My kids love this set. It was such a great buy for the amount of items you get in the set. My son can't get enough and his older brother likes to play as well. It's a great addition to the sets he already has. Would definitly suggest anyone add any of the Mainstreet village toys to your home.

My Autistic Grandson and his little brother LOVE the Mainstreet Village Collection. They play interactively with each other, as well as grabbing Adults to come and play too! My grandson is verbalizing more, making animal sounds, engine sounds when pushing the trucks, etc. We have some pieces of the playschool little people, but the boys always head toward the MainStreet Village. The sounds are fun, and encourage more interactive play and spontaneous verbalization. Whoo Hoo!

A great toy for my 2 year old. She loves the animal sounds and the collection set comes with all of the neat extras. The other posts were right, the barn doors do not stay on, you can't even bump them a little and they fall off. That being said, just leave them off, there are so many details and parts that the doors are not missed. Each collection comes with a huge durable puzzle play mat that really inhances play. I bought the Villiage collection and the Transportation collection as well; I use the villiage play mat, all the buildings, shorten the train track and you have a huge marvelous play set that is fun for all. (Even Dad likes to play for extended time!). Way better and more detailed than others like Weeble Wobbles and even the Fisher Price Lil People.

Both my 3 and 4 year old girls love it! They can play together and there is plenty of animals to share so there's no fighting. My only complaint is that the board that comes with it, it's sturdy, but it's a puzzle so the pieces come apart easily on carpet.

I stumbled upon this collection at a toy store while I was teaching a unit on farming. This collection far overcame the competition with regard to its educational components. I could teach farm crops, farm animals, and farm vehicles all with this collection. The best part about it though was the children's reactions, it is one of the most used play centers in our classroom and the dramatic play support, interaction and cooperation this toy has inspired has encouraged me to order all the other collections.

I purchased the Mainstreet Village "Countryside" Collection as a Christmas gift for my 3-year old daughter after comparing the product to Fisher Price's Little People collection. I was looking to buy a toy/activity that she could engage with her 1 1/2 year old brother. The price seemed high until I looked at the variety of pieces and figures that came with each collection (countryside vs townsquare vs community helpers, etc) in comparison to the F.P. Little People. Mainstreet came out on top (although I did purchase a Little People item as well). The figures/people/animals (in my opinion) are cuter and while the Little People figures seem more fit for only the infant stage, the Mainstreet Village people seem fit for infant-to-toddler. And the bonus with the Mainstreet Village is the "mat" (included in the countryside collection) that provides a smooth and sturdy surface to play on with its imaginary roads and trees in the landscape. I only have 2 complaints: 1) The doors on the Barn come off far too easily. There's really no need for them to come off since they swing open and shut. (This seems like a simple fix for Step2 to make). 2) *And this is a big one for me * Only a product brochure was included in the box and not a "summary sheet" listing what items are included in my collection. Otherwise, the collection is great and I plan to expand it by buying the other "collections" within the Collection. I'm hoping my 3-year old will continue to play with it past 5 years of age.

I bought this for my 2 year old and my 9 month old daughters for Christmas this year. They love all the animals and my oldest especilly loved the horsies! The pieces fit their tiny hands perfectly and are not a soft plastic that will not hurt anyone. They love this toy and I will be purchasing more soon. The only draw back is the barn doors, but aside from that, GREAT FUN!

Loved the item. Got it for my granddaughters birthday and my other grandson loved it so I purchased another one and the travel and go collection also. The only problem was the barn
doors on the first one kept falling off. The pins
that hold it in place are too short. Called for
replacements but have not received it as yet. I
also want to purchase the party time kitchen for
my granddaughter for Christmas.
