Our 15-month old, an only child, LOVES this playhouse! She's around 25lbs and a little over 2 feet tall. The dimensions of the play space inside and out are perfect for her right now, with some room to grow. The porch bench is great for snacks and playing her conga. The skylight is ingenious. Assembly took less than an hour on Christmas Eve. The instruction booklet was easy to follow for tired eyes. We feel that this product was well thought out and we love the simplicity of the parts and assembling them together. As others have mentioned as a tip, it'll be easier to recruit help during the roof installation phase of assembly.

My daughter loves this house, she is a busy body in it, swinging the door and shutters, ringing the doorbell and answering her phone. My son is 5 and while he can fit in it with her, he barely does. The worst thing is that we keep it outside, and I guess rain gets into the inside of the pieces, and then mold grows in there, and you can see the shadows of the gunk inside the pieces when the sun shines on the house, and it is kinda creepy and gross. But are you supposed to take it all apart and somehow try to wash the insides out? I can't imagine that is regular upkeep. If anyone has ideas on how to clean out the insides of the pieces or keep them from getting all gunky to begin with, please share. It's a good house though, lots of fun, just hard to keep clean.

We are first time grandparents and we bought this playhouse for our 2 year old grandson and 7 month old granddaughter. It is so cute and love the color. I wish it were just a little bit bigger but other than that it is wonderful. Our grandson loves it and so does our neighbors grandchildren. It's a great product.

We bought this playhouse for our grandson who just turned two, however he has a 6 month old sister now and we know there will be more grandchildren in the future. We love this playhouse. It didn't take my husband and son in law 15 minutes to put it together. Our grandson (Landon) was in it immediately and loves opening the shutters and door. Like many comments it is quite small. I'm not sure how many years we'll get out of it... but the price of [$] was reasonable. My girls are 3 & 1 and I rarely see them both inside the house. In fact I'm quite disappointed by how little they play with it and I blame the size.

children love this house. Children enjoy the phone, and doorbell. Fits several young toddler to pre-school ages at one time very well. Kids love to open and shut the door & shuttters. Very Cute, fits in with landscaping. I did add rubber tiles under the house so there would be a floor instead of the ground. Great investment for the money!

Before I purchased the playhouse, I read the reviews. There were comments on how the roof was tricky to put on and needed two people to align. Since I knew in advance, I had my daughter help me put on the roof and it worked out just fine. I liked that Step 2 products are so light weight while being durable. [...]. My 16 month old granddaughter now has the Step 2 desk, Whisper Ride buggy and the playhouse. She loves each of them. I like that there are no sharp edges, no paint to chip and I can put them together by myself.

kitchen sink needs to be anchored better. First day up we had to put additional screws in ad some-one sat on it and it popped out of place. Everything else has held up fantastic.

Got this for my son's 2 b-day and he absolutly love's it. He told me it was "The Best Gift Ever". He'll b 4 in May, and he still love's it and so does my 1yr old and 5 yr old. Even though my 5yr old is a little tall for it.

Very easy assembly. Had a little harder time putting the roof together since I assembled it alone. Would suggest some masking tape to tape both sides of the roof together to keep it secure while you are applying the screws.
My 2 year old loves it !!!!

Very attractive playhouse. I purchased this for my 2 1/2 year old son who enjoys it. He loves the door bell and the play phone. Inside he has plenty of head room , but not when standing on the porch. I wish it was a little taller. His head almost touches the top. Don't know how many years he'll get out of it. Other than that, he loves sitting on the porch and eating his snacks.

Purchased this house for my granddaughter for xmas. She was 3. She has to bend to go thru the door and I don't forsee her using this after this year. The age says 1 1/2. For [$] this house isn't going to be used more than a year.

The house is cute, but smaller then I thought it would be. I also did not realize it had a half door instead of a full. My daugter likes it though. Also, when we were putting it together two of the sides did match up, but we were able to get one screw in to hold it together instead of the two it required. Overall, the house is cute for small kids.

I bought this playhouse for my 2 yr old granddaughter's birthday, and to my surprise, her 9 yr old brother joined in. It is set up on the deck right outside the kitchen door and they both love it. There is enough room inside for two. She loves the bench on the front porch, and ringing the doorbell. She comes in and out the door and opens and closes the shutters all day long. Playhouse is great for smaller kids. The 3 and 4 year olds love, can't get them out of it. Older than 4 are too big as it is small and cramped, but allows children hours of entertainment. I am glad I purchased it.

Allot smaller than I thought, but it's cute. The shelves aren't very sturdy. My daughter is a year and seven months and when she leans on the stove/ shelf it bends like anymore weight it will snap off. The roof didn't match up so it was a little hard putting it together! I didn't think it was worth it! If I can exchange it I would get the princess house it's a little bigger! Ofcourse my daughter loves it and enjoys playing in it, I guess that is what counts!

My daughter is incredibly active and rambunctious and this playhouse has provided a wonderful outlet for her energies. She crawls in and out of the window. Takes her toys inside to play pretend, squeals with joy over the discovery of the doorbell, and sometimes just sits quietly on the porch bench. I encourage everyone to consider step2.com when looking for a playhouse for their children. We are extremely happy and, as if that wasn't enough, we only paid[$] (which is very reasonable for a PLASTIC playhouse - some look plastic but are inflatable or made of fabric).

Assembly not difficult but not easy either, had to crawl inside to screw roof on and hard to get some screws tight without the head going through the outer layer of plastic. The real test will be standing up to a Phoenix summer, but after seeing it I'm fairly sure it will be fine.

We bought this house for our 3 year an 1 year old. My 3 year old especially loves to play make believe and was always constructing a makeshift house out of sheets, chairs, etc. This house gave her a permanent structure to play house in. We have it inside our home in the playroom for the long hot days of summer when we cannot spend as much time outside during the heat of the day. I was skeptical about the front porch thinking that the kids might not utilize that space as much and would make the interior of the house seem too small. On the contrary, they love the front porch. My eldest plays inside while my youngest sits on the bench on the front porch. They love putting letters back and forth through the mailbox too. Another plus is that the front door and the shutters on the windows have extra space where they close so fingers will not get pinched. Both my kids have played for hours in it together as well as separately. We have been very pleased with our purchase.

The roof is nearly impossible to get to perfectly lay flat, there is always a gap.

Also- The instructions note that a power screw driver is best to use, but no where does it say toi be careful with the screws as they often drive to far into the plastic and get lodged in between the layers. When you call the customer service, they say that you should be careful using a power screw driver, not very in line with the instructions.

Another wonderful product from Step 2! Let me start off by saying that this house is WAY bigger than everyone says it is. My 17 month old daughter and 21 month old nephew fit just fine inside the house as well as outside the house. This playhouse is absolutely adorable and a must have for our back yard! This was the easiest playhouse to put together. My 3 year old daughter has hours of fun in it. She lover the phone, mail slot and door bell. I'm 6'2 and i squeeze in the house just fine. This is for little kids, not older kids. You will not beable to fit more than 2-3 kids in the house at one time.

This was a gift for my three and one year old girls. This house is cute but way to small for the both of them, they can't even stretch out in it or put anything in there due to lack of space. My oldest likes to climb on top and my baby likes to ring the doorbell. Also my oldest was upset when her play dishes didn't fit in the sink. Other than that this house is boring and I don't see this house will get much use. This house is perfect for one small child.Later on I will invest in the larger one.

This is a cute concept but there is no room on the inside of the house. My daughter is three and there is not much room for more than one child inside. I bought her a [$]play hut and put her kitchen and table inside and she plays with it and never goes inside the playhouse. I would not purchase again if I had of known what I know now. The price is not cheap, I would go ahead and invest a little more money and buy a bigger playhouse they can enjoy longer. She will only get about a year of play if that out of this playhouse. I would suggest this for a baby tht is just learning to stand alone. Roof did not line up well making assembly tough.Took both my husband and myself to assemble.

We have had this playhouse for a few months now.. our daughter is 18 months old. She really likes it.. and it's just her. I don't think she could ever play in it with other children and chairs and such probably couldn't fit in there.. but I don't want her to put stuff outside in it anyway. She LOVES the doorbell. She says "ding dong" and runs to her playhouse and pushes the button. It's a really nice looking playhouse that matches the naturally playful swingset and clubhouse we have. I wouldn't recommend this for parents with more than 1 small child that will want to play in it too.. this is better for 1 small child. Also.. you have to buy that flooring kit to go with it which is a bit flimsy.. I would have much rather bought the neat and tidy cottage playhouse, but we got this one as a gift.

This house was a Christmas gift from the grandparents and it is the most-used toy in our household. We have an indoor playroom and that is where the house is located.

Another review stated that it was small inside and that is correct. However, that has never stunted the creative play of our 2 children. My daughter (6-yr old) and her friends usually hang out on top of the house and my son (3-yr old) and his friends play for hours in and around it. I am 5' 11' and every so often I squeeze myself into the house to play "house" with my son. There isn't much room to move around, but it never stopped our children and their friends from playing with it. The children love the doorbell, the opening and closing of the windows and hanging out on the porch.

Last week a friend visited with her 9, 7 and 5-yr old children. All 3 played the entire time with the house.

I had originally purchased this house because I was lured by its attractive design. After putting it together (a difficult task as I could barely fit inside -and I'm only 5'4", 120 lbs)I was really disappointed and wished I had listened to the other reviewer who had said it was too small. My 18 month old loved it, but her 7 year old brother had no room to play with her inside, no room for a single small chair, nothing! I went to the hassle of taking it apart and returning it -we got the storybook playhouse instead and we are all so happy! A bit more expensive but oh so well worth it! I just couldn't keep a house my little girl would likely not fit in past the age of 2 and a half. Don't waste your money just because its cute on the outside!

there is no inside floor and the porch floor sticks out inside and children can trip over it coming out of the house. Plus the porch takes up alot of space that I think they would get more fun out of the extra room inside.

needed extra hands to hold and align pieces to put together, electric screwdriver a must, you have to be small enough to fit inside to put screws in properly... watching the children enjoy this was worth it!
