We love the kitchen it's for a 1 and 3 year old. I would have given 5 stars if the phone worked. The screw is stripped out so we can't get the battery cover off. I just contacted Step 2 and I'm hoping for a response. Other than that, I'm very impressed with the quality and size.

I'm really glad we purchased this item. My daughter loves it, we play all the time. She is always cooking. There were a few accessories, but nothing that cant be fixed. Although I did wish that there were actually buttons instead of stickers. Is there anyway that I can purshase actual buttons for the stove and microwave??

My 18-month-old loves playing kitchen and loves this kitchen. It is a good size and the prices was excellent for what we needed. I also called customer service and ordered the electronic keypad for the microwave and oven to give her a little more to do (she likes things that beep). She will get a lot of play of this!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen:

I bought this for my 1 yr old daughter. She seems to like it for the most part. I wish there was more storage in it though and it lacks accessories. Also, I am now very disappointed. When I chose this kitchen I was under the impression that it was a section to the Grand Walk In Kitchen and that I would be able to buy the additions for the kitchen, based on a Step 2 brochure I had received. Now knowing that this was not the case, I am very upset, especially considering the lack of space in the drawers, oven, etc.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen:

I bought this item for my granddaughter to play with at my house for when I kept her overnight she would have something to do. She loves to serve grandpa and nana. I wish this kitchen would of come with a coffee pot and cups. Although it came with 2 plates 2 bowls and 2 drinking cups, I wish it would of come with more.
The only thing I see they could improve on is, the amount of storage space. If they could put a cabinet where the window is for the dishes. The bowls do not like to stay in the slanted rack and they often fall out.

This kitchen is good, but disappointed to see that instead of electronic key pad for microwave and oven, now they have a sticker. The older version which one of our friends have the electronic key pad for microwave and oven. My daughter keeps looking why in her kitchen microwave and oven doesnt make any sounds. I thought for newer version, this should have more features, insteadof removing already existing features.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen:

I found this kitchen on line and the grandparents bought it for my son's second birthday. I just put it together last night, so this is a pretty early review. (that's why I'm only giving 4 stars for now - may be 5 after he plays with it for a while). It was not difficult to put together at all - and all I used was a screwdriver - no drill needed. The places that didn't have holes per-drilled, you just screw into the plastic. My son came downstairs and went straight to his new kitchen (which he hadn't seen before) and started to play with it right away. I think it will be great for his imagination and (hopefully) a great toy for years to come. I also like that it is not too big, so it fits nicely in our small playspace[...]

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen:

We bought this for our 2yr old daughter for her birthday because she "cooks" while I cook. She LOVES this kitchen. It's a great size for smaller ones too - at 2 she's only 30" tall and she can reach everything. She plays with it all the time. She cooks and feeds us and her dolls. The burner makes sounds based on whether you put a pot (boiling water) or skillet (sizzeling) on it. She calls her friends too. What we didn't like about it is that we needed a drill to drill holes in some places. You can see where the screw is supposed to go in but you have to work pretty hard if you don't drill a hole. It took us about an hour to put it together which isn't bad but I expected it to be a little easier. The little door on the left is warped but not enough of a problem to return it/exchange it.

Step2 Response: Thank you for taking the time to review this product. We would be happy to send you a replacement door. Please contact our consumer service department at 800-347-8372.

We bought this b/c we wanted a kitchen for our girls' playhouse. We picked this one b/c it was not too wide - but it has been really perfect!! My girls (twins that are 2 and their older sister who is 4) all love it. They spend hours making 'pies' and 'pasta'. The sounds that the kitchen make are great and for such a small space, it really has everything. My girls love it so much that they want me to bring it back into our house at night. So much fun - we LOVE it!

This kitchen is not too atractive for young kids since there is not interactive buttons or music that kids love... My baby is 16 months old and she find hard to play with this new kitchen because it looks more than other furniture in the house, not so atractive for her, but maybe better for preescholers of older kids

My daughter loves to pretend to cook and this kitchen set definitely serves it's purpose. We live in a small apartment so I was trying to find a nice play kitchen that wouldn't take up so much space and this is the perfect one. I saw the item and it looked great in picture. So i decided to buy my daughter one for her first birthday. However, the package came in with a poor quality kitchen set. It can easily fall and damage by push in the cheap plastic. I guess it is not bad for [$]. If your seriously want to buy one for your child and not mind spend the extra money, than i suggest to keep looking for something else nicer.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen:

My son got this kitchen when he was 17 months old. We were looking for a less expensive kitchen that did not take up to much space and was not to girly. For the most part we love it. He has hours of fun cooking (we had to buy food) and serving it to the family. I think it was a great choice for our needs. A few improvements are needed but I am willing to over look for the price.

1) The assembly is a little tough. The holes are not pre-drilled so you need a power drill. If you have one, no biggie.

2) The microwave is to small. The dish does not even fit in it without having to go in on an angle and the the food falls off.

3) The stove is really tall but does not have a shelf in it. It is a lot of useless space. Only one small item can be cooked at once.

4) The spout on the sink is a little wobbly. No big deal but thought I would mention i,

5) The fridge is sometime hard to open for my now 19 month old. It stick sometime and I have seen him almost pull the whole unit down on him when trying to open it (note: only once and I stress "almost").

6) There is really no "work space" on the kitchen.

7) The pots are a little small for larger food items. I did not buy Step 2 food so that could fix this problem.

That all said, I ranked the kitchen high because compared to other kitchens in the price range it is far better. I have a lot of friends who have the big version and it solves all of these issues but it is also more than twice the price. It is worth the buy and your kids will love it!

Santa Claus brought this for my daugther and I can't keep her out of the kitchen. Money well spent. Before I can take her coat off, she is in the kitchen playing. I have to make her stop playing so she can go to bed and I have to distract her in the morning before she heads to the kitchen. She and I love this piece. I was intimidated at first to put it together because I only had a screw driver. It was very easy but not all the holes for the screws are pre-fabricated. Something to check before you start. I had a tool that allowed me to make holes but I did mess up with one screw while assembling the piece but you can't tell and the section (counter top) is still secure. This piece is very nice and fits the area perfectly. The perfect piece for my toddler who thinks she is a chef. She wants to cook for everyone. A must have for all children. Even the older kids who visit enjoys the kitchen. I can't keep them away.

Based on the reviews I got this for our 19 month old girl and she just loves it and plays with it a lot. It was the highlight of her Christmas day and continues to be the highlight of her day. For the money this was a great purchase and I'm very happy with it! I'm sure it's going to be a center for entertainment and enjoyment for both her and her brother for years to come!

Best Uses:

Describe Yourself:
First Time Parent
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen:

Product seems durable and my daughter loves it however, the doors don't stay closed on their own and the drawers come all the way out of the unit and my daughter isn't capable of putting it back in. The phone hangs on the unit in a very tight clip which is difficult for a small child to remove and replace. The assembly instructions were poor because they didn't refer to the parts as they were listed in the contents page.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen:

I purchased this kitchen recently for my family daycare to replace a very old Step 2 kitchen that I had. I have infants and toddlers up to age 3 and thought they would love this kitchen. Today is the third day of use. I don't think the oven door will last, since the 2 yr. olds tend to kneel on it once they open it. The 10 mo. old opens the cupboard and refrigerator doors and pushes on them so hard that I'm afraid they won't last long either. The railing in front of the dish rack is flimsy and a few good tugs will probably break it. The kids do love the sounds the burner and phone makes. I had a lot of play food and accessories already, so that makes it more fun for the kids. This kitchen is not nearly as sturdy as the old one I had, but it is more interesting to the kids. I found the storage to be adequate.

We bought this kitchen for my 22 month old daughter for Christmas and she instantly loved it! She loves pressing the buttons for the microwave and oven and pretending to dispense water and ice from the refrigerator door. Her 16 month old cousin came over to play and she instantly loved it too. The bubbling and sizzling sounds for the pot and pan are very cute as well. My husband and I were also impressed with the high quality of the materials and detailed assembly instructions.

We love the product. I did a lot of searching before buying this kitchen set. It fits my son well, and has just the right amount of "stuff" to keep him interested. You will run out of counter space though. We placed another side table beside the set to help him out. He is 3. And it is not girly. The most important part!

This is a great kitchen if you need something compact. Not really as sturdy as I'd hoped. The faucet doesn't really fit well, could easily get pulled out. Not bad for the money when you've shopped other kitchens. Overall, my children love it, so that's what really counts!

This was a Christmas present for my 2 year old daughter. My husband put it together so I'm not sure how easy or difficult assemly is. He didn't complain though. We purchased this for our 19 mth old daughter for Christmas and she loves it. We wanted something that both her and my 5 year old step daughter could play with now as well as something we could pass down to our next child. Both girls have maintained great interest in it and it is definitely durable!!! My husband assembled it and did not have any problems. (He did use an electric drill) We did a lot of shopping around and while I wanted a little larger kitchen, we did not want one that took up too much space. This one turned out to be a great choice and includes all the necessities!!

The sounds are so realistic and the appliances are great.

My boys ages 2 & 4 received this for Christmas. I know that most toy kitchens are geared towards girls, but my boys also love to help in the kitchen and I thought this would be great...Well, I was right! It provided hours of entertainment, they both love the sounds it makes, and the phone, and they've been, "cooking" up a storm ever since it arrived. Even my 10 year old daughter, (Who had her own play kitchen as a toddler) got into it and played grocery store and house with her little brothers.

I would suggest a larger model if you have multiple children playing, as it is one of the smaller ones, but it fits nicely in our play room and has enough features to keep my kids busy and entertained.

This is a great kitchen - not too small at all. We bought this for my son last Christmas when he was 18 months old and it was a big hit. He is now 2 1/2 and still uses the kitchen almost everyday. He is tall for his age and the kitchen is not small for him at all. There is definitely enough room for 2 kids to play comfortably together. I was debating abouting buying a more expensive model, but really it was unnecessary - this one has everything a child needs. My sister just bought the same one this year for her son - I definitely recommend this kitchen.

I love this kitchen I just bought it yesterday and I set it up today and I do agree that there should be predrilled holes because I put the screws in with a handheld philips and it was kind of hard to screw through the plastic. I just fixed that by using a thin nail and making a hole with a hammer and that made it easier. Although 2 screws and the plates, cups, etc were missing I am still satisfied of how beautiful and perfectly sized it is. I will still give it to my daughter on christmas even though one of the knobs isn't screwed in and the accessories are missing. Hopefully I'll get a replacement parts soon. I know my daughter will enjoy it for years to come. Thank you

We bought this kitchen for our daughter last year for Christmas - who was two at the time and is now three. It is still one of her favorite toys. We weren't sure about it at first since it is one of the smaller versions of the Step 2 kitchen, but we didn't want something huge. We've been delighted with the purchase. It is perfect for our little girl. We bought a small food set to go with it - not one of the 100 piece sets and it worked perfectly. Not too much to pick up.

My seventeen month old loves this kitchen. I like that it does not have a lot of bells and whistles - it helps to promote his imaginative play. He enjoys the sounds the stove makes and opening and closing the many drawers and cabinets. I felt that it was easy to put together, though there were a few holes that needed to be drilled. It's stable and attractive. I do wish that the stove and sink area were larger, but I feel that it was worth the money.

I bought this for my grandchildren to play with when they visit. I was disappointed when I found the small drawer missing and a pot. I also couldn't get the burner to work. It had a faint sound, but even changing the brand of batteries didn't do the trick. I thought it was really cute and looks like a real kitchen, but was a little dismayed with the storage space. The kids have a lot of play food & dishes! A rack in the oven would have been nice too.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen:

We bought this kitchen for my son as a birthday gift. He just turned 3 and LOVES to help in the kitchen. He is fascinated by the toy and wants to play with it every day. He tells me every day "I like this present" and can't wait to get home from daycare to make dinner in his kitchen. His younger sister (who is 11 months)also likes to play with it.

Assembly was time-consuming - I took us about 1 hour to put it together - but the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I wish the kitchen came with more accessories - like food or more plates- but it is a good start.

I think we will have this toy around for a long time. I also like it that it is not huge and it fits nicely in the play area we have for our kids.

I would definitively recommend to buy this toy if you are looking for a toy-kitchen.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen:

My son who is 20 months old loves the kitchen. At this age he cannot turn the stove knobs but he is able to play with everything else. The only thing I would change is to have the "plate rack" a little bigger because it feels a little forced when trying to fit the plates in it. I think it is a nice kitchen for the price although it might be worth the extra money to buy the bigger model if more than one child will be playing with it regularly.

I bought this for my 17 month old who enjoys it and the accessories that come with it. I wish the fridge did something more, maybe a light or something. My 8 year old plays with my youngest with this and enjoys it as well. For the money I paid I just wish there were more lights and sounds. Its easy to put together and sturdy as well. Just be aware that the oven door opens and touches the ground and my daughter has tried to use it as a stepping stool. This can cause a tip hazzard. But overall I would expect this item to last many years of fun imaginative playtime. Very attractive and even matches the Step2 Lifestyle table and chairs we bought. Very nice.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen:

My daughter (15 months) loves this kitchen. I like that you can pick green or red to go with your home decor. She plays with the phone and stove a lot. I wish there were more sounds, but I didn't want to get the larger one. Only two things I wish were different. The refrigerator door doesn't stay shut very well and the oven door stays closed too well, it takes some elbow grease to get it open. That could just be the case with mine. I assembled it during her nap (in 1 hour). Definitly use an electric screw driver. I bought more accessories to go with it because it has the capacity to hold more. It stands up well on tile and carpet and is very sturdy. I will be keeping this for a long time. I feel comfotable with the plastic curved edges opposed to wood ones with sharp edges and it's light enough to move from room to room. This kitchen is worth it, I would recommend this to a friend.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen:

My only complaint was that not all the holes were pre-drilled. My husband had no difficulty using the screwdriver to screw them into the plastic but I wasn't able to assemble the toy by myself. Other than that, it went together very easily. My youngest, and only girl, is the one who plays with it the most but even my 5 year old boy has played with it a few times. I know as Jenna, who is just 15 months old, gets older she will only enjoy it more and more. We LOVE that this toy is made in the USA. It was one of the major factors in choosing it over others. [...] All in all, we're happy with this purchase and look forward to many happy years with it.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen:

I put this together on my own in about half an hour. Super easy. Began w/out a drill and then ran out to garage to get one b/c it is impossible to screw into the plastic w/out. My 2 yr old loves it. Cons, instead of the cutesy fake window, the space would be better utilised with a mini cabinet to store dishes, food, etc. Also wish the sink was a bit deeper, maybe by an inch. Do not like that in order to screw in burner need tiny tool and the holes are recessed so you can't tell if its actually screwing in or not. I left our undone to be able to replace batteries easier. The burner lights and noises were going off as if possesed (w/out the pot to prompt it), so step 2 is sending out free replacement.

I got this for my two year old Grandson, I'm big on trying to get U.S.A. made anything so this was a big plus. The only problem we had was a missing drawer front(glad we put together early) but with prompt service we had the part plus an extra basket delivered in time for X-Mas. It was a big hit at our house I hated to see it go over to their house so I am looking into other Step2 products for my home and his too. (I would like the fact that the accesorries are from another country known before hand)but still a real good deal! Keep up the good work.

I put this kitchen together by myself but found that you really needed a drill to secure the screws and that in many places there were no holes for the screws. My daughter loves the sounds and the size is great. Fits in her room comfortably and the height was good (my daughter is tall for her age). She wished it has a blender or other parts that made sounds but she does play with it everyday.

I wish it had a couple more drawers or another cabinet but overall it's great. I also love that it's made in the USA.

Santa delivered this Kitchen to my son on Christmas morning. He LOVES it!!! His Papa is always cooking and he always enjoys helping him so he is thrilled to now have a kitchen of his own. My son is 3 1/2 and has been playing with this everyday for at least some part of the day. He enjoys the sounds and all the features. He likes "Cooking" meals for everyone in the family. I love the fact that it fosters creativity and imaginative play. My husband said it was fairly easy to put together, taking maybe an hour to complete. Size of the kitchen is great, not too big but 2 children can play side by side comfortably. Would be perfect if it came with at least a couple of things to cook. Not a problem though, Santa also supplied him with some basic kitchen food. My one year old even tries to play too but only when big brother lets him.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen:

This kitchen set really is great - and the price is even better compared to what other kitchen sets cost. This set seems to be very durable and has (so far) survived the rough playing from my 1 yr old. We both love how the burner makes realistic noises. She LOVES the cell phone -it looks realistic and beeps when you press the buttons. And she loves opening and closing all the doors and pressing the buttons on the oven and microwave. Overall this was a really great purchase.[...] Also, the assembly was awkward b/c not all the holes are pre-drilled. I still was able to assemble it fairly easily and quickly (without a drill). I assembled it Christmas Eve, and it took about 45 minutes. Even with the assembly quirks - I would still recommend this product to a friend!

Santa brought this to our 18 month old daughter. She had seen another brand of play kitchen in a store but we didn't like the quality. This one is much better quality. She was so excited on Christmas morning and every day since. She plays with it constantly. The only drawback was that the first two or three nights after Christmas she would get up in the middle of the night to play in her kitchen! She is so happy every morning when she makes breakfast while her dad cooks our breakfast! She wants to wear her apron and makes him wear his too! I was afraid this model might be too small but it is just right. It is ok for her now and will grow with her. There is plenty to do. The sounds and lights when cooking are really great too. Thank you Step2!

My kids really enjoy playing with this kitchen. It's just right for my almost 5yr old & going on three year old to use and share. I'd suggest a different layout or larger kitchen for group play, but this one fit beautifully in our playroom. Assembly took longer than we thought (or maybe we were tired) and it seemed like an endless amount of screws, but the end result was a sturdy, attractive creative play item I expect we'll get a lot of use out of...

The assembly instructions were clear, but with one minor problem: some of the pre-drilled holes weren't actually pre-drilled, which slowed down the process.

My 18-month-old just got this for Christmas and it's definitely one of his favorite presents! It is just his size right now because he has no siblings, but he will need a bigger one in another year or two. I love that the burner actually makes realistic sounds! My main drawback was that most products we get from step2 never come with predrilled holes, so it takes a bit longer to setup than it should. You will also have to buy play food and more accessories. Overall though, a great first kitchen for the price!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen:

We got this kitchen for our 3 and 1 yr old for christmas 2007 after realizing how much our oldest son liked to "help" in the kitchen (and the younger one likes to play with plastic kitchen utensils (spatulas spoons etc). We have only had the kitchen up a few days but it is already a hit with the kids. They enjoy cooking for us and all the family that was here over the holidays. This age is really into imaginative play, so it is lots of fun! (the sizzling and boiling sounds are fun!)

We also like that Step 2 is for the most part made in the USA (the utensils and phone were not) and that it was not made of flimsy particle board and did not have any metal hinges. We looked at many kitchens and my husband roughed the store displays up (just as our sons would) before deciding on this brand. I also like that this kitchen is gender neutral ~ (not overly feminine,) like some I saw on the market, and it is not too big for our small living space.

One thing that is negative from an assembly point but that is a positive from a durability point, is the lack of predrilled screw holes~ be sure to have a drill on hand ~ lack of holes ensure a perfect line up of holes and a snugness of screws being used, but it would have been hard for me to put it together alone~ together (with a drill ) assembly took about 45 min.

Lastly, it was cool that it came with 2 plates, bowls, sporks, knives, cups and shaker set, but it would have been nice to have a small food set included, but for the price i can't complain too much.

I think it will provide a lot of entertainment for the next few years as it is durable and fun.

This kitchen was a christmas present for my 2 year old daughter. For Santa, it was a bit time consuming to assemble - easy assembly with good instructions, just a lot of parts to put together. It is very cute and not an eyesore in our living room. My daughter loves the phone (and it's sound effects) and I get a kick out of the cooking sounds that the pot and pan trigger when set on the burner.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen:

ok, so i checked out many many reviews on kitchens before deciding to purchase this kitchen for my son who will be 3 soon. one review i read stated they were missing a part(s). we purchased our kitchen early to be sure we had it in plenty of time for Christmas. I'm glad we did. My husband started putting the kitchen together (easy assembly) and it was missing a part sure enough. We contacted Step2, they sent the part out. It arrived in 6 days like they stated. No problems. So then my hubby continued putting it together only to find the "burner" does not work. So, we can live with it not making "real cooking sounds" for now. we were on hold for over an hour with customer service only to call in again from another line because they stated to keep holding on...we are busy etc. when we called from our cell phone, we got a message they were closed! WHAT!! we have been on hold because you stated to stay on hold that calls will be answered in order they are received. DON'T BELIEVE IT.
We are pleased with the kitchen so far despite the difficulties. My son has not played with it because it is a Christmas gift. It's very cute, and lots of things for him to do. He will love it. I JUST WANT EVERYONE TO OPEN IT UP AND PUT IT TOGETHER EARLY TO VERIFY ALL PARTS ARE THERE, AND WORKING PROPERLY. you would not want your little one disappointed Christmas morning with a broken kitchen.
We still would recommend the kitchen, just be pro active.

Step2 Response: We are so sorry about the missing part and also for the difficulty you experienced reaching our customer service department. We strive to do better than that, and we are glad to hear that you received the replacement part promptly. In addition to reaching our customer service department by phone, you can also contact us anytime by submitting a request through the Contact Us page on our web site. Thank you again for your purchase, and we hope your son continues to enjoy his new Custom Kitchen.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen:

I put this together by myself with just a screwdriver. I knew when I bought this that some of the holes were not predrilled and I have seen some purchaser comments that stated that Step 2 does not drill all of the holes so that people do not get the product home and then some of the holes do not line up properly. So, it was just me and my screwdriver. It took about 2 hours to put together from start to finish (including putting stickers on). It was difficult to muscle some of those screws through 2 and 3 layers of plastic, but I didn't really mind. My hand was sore the next day, though. I knew beforehand that I would have to put the stickers on because I had read other reviews before purchasing. I didn't mind, though. I would rather put them on myself than receive a product with damaged or crooked stickers. The stickers were of a good material that could be pulled back up and stuck back on if you didn't get it right the first time and air bubbles were easy to push out. I like that this playset is more compact than other sets out there and the price of this one is just right. Other sets that are cheaper are not as good of quality as these Step 2 products and I could not afford to get one of the bigger Step 2 kitchens. I know my 4-year-old son will love this kitchen for Christmas and I'm sure it will get lots of use. I did order a play food set from Step 2 as well to go with his kitchen and the Step 2 accessory package with extra plates, cups, bowls, and utensils (even though I didn't need an extra set of salt and pepper shakers). This is a great kitchen for those who want a kitchen that is decently priced compared to others and that is small enough to intrude on kitchen or living room space. Those who purchase any Step 2 kitchen playset should be ready to assemble it yourself and use a power drill (being careful not to poke through the plastic) to assemble the body of the kitchen. I really like the little stove that makes noises and I'm sure my son will too. I'll probably get caught playing with it sometimes too.

I purchased this kitchen as a christmas gift for my son who is 2. I built it ahead of time so when he opens it, its ready to play. I was ready to spare 3 hours to asemble it,It actually took about an hour and a half I did'nt have help (Im a female btw)and used 2 different sized philps screw drivers. It was'nt bad at all, some places had no holes so i had to basically create holes myself but they werent that bad or hard to do, only bad thing is the little burner made no noises, which was the main reason i got this one in the first place. I live in a studio apartment and this doesnt take much space. But in general very attractive, sturdy item. Im 100percent sure my son would lovee it..

I bought this for my 2 1/2 yr.old son for Christmas. After shopping around and seeing the other kitchens that are out there, I decided on this one. It was very realistic and gender neutral and it has a lot of stuff to play with but it's not too big so it won't take up too much space. We have other Step2 products and they are all very durable and long lasting so we were sure this one would be too. After having my son constantly in my cupboards and using all of my cooking utensils and using his blocks as food, I thought it was time he had his own. I know he'll love it and I almost can't wait until Christmas for him to open it.

I have not yet opened the box, but I know that my son will love it. He loves the old play kitchen at his grandma's house. I love the cute design to match my home and the size is perfect for one child and limited space. Some have complained about the price and lack of a ton of accessories, but I thought the price was great. And we don't need a ton of accessories, because we have bought food and dishes prior to purchasing the kitchen. I do plan to purchase a couple of accessory sets, because I'm tired of him getting into my Pampered Chef Measuring cups and other gadgets. I know my son and I know this will be his favorite toy when he opens it on Christmas morning!

We bought this kitchen for our 2-year old after a lot of research on the options out there. We felt this one was a good size and for the most part, it is. I wish I would have gotten the next bigger one however as it would have had more counter space and room for playing with friends. The design is pleasant and my husband put it together in about an hour. My only complaint is that the drawers do not have anything to prevent them from falling out so I spend each night picking up the drawers and their contents!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen:

My daughter got this kitchen for her 2nd birthday from her grandmother. She loves it and plays with it every day. Sometimes when we leave the house she kisses it goodbye! We chose this particular kitchen for several reasons: it received positive reviews, it has all of the major appliances (microwave, oven, fridge, drawers, veggie bin), and is still compact enough to fit in our small city row home living room. It was a bit of a pain to assemble, but I was more than willing to put in all of those screws to have such a sturdy toy. We have only had it for a couple of weeks, but I can imagine that this kitchen will last for years. Minor nuisances I have found with the kitchen are: the drawer on the right hand side comes all the way out, and my daughter does not have the skills to put it back in, so we have to do it for her repeatedly; the salt and pepper shakers are open on the bottom, so my daughter thinks they are cups; and there are not enough accessories included with the kitchen. We had to go out and buy pretend food, additional pots and pans, and pretend silverware for her to really be able to play with the kitchen. The coolest thing about the kitchen is the boiling and sizzling sounds that the pot and pan make on the burner. I thought that might be annoying, but even I like playing with that. All in all, a great kitchen. My daughter loves it, and we are very happy with it as well.

It wasnt a difficult assembly-- the directions are pretty clear-- the problem was that the holes that the screws were to be put into were not properly drilled holes when sent to us-- so we had to drill into the plastic ourselves. (The holes were suppose to be there, and you just insert the screw-- but there were no holes!). I also dont understand why we have to adhere the stickers to the set ourselves-- the assembled item would fit into a box to be shipped- so the fact that we have to put it together is a nusiance. Otherwise-- great product-- my daughter (2yrs) loves it and uses it when I am cooking dinner.

We bought this for my almost 16 months old daughter. She loves it and so does her brothers (5 & 3). She loves opening the doors and drawers. Her favorite part is the pan frying sound and the water boiling sound.

We love the kitchen, it is absolutely great! Our only complaint is that you need at least a powerdrill for assembly. Several holes for screws and cabinet doors were either missing or too small. Knowing that, assembly is easy and the product is fabulous.

I gave this kitchen and the food accessory kit as a birthday gift to my 1 yr. old niece. She got about 40 presents that day and her favorite was the kitchen. She preferred it over everything else. Because of its high quality and size, she will probably play with it until she is about 8 or 9 years old. I am thrilled with step2 and highly recommend this item.
