After putting it mostly together, I decided to add pins to the top as well - a $5 purchase at [...] (had to cut a rod in 4 pieces) - and that added to the stability considerably. We have 3 kids - a 3 year old and twin 2 year olds. They love it.

We purchased this for our daughters 3rd birthday and it was a big hit! The larger size was appealing to me because we also have a 6 year old boy. They both can fit inside easily along with the neighbor kids. Assembly was easy for my husband. I think it took him an hour or so. We hope to get many years out of this as we are expecting our 3rd any day now!! I have been very satisfied with my other step2 purchases.

"This plastic isn't worth the investment
By Mad MommyVerified Purchaser from Kent Ohio on 8/16/2008

Cons:
Difficult Assembly, No words on directions, Pieces poor quality, Poor molding of pieces
Best Uses:
Individual Play, Small Children
Describe Yourself:
Education Oriented, Parent Of Two Or More Children, Working Parent
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

My husband and I were very disappointed with this product. The overall quality is poor. The stickers came on the product and were wrinkled and crooked. There are uneven grooves and edges from where the plastic was made in the molds. On the directions, it displayed the sunroof as having premade holes for the screws and ours did not have any. I do not know how this product passed inspection.

By fix it ladyVerified Purchaser from Vail, CO on 8/12/2008
Pros:
Attractive Design
Cons:
Difficult Assembly, Flimsy
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This product was a nightmare to assemble, the directions are only pictures. There are no pins included or described for the top to hold it square--only the bottom--so we had to "McGyver" the thing together with sticks from the yard to be able to put the roof on. Alot of money for that kind of frustration!I just hope it stands up to the weather now!

This was a great purchase. Great size for the children to grow into. My daughter loves this house. The first words out of her mouth in the morning are "My house". It has plenty of room for my husband and two children to fit inside. We have also put two chairs in the house and have added a few 3M hooks for her to hang items on the walls. She loves the phone that come with it. It's comical to see her have conversations while sitting at the built in table. My son loves ringing the doorbell. On the downside, there isn't much holding the house together. So, my husband put in additional carpentry screws to make the house more sturdy. Even with the additional screws, still took us only an hour to put together. I would definitely recommend purchasing through Step 2. [...]saved A LOT of money and [...].

Difficult Assembly

The playhouse is attractive and my grandchildren have enjoyed playing in the playhouse. The house was very easy to put together with only one exception. The predrilled screw holes in the roof edges should be lower for two reasons; 1- some of the holes did not allow the screws to go into the top of the sides, and 2- with the holes being so close to the roof, it was hard to turn the screwdriver without your finders hitting the roof. .

Best price for the size of the house. The only thing we had difficulty with was putting the roof on. It doesn't fit as easily as it should but with some elbow grease you can definitely work it. Also, the stickers inside the house came wrinkled but you just have to smooth them out. We also think they should have included 8 rods for reinforcement instead of 4. That would have made the assembly easier. Other than those minor mishaps, our daughter loves it and plays in it forever! Gotta love that.

My father purchased this house for my 16 1/2 month old daughter after seeing it at one our relatives homes. We chose this model because it is larger than most and can fit multiple children. My daughter loves the playhouse and screamed with exictement when she first saw it. My oder nieces and nephew (12, 9, 4) were over the first day and they were all able to fit into the house together. Since we assembled the house my daughter has played in it every day. We got a small set of dishes so she can have a tea party in the house. The only drawback was the assembly of the roof. My husband had to be creative with getting the roof to attach.

I have the sandbox, sliding board, waterwheel, angle fish teeter totter, adventure lodge swing set and the pinic table with umberlla as well as other items. I have not had a problem with putting things together nor have I ever experienced any bad instructions(thank GOD) like I have read. I would like to say thank you to the step 2 productions for the smiles that you have put on my daughters face as well as millions of other children's faces. I enjoy that I can also play with her in many of the items. It holds up well for older children as well. To clean these items I just spray them down with the hose (very easy). Again THANK YOU STEP 2. It is worth EVERY DIME.

I love the design of this house it is the perfect size and the colors are very attractive. I wish there was a way to keep the windows either open or shut to avoid little fingers from becoming caught, and my husband used some extra screws to make the house more sturdy. The assembly wasnt so bad although the last thing they want you to put on is the welcome mat which requires you to tip the whole house on it's side (not what you want your last step to be). In addition for the price of this house it should come with a chair or two for the inside table. Other than that my daughter just had a birthday party with 32 children they all climbed all over the house (not at the same time of course) and it held up and was easy to hose down to clean. I am very pleased with the purchase.

We bought it for our twin 15 month olds. The size of the house is great although I did think it was going to be a bit bigger. It was the biggest sized playhouse I could find and adults can definitely fit into it. The assembly was very easy. I did it myself (a 33 year old mom) although my husband did provide minimal assistance when I had to lift the house for one step in the assembly. I do not like how the roof and the sides of the house stay connected to each other. I feel there should be more screws involved especially since the roof pieces do not line up exactly. The doorbell and phone are neat, but I think the faucet should make some noise too and maybe they could have added a mailbox that makes sounds too. In addition, I think they could have added some accessories to it for the price we paid for it--maybe a chair, a mailbox with mail and some kitchen accessories. I do love it and would recommend it. I just think it should have been a bit less expensive or had extra features to make the price more worth it. It does seem that it will last for a long time so I guess that makes the price more worth it. And the kids love it so, of course, that is very important too!

This one is plenty tall and will be apart of our family for many years. Also this playhouse is easy to assemble and will be easy to move with us to future duty stations.

We bought this playhouse for our 2yr old Granddaughter. That was 10yrs ago. She is now a little over 12yrs old. She played in it up till about 2yrs ago. My great nieces and nephews, neighbor kids, kids I have baby sat have all played in the little house. I have a second set of grandkids, an almost 3yr old, a 1yr old and a 10 month old. I know they will all enjoy the little house as well. The little house is very durable it has went through over 10yrs of Kansas weather and it still looks great. I WOULD DEFINETLY RECOMMEND THIS LITTLE HOUSE.

this is a great playhouse. the kids love it, it is plenty big enough. they love the windows, doorbell, etc. we put those foam squares under for a floor and to reduce the bug population in there. it was a pain to put together, the holes dont quite match up. well worth it though to get one of this size, which i think is really the most important consideration. be sure to put it in the shade or you will have a cute little sauna. it was perfect for a shady are where only weeds are growing anyway.

My two year old daughter loves this house. So do I. I can stand in it and even put a back yard chair inside to sit with her and play. I think I like it more than her. Very easy to assemble. One part was missing, but customer service was great. They sent one right away, no questions asked. We will be playing with this for years.

Our children and the neighborhood kids all have a great time playing in this playhouse. One reason we bought it was due to the higher height inside compared to other playhouses, and we like the no maintenance plastic. Children enjoy the pretend play inside.

This is a great product and well worth the monetary investment. My two girls, 1 & 3, can both play in the house and still have room. Although, the house did not have a floor, we placed it on top of a ground barrier cloth and spread mulch around the perimeter. This keeps the weeds out and helps for cleaning. I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it!
