My daughter is 2 and she enjoys the people and animals. The idea that there is an entire village is great.

This was a Christmas gift for my sixteen month old daughter. She loves setting off the sounds (table meows and barks, door mat makes bell sound).

Have one other village. Bought this for an addition to it. Looks cute and durable.

My 2 year old received this for Christmas. He surprised us by playing with it all day long. Usually a toy holds his interest for 20 minutes max. It is a simple and well made toy and we intend to introduce him to the whole set over a period of time. We're just amazed he still plays with this everyday.

Developing the child's sense of relating to their
world in a healthy way is of the upmost important.
These toys allow open and spontaneous response and allows the adult to "play" with the child if they wish to enter in. Our grandaughter (8) received the Wedding Chapel and the Village Vet. Didn't take long to expand their uses. Next day she had the figures all lined up in front of the chapel. The conversation between the two of us
went like this:
"Wow, looks like the people are all ready for the ceremony!"
"No, they are getting ready to film a commercial."
Later that day over the phone, "Are you still working on your commercial?"
"They are taking a break right now. They've been working since 10 o'clock this morning and they are going to work until 10 o'clock tonight."
"That's a long work day! Do you pay them overtime?"
"No, but if they work (cooperatively) the first day I will give them free vet service for their pet for one year."
"Boy, you are one generous employer!"
"Yes, and if they work the second day, I will give them free vet service for two years. For the third day I will give them free vet service for three years and for the fourth day, they will get free vet service for the life-time of their
pet."
I am a play therapy counselor but love being a grandma, too. I have a play house and I plan to add pieces of the Main Street Village to expand the scope of practicing a greater variety of social interactions. I encourage parents to get involved in the play... it is so fun and so constructive for the little ones.

My 19 mo. old daughter LOVES the MainStreet Village. It's always the first toy she runs to, and we hope to get many more years of service out of it. She loves the Vet's office as she's really into cats and dogs right now.
