We live at the begining of a culdesac. This guy is great for warning drivers as they come around the corner that kids are at play. It's sturdy, light weight and easy enough for my 6 year old to set up when he wants to ride his bike.

Even with sand for weight in the base, I used tent pegs to hold the base firmly - and still, it was stolen in broad daylight on a Sunday morning. I put it out because of elderly person with hearing deficiency who walks between my house and the neighbor's and who retrieves the morning paper and mail from close to the road - there are no sidewalks. ...Effective for slowing most drivers, but not all.

We live at the top of a hill, on the bend of a road which encourages cars to speed up to make sure they make the hump. Mr. Slow really brings attention to drivers that little people are present and they slow down and drive further from the sidewalk. We place him on top of my car so both sides of the hill can see him. My husband suggested putting sand in the base rather than water which may discolor our fluorescent friend – so far we haven't had to, as the sign is really stable. I would highly recommend Mr. Slow. Additionally, our 20mth old girl loves him and kisses him every day too. For the sake of cuteness alone the purchase was worth it 

Neighbors set up a few and move them around the street, I love the idea, they work great to slow down drivers and make them look out more conciously. I looked up the website to find out whether there is a dog/pet counterpart! Guess I'll go with another Mr. Slow instead until he gets a doggie by his makers.

We bought these to use at our cottage. Our garage is across the street from our house. It has really helped to ease my anxiety about them crossing the street. I have noticed the cars going down our street are more conscious about their speed limit and it also helps to remind our girls to look for cars.

I thought he was a turtle but realized its a boy I call him Mr. Slow. I used the sign for 3 weeks and it has stopped the crazy drivers and made them slow down it's been a miracle. The only sad thing is today someone stole his flag so I need a replacement flag! Some people anyway if you need people to slow down buy Mr. Slow he's great!

This KidAlert product is excellent, no doubt. I have had a few in my possession, for which my friends and I have aptly nicknamed them "Slow". Slow has always been a great friend to us, through thick and thin. He can also drink more than any of us, and is often the last one standing at the end of the night.

However, a debate has arisen among my group of friends so great that we seek answers from all walks of life, Step 2 customer service, and unknowing 3rd parties.

Is "Slow" a kid/person or a turtle? It's that simple. I ask you all to please respond with your expertise, comments, and other insights about this matter. I will not attempt to sway the audience, as my opinion of it being a kid/person or a turtle has nothing to do with what YOU think. Please respond!

We have used this little man at our pre-school and I do think he is very effective. It gives me peace of mind that drivers will be more cautious and when we put our 'man' out on the sidewalk it reinforces to the children the importance of road safety.

The Green Turtle Safety KidAlert is a great way to get motorists attention when your kid is playing. We live on a hill with a blind spot in the driveway, so I placed the KidAlert turtle so that motorists such as the mailman, delivery trucks, and other unexpected visitors would know to slow down. It's easy to assemble and my daughter loves "her turtle". This was a good purchase.

We bought this KidAlert sign to slow down traffic on our cul-de-sac where lots of kids play and ride bikes or scooters. It REALLY works! We put it out and immediately noticed that cars began slowing down. I would definitely recommend one of these!

The bright green little "men" stand out against any back drop. Our neighbors can see them from miles away, so that they know our two-year old is outside playing. Great idea.

I bought one for each end of my alley to warn my neighbors of when my grandchildren were riding bikes in the alley. It works great! The kids love putting them out before they can play, and the neighbors appreciate the "head up" that my little ones are in the alley.

I live on a very busy street. We have tried contacting the police several times about speeding on this street, but to no avail. We bought one of these, it was stolen within 2 days. So now I will buy another and have to chain it to our tree. I will buy as many as I have to! I immediately noticed cars slowing down when they saw this. It is a great product.

More than once people have stopped to ask where we bought ours so that they too might buy one! We live on a busy street and I put our little "man" in our driveway to stop cars from proceeding further. The orange flag, however, has ripped off the pole in high winds and I need a new one...

My children place a "Safety Guard" near the street at each end of our property to alert cars of their play. We live on a corner lot so they have been very helpful to alert cars of children at play and to use caution. I have used these Guards for over 5 years and they have held up great and look great. I just recently had to replace the flag because the kids played with it and lost it. I would not want to be without this great product!

I had to hunt it down to buy one! We live on a private circle with small yards. One of our neighbors had this sign among other rectangular signs. Though I try to be careful, several times I missed the rectangular signs only to have a knee-jerk-hit-the-brakes response to the appearance of a child running toward the street. The child sillouette is especially great during the twilight hours that can be so dangerous. Although the flag sounds like a bit of a problem, as a driver, I cannot even remember if the sign had one or not, so it must not be that important.

This is a fabulous product, we put it out on the end of our street every time our 16-month is outside. It's cute and definitely gets drivers' attention without being obnoxious. We definitely recommend this to anyone living in a residential neighborhood. The only drawback is no one carries it in the store anymore so we had to order it online from the manufacturer and then wait over a week to receive it!

We are a construction company; we use this product while working on or by streets. We also use this product while loading and unloading on or by a street, and they work great. The only down side is they take up a lot of room during transit and it would be better with a back leg support.

We live in NWX in Bend or, we have a lot or cars the speed, my kids play out in the front yard, since we enacted the signs, traffic has slowed, people have paid more attention. If these signs had not worked, my next option was to begin hurling tennis balls at speeding cars to get them to slow down…we bought two, one is not enough. They work….spend the money get a least two of them..

i bought two - the little man no longer comes in green i was told . the little man now only comes with one foot , but to my happy surprise , when i called step 2 customer service , they sent me two more feet , one for each little man i bought , shipping and everything free !!!! the customer service person was fantastic . i bought these two men to try to slow down vehicles on my nice wide neighborhood street . the street is more like a curved boulevard , but cannot be used as a cut-through , per se' , but some inconsiderate cut the turn close on the inside of curve and almost hit my neighbor's kids as well as my driveway apron curb . these little men basically do a good job of slowing down the inconsiderate drivers . you must make sure to drain the water out of the feet in the winter if you live in a freezing area . i suggest always fill the feet (make sure you get the second foot) with either water or sand , or , if it's windy , the little man will spin around and \ or blow down .

Can you believe there is actually a person in our neighborhood who said they were confused by it?!

With the exception of the mentally slow, everyone else in our neighborhood had told us what a great idea it is. Several have asked where to buy one and many people have told us they send their kids to our street to play because they know the reminder to drivers is right there.

Highly recommended outdoor safety product! I place this at the end of our driveway when my children are outside playing. With it's bright colors, the sign is highly effective at getting people's attention; causing them to reduce their speed as they drive by our yard.

We use this near the playground areas at our church. The only thing that I noticed that could be of better quality was the "plug" that keeps the sand/water in the base. It is made of very thin plastic and is not attached to the base and could be very easily lost or misplaced.

Permission given by City Transportation to put KidAlert in our busy crosswalk. We will soon have two KidAlerts on our two busy streets. It has been the only type of caution we were allowed to display.

Totally love the child likeness. Our green "Franklin" is well known in the community. Several related stories have been shared regarding his importance. We have had to replace two "KidAlerts" as they have been taken from their site. I have had many calls from people who would like to get one for their personal use. I definitely recommend it to friends and families.



Our preschool families are concerned when we do not have our KidAlert out for them.

We have had the green "KidAlerts" previously and they had two stands for each of them that we weighed down with sand. Our newest "KidAlert" is yellow and it has one stand. I prefer having two stands in order to keep the figure in place in the street. Time will tell about the color and figure change.

It's unbelievable that people speed through a neighborhood in the evening when all the kids are outside to save a few seconds. You can literally see th cars pitch forward as the slow down immediately after seeing the KidAlert VWS. If your kids play in the front yard, it's a must have.

The only thing I feel could use improvement is the little black lid for the bottom water/sand area. Maybe it sould be attached in some way...we lost it the 1st day..
