I have had this item for 4 years. My 3 boys are 6, 6 & 8. One of my 6 year olds still plays with it & doesn't want me to give it away. We have great memories of daily fun with this item. I researched all of the other brands & this one had the most fun features. Worth the price. I bought wooden play food pieces with velcro & the kids loved to prepare dinner combinations in this kitchen. I had no problems with assembly or function of drawers, appliance doors, etc, as some reviewers described. Sturdy product.

The set up of the Kitchen took a little time but the directions were clear and easy to follow. Once it was all complete the kitchen looked really good. The only drawback was that they did not provide enough screws for the set and no batteries! Also the kitchen phone died after 3 days of use. It was dropped a few times but by a 1 yr old so it should be more durable than that!!

I purchased this kitchen for my daughter in 2003 for her second Christmas. It was more expensive than other models but I figured it would be worth it in the long run. It was also a little difficult to assemble from what I remember. She just turned six and still plays with it all the time. I would recommend this set to anyone wanting a kitchen set that is durable and will withstand hours of use and even a little abuse.

We bought this kitchen for our daughter when she was just-turned 3, and almost 2 years later it's still a beloved toy in our house! Her almost-2 year old little brother loves it, too, and they often play with it together. It's also hit with other kids when they come over.

We also bought the 100 piece set of food to go with it. The little cardboard box pieces ended up getting squished quite quickly, but the canned goods (I covered the labels with clear contact paper) and the plastic foods have held up great and are wonderful for learning!

I would definitely recommend this kitchen - we love it!

This is the best kitchen out there. I researched ALL kitchens on the market before purchase. This entertains my one year old, me, and her six year old and two year old friends. It doesn't get any better than this. I am missing the butter knives from the pots and pans set that came with it. I didn't notice it, my daughter's friend pointed out that it should have them. Otherwise, awesome awesome awesome! If only the fridge water and ice buttons weren't stickers and worked and the water faucet made noises, then it would be out of this world, but it has everything else!

The first week she met her daddy at the door, took him into her room, made him sit down and proceeded to make him dinner and serve him. He couldn't get over it!! Needless to say Grandma and Grandpa came up with the perfect gift!!

It was an excellent choice to purchase this kitchen for my almost 2 yr old son. He and his friends enjoy playing with it. I am a tad disappointed that one cupboard door wont stay closed and that the refrigerator, microwave and oven doors are rather difficult to open (requiring a lot of force). Also, there are not that many food accessories and other items, so several of my kitchen utensils and plastic ware are supplementing, which clearly this just adds to the fun. Overall, it was an good buy and we would recommend it to others.

I fell inlove with this kitchen online and decided to splurge on it ( and I do mean splurge at a price tag well over [$], thats alot for a kitchen). I was very dissapointed with how difficult the assembly was. The 'pre-drilled holes were either not done equally on both sides or barely there, which caused me to have to improvise with my own kitchen knife. The directions on the manual were terrible as well, not very clear on what to do. I still have nails left over bc I had know idea where they were supposed to go! I figured it all out and started putting on the decals only to realize that they had sent me the wrong ones for a different kitchen all together. I will call tomorrow and hopefull they will send them out right away. When all gets straightened out, Im sure it will be a great toy that my child will love but for now, Im in the middle about this product.

Bought for granddaughter 2nd birthday. She loves it. She is just beginning to pretend play, and I'm amazed how she has taken to it. She cooks, washed her dishes, hands, and even her baby doll in the sink. The boiling and sizzling burner sounds are great. The appliance noises are realistic to her. She makes her own noises as well for the ice/water dispenser and the faucet. Its just the right height for her and plenty of space. I think she likes all the appiances equally and stays very busy as she cooks and feeds all of us and her babies as well. If you need the item in a hurry, then order from step 2, I ordered on tues and got on sat. I put a couple pieces of the food that was small away and got some wood food. The small white drawers do come out and are hard for her to put back. The pots and pans set is good and durable. The assembly was hard and her dad fussed a lot, mostly about putting in the screws.Be careful with the screws that go in the noise makers and the phone, they are little and strip easily. All in all, I am very pleased, nothing is completely perfect. I chose this kitchen for all the storage and appliances. But I wish it had a little more counter space. Thats why I'm ordering the table and chairs that match it. The unit doesn't take up as much space as you'd think, as its in my LR. Guess its time for a playroom.

Our daughter just turned 2 this month and LOVES this play kitchen (which was her main present from us)! She constantly asks to play in her kitchen and wants to "make dinner", etc for us. This kitchen is very realistic and makes our child feel like she can mimic mommy and daddy in the kitchen b/c it is so similar to the real thing. [...]The only downsides were 1)that it took quite awhile to assemble, and in our opinion, definitely needs at least 2 people for assembly, and 2)when completely closed, the fridge door is a bit hard for our 2 year old to open (but we know that this will change as she grows and gets older). Overall, it is a fabulous product and is highly recommended!

We bought this for my daughter when she was 18 months old. 7 months later.. she LOVES her kitchen! Granted, she does use it ALOT more now since we bought her a lot more playfood (this kitchen set does not come with hardly any food). Very big kitchen.. my daughter loves everything you can do with it. I do have some things I want to note. There are 3 sound units (microwave, dishwasher and stove). For the price.. I expected the sounds to last a longer than what they do - they beeps and sounds only last 1-2 seconds. The assembly is difficult.. you need 2 sets of hands for this! And I wish they could have better decorations. On the plus side, my daughter's favorite part are the LifeStyle Pots & Pans that came with it. She loves those - and the sizzling frying pan.. and boiling water pot too. She loves the refrigerator. Kitchen is definitely big enough for several kids to play on too! And the light above the sink.. wonderful :) I do recommend this kitchen to all parents!

My 2 year old granddaughter loves her kitchen so much, she doesn't even want to leave it to go to bed at night. It's her #1 toy. I had it sent to her home and my son and daughter in law had it together in about an hour. One drawer was messed up but a quick call had another one on the way and it was received and installed before her birthday.

I bought this toy for my 2 year old son two weeks ago. I would never have considered purchasing this for him until I took him to a local indoor gym that had a play kitchen. I saw his imagination and pretend play skills really come through. I thought it was ideal to get one for home. It's also a great baby sitter and looks nice in his play room. All of his little friends flock to this toy when they come over. It's definitely the main attraction for girls and for boys.

The assembly process is much smoother if you view the Step 2 video from their site while you are putting it together. The visual aid really made the difference. Also, an extra set of hands is crucial and will make this entire experience more positive. I recruited my husband to help while our son was napping. Be sure to set aside about an hour from beginning to end. There are a lot of parts and a ton of nails in various sizes so lay them all out on the carpet as instructed by the video before you begin. Another tip is to purchase all of the batteries before you begin assembly. You do not want to have to go back to inserting them once you've gone through the assembly process!

Good luck! Once you get the assembly part over with, you will be so happy to see the amount of joy your child gets out of this toy.

[...] It was missing pieces and the oven door wouldn't stay closed so we had to have it replaced. Also, the light is really hard for them to turn on, it has to be pushed about 5 or 6 times to turn on. It wasn't too hard to assemble, I had my husband help me with one part. A friend of ours got the same kitchen for her twins and they were also missing parts.

I cant believe how totally cute this kitchen is! We wanted to get one for our daughters for Christmas and were going the get the model below this one. I won points at work and the cataloge had this one available so I ordered it. Worth every moment of hard work and I can't believe we were able to get such an amazing toy for our girls. My girls are 2 and 4 and the big fight is actually trying to get my 10 year old neice to stop playing with it! It's the first thing they want to play with in the morning and the last thing they're playing with at night. If they are playing with dolls it's only because they're making food in the kitchen to feed them.

Now, other people have mentioned that there are a lot of stickers. I have to tell you that I didn't find them difficult to apply at all. A couple times I miss centered them and they were pretty easy to pull up and reposition. But once they were pressed and smoothed down I felt confident that they are there to stay!

A beautiful toy that I would buy 100X over.

I was a little concerned that it may be too big for just her but it's been perfect for when she has a play date or if we have any more children. It was very easy to assemble and is very durable. I will say that the oven part of it is difficult to open and close ..My daughter can't do either without help and the light above the sink stopped working after about 5 weeks. Other than that, it's been a great purchase and I would recommend it to anyone thinking of purchasing this for one or more children.

My two year old received this kitchen set from "Santa" this past Christmas, and she LOVES it! It took me (Santa's helper) two hours to put it together (a month before Christmas, just in case there was anything wrong with it!) while my husband sat on the couch watching a race! I had no trouble with any of it...and I was only using a regular screw driver beause someone (could it be the afor-mentioned husband?) lost the charger for the screw gun! I chose not to put the UGLY fruit/grape border stickers on the top...and it looks fine (trust me...BETTER) without them! We stored it in the garage until the big day and Savannah LOVED it on site! She still plays with it every single day. She makes us our after dinner coffees, sandwiches, fruit desserts etc... I wanted to buy the accessory food set directly from this website, but it would have been[...], so I purchased several smaller play food sets locally.[...] through a step two promo on the kitchen set though, NO STORE could compete with the price of the kitchen right here on this website...[...]it was the buy of the century! Whenever someone comes over our house...be they child or adult...they go directly for that kitchen set! It is irresistable because of how true to life the features are. There are so many sound effects it's amazing! My favorite is the "sizzle" sound the frying pan makes on the burner...who wouldn't love making bacon without the greasy splatters?

I love to cook and my two boys, 3 and 4, like to help out in the kitchen. Since they are limited to what they can do in the 'real' kitchen, we got them this play kitchen so they can take their turn and be the chefs in their own kitchen. It's great for role playing and teaching them real life skills! We've had it for a week and we've played with it every night!

My daughter has had this product for about 2 months now and she loves it. It helps that the kitchen appliances have real working buttons and sounds for that real look and feel. Additionally, the storage is GREAT! We bought a lot of other accessories with it and we were very thankful it had so much storage!

It took my husband and I a couple of hours to assemble. The doors are flimsy and don't align. We also bought the 101 piece accessory set, which is nice.
Good cooking sounds and accessories. Keeps my son busy for awhile. He's happy with it.

The kitchen is wonderful. Everyone really enjoys playing with it for hours and hours. It had a lot of stickers but, they pull the look all together and are not as hard to do as the seem at first. I looked at all the kitchens out there and would buy this one over and over. We love it!! The oven door didn't stay closed but with a little velcor it works now.

We received our kitchen yesterday for my 6 year old daughters birthday. She loves it. I researched all of the kitchens and ordered the biggest one that I could find, because of her age and size. This will work for her. The only problem we have is the oven door will not close. I would think that the manufacturer would not have sent it like that. Now I'm going to go buy some velcro and see if that will work.

My youngest daughter received this from Santa in 2005. There hasn't been a day that goes by that she and my other children do not play with it! This is a very sturdy kitchen and has been proven through the test of time. I would not recommend anything else as far as play kitchens go but this one! Sometimes my daughters play a little rough with it as all kids do, but it is still holding strong after all these years! I am so glad Santa brought it to my daughter! She has enjoyed it as well as my other two children much more than all the other toys!

Very easy to assemble! Actually, putting the stickers on was the most time consuming part. I do wish the drawers stayed in a little better. And for the price, I think some extra food/accessories should be included.

Overall, my 2 and 5 year old children love their kitchen. It's big enough for both of them to play without getting in each other's way, yet compact enough not to take up tons of space.

I did my homework before buying this kitchen, and it didn't disappoint! It has more features and electronics to make it more realistic than even the bigger (walk-in)style kitchens I've seen. It's large enough to keep 2-3 kids occupied without tripping over each other and is very durable and attractive. My kids never get tired of playing with it like some of their other toys (I have 2 girls ages 2 1/2 and 1 1/2). Even my 10 year old son thinks it's fun. Shipping was quick. Only bad thing was the oven falls open really easy --it came like that, but I just put two little squares of velcro on it & it works fine; not enough of an inconvenience to phase me! I am very pleased with this product.

As the happy owner of several other Step2 products, I looked here first when I decided that my kids would love a play kitchen for Christmas. After reading all of the "rave" reviews on this kitchen, I decided this was it. It is a nice kitchen, very durable, and has some "cool" features...the light over the sink, the baskets for storage, the buttons for sounds. I was also very excited about all of the extra drawers (a utensil drawer!!) and other storage. However, once I put the kitchen together, I was disappointed with the very utensil drawer that I was so psyched about! It just falls right out even when only opened halfway (and the drawer is barely deep enough to hold much). The other drawers come out easily as well. Kind of a bummer when I see my kids try to put stuff in and out of the drawers and they just fall right out and everything spills on the floor. They don't even use them anymore. I also am a little disappointed with the two cabinet doors up top... I wish they each had a small shelf in them to help store more. Regardless of my complaints, I would still recommend this kitchen compared to others out there...I just wish they'd redesign the drawers and cabinets to work properly...oh, and I think the fridge should be magnetic so the kids could put magnets on it...just like mom's fridge! (I hope Step2 reads this!!!)

This is a great kitchen! I have 4 kids, so I know it is getting its use. I have 3 boys and 1 girl, and they all play together. I don't mind playing with them, because this is what I dreamed of when I was a little girl. We have had this kitchen for over a year and it is still a hit. Unfortunately we lost our phone within one week of putting it together. I just called to order a replacement part. I fully expected to be charged, but they were very nice and sent it to us for free! Thank you!

Why is my toddler's pretend kitchen nicer than my own real kitchen?!?!? She absolutely LOVES playing and pretending with this beautiful kitchen! She loves being the little chef and she has so many fun options with this kitchen. It's just the minature version of the real thing. Buttons that make noice with fridge, oven, microwave, stove, even cordless phone. I know she will have many fun years with her favorite Christmas gift!!

My granddaughter spends a lot of time playing in her kitchen. The very first thing that she does is turn the light on over the sink, and then gets busy playing. She LOVES the things that make the sounds. That is a favorite of hers.
Grandpa is very strict about not getting anything that is past her age range (she's 18 months) but I stood my ground on this one. I love Step 2 products, they last forever, and I knew that she would do great with it.
If I had to be nit-picky I would say that it would be nice to be able to choose from a couple of different color schemes because at the moment if you want the different color you have to go with a different model.
Since I think that the stickers are so realistic, I think that it would be neat to have one inside the fridge door with all of the stuff that you would normally see in the door racks.
It would have been nice to have a few more accessories, and for that matter I wish there was a larger selection of food and kitchen items, pots, pans etc. for children under 2 years old. Just about everything we have seen in the stores has been for 2 & 3 year olds.
This is a fantastic kitchen. The LifeStyle kitchens are by far the best I have seen, and I did tons of checking before buying.
I put this together by myself so it took me a little longer but that was fine. I absolutely recommend a cordless screwdriver. Instructions were great. Trust me, you will be very happy if you use a powered screwdriver for this project.
I would recommend that you get the Cooking Essentials stool that is sold separately. I got the 11", which at the time sounded way too little but it is just perfect and she always uses it in her kitchen.
We all here give the Step 2-Lifestyle Deluxe Kitchen all thumbs up. Can't say enough good things about it. I just can't wait for spring to get here so that we can get the outside play sets!

I recently bought the Deluxe kitchen for my 15 month old daughter and she absolutely loves it!! She has had some play dates with children that are older and it really keeps them all equally happy and occupied. I can't comment on the durability of the product yet but it appears to be pretty sturdy. I will definitely recommend this kitchen to other parents.
