Bottom Line:

My 2 1/2 year old loves this kitchen. We purchased additional food and toy appliances to go with it so it makes it more fun for her. The clock doesn't stay on correct time which is annoying when you're trying to teach things to a small child. The cooking sound on the stove also goes off on it's own without any one playing with it. Overall, a great product and would buy the bigger one next time now that I know she'll play with it.

We purchased this for my son's 2nd birthday. He really enjoys it. We play with it almost every day, making different food (we also have the Step2 Food Kit). He also really likes the utensils that came with it.

My husband did not have any complaints about putting it together. Though he did complain that the sink doesn't make any noise when pushed -- that seemed to be highlighted in the description online.

Oh, and my son LOVES the box the kitchen came in.

There were a lot of pieces to put together which took a while and you had to of course put all the stickers on...Not too bad.[...] It is pretty sturdy and we have had it 4 months and our 2 & 5 year old play with it or the accessories everyday. It is a great toy to have and keeps them busy. I would recommend.

I like this product a lot. My two young children love to cook for us! Its attractive and comes with lots of accessories. It's only drawback is that many children cannot play at once. It is very jammed together. When I was a kid , all the appliances were bigger on play kitchens, that would also take up alot of space too I guess. Its fun!

My son was so excited to receive this kitchen. He is 2 and saw a picture before he got it and loved it. He was really excited when he got it and has enjoyed playing with it. The kitchen is easy to put together, but you need a drill to drill the screw holes b/c they are not already punched. No big deal though. The kitchen assembled together nicely and my wife and I did not run into any problems. I would definitely recommend this kitchen.

Best Uses:

Bottom Line:

I have owned (and used) this product for 5 months. This is a very nice-looking product, I must say that. The accessories that come with it, such as the utensils and pots and pans are very good quality. Some drawbacks to it though are in the overall construction of the toy. While I understand that NO toy is perfect, for the money that I paid for this thing - it's not good at all. The structure is flimsy - the contertops can be pushed in (dented in) with the touch of a finger tip, and the overhead light only works some of the time and is only held on with two screws and so it's very loose as well. Over all, I wouldn't reccommend this product because of its poor construction, especially if it is going to be receiving every day ware and tear from small children!

Had to fight my son off of it until I had finished assembly, he was so excited.
DEFINITELY use an electric screwdriver, it will cut your assembly time in half. I did not have one, so between keeping the 2 year old away, and screwing in the LOOOOONG screws it took a few hours.
Still not completely finished, need 4 more batteries, but LOVE the way it looks. Definitely a good value for the price.

I bought this product directly from Step 2. I would recommend that to anyone because htey are great if something goes wrong. I bought this for my 18 month old son and had it put together by myself before my husband came home, the directions were easy to follow. I chose this kitchen because I didn't know if our son would like to play with it so I didn't want it to take up too much room in our house. It is very cute but I wish that I had gotten the deluxe model it is not that much bigger and has more room to store the accessories. The pots and pans that came with it were cute but it would have been nice to have some play food other than the scices it came with. If you have a really small space I would recommend choosing this kitchen but otherwise consider investing in a bigger model because it is rather small.

Our daughter got this kitchen for her birthday, last June. By September the microwave quit working. Now the phone doesn't work anymore. I have read some of the reviews about the light and so far it has been fine. The clock is kind of a pain to change the time, but it works fine so far. A cordless drill helps in the process of getting it together. I started by hand and quickly changes to a drill.

We bought this as a gift from the Easter Bunny. My 2 year old daughter started ooohing and ahhhing as soon as she saw the picture on the box. She "helped" us put it together and kept saying "mommy make it pretty as I put the stickers on" She helped daddy run the drill (which was a first since it usually scares her when we drill) From the box to the put together item we were thrilled. Would have been nice if the holes would have been predrilled...but oh well. After putting batteries in the clock, and after putting batteries in the keypad for the microwave we found out that they didn't work and that we were missing 2 small screws to put the door knobs on. I called Step 2 this morning and they kindly sent out replacements for what we had problems with. The young lady that I talked to was wonderfully nice, and answered all my questions and got things shipped out. This is the first Step 2 product we have purchased, and I can guarantee after this experience we will purchase more in the future, we are very loyal to companies that are easy to deal with.

I bought this product for Christmas so I assembled it a day before Christmas Eve so it could be set up for Christmas. The assembling part can get difficult as I did it on my own. At first I was scared to use the electric screw driver because you won't be able to do it with a regular screw driver but I then got over it. What is great about this product is that my daughter loves to spend time playing with it. The thing that wasn't so great was the overhead light as I read in another review the light goes out quick and I also used good brand batteries at first turning the light on was difficult you'd have to press the button a couple of times and it was well screwed and then after not even a week the light went out and that was without leaving it on for hours just on and off. I haven't had the chance to switch the batteries out and see if that's it. Overall, this product is great and I would recommend it if you want a little break.

Bought this for Xmas for my son; when we opened the box on Xmas eve to put it together the clock was broken. Seeing as it was Xmas eve, we could not call the company. [...] Also, the overhead light is already not working-probably the batteries. DS RARELY uses the light so I can't see why the batteries would die so soon (they were good ones). I wouldn't have spent so much money on this. A tad overpriced, IMO.

Semi easy to put togeather, We like the kitchen but the phone won't stay in the holder on the side of the kitchen. Step two has lots of matching products such as the table and bar stool's that are really cute. My daughter is three and this toy is a good item for that age group don't think it will be good for children older than 4. It is kind of small. Love the Cook Top and pots.

This play kitchen was a gift for our 16 month-old daughter. I am impressed with the detailing of the kitchen set & all the accessories that are included. My daughter plays with the kitchen but not as much as I had expected. At this time she likes to put the pan on the burner to hear the sounds and likes moving the accessories around (putting them in the baskets, taking them out, putting them in the refrigerator, taking them out again, putting them in the oven, taking them out, and so on). I am hopeful that when she is a little older she will play with it more. I am very satisfied with the quality of the kitchen and anticipate that she will play with it for several years. I think it will be a great toy for imaginative and group play.

This was a christmas gift for my 5 year old daughter and 2 year old son. They were thrilled when they opened it. They have used it every day since Christmas. I think it is the only gift they use together and don't fight about it. I'm pleased with this product and I wish I would have purchased it sooner.

We bought this for our 18 month little girl. She is having so much fun playing with it. The assembly was a little difficult because the holes are not pre-drilled. I think that the border on the kitchen should be a little fun. Kind of boring.

My 18 month old son received this for Christmas and loves to cook. He likes the sounds that the phone, microwave and stove make. The only con is that he is not tall enough to put the phone on the receiver - which really bugs him. He also has trouble getting things in and out of the microwave, but he will grow into it.

Also, the second hand on the clock ticks, but it stays at the same time as when we first set the clock. I will be buying some food accessories and other things that he is more familiar with at this age.

This Kitchen is great! We bought it for our 2 yearold daughter for Christmas! She loves it! She has played with it everyday! My husband put this kitchen together in 45 mins. with a hand screw driver! It was very very easy. After putting it together we noticed that our microwave pad didn't work. I called the Step2 Company and told them about our problem. They sent us a new microwave pad very very fast! We will be buying one of these kitchens for Grandma's house to!
