Our one year old and four year old both enjoy playing with this kitchen. It has all the features you would look for in a toy kitchen, without taking up too much space. It was easy for my husband to assemble (only took about 1/2 an hour with a drill). The colors are neutral and blend in. I just wish the faucet had sound.

I just would of liked if the faucet and the door of the refrigerator would have made water sounds. Also, if the light would turn off by it self after a while.
Other than that it is a great toy. My son loves it!

She cooks for everyone daily including me, her dolls, Daddy, and the Grandparents. It think it's wonderful for her imagination and developing speech skills. My son received this kitchen for his 3rd birthday along with the Step 2 101 piece play food assortment. He loves it!! He plays with the kitchen and "cooks" us food all the time. This is great for pretend play and really gets his imagination going. The kitchen seems very durable and well made, the color scheme is great for a boy or girl, which I like, and it has lots and lots of fun little features that keep him entertained. We were debating about getting this kitchen or the larger more expensive one and I'm very happy with this one. Our 3 year old loves it and our 8 month old loves to gnaw on the plastic food so everyone's happy. :)

Wow, where was Step 2 when I was growing up? This is a great set for young children. My grand-daughter took to this kitchen even before the assembly was finished. The assembly is a snap and instructions detailed. I think the food should be a bit bigger so it looks more actual size and presents less of a choke hazzard. Other than that the kitchen is a hoot and fun to play with. Now I understand all the rave reviews from past purchasers. [...]

It is so fun to see my son's imagination grow with this kitchen. He was immediately drawn to the kitchen. In fact, he was playing with it before I even got it fully assembled. He is almost 2 and the height is perfect for him. He can reach all of the features. He is like the little chef already and is cooking up a storm with Mom and Dad. The food that comes with it is just fine (we also purchased additional food from another company). I agree with another reviewer that I wish the sink made a water sound when you push that tap.

Overall, great product! Looks great in our kitchen. Not another too bright and shiny plastic piece, but something that is realistic and fun for the whole family.

My 2 year old daughter received this kitchen as a birthday present from her grandparents. She absolutely LOVES it! The sound effects on the microwave, oven, phone and stove are big hits and she loves being able to turn the kitchen light "on" and "off". I love that it has everything a real kitchen would have but in one piece as opposed to a separate stove, sink, and refrigerator. We're tight for space! The only complaint so far has been that it took almost 3 hours to put the whole thing together. But my daughter would say that the time spent was well worth it!

My daughter received this as a gift for her 2nd birthday. She loves it. She starts "cooking" the moment she wakes up. The storage space on this seems better than the Party kitchen and that was one of the deciding factors (plus the working oven). Overall, I'm thrilled we bought this one..and so is she!

I assemebled this myself in about 30 minutes, and all I was lacking was a tiny headed phillips screwdriver. The stickers are so life like, the toys and accessories are life like and adorable. My son loves this, I mean loves it. He plays with it at least once a day. It's just so cute and so much fun.

Only complaint... is that the sounds are not very loud (which could be good sometimes) but we would definitely purchase again. Did require power tools to put together but relatively easy to do.

We Purchased this Kitchen for our 2 year old daughter this past Christmas, and it was one of the best decisions we've made! It fits perfectly against the wall in her room and she spends a couple of hours (total time) playing and pretending to cook at it everyday. She loves all of the little buttons and the cell phone. I only wish that the faucet had a water-like sound affect. Sooooo pleased with this product!

We gave this to my daughter for Christmas, just before she turned 3. She is now 7, and still plays with it a ton. This kitchen has held up incredibly (to 3 moves, and hours upon hours of play by many kids!). Her younger sister loves it too. I am so glad we purchased this. Each time kids come to play at our house, this is one of the favorites. The light & sounds are cute, the color scheme is pleasant. A hit for the whole family!

Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:

My 26 month old LOVES this kitchen. I wish I had bought it sooner. Our house is small, so this kitchen fits perfectly into her play area without sacrificing features or storage. She loves that her kitchen looks like Mommy's (the cabinets, a microwave and oven with electronic keypads, refrigerator, drawer with a utensil tray, an overhead light, etc.). The sizzling stove w/ flashing red lights is realistic, and she cautions "Hot! Be careful!". I did not add the window or border decals and it looks better. Assembly is not difficult; it just takes time. I also bought the 101 piece play food set and there is plenty of room to store it plus additional dishes and food she already had.

I am a Step2 fan! Everything I've purchased has been excellent.

My daugther loves her kitchen and so do my neighbors 3 and 6 yr old sons. We also have the matching dining room table and the 3 of them can all play together. It it their favorite toy when they play together indoors. It takes a litte time to assemble but it is quite easy with electric drill. One sound on the burner stopped working after a few months but Step2 was great about sending out a new burner when we reported the problem. I would suggested purchasing an adapter if you will use the light often (save on batteries). This is just one of the several Step2 products we own and love!

We bought this for our 2 year old daughter for Christmas. She loves it!!! For Christmas, we set it up in her new "big girl" room. When we showed her room to her, the first thing she played with was her kitchen! I love the fact that it has lots of storage space, especially the utensil drawer. She loves to cook food for us to "eat". She even tries to feed her new baby brother what she has cooked. It is just the right height for her to reach everything. Also, it doesn't take up too much space in her room. I am very pleased with the quality of Step 2 products and I'm confident it will last for several years. I researched all the play kitchens offered and thought this was the best one for a great price!

I have a one year old and a three year old. They have torn up this kitchen! The oven door never stays shut. The burner that sizzles is broke from my kids. They pulled it off of the base where it screws in and broke the plastic. They are to young to tear up a kitchen. I had a kitchen when I was little and I was hard on it and it is in better shape then this one. I have not called step two because it is assembled and I don't know where all the little dishs are. We have many totes with toys. I have never seen a one year and three year old that could tear up something like this. I paid to much for it to only last 6 months.

I bought this for my 2 sons, ages 2 and 4, to encourage more pretend play. This has been a wonderful tool for that. They not only use their imaginations more, they also play really well together with this toy. There is enough room for both of them. I highly recommend this kitchen!

The Kitchen is nice but the stickers got to go, a little tacky.Evertime my two year old opens the oven door it comes off and does not stay on. I am to the point that I just stopped trying to put it back on.Has to be up against a wall because it is not sturdy.[...]However, to a two year, she does not notice these things and she playes with it daily.

We bought this kitchen for our 3 year olds birthday and he loves it! Assembly was easy for my not-so-handy hubby. The kitchen has great features and is realistic. One of two cons is that I wish that the unit came with more accessories that activated the stove burners. Secondly, I think that all of these play kitchens are over priced but we were willing to pay for a Step 2 product.

I bought this for my 14 month old daughter for Christmas this past year and she loves it!! She plays with it every day making meals for our whole family an even feeds her dolls. She loves pushing all the buttons on the phone, oven and microwave. I also love all the storage space for all her accessories. My husband and I agree that this was the best thing we could have bought for her. Great toy!!!

I was so excited to get a play kitchen for my 17 month old daughter. The instant we presented it to her she started to "pretend" to make things and even licks her lips after she takes a "taste" of her own creation. The step 2 dream kitchen is fantastially durable and all the different storage areas are super fun for my girl as well as for me. She's learning to put things back where they "belong" and making pretend sounds for things like the water faucet. We are creating wonderful memories together and I'm so glad I did all the research to find just the perfect play kitchen.

I have read a ton of complaints about how difficult it was to assemble, holes not lining up, need 2 people, etc. Ours assembled perfectly. I researched every kitchen available, absolutely ecstatic about my choice. Tons of storage, cute design. Absolutely love it! I agree that the faucet should make noise, but has so many other sounds, you'll never miss it. Price is right. I have a 2 yr girl and 6 yr boy. Both play together everyday. Thought my husband would roll his eyes at me for spoiling our 2 yr old, he looked over at it and said, "That is so impressive, she's going to love it!"

My 3 year old daughter loves her kitchen. It is great for when she is playing by herself and also when she has a friend over to play. It was easy to put together, the instructions were easy to follow and I love that it was made in America. But really?? The phone and accessories were made in China? Why not just make it all here? Other than that small and minor complaint, you should be proud that this company makes such wonderful products for children. They are beautiful and the thoughtful details really are impressive. Thank you for designing such great toys!

I bought this for my son's first bday bc he loves watching me in the kitchen. Now he "cooks" everytime I do and then some even though he's very much a boy's boy. He figured out how to turn on the light, use the stove, store things, etc. My husband and I have enjoyed watching him play with this over the last 7 months so much that I am about to by the walk-in version to get more counter/storage space as he got a blender and mixer for Christmas that he really enjoys as well. Great imagination station, fun for the kids and entertaining for the parents.

My husband and I did all the research and felt the Dream Kitchen was the best, boy were we right! My 20 month old enjoys the kitchen every day. My husband and daughter served a whole wedding party one night! She talks on the phone to Grandma and Papa, makes fried chicken in the fry pan, warms up baby bottles in the pot, and a million other fun activities! It is amazing to watch her imagination at work. Thank you Step2!

My daughter received this gift from Santa at Christmas. This was the only thing she wanted. The kitchen was easy to assemble with easy to understand directions. The kitchen is realistic with working sounds and lights. I do think however the kitchen should come with more food, as we had to purchase this separately. Besides that, this was a great investment that is sure to entertain for many years. Great Buy!!

Wonderful play kitchen

Little counter space, Needs alot of Batteries

Imaginative Play

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

My 2 1/2 year old daughter enjoys cooking for me with her own little kitchen and often plays with it daily. She slams and pulls the doors and it holds up. I love the fact that the light has an automatic shut off because my daughter is one who like it on all the time. It has plenty of storage space for all the accessories it comes with plus all the extras I bought for it. The drying rack we never use because the plates never stay, they fall. The sink has no sound, and it lacks counter space, but over all a wonderful kitchen that provides hours of play.

We purchased this set just over four years ago for Christmas 2003 when the kids were almost 4, almost 2, and 8mths. . . And it has held up beautifully--a quick once-over with some wet-wipes and it looks just as good as new! We use it as the kitchen area in our "playhouse" under the stairs and the lights and sounds have really helped to accomplish the "real-but-miniature" effect I was shooting for. The only complaint I have is that the plate rack above the sink really has no function. The plates that came with the set do not fit snugly enough and fall out after a few minutes of being precariously perched, as if maybe the mold was made for plates with a slightly different shape?? . . .And without plates, the always-empty plate rack is a bit of an eyesore and looks as if we've lost some of the pieces. The kids don't care, though. They're almost 8, 6 and 5 and all still really enjoy playing together with this product. . . They're getting taller, so placing the whole unit on a row of bricks raises the counter-height up to a more realistic level for them. It is probably the most timeless and durable toy we've ever purchased. Very, very pleased.

Bottom line is the kitchen is great. It stinks it uses so many batteries, but that's what makes all the neat little noises go like the phone, light, oven, microwave, stove etc. My child loves it and so have friends that have come by with their own children.

I bought this as a christmas present this year for my daughter who will be 3 in March. And she loves it, plus I know that our other daughter who is almost one will also get to use it. I was a little afraid to put it together without my husband who is overseas right now, but it was actually really easy to put together. If I can do it, anyone can do it. Great product!!

The design of this item is so clever--they have packed so many features into a compact space. It's cute without being overly feminine or unrealistic. So far, everyone who's seen it (adults included) has exclaimed over it and immediately wanted to open all the doors and explore all the features.

This kitchen has been great. We got it for our daughter for Christmas. We live in a single wide trailer and space is tight. It is not too large yet not too small. It is really the perfect height and size for our two year old and our trailer space. The minute our daughter layed eyes on it she went right to work making us tea, cooking, washing dishes, talking on the phone and more. The storage spaces are very functional and provide a decent amount of space to store accessories while not being large enough that we have to worry about her climbing in and getting stuck or anything. She plays with it daily. We have had it for two weeks now and have no complaints at all. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with a toddler.
