We have now had this swing set for 2 1/2 years and it still looks great! Our kids are 4, 3, 2 and one on the way. There are so many different things on it that their imaginations continue to come up with fun new thing to do. The only thing that doesn't look brand new is the top of the fort. It is a bit faded. I love this swing set and have no regrets spending the money on it!

My three kids love it! Two other families that we know have it and love it as well. The product is much sturdier than other wooden swing sets. We had a wooden set for two years and had to throw it away because it became unsafe.

This is a great swing set and play house for young children. It's very sturdy and has all the features our kids we're looking for. Our 3 year old loves to crawl up the ladder and play in the "upstairs" of the playhouse.

One drawback is it can be a bit difficult to put together (in parts). When holes lined up, it went together quickly. However, a few of the molded plastic parts needed to be "unwarped" to make bolt holes match up. But after a few pulled muscles and a couple of afternoons, we got it together (without having to drill any new holes) -- it may have been a lot easier if I'd had a few vice clamps laying around.

the playhouse portion was pretty easy to put together. we spent 7 hours on a Saturday and had to finish up Sunday and we are expecting about another 2-3 hours. We had to go to [...] to buy extra hardware and chain to extend the swings. the directions are not good. the lining up of the poles for the swing did not line up so we had to drill another hole to make it work. it would be nice if the lable the packages with the hardware of what the pieces are and lable the parts to make sure you are using the correct pieces. it would have been nice if they had of given us extra hardware. The price for this was great though.[...]. Our grandson who lives with us loves it and as soon as we get the chain to extend he swings life will be good.

This is a great set. I put it together on my own. It is not difficult, just takes a while. We have had it for over two years. Our daughter was just over 1 year old when we first purchased. She is now three and she still loves it as do all her friends ages 1-6 that come over routinely. Very durable, still looks like it came out of the box except for the canopy which eroded after two years in the Texas sun. I called step 2 to purchase replacements and they sent out new ones for FREE! SUPERB service that was wholly unexpected these days.

We're very happy with the swing set. It's great for younger children as it's all plastic. My only complaint is that the metal poles used to support the swingset were very difficult to attach together. The one end wouldn't go in to the other end. I had to sand down the one end to allow it to fit in to the other end.

Perfect fit - we are raising 1.5 & 2.5 year old granddaughters and they cannot wait each day to run out and play on it. Even the 1.5 year old easily & safely uses the glider. Slide and stairs do get hot in the sun however a little water on them and you are good to go.

Assembly not too bad - minor adjustments to line things up that were not in manual. Took two "do it yourselfers" about 5 hours to assemble.

My 3 year old loves his new play area in the backyard. He will climb and swing until we have to herd him inside. Little sister (age 1) loves the swing (replaced with a baby swing) with him.

The delivery guy put it in my parking spot in the garage. The two huge boxes take up the same area as the front of the car.

I followed the 100+ steps and it took me about 2 hours to build it. Nice pictures, etc.

I did get ahead of the directions causing me to think I was short a bolt, but I found it.

It would help if the bolts were seperated into the assembly section (lodge, canopy, a frame and swings, basketball goal).

I would recommend laying it all out in the yard prior to assembly and wetting the ground when you drive the hold down U stakes. Add a small sledge if you are driving the u stakes into anyting similar to Ohio clay and topsoil.

The only nit-pick was the periscope had some flashing on the inside and would not go on the railing without a minor trim inside.

Overall, this is another great purchase from Step 2.

My husband and I purchased this for our one and three year old children. My husband assembled it on his own in less than five hours and didn't have any difficulty. My three year old son loves all features of the swingset and my one year old presently enjoys swinging and climbing through the lodge. I love that I won't have to stain a swingset every year and hope that this doesn't fade in the sun...so far so good! This is a product for younger children and I don't expect that it will be enough for kids past the age of six or seven. All in all, a perfect purchase for our young kids.

My 2 year old and five year old love this swing set! I can't get them off it! They love the glider-I'm glad I spent the extra hundred dollars to add that feature. It's very sturdy and looks great in the yard! Other reviews I read expressed disappointment with the steep ladder to get up to the fort and when I saw it I was concerned my 2 year old wouldn't be able to climb it himself but he did it on the first try. I only wish there was a floor in the bottom portion of the fort-I'm afraid it will get muddy in there after repeated foot traffic.

It's great fun for the younger children, assembly was a little tricky, and took about five hrs with three people(two were teens). I think the slide is awkward and wasn't very slick and the stairs seem a bit steep and I get a bit nervous with the wide openings on the clubhouse, but the kids love it and it will be great fun for years to come.

took my 20 month old 2 ttempts to get the hang of this. the first few times he screamed "no!" so loud I though the neighbors would call the cops. Now he tries to walk up the slide. he climbs the stairs by himself. other reviewers said toddlers needed support to get up the stairs. not him. he climbs alone as soon as we let him out. we use the toddler swing. he loves to go high. He is an only child so we dont get the full benefit of the glider. we put a tarp and rubber chips down for safety. what do other parents use? my brothers & sisters came over for 2 weeks after work to help with this. it took 2 weeks but we only did it for a couple of hours. If i had a lot of kids he probably would use it more. he is in it for an hour and then we go on to water play for an hour. then naptime. he tried to climb the rope ladder. now that req'd support. he loves to play peek a boo with the telescope.

The only thing that would make this set better would be to have some sort of base in the tower so you didn't need to put in a playground mulch to kill the grass. The grass growing inside the tower can become a problem.

We bought this playset about 6 months ago for our now 2-year-old daughter. We looked at all different kinds of playsets and settled on this because it would be good for her (and her soon-to-arrive little brother) for years, it's attractive, sturdy, and she LOVES it. She plays on it EVERY day for hours, it gets her the outdoor time we like, and she wears herself out. The ONLY downside is that the red canvas canopy fades quickly and is now pink. Also, definitely worth the extra [$] for the glider swing!! We recently had a BBQ with kids of different ages, and kids up to age 10 had a blast playing on it (mostly swinging) with the younger ones.

This is a very good product. My 3 year old loves it. We bought her a "half bucket" swing as she's still a bit young to swing on the regular type of swing. I believe it will be a few years before she "outgrows" the set, (maybe 3 to 5 years?). Assembly was a bit tricky at times. I did the entire setup by myself in 8 hours. The hardest part is getting the holes at various connecting points to line up well enough to get a bolt and nut to join. It's not a design flaw, it simply requires that these conneting points be very tightly joined....as a result, the holes for the bolt are hard to line up. I've read and heard assembly nightmare stories for the wooden type of swingsets and believe provides a great alternative and will probably last longer than a wooden set.

I have a 21 month old son who loves this. It took my husband and I a few hours to put together, but wasn't too difficult. We really like that it is more weather resistant that wood, doesn't give him splinters, and had better resale value than a wooden playset. We bought this for our one year-old daughter as a birthday present. My husband and his friend put it together in 1 1/2 hours, and had no problems with the assembly using electric drills. It is sturdy too. We haven't staked it down yet, and it has survived several windy Oklahoma thunderstorms already without moving an inch. I have also sat in the top of the fort, and I weigh 120 pounds, so it will hold more weight than it looks like it will.

We put an infant swing in place of one of the regular swings, and my daughter loves it. She also loves playing in the bottom of the fort. We put some sand in it, and she sits under there digging until we drag her out! As she gets bigger, she is going to enjoy it more and more. We are very happy with this purchase.

The only thing I don't like is that the ladder going up to the top of the fort goes straight up, with not much to hold on to. Other than that, everything is great!

I purchased this playset with no intention of putting it together. My neighbor and his 2 sons put it together. I love the playset so does my daughter. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it was difficult to put together with 3 handy men. My neighbor who installs elevators for a living said it is much easier to install elevators than put this set together.

We bought this for our 2 1/2 year old son and his daycare friends. They are in love with it and play on it every chance they get. I feel that it is the perfect swing set for my younger children 2-8. But it is not built for anyone much bigger than that. I liked this one the best out of all that I researched because of the glider and the fact that if a child was to fall out of the club house they would not get hirt. Unlike the taller wooden structures. It was a little difficult to put together. The holes all didn't line up but other than that we seem to like it. My children are in heaven playing so that makes for a happy mom.

They only recommendation I would make would be to make the ladder easier to climb. My 4 year old doesn't have any trouble with it, but my two year old does. Love the maintenance free, not a big fan of the wooden sets. The only thing I would recommend is to have a larger or taller version with longer slide for slightly older kids. I have a 2 and 5 year old so it is perfect now but thinking about a couple of years from now.

This product comes in 2 huge 200 lb boxes, so when they say you need help getting it off the truck they're not kidding! Overall assembly took my husband with my (minimal) help about 6 hours, which is significantly better than the estimates I read on other sites for traditional wooden sets. Overall we love the playset. It will look good for years and no worrys about splinters or fading. The only downside so far is that the slide gets very hot in the sun being dark green, probably more so than a lighter colored slide. We may have to get 8 of our strongest friends to help us move it to a shadier spot in the yard. But I would definitely recommend this playset. For the money I like it significantly better than competitor products. I have a few Step2 items and they are all great quality.

When I purchased this for my girls' 2nd birthday in May, I thought they would only use bottom area of fort and swings....I was wrong. They climbed right up to the top and went down slide about 100 times! Then it seemed like every day they discovered something new. The glider and ladder rope haven't been used yet but I'm sure we're only days away.
We did purchase toddler swings at local toy store. I bought a few hooks from sports section so the swings are low enoght for them.
It was easy to put together and has been easy to keep clean.
If I could ask for Step2 to make any changes, I would ask for some type of attachment (maybe a bar?) to be placed on windows to prevent falls for the little ones-and then be able to remove when they are older. Also I wish I could purchase an extra tent that matches for over the swings and glider.
I'm a very very picky person and I absolutely love this swingset and would buy again!! I was really skeptical about the price but it's worth it.

We decided to buy this item after reading reviews and couldn't be happier with it. We didn't want the hassle of a wood swingset that looks like garbage after a couple of years. We also figured this would be easier to disassemble once the children have outgrown it. [...] There are many parts, but the instructions point out each piece perfectly. It took several hours to put together, but was pretty easy to do/instructions easy to follow. At times the holes wouldn't line up just right, so we had to push/pull the pieces until we could get them to line up perfectly for the hardware to fit. We bought a Step 2 infant swing and used it in place of the other swing that comes with it, and my 6 month old loves it, too. We looked at several sets and settled on a plastic one since we have small children, 18 mos and 1mos, and didn't want to deal with all the issues and upkeep with wood. We just wanted a set that would last us until our oldest get about 7 or so and then we'll buy the BIG set. We looked at Little Tikes, too, but for what you get, Step2 is a much better value. We also ordered direct from Step2 [...]. And the boxes are huge!! Unless you have a pickup, you aren't going to be able to bring these home from a store.Assembly was pretty easy considering. Took my father-in-law and I about 4.5 hours to assemble the entire unit. The most difficult part for us was getting the swing set pole set to the play house. Everything else, went very smooth and we were taking our time. I wish the instructions had better descriptions and pictures, but as long as you are careful, you should be okay. Also, if you lose a bolt or one bad threads, you will need to go to your local hardware store for replacement because there are no extras.All that being said, the real test is what the kids think about it and our daughter loves the set. She is still pretty young so we have to be hands on with her when she plays on it, but I can see this lasting her and her baby sister plenty of time and giving them countless hours of play. We've already had a playdate with a friend and they had a great time. The glider will be great for the girls when they get older and give two other kids the chance to swing, too, when they have friends over.All in all, we are very pleased. This is a professional grade product. I weigh over 280 pounds. I had to get up in it and stand on the platform. It did not sag or give any suggestion of failing under my weight. I was surprised due to the spongy feel when my 3 year old plays on it. There were no instructions for the Glider. [...]. There are online instructions but I could not get to them. I have built a few wooden play sets and this is faster easier and much safer in the short and long term. When wood ages it gets more splinters but the plastic will not. When I swing my daughter it never even moves at all EXtremely stable.

My son is about to turn 2, and this was a perfect playset choice for him! He loves it! He especially enjoys going up the steps into the upper part of the lodge and going in and out of the lower part of the lodge. Went together easy. Took 3 people 3 hours to completely assemble. You definitely need to stake this swing set down to keep it from rocking. The kids (5 and 4) LOVE it and can't wait to get home and play on it. Our old swing set lasted 10 years. Hope this one lasts just as long.

This is a fantastic and well-made piece of playground equipment. Assembly wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be--took me 6 hours solo...although I'm reasonably handy--and the instructions only had two head scratching moments that made me look at the how-to video.

Couple of hints:
-Lots and lots of ratcheting. An impact wrench or even a power screwdriver/drill motor hex head would've been a good investment.
-Make sure the ground is fairly level. Mine was off by an inch or two and you can really tell because some of the holes and parts don't line up well unless the thing is dead level. You may end up shimming parts to level until assembly is completed.

This thing looks great, is solidly put together, and I can't recommend it enough.

I am a 22-yr old woman and I pretty much assembled it by myself I had a little help with a few things but mostly I did it myself so that should tell you it was not that hard to assemble. My 2 year old loves the swing set along with the neighborhood kids. It took a long time to assemble and of course some parts were more difficult than others to fit together, but with 2 or 3 people it was assembled with no additional problems. We even replaced one of the swings with a 9month to 3 yr swing for our son. I would reccommend this to everyone. A lot of hours our going to be enjoyed on this set.

I was dreading the thought of assembling this unit upon ordering. With the help of 1 other guy--we assembled this unit in about 3 hours by following the video directions--they are GREAT. This is a great set for the little ones! I am looking forward to years of enjoyment with zero maintenance. It was easy and clear to set-up with the only challenge being the insertion of the support pins. You will definately need two people to assemble it and will benefit by watching the online instructional video first. Lastly, it blends in nicely with traditional landscaping. VERY IMPRESSED!

I bought this for my twin grandaughters age 19 months and they love it! Right now they are only able to use the swing which we had to buy the bucket seat for them in place of the ones that came with it. Also they love the two story playhouse area especially the bottom part which they go in and out of. The upper part they are to small for right now only if an adult is right they to hold them and guide them down the slide.My husband and two of his friends put it together in two evenings (about 5 hrs). I love the way it blends in with the landscape and doesn't stand out like a sore thumb like most playscapes do. I'm sure next year they will be old enough to use the glider and go up and down the slide by themselves. I would reccomend this to anyone. Very well made!

We purchased this playset for our two girls [18 months and 3 years] and they both love their new 'tree house'. The assembly was time consuming as we put it together during nap times and not as difficult as some other reviewers had indicated. We picked this particular playset as I was concerned about splitting wood and splinters from wood constructions. It is perfect for little ones and even our 7 year old neighbours enjoy themselves. My suggestion to Step2... construct the ladder that leads into the playhouse and onto the swing with a less deep incline as it rather difficult [and upsafe] for toddlers to climb straight up. Otherwise no complaints.

It took 4 people all day to assemble this play set. Some of the holes didn't line up but it is a great set once assembled. My 27 month old grandson loves the playhouse part, just wish the bottom was a few inches taller. I also think it is a little over priced [...] I love step2 products.

Lengthy, but not too difficult assembly. Definetly a 2 person job to manuever some peices. Instructions seemed to leave out a few steps, but with careful review you'll spot them (only showing screwing on one side of the canopy, and later pictures showing it screwed on both sides for example).
My 17 month old daughter loves it. We bought the toddler swings for it for now, and are saving the regular swings for later.

Assembly was not always straight forward. We had 4 adults for assembly and it took several hours. It is sturdy for young children, but the fort platform really couldn't hold older children. My son (2) loves it. It has many activities, which he enjoys.

When the product arrived it was missing parts that could not be found at a hardware store. Step 2 mailed the missing parts, but only delivered 3 instead of 4 of them. They then over-nighted the missing part, but it was the wrong one! They finally over-nighted the correct missing part. It had taken 7 days to get all of the parts. They have promised an age appropriate toy, but it hasn't arrived. My husband had a fairly difficult time assembling this set. A lot of the plastic pieces would not fit together the way they should. Now that it is up, I must say it was worth the hassle. It is beautiful and fits perfectly in our yard. I am a strong believer in supporting made in USA products, I just wish they would have gotten it right the first or second time...or even the third time around.

We watched the video on how to put it together and then went step by step with the instructions it took my husband and I 11 hours to put it together. But it wasn't that hard. It's sturdy and awesome. I bought this set for my 2 1/2 yr old and 14 month old. They both really enjoy it, however I had to order a bucket swing and also a toddler seat. The regular swings are too advanced. Directions were somewhat unclear in sections. Some pieces were difficult to put together, such as attaching the swing pole to the clubhouse. It was difficult to line up the holes and insert the bolt at the same time. But, my 3 and 1 year old love it!

The kids love the playset, swing and glider and look out tower. The wave slide should probably be a longer straight slide instead. I assembled this in 5 hours alone (I'm no handy man, but have done enough do it yourself jobs to not be a novice.) There are a few parts you will need a second adult to help move pieces after assembling seperatly and trying to combine swing to tower. Be sure to put stakes in at 45 degree angle, they go in smoothly with sledghammer. Do not overtighten canopy rods. I did and the left tower wall bows in a little. I will loosen and see if this remedies. You'll really enjoy!

With close supervision, they are able to use almost everything offered and will be able to use all of it for many years to come. The set takes 2+ people to assemble and there are some parts that require a lot of strength to hold together while running a bolt through 4 holes. Once finished I was very happy with the look and sturdiness and my toddler really likes it.

Bought 2 years ago for our 2 year old (who is now 4), has stood up well to the heat, sun and rain in Tampa, Florida. I am really glad I got the version with the glider, that's his favorite part, plus when my two have friends over there are swings for all. The house underneath is a little "short" so they don't go in there (we instead use it to store balls, etc.).

My only advice is to make sure you install it far enough from a fence - at least 4 feet from the house part. We put ours too close (the instructions provide no guidance and the thing will be really hard to move when we decide to one day) and the kids feet hit the fence when swinging (which they think is hilarious but scares me).

I'm very glad we bought this and not one of the wood kind. For the money, I think this is the way to go for kids under 6. As we now have 3 kids, I think this will serve us well for many years. I also think it will have good resale value when the time comes.

My 3 & 1 year old love this swing set. We looked into wood swing sets but who wants to deal with the maintenance? With the help of my father it took just about 5 hours to put together. I have only had it for 4 months and the canopy already faded and the screws that hold it down are rusted! Other than that this is a great set. I would recommend it to anyone.

This product is wonderful backyard fun for my 3 year old grandson. Assembly was fast and easy. All pre-drilled holes matched perfectly. All pieces were included. It took two men 4 hrs to assemble with no difficulty. The set is sturdy. My only complaint is the canvas rooftop on the clubhouse faded to a light pink in 1 month. My grandson is dissapointed his clubhouse has a pink roof! For the price this product should have come with a durable plastic roof. The set will last a long time but the tarp roof will probably have to be replaced next summer due to the extreme heat in the south. I did not know this was a tarp roof. I see it in the product detail now but I don't think it was in there when I purchased mine in March 2008. It is attractive to the landscape of any yard except for the PINK roof!

Well, as a Mom, Grandma & Daycare Provider I want you to know after reading all the reviews I knew what I was getting...good & bad. Assembly wasn't fun because the directions need revised, there was missing hardware, & some parts were hard to line up. The slide is too steep & bumpy, the stairs to the loft are straight up & down with no railing to hold on to, but the swings are great & I like that it's heavy-duty plastic & the kids won't get splinters. The kids absolutely LOVE it and that's what counts most!!!

My five year old just loves this set, it is perfect for her age. It can be very time consuming to put together, so you need at least a day to sort the parts, look over the instructions good (before you start to assemble), and to put it together. Purchased this 2 wks ago, and it's in the backyard partially assembled and unused because of poorly manufactured parts. I have a 2 1/2 year old and he LOVES this playset. I live where there is really harsh weather and all of our neighbors have purchased the wood sets, which have lasted about one year before they began to splinter. Also their kids were too small to really even play on anything but the swings and that was with the help of an adult. This swing set is great because it is not too big for my son to play and climb on without my help and it will hold up to the elements. I plan on just selling it to another family with young children when he outgrows it. Can't do that with a wood set.

I absolutley love this swingset!!! I had doubts about how much fun my daughter would actually find this but I am not dissapointed at all. We have had it 3 weeks now and it gets plenty of use every day.
It was really easy to assemble, only common sense needed and a bit of patience. It took my husband and I about 5 hours to put it together.
My 8 and 11 year old sons actually play on this as much as their sister and I'm not worried, it's pretty sturdy.
We used to have a wood one, it took days to put together and the kids only played on it a few times. We were very dissapointed. Not only that, it looked shabby after a short time. We left it behind when we moved because it wasn't worth moving.
I have many Step2 products and they are all sturdy and have lasted many years so I'm not worried about this set.

First thing my 2 year old daughter wants to do when she wakes up is go play on her playground. We love it and we are very pleased with our decision to purchase this swing set. We have a small backyard and it is perfect. We also have an 8 month old, so we replaced one of the swings with a toddler swing for him. They love swinging next to eachother. It was relatively easy to put together for my husband and I. A few of the parts were mismarked. Also, the pictures showing where you were doing what were not very clear. A picture showing things a little more descriptive of the steps would have been helpful. Overall, it was easy to put together.

This is a great product for our 2 year old with a few exceptions. The ladder on the back side of the playstructure is somewhat difficult for him to climb. The age limits start at 3, but the bottom playhouse is already at his height, so by next year, he will be too tall to stand upright in it. Despite these issues, I have and will continue to recommend this to friends. Assembly was very simple and 90% of the time was done by one adult.

First off the directions are not easy to follow and the mislabeled parts do not help. The directions need to be rewritten correctly and easier to follow. Most of it can be figured out but when you have an excited kid ready to play you do not need wrong instructions holding you up. It is lots of fun and will get lots of use. The one thing that needs to be changed is the stairs are very steep and do not have handles for extra safety in climbing up. Either the stairs need handles or need to be made less steep so a child can not fall off. Our daughter kept sliding off the stairs because there is not any where for her to hold onto while climbing up. Maybe she will get better climbing as she gets older. Other than that it seems very enjoyable and much safer than the wooden swingsets.

Over all very good design, however there are a few areas that could be better. First, the instruction manual, could be some what clearer as to some of the sub assembly pieces being used. The pieces themselves should have there item number on them. The thickness of the plastic could be greater in most of the load bearing areas. Height of the play area under the loft should be 4-5" higher.

We bought this swing set for our 3 young children, ages 4.5, 2.5 and 4mths. Although it is recommended for children ages 3+, it is easy for my 2.5yr old to enjoy. She can safely climb into the structure and swing on the glider without my help. The whole structure is perfect for our 4.5yr old. She loves the swings & the glider and challenges herself with the rope ladder and climbing wall. We could tell right away that this set will be fun for a number of years to come - even for our oldest.

Assembly is time consuming, but not more than you would expect for such a large structure. I assembled most of it in about 4hrs, and it might have taken my husband another 1.5hrs to add the swings, glider, adding the final bolts, etc, and pounding in the ground bars. We also purchased an infant/toddler swing to install in place of one of the belt swings - easy to do, and allows our infant to swing safely as well.

The instructions are very clear in my opinion, and the accompanying pictures help tremendously for visual learners like myself! I would recommend reading the instructions through, and looking at the photos at least once before getting started; to familiarize yourself with the natural succession of assembly. Overall, we are extrememly pleased (as are our children) with this set and recommend it to anyone with children ages 1-9.

This was a great addition to our play yard, We have the clubhouse climber,storybook cottage,picnictable, and a few other Step 2 pieces, And this is by far our favorite Step2 toy. I love this swing set. It looks great in my backyard. I love that it is not wood, so I do not have to stain it every year. It gets dirty just hose it off. My children and the day care children just have so much fun on it. There is so much you can do. It is very sturdy. I love that it comes with its own stakes to hold it down so I don't have to cemet it into the ground. The only thing that I don't like about it is the top of the clubhouse needs to be higher so that the children older than four can stand up more comfortably. The slide should be straight not bumpy. The children go down the slide to slow. Other than that I think it was worth every penny that I have spent.

We bought this for our son even though he is only 15 months. We knew it would be something he could grow into. My son and his friends really enjoy the new playscape. He loves to play in the fort and we replaced one of the swings with a toddler swing which he really enjoys. The playscape fits perfectly in our backyard and really compliments the yard.

It took about 7 hours to completely assemble. While I didn't think it was extremely difficult it was time consuming and a few of the pieces required a bit of patience. I only had to make one adjustment where the bolt wouldn't fit properly though a section. No parts were missing and it is a well designed unit.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the price. I think it is a tad bit over priced but it is good quality.

We bought this swingset for our 3 boys for easter, ages 4,3 and 7 months. My husband started it on friday evening and it was done by saturday afternoon,with help from 2 other people. The directions are not very clear and at first it seems very difficult to assemble. My advice is to label everything. There was no missing pieces and everything lined up fine. Overall it is a great product and the kids love it, we have had as many as 8 kids playing on it at one time.

My husband and I had no difficulty assembling the Play Center. My 22 month old daughter absolutely loves the glider! She also enjoys the toddler swing I purchased separately from the Play Center. Great product and very sturdy once assembled. The material is great and the design is fun and the size is great. Assembly, however, was very difficult. The holes for the platform didn't line up, causing a major delay. So far it's been worth the trouble. I also suggest putting the ladder at a greater angle for easier climbing, it's just about vertical.

We bought this for our daughter for her 5th b-day. It is such a nice set. We love the looks, feel, and design. I'd say the only drawback was the amount of time to put it together and you def. need at least 2 people. But besides that everything is just perfect. Our daughter just loved it when she walked out in the backyard and received it as her surprise gift. She has so much fun on it. I esp. like the fact that it is not wood and we don't have to worry about splinters, refinishing and treating wood every so many years. Just rinse and go if its dirty or hot! This play set is in our backyard & it looks great. The plastic rather than wood give me a sense of peace knowing that we won't have to worry about splinters or painful knocks against the supporting components. It's very difficult to line up the various parts to ensure you can fit the bolts through. Also, the basketball backboard can only be attached in 3 places, rather than the 4 that are expected.

We bought this for our 18 month old daughter. She absolutely loves the playset, and wanted to play on it before my Husband could completely get it together. While she is too young to fully utilize the set, there are many aspects for her to enjoy and she will be able to have fun with this set for several years to come. My husband spent the weekend, working at his leisure to put the set together. Some of the parts were mislabled, and the instructions were sometimes confusing, but all and all it was not so bad to put together. He did not have any issues with pre-drilled holes not lining up like many others complained of. Maybe the company made some good changes as a result of previous complaints. The only thing wrong with the set was the ladder, which is 6 inches too short. I called Step2 and the lady was not very friendly. She told me it would stretch out eventually. I can tell you right now it is not possible, and my Husband is emphatic of that fact. If you pull and try to force it, it pulls out of the bracket. My husband and I purchased this swingset as an early birthday present for our daughters, one who will be 4 and the other who will be 1 but not until the very end of the summer, but we wanted them to enjoy the swingset all summer. My 7 month old obviously can't use it too much now but we replaced one of the swings with a baby swing and she loves to swing. And my 3 1/2 year old loves everything about it, the swing the glider the lodge and the slide, but her favorite is the rope ladder. The only thing I wish is that I could go on it with them. I am a petite mom only 5' tall and I went into the lodge so the baby could sit up there (of course I would have to be with her) and it does say max weight 300 pounds but the floor of the lodge does not seem very firm, kinda flimsy, and if I continue to go in there I'm afraid the floor will start to sag. I also wish the swing and glider held more weight, I would love to swing on the glider with my daughter, but this swing set is obviously only kid friendly, and not for adults which is a shame. So I guess my swinging days are over. ALL in ALl it was a great purchase, it will last long, won't fade and will get a lot of use.

We HIGHLY recommend at least 2 people to assemble and 1 person to give directions from the book as you go along. We had 5 guys total and it went rather smoothly. About 3 hours total. This is a great product, fantastic playset that our kids will love for many years. It took forever to assemble... mainly b/c we're not good at this type of thing. I'd have paid hundreds to have someone else do it... really! We have a newborn and a 2 yo... so it's not like we had any "alone time" to get it done. Hire a sitter, send the kids to the grandparents... whatever. It would have been done in 6 hours if my husband and I had had some time alone to do it.
One tip, follow the directions to the letter. Don't "skip ahead" by adding a bolt etc... there's a reason that bolt's not added yet! You'll be removing it later... so just follow the directions, they are really great. Truly, this is the coolest thing ever, and looks like it's going to hold up a lot better than the wooden sets I see in other backyards.

It only took 3 and 1/2 hours to assemble with 1 reading directions out loud step-by-step to group of 4 others. We would highly recommend this approach with 1 person reading directions and at least 2 others to "work". We were scared since everyone else seemed to find assembly to take so long, but it wasn't bad at all.

Our 1 major concern, since we live where we get a lot of wind, especially in our backyard, is the fabric roof. Hopefully it will be able to withstand it. I think I would have preferred a plastic one, even though that was also listed as being a problem with not fitting properly in other reviews we read.

Overall, we LOVE it. The kids have spent hours everyday playing on it since we bought it.

Assembly was very reasonable, kids have loved it since day 1, works great. But the red vinyl canopy started fading quickly from day 1 making the whole set look old and weathered. Company was responsive about sending a newer one which presumably wears better but requires significant and not entirely feasible disassembly to install. Given the price tag and claims of long lasting performance as an exclusively outdoor product, this was very disconcerting. Do the kids think dad got his money's worth: without a doubt. Does dad think he got his money's worth: definitely not.

This is a very nice swingset. It took us about 6 hours to put it together. Thank goodness my husband is handy, we had to do some drilling into the metal poles because there were not holes. Also, we were missing some screws and the velcro. But, my 2-year old twins LOVE it... I can hardly get them to come inside at night. The steps are too steep for them to climb themselves, but with a little help... the go right down the slide!

After reviewing many swing sets I finally decided on Step2. Even though, the reviews were not that great. Yes, the directions need to be re-done; however, my father put it together by himself in about 3 hours. We are missing parts, and still waiting. But, when I contacted Step2 they were very respectful. The parts that I was missing my father could still build the swing set. My 18 month old daughter loves her new swing set. She is a little young for the ladder, but she will master it in a few months. This is a great swing set for my younger two boys. Unfortunately my 11-10 year old are too big to play on it. When assembling the swing set be sure you have two strong people handy to put it together. Some of the pieces needed a little extra muscle to line up and bolt together. And then there was the instructions...bring a sharp mind for this build. All in all, I'd do again in a heart beat because of the joy it brought to my 22 month son.

We ordered this swing set because we used to own a wooden set, and between the bees making it their nesting place and the splinters/upkeep, we decided to get rid of it. The park is a 20 minute ride away, so we starting doing research on a new set. This one seemed to have it all, and we read all of the reviews. Even though the assembly was said to be difficult, we went for it anyway. Difficult does not even begin to describe it. It's a good thing that my husband and I love each other, because there were many nasty exchanges during the 3 DAY assembly. It took almost a total of 15 hours to put the product together. Now my husband and I are not experts in building, but we both have common sense, and can read directions. The directions were absolutely unclear and difficult to follow. After the nightmare of putting this thing together, I must say that the final product is a great one. Our 2 1/2 year old loves it, and would stay out for hours if we let her. I just wish that Step2 would read their consumers' reviews, and ask for some tips on how to improve the directions...because believe me...we have many!

It took my husband a weekend to put it together by himself. It was not difficult to assemble but it took a few hours. It is the most sturdy playset we have ever had, it is completley anchored and does not jump out of the ground even with many kids on it. My husband and brother-in-law put this together on a Sunday afternoon. It took them 3-4 hours. Ours was missing screw, nuts, and bolts. This is a very nice playyard. My wife read reviews for several weeks before we decided on this one. What a great choice. It took me exactly 5 hours to put together by myself. We bought this set for our 2 yr old daughter for her birthday. [...]The other problem was with assembly. I'm a stay at home mother and I was able to put the set together myself in about 8 hours time. I had to drill a couple holes out because they either didn't line up right, or or hadn't been drilled deep enough. I also had to make a run to the hardware store for 4 extra bolts that were a bit longer, as the ones provided were half an inch too short. My only other complaint in the ladder. It's straight up/down and seems a little dangerous that way since it doesn't have hand rails, and it also doen't have any screws to hold it in place. Other then those few minor things, we're VERY happy with the set. I know it will keep our daughter and her friends happy for years to come. We're glad we got the set with the glider, as it just adds yet another activity for the kids to play with. Overall a good product , looks nice in the back yard, and worth the money. I would have given it 5 stars if the assembly had been easier and I didn't have to get parts at the hardware store.

Interesting to read the different reviews regarding assembly. We had 2-3 people working on it and found some problems with the directions/parts. The fort seemed to have the clearest, most detailed directions but then we found lots of mistakes. Some parts were labeled wrong and we had to push through some of the holes that weren't lined up. We debated between this set and a wooden swingset for our two year old twins for Christmas. We went with this, and we love it!! It is just the right size for them for now and the next few years. They head straight to this set when they go outside and do not care for anything else in the backyard. In contrast to the wooden playsets, this one is not so high that you can't walk away from it while still watching your children. Having said that, the underneath ceiling part of the clubhouse is a little low, but both can still stand upright it. I don't think they will be able to stand up in the downstairs for many years, but at least the next several months, and then they can crawl/sit in it. The top floor has a much higher ceiling clearance, so it isn't a problem. The glider is definitely worth the extra money, and I am glad we got it. Overall, a great low-maintenance set that my children love!!

We purchased this product for our daughters for Christmas. We just finished assembling it today. All of the parts are easy to assemble EXCEPT for the nuts and bolts. There are either not enough of one kind and two many of the other kind. It took 3 grown men with TONS of assembly experience 4 hours to put together. We had to run to Lowe's and buy extra bolts to make it work. The directions tell you to do one thing, then a few steps later you have to take what you just bolted together apart to add another piece.
My daughters are going to love this, but Step 2 needs to come up with a better method of assembly. "A good crafts man never blames his tools!"

I have a 19 month old son we recently purchased this set for. Although it said ages 3 and up we went ahead and got it thinking he would grow into it. With the steps a little steep he is not able to climb onto the top play area but with help he really enjoys playing up there and sliding down. He uses the bottom house all the time. We couldn't decide to pay the extra and get the glider and I am glad we did. he loves it! As he develops more in the months to come I think he will really enjoy the "pretend" that comes along with it. I had a hard time paying so much for a swingset, and I can't say that I think it is worth the price. It's fun and enjoyable, but I do think it is a little pricey.

My husband and I bought this product for our 21month old and think its great for her the bottom is a little short for her but she's very tall for her age, the only complaint I have is the stairs are very steep and have no rail, It took a little while to put together but wasnt bad , its a great set , wish it was a little cheeper . My family recommends this swing set.

This swingset is exactly what I expected based on the description AND the reviews. So I am very satisfied.

The roof covering material didn't fit, but many reviewers said that was the case. I called Step2 and they sent out new ones that were stretchy (for free). So that was a minor inconvenience.
I knew the thing was going to be a PITA to assemble, so we asked our fencing contractor to do it since he was doing another job for us anyway. However, he agreed that it was less hassle than assembling a wooden playset--and no splinters or metal caps! Probably not a job for a novice, unless you are very patient and have lots of time!

The only other complaint I have is that the steps/ladder to the upper playhouse is verticle and has no handholds. I think it would be safer if it was at an angle and there was something for kids to hold on to. Not a huge big deal tho, as my 2 year old can manage it with a little effort.

My 2yr. old daughters love this swing set. It is the perfect size for them with room to grow. I like the attractive design and weather resistant material. There were two places where the pre-drilled holes did not match, but we were able to make it work. One bolt was missing but I replaced it at the local hardware store. My father-in-law and I were able to put this together in about 5 hours.

Fabulous product. My 3 1/2 year old calls it his "playground". Assembly is easy (with common sense when reading the sometimes confusing instructions). I'm a single mom and I assembled it myself. Not wanting to put my kid on anything unsafe, I tested it myself. Even at a 170 pounds, it was sturdy enough to hold me. My son loves the glider and with me on the swing, we race to Mars all the time. :)

Waited until youngest was 21 mo. to purchase for my 4 yr old. After going through reviews of all the swingsets from step2, I decided that this would be the most practical for my children to have and it would take them longer to outgrow. Also, I decided to have a handyman install. My Children love the swings and adventure lodge. We also sit in their special place to read or color while outdoors. Lots of fun!
