Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

I watch my 21 month old Granddaughter full-time. Got her this kitchen for Xmas...WAS A BIG HIT. 2 months latter and she is still "cooking" a few hours everyday! I also got her the table and chairs by Step 2 and she loves to "serve" meals there. The kitchen is realistic and laid out perfectly for children. The only issue we have had is that she has stood on the oven door so much, it will no longer stay shut (her fault not the products). I AM SO HAPPY WITH THE QUALITY OF STEP2 PRODUCTS! I have also purchased the roller coaster, which she also loves. Their products are easy to assemble and DURABLE and reasonably priced. I prefer them to Little Tikes ANY DAY!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

I bought this for my daughter's 2nd b-day, and after a month I already feel like we've gotten our money's worth from it! She plays with it daily, sometimes for an hour or two at a time, and it is by far her favorite toy.

My friends with children the same age who got other kitchens are not nearly as satisfied...I don't know if my daughter is just unusually happy with her kitchen, or if it's the specific one, but she doesn't seem all that interested in her friends' kitchens.

I would recommend this to everyone. It is perfect for a 2-year-old, and I think she will still be able to play with it as she gets older.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

Nice compact size for small homes. Lots of cabinets/doors/drawers for the little one to open and close. Yes they are small, but still large enough to hold little toys. Took about 45 mins to put together with two people. Make sure you have a lot of batteries prior to putting together. I agree with other reviewers that the kitchen would be better if the sink faucet and refrigerator made noise. Also, the set should come with more toy foods/pots/pans. Overall I am happy with the purchase.

We added this to a baby doll nursery set for our daughter, so now she can really "play house". Really like the cabinets and drawers. A good number of accessories which makes it fun as well. Just be prepared that this kitchen will require lots of batteries. Also needed help from husband to fully assemble all pieces. But overall, a great purchase and will provide lots of fun over the years.

My kids ages 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 love their new kitchen set. It's really cute, sturdy, was easy to assemble (only ran into one small problem where there were a couple missing pre-drilled holes for the backsplash - but it didn't really matter. My only complaint is that there isn't a lot of storage space for dishes, food, etc. The items that come with it fit fine, but if you have more then that it won't all fit. Otherwise, it's a nice little set!

Santa brought this kitchen for our daughter for Christmas and it was a huge hit! She absolutely adores "baking" cookies and pies in the oven and enjoys the realistic controls. Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

We were so excited when my parents bought this for my daughter. Most of the kitchen is great, but the oven door will not stay closed. It is too tight of a fit and pops open seconds after closing. This make it seem like a step for my daughter to climb.
I contacted Step2 and they sent me a screw to make it close, but as I told them when they offered me this as a solution - the door is too tight. There is no way adding this screw will solve the problem.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

The kitchen was smaller than expected, however, it is very realistic and cute. I was about to get the bigger one that came with the dishwasher, but this one turned out to be a much better deal considering the amount for which they had it on sale at the time, and that it came with almost the same amount of accessories as the bigger and more expensive ones. I would improve all kitchens by adding more play food, and that is why I did not give it the five stars. Over all, it has a lot of fun sounds, which makes it a nice toy indeed.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

When this showed up at my house my dad questioned me buying a kitchen for a boy!!! I told him that my 2 year old loves to get into my kitchen drawers and play with the real thing. He also broke 2 drawers hanging on them trying to get my stuff out. That is when I made the decision to by this for my son's birthday. He absolutely loves it esp. all the noises it makes. So far he has stayed out of my stuff. This is also great for an apartment because it is more compact than the Deluxe version. I am a single mom and it only took me an hour to put together even with my son "helping" me. A cordless drill is very useful too. P.S. My dad still doesn't understand :o)

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

My child loves the Dream Kitchen. It's similar to the one she plays with at her day care center, except they have the Deluxe. It's realistic, it makes microwave, oven, and stovetop sounds. It also has a working light. My daughter always pretends she is cooking and can't get enough of it. The only down side of the product is that it has too many separate parts that need to be put together, and there are no pilot holes drilled for the screws. This makes assembly a bit strenuous. I'm a father, and I'm very handy, however, I can't imagine how tough it would be for moms to put it together.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

The design and quality is great, there's more than enough storage for all of their dishes and foods, you provided more than enough dishes.{we bought extra thinking they wouldn't have enough to play with} I just wished that both burners made sounds, or there was 4 burners with sounds for them to cook on, but overall they love it,and when one is playing alone they have a great time. I'm very impressed with it, and would purchase another one in a heartbeat...Just only wished It was around when I was their age.

Service & Delivery comments:

To prevent them from arguing over who's cooking on the eye with the sound, I would add more burners with sounds, also add light inside the oven along with a timer to let them know that their food is done.

The kitchen is Great! My granddaughter loves it!!!
If I were to suggest a few changes it would be a little more storage or better yet a pantry that matches, would be prefect for those of us that want the extra storage. The buttoms on the burners that make the cooking sounds need to redesigned, they do not stick up high enough,so when a pan is but on the burner it makes the sounds. I added a little paper under the bunner sticker and now they WORK!

Its a very cute kitchen, but it took awhile to assemble. It takes a lot of batteries. The refrigerator door gets stuck. And the drawers come undone when pushed in or pulled out in a certain way. Also the toy phone's battery lid doesn't stay shut. The screw won't hold its grip. Other than that it was a good purchase at a reasonable price.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

The only complaint I have is that the knob for the stove would not stay on and my husband had to super glue it so now it does not move. Everything else is great. They love playing with the phone and pushing the buttons on the appliances.

The kitchen looks fabulous. My kids are not quite 2 yet so they don't know how to use it yet, but I know soon they'll be using their imaginations and having so much fun with it.

I purchased this kitchen for my 2 year old daughter for Christmas and she just loves it! At least once a day she comes to me and declares it's "Kitchen Time" where she cooks me fabulous imaginary meals. It only took about a half an hour to assemble then another 20 minutes or so to get all the stickers on correctly. [...] All in all, it was a great purchase.

My girls (2 and 4) got this for Christmas and they love it! I have been eating plastic food since that day. The assembly wasn't really hard just time consuming. The phone isn't that loud but other than that it's great! I haven't had any problems with it yet and it keeps their attention. It's situated in their room and doesn't take up too much space.

I bought this for my 2 yr old son and for playgroup time with hopes to pass down to my younger daughter...when she is ready. My son is the roughest and toughest of boys and this kitchen is holding up well. All the doors are staying on unlike a McDonald's drive thru I got for him last time. It wasn't to bad to put together, by myself with two children (husband in Iraq). I'm glad my husband left a power screwdriver/drill thingy (charged) for me with the same size I needed...you would have trouble without one. Overall...love it!!!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

My two grandaughters, ages one and two play together beautifully with this kitchen or alone. It seems the perfect size for them. I purchased some stickers and they personalized the fridge with their favorite characters. I think more dishes in brigter colors and maybe a teapot and cups (all of which I purchased separately)would add a lot to the kitchen. The only item that could be improved is the way the dishes fit on the rack...a little too difficult.

Our granddaughter is now the one making breakfast! Her favorite thing is the light above the sink, she turns it on every time she starts to play and shuts it off when the kitchen is closing. The only thing the plates/bowls that came with it really don't fit very well in the plate rack, the edges are too rounded and always fall out.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

My husband does most of the cooking in our home so we definitely wanted to get our 18 month old son his own kitchen for Christmas so he could play like Daddy. My husband was concerned because none of the reviews mentioned boys playing with this item but we could not be happier with the amount of time our sons spends exploring in his own play space. It is definitely age appropriate for our 18 month old and will allow plenty of options as he grows!

We love this kitchen, the assembly was reasonable and I was especially pleased that you could remove and reposition all of the realistic stickers that came with it. I had been cautioned by friends who had earlier versions of this kitchen about the difficult of the sticker placement and was pleasantly surprised at the improved materials used that allowed for precise placement.

Love it! Our only problem was deciding which model to purchase!

Service & Delivery comments:

Return options are very poor. We purchased this kitchen from your website as a Christmas present for our daughter. By coincidence, my brother-in-law purchased the same item from your website. When we called to review our return options, we were told that we could return it to your facility in OH but we would have to pay the shipping charges. After calling different carriers as well as USPS, we found that the cost to ship the item is as much as the item itself! Bottom line, I would not recommend purchasing an item from your website. What a shame! I suggest improving your customer service. This is my first and last online purchase with Step 2.

This is not the first time I have purchased Step2 products. When looking for a kitchen for my boys (yes, boys like to cook too) I turned to Step2 first. I was pleased when the kitchen arrived. Very sturdy and good quality, as I expected from this brand. Easy to put together. Other Step2 products have lasted through my boys' rough play unlike some other cheap plastic toys. I highly recommend this kitchen, though others looked good too!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

I got this for my twin 21 month old granddaughters for Christmas and they loved it as soon as they saw it. I also got them the step 2 table and chairs in Nov. They cook, set their table and imitate what they see their mom and dad do in the kitchen. There were plenty of accessories and I also got them a set of dishes.

My daughter said it took her 2 hrs. to put together ,but it was not hard.
Drawbacks- The knobs to the stove do not stay on [will have to be glued on]and the pot stopped boiling and making sounds the first day it was used. My daughter is going to contact Step 2 and hopefully get a new part for the boiling pot. The phone and microwave sounds could be a little louder.

Made in the U.S.A sold me right away.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

My three year old daughter received this from Santa this year for Christmas. She was so excited we literally had to pull her away to open the rest of her gifts. She has played with it quite a bit more than anything else she received. I do have two things I wish were different. First it took my husband quite awhile to put together. He said the instructions were the most vague and confusing instructions he had ever followed. (He is very competent with assembling items, so I don't think it was just him) Second, the door of the oven only lasted a day before it would no longer shut. The overall kitchen compensates for these two concerns though. I would definitely recommend purchasing this item!

Service & Delivery comments:

This takes quite awhile to set up. Do not wait to the last minute to begin assembling it.

I wish the oven opened sideways or was a bit more sturdy. I caught my daughter using the door to the oven as a "step" to reach into the microwave. I have since spoken to her about not stepping on the door. However, it is now too late as the door will not close anymore.

This is being a bit picky, but I wish the faucet made noise.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

I ordered this kitchen as a Christmas present for my 2 1/2 year old daughter, but it ended up thrilling my 9 month old son as well! He loves to stand next to his sister at the kitchen and watch what she is doing or bang around with the utensils. My daughter started cooking us meals Christmas day and loves to make us salads (is she trying to tell me something? :)
My husband was able to assemble this by himself in under 2 hours on Christmas Eve. He did need an electric drill because some of the holes were not drilled out. We do have two problems with the oven - first, the electronic portion will not fit back in and now the screw is stripped from trying to install it, and second, the oven door will NOT stay closed. We have rigged it with some thick velcro tape, however even that is not working great. We plan on contacting Step 2 about this problem.
However, overall a fantastic product and heads above some of the other kitchens we were considering!

My daughter loves the sounds that the stove makes, like the boiling water, or the sizzling of the frying pan. Its all very realistic. This was a great Xmas gift to our 2yr old daughter from Santa this year. She was definitely excited to receive the gift and has played with it everyday since she got it. She loves the sounds of the stove, oven, microwave, and phone. We had a bit of difficulty assembling the panel that's suppose to go behind the kitchen set. Our set had no screw holes for it so we opted not to place the panel on. Assembly took us about 2-3hrs but that's without power tools. Otherwise, it works great and would buy again.

So I bought another kitchen this year for my other granddaughter in another family. She is only a year old, but loves the sound effects and opening and shutting the doors and pulling out the dishes and pots and pans that came with the kitchen. My son said it was easy to put together. This is a toy that will last for years!!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

The product is great and my son loves playing with it. He cooks for everyone and wants everyone to play with him. It keeps him busy for hours and as a first time parent I enjoy watching him mix the food up to make different combination of plate.

The top cabinets doors do not stay closed, but its just a minor problem.

Service & Delivery comments:

I would want all the products that make noise to be louder. My son have a slight hearing loss and can not hear his products unless he place his ear next to it. It becomes very hard for him to hear his microwave and oven. Overall he loves the toy so I am happy.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

Not difficult to assemble, however the screws for the battery compartments strip out easily. EXTREMELY disappointing. The sounds aren't realistic at all, but my son doesn't care! He loves it!

Would have been nice having all one size of battery. I went out to buy a bunch after looking at one of the devices, to find that it takes different size batts. for different devices.

Place batteries before you assemble! I can't get the overhead light off now to get batts in, because screws are stripped out!

A total pain to replace batteries!

Bottom line... My son loves it!!

Service & Delivery comments:

I loved the kitchen as well as the pricing, but was VERY disapointed that I could not purchase the dream kitchen table & chairs. I tried the step-2 website to no avail and found a used set on E-bay. I did not purchase the set on E-bay because it was all scuffed up. How can I find the matching table set if you don't sell it? Why do you sell the kitchen but not the matching table and chairs????????????

Structure is sooo life like and once build it's durable not flimsy like other kitchen sets I have seen.... I'm very impressed and defintly recomend it....

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

Our 15 month old daughter has had the item for about 2 weeks now and plays with it daily for extended periods of time. She is fascinated with lights and loves the light above the sink, she's too short to turn it on by herself though. Overall the item is very good quality and assembly was easy, took less than an hour. Glad we bought the 125 piece accessory food set to go with it, otherwise kitchen would be a little bare. Holiday promotional price [...] WHAT A DEAL!!! Lots cheaper than local toy store. Very happy with purchase. Would of loved to have the Grande walk-in kitchen but felt the size of it would someday become a hassle. This is nice and compact and fits against a wall very nicely. Plenty of stuff for her to do with all the doors that open and close.Assembly Note: make sure to have a power drill on hand.

Service & Delivery comments:

To get all the electronics to work we needed a mix of AAA and AA batteries. Why not just make all of them the same?

Utensil drawer should have a pull knob like the cabinet doors. Took a few days for her to learn to pull out from underneath.

Make sure to allow the item and stickers to warm up to room temperature before applying. This shouldn't be a problem if you follow the directions, as it's the last thing you do after assembly.

My kids, 1 1/2 and 4, received this as a gift for Christmas. We had no problems with putting it together. It was actually quite easy. The only problem we had was the keypad for the microwave did not work, but we contacted customer service and they are sending out a new one. As far as the drawers that come all the way out, it is kind of a pain to put them back in all the time. But I think if they were fixed, the drawers would be used for climbing. So I am glad they are not and will happily place them back in. This has been a great toy so far and both of my kids love it!

We purchased this kitchen for our 22 month old twin granddaughters. They LOVE it! They giggle with delight when the water "boils" and the bacon "sizzles". I researched kitchens from many companys and am delighted with our choice. Assembly was a breeze UNTIL grandpa came to the touch pads with batteries. That was a little difficult, but well worth the struggle as the girls love the real buttons vs. decals. I might add, the sounds made by punching the buttons is a soft sound....not too loud, not too soft. Fantastic for a household of multiple children. Our son says the girls play with it all the time, so I must say I'd buy it again!

I bought this product for my 22-month-old great-granddaughter, and she loves it. She spends a lot of time playing with it, and loves the sounds of the food "cooking". I love watching her as she uses her imagination while she plays with the kitchen. She sits her dolls at a table and chair set she has, and sets the table with the plates, cups and silverware that came with the kitchen. The she puts the food she cooks on the plates, and feeds her dolls. It is so cute to watch.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

We bought two of these for our grandsons: 2yrs old living in a NYC apt, and 3 yrs & 1 yr old living in a small house in TX. It has plenty of features and room enough for two to play, yet doesn't take up a lot of floor space. The colors are gender-neutral & attractive in the home. The drawer for utensils is great for "matching sizes". The kitchen is made tall enough so the boys don't out-grow it (while the littlest guy can still play with the bottom doors!). Like the over-sink light! They use the phone all over the house. Would prefer more cabinet doors instead of the "bins". Would like a coffee pot (although they just pretend the pitcher is one). Having the sink faucet make a clicking or "water" sound would be a nice addition.

Service & Delivery comments:

Once the batteries were inserted for the microwave and the oven, it was difficult to line up the screw holes on the above items and the main kitchen.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

My 2.5 year olds plays with this kitchen everyday. My only complaints are that the oven is small, so you can't fit a small melissa and doug pan in it to "bake cookie". I also hated the coutry apple border and left it off, as it clashed with our modern aesthetic.

Service & Delivery comments:

Also, the holes need to be made bigger or better so that it can be more easily put together.

make it a more neutral design when considering the border and backsplash. These pieces live in rooms with other furniture.

I wish there were better views of the set, closer, and also the demensions of the product and the little components.

She plays with this for hours and never gets bored of it, even my 10 year old daughter will play with it with her sister! The only thing is assembley could be alittle easier and better directions! It took awhile for Santa to set this up, longer then we thought but all in all for the price, quality and enjoyment you can't go wrong!! A++++++

We ordered this kitchen off the website and it came in a matter of days. It was a Christmas Gift for our 29month old son. My husband said that it was easy to but together but did take about a hour. Came with a good amount of plate, bowls etc. The burner makes noise like you are cooking and my son loves the noises on the microwave and on the stove. The fridge door sticks a little but it is a excellent kitchen.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

Unless you don't own a screwdriver, this thing is a piece of cake to assemble. It will help if you have a power screwdriver, but if not, nothing a little elbow grease can't solve.

I almost bought the bigger kitchen but glad I chose this one. Both of my kids (3 and 2) play with this simultaneously. It's great. The only negative thing I can say is I wish the phone and buttons for the oven/microwave were louder. That's it. Everything else is great.

I also recommend purchasing the pots/pan set and the extra food set.

Took a couple of hours to get it put together, nothing difficult just time consuming. My 2 year old daughter likes it but has not been head over heals (yet). I like how most of its made in USA, makes me feel better about buying it. It's a good size kitchen, not small but not so big that it takes up to much space. Looks durable and step2 has the best price hands down.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

She loved it! First she gasped, then screamed, then ran over and couldn't look at/touch/check out everything fast enough! She opened it Christmas Eve, on Christmas day, she was upset because all her wrapped gifts were blocking the kitchen so she couldn't play with it right away. She said, "Oh no, my kitchens trapped!" then tried to move the gifts to get to it. We had to tell her to find her Olivia doll wrapped in one of the packages to get her to open them, and after every few, she kept trying to go back to the kitchen! She loves the noises and all the cabinets and cooking options (microwave/oven/stove) as well as the fridge. The only thing she wanted it to do that it didn't, was to have running water, but she fixed that by taking a pot and getting water from the water cooler to "wash" her dishes! Thank you! It is the perfect size for her, but I wish the cabinets were a little deeper because we bought her so many accessories that I needed to get a small 3 drawer tower (those plastic ones) that is about 2/3 as tall as the kitchen to store it all. I love Step2!

Santa/Grandma put this together in just about an hour. I did not have any problems putting it all together and everything fit perfect. On Christmas morning, She had a wonderful surprise!! Her very own kitchen. At two years old, she loves everything about it especially the phone..she has called everybody she knows! She has had to show off her new kitchen to everybody who dropped by to see what Santa delivered. She wants to cook for everybody.(yum) What a pleasure to see her happily enjoying her new kitchen! I am sure that she will play with her kitchen for hours/years. A great investment for children to play and learn.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

I bought this for my 2 1/2 yr old son,[...] There is a spot of damage where the electronic burner goes that looks like the plastic hung up on whatever drilled the holes, and the burner won't lay flat, but we barely notice it, and I know my son won't care. Even though Christmas isn't quite here, I already know my son loves it from how many times we've caught him playing with it in the present closet! As it isn't in full play yet, we haven't added batteries yet, so I don't know if all they electronics work properly, but I'm confident everything will be fine. There was a bit more assembly than I had anticipated-much more than the "minimal" the box states, but nothing I couldn't get done in 25 minutes with a screwdriver, drill, and only a 3x5 foot space to work in. The only thing close to a complaint-and a warning to people with other small children in the house-the back is speckled with small round plugs filling holes, that are the perfect size to fit in my 1 yr. old's mouth, so I hope to find something else to seal the holes with

My daughter loves this kitchen. It's much nicer than the older one she has been playing with. She loves all the sounds this one makes and there's places for everything. The only thing that is extremely annoying is that the oven door doesn't stay closed. No matter how much we close it and push it in, about 2 minutes (or less) later, it falls open..I wish there was some way to keep it closed. I would not recomend it if every one had the same oven issue. If it's just mine then I would recomend it.

I love this product! We have it next to our kitchen so my daughter can pretend to cook and clean as I do the same. In the beginning we had trouble with the battery operated parts (screws were easily stripped) but Step 2 and their awesome customer service sent us replacement parts in less than a week! They are awesome!
Only other problem is: not the best with little kids (under suggested age). My 10 month old son keeps stepping on the oven door and the plastic isn't so durable that it doesn't stretch under weight. I realize this is a parental fault but how do you keep the little ones off?? LOL. Just want other parents to be aware of this.
Overall this is an awesome product and my daughter loves it!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

Our 21 month old daughter loves playing with her kitchen. She is a little short for her age and has a little trouble reaching what's deep in the top cabinets and she isn't quite able to reach the light switch which frustrates her but she'll grow.
What we like: realistic, descent cabinet space, sounds on the stove, cooking and eating utensils and the overall idea of it
What we would like to change:
the sounds of the microwave aren't realistic, come on couldn't you have recorded a microwave or something, we wish the faucet would make noise because our daughter is into helping w/ dishes and the whole sink atmosphere so everytime she goes to turn it on and nothing happens she wants to go to the real sink, the back part requires 6 holes and there were only 2 drilled so my husband was very disappointed with that, the hamburger slides off which frustrates our daughter and us, the phone is hard for her to put back on, the top pull out drawers come out easily and quickly which has caught her off guard
You might be thinking why did you give it a 4 with all of these complaints, that's because the complaints are minor I just want you to know what's might be coming. All in all it's a great and fun product that I"m sure your children will love. From reading reviews I told my husband it was going to be a long process putting it together so just expect it so that made it easier going in knowing, he is a BIG complainer about putting things together and he really didn't say anything about it other than the holes not being drilled. I did A LOT of research and so far I'm not disappointed.

I ordered this product online and expected a little more but my daughter played for a solid hour when she first got it. My daughter loves to open and close all the doors and drawers and push all the buttons. She plays with it everyday and her favorite features are the light and the stove sounds. It could use more food products but we just put that on her wish list for relatives for chistmas ideas. Holds the attention of our 29 month old who has very little interest in toys.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

My two year old son loves to cook, so we decided to purchase this kitchen for his birthday. He absolutely loves it. He wants to cook for us all the time -- great imaginative play.

We purchased additional food and accessories to keep him a bit more involved. The only challenges we have with the product -- the cabinet doors do not stay closed, the drawers pull out and fall to the floor, and the electronic telephone sound was really low (cannot hear sounds / no volume control). The kitchen was not difficult to assemble; however, it was a little time consuming.

We looked at many kitchens before buying this kitchen and each had a few things here and there we did not like. This kitchen by far had more to offer than others we considered. Overall, my son loves this kitchen and that is all that matters to us. This is a good kitchen for boys and girls. Excellent for imaginative play!

Service & Delivery comments:

Electronic telephone -- create a volume control or make the sound louder -- too hard to hear.
Cabinet doors need to close -- add a small clasp to keep closed.
Drawers fall out -- drawers should pull out but not all the way.

My daughter LOVES this kitchen! She got it for her birthday two months ago, and she still plays with it everyday. Assembly was a little complicated, but not horrible. Takes a lot of batteries, but it's worth it - great light and sound effects! Very realistic yet compact.

Service & Delivery comments:

The final assembly steps (attaching the top cabinets to the base cabinets and adding the backsplash) were fairly complicated. Definitely takes 2 people to complete.

Works well at keeping kids busy when her friends are over too!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

This is a great kitchen for a toddler. My 2 1/2 year old daughter loves it. I love the fact that it has multiple storage areas for their little pots/pans and dishes to be stored. Also, there is a flatware drawer. I was surprised to see that. Improvements would include having the sink make noise and by including an additional burner that makes the sizzling sound too. But these are the adult observations, my daughter could care less. My husband thought assembly was easy but warns everyone that some holes may need to be drilled.

Grandsons love imaginative play and making pretend meals for Grandma is a favorite when they come to visit. They also love the realistic buttons on the microwave and oven, but especially the sounds on the stovetop for boiling water and sizzling. The phone is a nice addition but they are too used to real phones to pretend much with it. Oh, and there's a fair amount of storage too.

We got this for our daughter for her 2nd birthday. She loves playing with all the dishes and acting like she can wash her hands. This product is great. Easy enough to assemble and has all your major appliances with sounds. One negative is that the drawers come out completely - so my daughter pulls the drawer to take something out and it falls out. It would be nice if there were stoppers. Other than that - this is great fun. It is in my kitchen and my daughter loves to play there. Also, it looks nice - not like a little kiddy toy, but like an upscale nice kitchen.

After much research, purchased this kitchen for my daughter's second birthday. Wasn't sure if she'd like or not and was afraid to buy something so big to just have it sit there. We didn't need to worry about that though - she loves it! When her dad brought it out from the garage assembled, she turned around, saw it and screamed with delight and ran towards the kitchen and started playing immediately. She hasn't stopped since. Every morning when she wakes up she goes straight to her kitchen. It's a great size (not too big) but has everything that you would need. Bought an extra set of food, and a couple of other little sets to go with it. Also looks nice in her room. Great purchase!

We bought the lifestyle dream kitchen for our daughter's 2nd birthday. price wise, it is very reasonable and value for money. assemble took a little while but we managed well with relatively good instructions given. the kitchen is very realistic and captures the imagination of my child. she was so excited when she first saw it and we would spent at least an hour each day on it. it provides me with quality time with my child and makes a great toy during playdates. all the kids who came to our place love it.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

My 2-year old daughter loves her kitchen! She plays with it everyday. We love how modern it is in that there is a phone in the kitchen, how the appliances make sounds, and the refridgerator is set up to look like water is dispensed in the door. She has learned to "pretend" to eat and cook, and she makes noises on her own (ex. shhhhhhh...is the water coming out of the faucet.) She also shares the food she makes with others which is a great quality at this age. We love it!

Bought this for 15 month old daughter and she loves it! She is a little short still so can't quite reach the microwave, but doesn't seem to bother her. She pretends to cook and loves all of the beeping noises. The stove top is fun when you put the pots on and it sizzles or boils. Great product for price. Only negative is the oven door doesn't seem to want to stay shut. Otherwise great product, highly recommend it.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

Since I was recently unemployed I was worried my 22 month old would be bored; I felt I was competing with the daycare activities she was used to. I've always wanted a kitchenette as a child so I thought this would be a good investment. I received it in a timely manner and in good condition.

My daughter is happy with it. I would have given it a higher grade if the ice maker made lifelike noises too.

As she matures she will appreciate this kitchenette even more. Most interest in toys last about a few months, I believe the dream kitchenette will keep her interest for a few years.

I was worried that my 22 month old daughter would be bored since I had to take her out of daycare because of my unemployment. I always wanted a kitchenette as a child so I thought this would be a good toy to play by herself or have playdates...plus as she grows and matchures she will enjoy it even more.

I would have given it a higher grade if the icemaker made noise too!

I compared this to the little tykes kitchenette and this was the best deal.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

We got this for my 2yr old's birthday. Probably should have purchased sooner because she loves it. Her brother is 6. He plays with it too, when she is playing with it. It's just the right size for both of them to play and not step on each other. We have it in the living room. Unless they are playing with it you don't even notice it. Part of the reason is the neutral colors. [...]. When our kitchen arrived the counter top was scratched and faded (like it was used?)and our stickers were bent. BUT I called and Step 2 sent out new items that day. So other than having to put it together for the party and then take apart and reassemble when the new countertop came, it turned out fine. The new countertop is perfect. As for assembly. The drill is not a "required" tool. But I can't imagine putting this together with out one. The smaller pieces already have holes and I did those with a screwdriver. But once you get to attaching the counter and overhead piece you will need the drill. The instructions are pretty straight foward. With lots of interuptions it took me about 2 hours. If I could have been alone in the house maybe it would have only taken an hour or so. Very easy and definitly worth it.An additional set of dishes and food will be in the future but not a must for the kids to enjoy the kitchen. It's called imagination!

My 2 year old boy LOVES this. Only bad thing is the oven door doesn't stay shut. We used a swiss army knife to make an indent to keep it shut. The back panel screw holes didn't line up either but that we resolved by checking before hand.

Has lots of things to open and close and things can't fall into little corners that you can't get out of. My 5 year old enjoys it too.

We bought this for our 15 month old son because he is obsessed with opening and closing cabinets. He absolutely loves it. He sits in front of it and just opens and closes everything on it over and over again. He loves the sounds made by pushing all the buttons. (And there are lots of different sounds, not just a few like on most toys.) It's also a great way to teach kids to stand, because he pulls himself up to reach the higher cabinets and features. Now he's learning to put things in and take things out. It's just a wonderful toy and well worth the money if you want something to really stimulate and occupy your child for more than 5 minutes.

This kitchen is absolutely adorable. This was a birthday gift for my daughter. Her face lit up when she saw it. She was so excited. It is just perfect for her. It is very durable and easy to clean. It has even more realistic working things on it than what's in the description. There are so many other reviews about how difficult the assembly was and how the instructions were hard to follow. The instructions were very easy to follow and I actually enjoyed putting it together, maybe it's just me. There could have been a little more food that comes with it, but I plan on purchasing more for it. It's a perfect size even for my daughter whose 4 now. I am now considering purchasing the table and chairs that match to make her kitchen complete. I am very impressed. This is a Great Buy!! Highly Recommended!!

My grandsons love this kitchen ! They are 2 1/2 & 1 yr. and both play with it. Grandpa put it together in 2 hours. As always, the instructions could have been better. Use the picture on the box as well as diagrams. My older grandson loves the microwave sounds and the stove top flashing lights. The little one likes moving the drawers and opening doors. The size is good, not too big and not too small for the space available. We had purchased a Step2 sandbox last year and based our decision on the good quality of it. It would have been nice to include a few more play foods and not have to purchase a separate set for additional cost. Good quality, good product, good fun for kids.

My daughter just turned 2, my son will be 5 next week. They both love the kitchen. My 2 yr old loves to PUT things, and there are lots of places to PUT in this kitchen. Someone else's review advised using a power drill to assemble, and that was really GREAT advice. My husband did the drill work while i did the stickers and put batteries in the various compartments. Working together, we had it together in 35 minutes. At first i thought all those batteries in separate compartments was a little over the top. However, with each appliance having its own 2-3 battery compartment, you'll actually replace the batteries LESS. The light above the sink is a real favorite.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

I absolutely love this kitchen for my 20 month old son. I set it up in his bedroom and he plays with it many times throughout the day. He mimics what he sees us doing in our kitchen. He loves the buttons on the microwave, oven and phone, and the 2 noises that stovetop makes depending on the pot that is placed upon it. He also likes to turn the light on and off. He loves opening the refrigerator and pretending to get water from the water dispenser on the refrigerator door. I purchased MELISSA & DOUG play food items to go with this as the food items that came with the kitchen are made in china and are made of flimsy plastic. I researched a lot of kitchens before buying this one and am thrilled with my purchase. It took me about an hour and a half to put it together with an electric screwdriver. The instructions were very clear. There were pictures of the screws so that it was easy to tell which ones went in which places. It is very sturdy. Don't forget to buy batteries when you purchase this as batteries are not included. Also, to install the batteries, you need the very small "+" screwdriver. GREAT KITCHEN!

We bought this for our younger son for his birthday. I have researched kitchens quite a bit, and this seemed to have the best customer ratings. I would agree, we have had it for a few weeks and love it. It was VERY easy to assemble. I read horror stories about assembly times on the LT products. This is our first Step 2 product and we are so far impressed. Yes, a few of the drawers and such are not the best quality - but for the price and what's included it's as good as everything else out there (or better!). My boys LOVE the pot that boils, and all the noises it makes. That's what sold it for me and I'm glad we bought it for that reason. Step 2 had the best pricing [...]

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

I researched alot of kitchens before deciding to purchase this one. I chose this one because I felt it had alot of features and was a good size for the price. My 2 yr old and my 9 mos old both love this kitchen. It is the perfect height for them both. My 9 mos old loves to cruise from one end to the other and explore what is in the drawers. My 2 yr old loves to pretend to cook. She gets a kick out of all the fun noises and buttons to push. She also loves to pretend to wash her hands which reinforces good hygene, a plus for any parent!! I do wish the sink made some noises. Contrary to what a lot of other reviews said, My husband and I found the assembly to be quite easy. The directions were very clear. It took about 1 1/2 hours from start to finish, but there was no stress in the process. The only negative is that the oven door is a little hard to close so I do have to help them snap it into place. Other than that, I am very pleased with this product.

I found this Kitchen in a xmas Catalog, and I wanted it for my daughter's 2nd bday...but they had sold out of them and then came across the step 2 website....lovd it from the min. I saw it, it was the perfect price and the perfect size for our family rm. my father in law bought this for our daughter's bday and she love's it, and play's with ot everyday!! I think the amount of accesory's that it came with was OK, there could have been alittle bit more food, but we ordered more play food anyway, so it's really not a big deal, the quality is great and is also very sturdy
Thank you step 2

My husband and I bought this for our 3 year old grandson. It was not hard to put together.
The design is very attractive. As soon as we got it assembled, our grandson started "working the buttons" to the microwave and oven. He loves the sizzling and bubbling sounds of the stove. We "ate" pizza and corn all evening! Great for pretend play, group play and learning to organize.
Be sure to give your child a dish rag for "washing the dishes". So glad to find a product that is durable and will be used for years to come.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

I read a lot of reviews on this kitchen before I purchased it. I needed something a two year old boy and a four year old girl could play with. It really fills the bill! There are quite a few accessories, could be more, but the kids go to my kitchen and grab some 'extras'. lol! It's strong enough for the two year old to climb on and stand up, yet pretty enough for the four year old to be entertained. I put this together with a regular screwdriver. An electric would be nicer. I did it by myself, but it would be better to have another person. Didn't take long, but take the advice of one review and put the stickers on before you put it all together. That is much easier. I could rattle on and on about this kitchen. There are better ones on the market, but not at this price! [...]This little kitchen is a real bargain for the price.

I absolutely love this kitchen! I keep it in my kitchen so my daughter can pretend to cook or clean whenever I do. This is one toy that holds her attention for any amount of time, and she keeps going back to it throughout the day. There is great storage space for food, dishes, etc. It actually came with too many pots and pans-they only needed to include the ones that let you hear the sounds. It's very durable- my daughter (& son) can be very destructive and they haven't torn it apart-my daughter tried to climb on it! The price was just right as well. I wouldn't go for the pricier kitchens, because this one is just perfect in size, design and functionability. The only slight downfall is it took us 2 hrs to put the whole thing together start to finish, but it's worth it!

My son loves to spend time playing in his kitchen every day! We have it set up in our dining room so he can play in his kitchen when mom or dad is in the big kitchen. Having this play kitchen has really helped him stay out of our kitchen cupboards and drawers, since he is rather clever, he can get around some of the child proofing. I would definitely buy this again!

This is a great product. We had originally bought a Little Tykes kitchen because it was a little cheaper and we could buy it at the store instead of waiting for delivery. After partially assembling that kitchen we decided to return it because it the pieces didn't seem to fit together properly. The fridge and cabinet doors didn't easily open and close, which just won't due with small children. We ordered this kitchen and couldn't be happier. We were missing a the door to the oven. When we called Step 2, they sent one to us and we received it within a few days. This size kitchen has everything we hoped for. We are glad that we didn't get the larger one. Several children can play at once and it isn't too obtrusive in our living room.

This little kitchen has captured the whole family. My 22 month old daughter absolutely loves playing with the kitchen all day every day! The kitchen has so much to do that it easily keeps her entertained by herself for quite awhile. Love the design and it looks so nice in our house. The only thing I would change would be the boarder design... it's peaches... not my favorite! I would also like to have seen some more play food included. Included: a slice of pizza, a hamburger to make and a couple of fruits. Although there are lots of dishes and pots and pans! This is the best buy! I've done lots of research and am very happy with my purchase.

It was easy to set up as it came mostly assembled. Without looking at the directions we got it together in less than half an hour, stickers included. It does take 12 batteries, which we didn't have on hand.

Love that it comes with a lot of accessories. The boys love the light in their kitchen and love to use the sizzling pans and the realistic phone.

After reading reviews of OTHER kitchens from FP and misc. vendors, I was afraid that my boys would be too big for this kitchen. My VERY TALL two year old fits at it perfectly, and my gigantic five year old loves it and has a great time at the counter.

Wonderful product, great price. Have fun with yours, we're loving it!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

We bought this for our daughter's 2 year old birthday. She loves it! It took my husband under an hour to put together-although he loves his power drill-it seemed rather easy. My parents who live several hours away own the larger version, so I knew the quality would be great. My 2 year old is tall for her age but the height is perfect and even our 6 year old daughter enjoys playing with her. We wish the sink made noise, but other than that, all the noises make the playing pretend really fun. Just be careful if its a surprise, because the box they ship the product in has a picture of the kitchen on the box!! Its worth the price-great quality-hours of entertainment-small enough to put away into a walk in closet.

We bought this for our 15 month old grandson for Christmas. He loves the buttons and sounds, and is slowly learning the workings of a kitchen. He runs right to the kitchen when he visits. Soon it will be at our daughter's home so that he can play more often.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

I recently purchased this product for my sunday school classroom. It was very important to find a product that was durable as well as fun and attractive for the kids. After reading several reviews, this product received almost 5 stars from everyone. Beware of other kitchens. I read several reviews of wood kitchens that fell apart as soon as the kids started playing with them. I thouroughly felt that it was worth a little extra money to purchase a product that I knew would last.

So far the kids are loving the kitchen. I love the real features like the boiling pot and sizzling skillet. I also assigned one girl to make sure that the light above the sink always gets turned off (to conserve batteries), and she is doing a great job. I also really appreciated the fact that I could order this product directly from Step 2. I was able to save over $73 dollars buying it from Step 2 rather than ordering it from another retailer.

I am expecting lots of fun in my sunday school classroom with this product

Contrary to few comments, we did not find it difficult to assemble....Our daughter loves it... a bit more/additional food items would have been helpful. Also racks in the oven and refrigerator would have made them a bit more realistic.

My 19mth daughter loves this kitchen! Watching her play and act like she is cooking is the best. Cleaning up the mess after she's playing with it isnt but its worth it after seeing how happy she gets. I thought it was alot of money but they all are and of course it went on sale after i ordered it. But watching her play and have a good time with it is priceless.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Dream Kitchen:

We bought the dream kitchen for my 1 yr old's first birthday. She loves opening and closing anything and everything...pots, pitchers, stove, oven, fridge, etc...however, my 3 yr old son also loves playing with it just as much. However, his is more the imaginary play--cooking dinner, frying the hamburger on the stove, using the phone. It is great for all ages.
