up and get off them without the chairs falling over, you would think that by slanting the legs just a little it would fix this problem.

Also, I checked Difficult assembly because the holes in the plastic do NOT match up and with 2 screws at least in each leg it really takes a strong drill to put it together. My husband did it, but really all this effort for this? Just go out and buy the plastic picnic table and be done with it.

Cons:
Unsteady chairs
Describe Yourself:

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dining Room Table Chairs:

I bought this product for my 2 yr old granddaughter who gets on and off most chairs without falling, but she has a great deal of trouble getting on and off these chairs without the chair falling over. I am very disappointed that the legs are not designed to have more stability.

Step2 Response: The legs of these chairs can be filled with sand using by removing the plastic plug in each chair. This provides additional weight and therefore more stability.

My kids play house with it. It gives them all a place to sit since I ordered 2 extra chairs for it and all four chairs fit around it. It's a great place for puzzles, coloring, reading, or pretending to be a big kid. I like that I had a color choice so it could match the step 2 kitchen that they have.

By Jas's MomVerified Purchaser from Arizona on 12/27/2007
Pros:
Realistic
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dining Room Table Chairs:

We bought this table to accompany the Deluxe Lifestyle kitchen. They look nice together and I can see the table and chairs will be a lot of fun to complete the play kitchen but the chair legs are a bit narrow or something as they keep tipping over when my 21 month old daughter tries to sit on them. I think once she gets her balance down we'll be okay. The chairs can certainly hold the weight (as I sat on them w/ no issues) but with the legs being so narrow it's hard for younger ones to get used to balancing on them.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dining Room Table Chairs:

I have 4 kids including a set of twins who love to climb on the kitchen chairs and sit at the table so Santa brought this set to my twins. I can't even tell you how many times the chairs have toppled and I have been watching many of the times and the twins were doing nothing that should have toppled them. Also the legs on the table don't have all the necessary holes for the screws so we had to drill holes.

Step2 Response: The legs of these chairs can be filled with sand using by removing the plastic plug in each chair. This provides additional weight and therefore more stability.

This is a great addition to the Lifestyle Dream Kitchen. My 2 and 4 year old love it. The only thing I dislike is the chairs fall over easy when my 2 yr old tries to sit down and get up. If the back legs were slanted out I believe they would be more stable. The table is bigger than I expected and the drawer is also a nice addition. We have the Maroon Table Set that matches the Dream Kitchen.
