We bought this for our 15 month old daughter for Christmas, she LOVES it. We keep it in the doorway to her bedroom. Our 3 year old also enjoys this toy. Our daughters share a room and ring the little doorbell. They always go through the door. I think this is the cutest toy! We have a very small house and this is a great alternative to an actual play house that would take up too much space. I would reccomend to everyone!!!. The only draw back I found is that you cannot buy this toy in any store and you have to order online. [...]. Kind of pricey for such a toy. But overall we love it.

This was a Christmas present for my 18 month old grand daughter. She immediately started playing with it...loved the door bell and mail slot. Perfect size. It was very sturdy sitting by itself in our living room...worked great on her bedroom door which is where it pretty much stays.
Several other kids (a few years older) have joined her and all seemed to love it. I'm glad we purchased it now so that she will get years of enjoyment from it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with small kids.

This product has been great for my 5 year old and my two year old. They love it. I like the fact that it can be used stand alone as well as in the doorway. Sometimes they take it on the porch and use it as a pretend playhouse. It is NOT flimsy, and hasn't ever fallen over so, that is a great plus!

We purchased this product as an alternative to using a standard doorway gate to keep our two English Bulldogs out of our daughters playroom. It easily allows her access to her playroom while keeping our dogs out. She really enjoys entering and exiting through her own little doorway. She also enjoys playing house and delivering mail. I was a little concerned that it might be too large or not fit our doorway correctly but the size is perfect (not too bulky) and it fit the doorway exactly! The colors are nice and it is very sturdy. We solved the problem of it falling over and being unstable by velcroing it to the doorway.

Surprised my daughter for her 3rd bday. Perfect fit on her doorway. Her room is her club house now, she calls it. The 2 gates in front are great size that don't take up alot space in our small hallway, yet still holds up the house sturdy so won't tip over. Kids couldn't wait to use the doorbell. I wish there were door knobs on doors or handles on windows so easy to open and shut. I can probably add them on my own. Overall, this is a great product, well worth it. I would recommend it to others. Will last for long long time until my kids can't fit through the doorway anymore.

This is used in my home, where I run a small daycare with 4 children ages 3 and under. They love this toy! It allows them to use their imagination as they play "house", and even put "mail" in the mailbox. The only thing I do not like is that there is no door handle, and we have had some problems with them getting their hands caught in the door. Also, you have to use it in a doorway, otherwise, it is not steady enough to stand up to play! Other than that, it is a great toy!

My daughter was very excited to see this little playhouse arrive [...] She has a small bedroom and we don't have a lot of room for toys so this fit perfectly in her doorway and can be easily stored in a corner of her room. Just bought this toy from our [...], although i paid more than [$] for it i still think it was worth what i paid. my son gets tired of toys easily but he has been playing with this for hours. He loves it and although the doorbell is annoying at least I know he enjoys it. The only think i think would be great it if it had adjustable things to help it fit better in our doorway. It's just about 6 inches short on each side from our doorway and keeps moving out into the dining room floor. At least it was worth the [$]I paid for it. My 18-month-old son loves opening and closing doors and gates and pushing buttons, so he has fun playing with this doorway. The doorbell is realistic, just wish it were slightly louder. The mailbox is cute too. The peephole is nice too. Needs a window and wish there were more activities to play with, like a door-knocker, light, or buttons. It's light and not that stable (the footers should extend on both sides but only extend on one side but it's a good thing that the dutch door swings out when it opens to help stabilize it).

When my 2-year-old saw this Doorway Playhouse he was excited to see his new "barn" as he calls it. He loves it. I was uncertain about it at first, as when we measured to make sure it would fit we forgot to include the baseboard, and the playhouse will not fit in our doorways. However, it does great as a stand-alone, and we found a great place to put it. The doorbell is a favorite feature for my son, and I am delighted that it is not at all obnoxious in tone or volume.

This has so much potential! My daughter likes it but not as much as her Step2 kitchen and her clubhouse climber. We got it as a way to keep the dog out of her room while still allowing air to circulate (we don't have to keep the real door closed). The only con about it is that I wish the door opening was taller. She's not yet 3 and is small for her age yet she almost has to duck to go through.
It fits great in the doorway, good design, and stands up with no problems. Definitely not flimsy.

Our two year old daughter received this as a gift. It fits a variety of doorways, is easily moved around and provides great imaginative play. We received this as a gift - it only fits into one doorway in our apartment, so we are limited as to where my son can play with it. If you are going to buy this make sure you have the measurements for where you want to put this. So far its okay - my son likes the doorbell and to go in and out. We used a suspension rod & hung a curtain from the top of her door way to the top of the playhouse doorway so it feels a little more enclosed.

This is great, I have a 3 year old and a two year old. My 2 year old really loves this door. It great for keeping the dogs out of the play room too. The only con is that our doors are larger than your standard door frames so it sits just inside the door. We are still looking for ways to fix this problem. Other that the door size this is lots of fun for our girls. Oh one more thing it would be nice to have a way to open it up for adults to get through it too, instead of having to move the whole thing just to enter the play room.

Comes fully assembled. Just put batteries in the doorbell and apply the stickers. My daughter loves this so much she wants to take it everywhere she goes. She loves that her room is also her playhouse now. Both my daughter (2) and my son (4) have hours of fun with this. It also helps with the young sibling squabbles as they both like to "visit" each other and "deliver the mail". The pet hole is MUCH smaller than anticipated though as I thought our Chihuahua may fit through it. However, at best a Guinea Pig may fit through it if it really tried. That is truly the only downfall to the product though and it really isn't one. This is overall a great toy!

We love the doorway playhouse. It is a great way to turn any play space into a play house complete with doorbell and peek-a-boo windows without taking up too much space. It works great in a doorway, freestanding or with a fort built around it. My youngest loves it when I ring the doorbell and surprise him with a stuffed animal friend when he opens the door. It also makes a great puppet theater. Great toy, great price. My only suggestion would be to design alternative styles, like the door to a fort, or space ship or castle -these would be great too!

We leave this in the doorway to my daughter's room all day so she can use it. At night we just pull it out into the hallway, hardly takes up any room compared to traditional playhouses, and she loves it. Her brother and her play house across the hall and use it for their front door. She did tend to pinch her fingers trying to open the windows until she got the hang of pushing them instead of trying to pull them open. The doorbell is a great feature, and it's not too annoying like some we've had in the past.

This was a Christmas gift for my son and daughter. My husband thought that he would have to take some time and assemble it. But when we took it out it was pretty much put together! Great substitute for a playhouse for those of us without much room. My 2 year old loves to ring the doorbell and walk through the house door to her room. My 18-month-old grandaughter knew exactly what do to when she came downstairs on Christmas morning and found the doorway playhouse. After checking out all the features - "I can do this!" - she started moving all her favorite toys into the space behind the house.

We bought this for our 3yr. old daughter. Her play room doesn't have a door to it because we didn't want her shutting and opening a door afraid of little fingers getting caught. However, this summer we got her a Chocolate Lab who loves to go see what she has left laying out to chew on. This door has been a life saver and our daughter loves it! Great fun for our two year old. We put it near her bed to make an entrance to a new play area behind the bed. Only two negatives:the door to the mailbox was missing...still waiting of for a call back to replace; and the screws are very hard to start in the plastic.

We bought this as a Xmas present for our boys that are 4 & 2. They woke up Xmas morning and had to walk through the doorway playhouse to get out of their room. Needless to say it took atleast a half hour to get them downstairs!! They loved it!!! Especially the doorbell!! The only downfall is the door isn't tall enough for our 4 yr old. He has to duck to get through.

My daughter says my granddaughters love this doorway. The only drawback is for the parents. Don't plan on entering through the doorway often or easily. This doorway was definitely meant for children. I totally loved this product. My granddaughter is two years old and we played with this for hours the night it arrived. They live in my upstairs apt. and room is unfortunately an issue. This is amazing! The house takes up very little space at all and the minute it is placed at the doorway of a room, instantly transforms it into a magical "playhouse" My daughter in law now puts "mail" in the mailbox every day and my granddaughter entertains herself for hours in her new "home". Within minutes of setting it up, she had the upper door open, was leaning with crossed arms on the lower door asking "what you guys doing?" It does enough to keep a small child occupied but is simple enough to not overwhelm them and allows them to use their own creativity and imagination. I truly love this product! Great value!

Bought this for my 2 year old boy for Christmas. He's had a total blast playing house. We put it in his doorway, ring the bell, and he comes out and invites us in - too cute! We've moved it to other areas of the house to create fun spaces. It fits in any regular sized doorway perfectly and doesn't take up any space like a full playhouse. A little tipsy at times, but overall a great toy! Highly recommend.

The only con is that it is a little tippy - not too bad, but a little, so his treasures fall off the shelves if the door tips. However, it does not fall over.

I have wanted this doorway playhouse for over a year, and finally decided to get it for my daughters, ages 3 years, and 21 months.
I wish I would have bought it sooner!
My daughters LOVE this and play with it all the time!
It fits in their bedroom doorway perfectly, but we decided to use it in their closet so they could have a little "house in their closet. We just took their closet door off and put the playhouse there. Their closet doorway is a little bigger than the bedroom doorway, so the playhouse isn't snug up against the door frame, but it's not a problem at all, and the playhouse is free standing anyway, so it really doesnt need the doorway to be used.
My girls love to go in and out the door, and they love the doorbell! They haven't used the pet door or the mailbox yet, but they have just started to get into pretend play and I'm sure they will figure those out soon.
I love the tan color! It looks a lot nicer next to their step 2 custom kitchen that is also tan.
I wish it was just a little taller, as my 3 year old is at the top of the door now and she sometimes has to bend a little to go in.
It doesnt bother her at all though, and I even love to play with it with them and I can't even fit at all, so I dont think the size is necessarily a bad thing.
It would be cool if there was a phone added to the inside too. We have a step 2 phone with our kitchen, so we don't really need one on the playhouse, but some people who buy this might not have a kitchen with a phone like we do.
The set up was an absolute breeze too! Ready to play with in 5 minutes!

We got this for our two girls and set it up in the doorway to the room they use as a play room. They have great fun ringing the doorbell and answering the door, delivering and getting their play mail, and sending their stuffed animals through the doggy door. Set-up was fast and easy! This playhouse is very easy to use. Just set it in the doorway to your child's room. Our four-year-old daughter loves the "privacy" it provides, and we love the fact that it is lightweight enough to move out of the way whenever we need to go in her room. Also, the split door is wide enough to let her favorite friends in - our big Labrador retrievers. It's portable, so we plan on taking it to granny's house on our next visit. Great product!

I saw this in Parents magazine (or something like that) and thought it would be great for my daughter to play with when her cousins are over. She JUST turned 2 yrs. So far she doesn't play with others with it very much, but still plays with it a lot- with her imagination or the dog. It's really fun and fits perfectly in our doorways inside the house. We purchased this door for our two year old a few weeks ago. So far it is a tremendous hit with the kids! It seems to be very sturdy - our 5 year old climbs all over it without damaging it or tipping it over. There are lots of fun details like windows, a mailbox and a working door bell. It's important to note that the door bell is loud enough for the kids to hear, but is not so loud that it disrupts the whole house. The door is easily moveable so we can leave it in the kids doorway and simply slide it out of the way so we don't have to crawl through. Overall this is a wonderful product and stimulates the imagination.

This toy looks much more attractive and fun than it really is. My daughter is 21 months old and I thought she would like it more than she does. She only wants to play with it if I interact with her or if some of her friends come over and play with her. Otherwise, she will not imaginative play with it by herself. I do not think she has quit reached that development stage yet. She would prefer playing with it if someone else is playing with her also.

My son loves opening and shutting doors, so he loves the dutch door. I like how it easily fits into doorways and was easy to assemble. The shutters are kind of hard to close once you push them out and the mailbox is on the small side, but the mouse hole is really cute.

I was not very confident when I ordered this from my wife's list for my 2 YO daughter's birthday gift. It is easy to put together. It was a big surprise for both of my daughters (2 and 6). My 3 year old daughter loves her doorway... she spent an hour walking in and out of it when she first got it... the top of the door stands away from her door frame a little and i have a 8 month old son that pulls himself up on things and the door has a tendency to fall over on top of him.. It is an easy fix. we secured the top of the door with a couple bungies for now... All in all a good product tho.. Tons of fun for all ages!!

My daughter loves it, she plays with it all day. She will be 2 in March 26th. The only thing I wish I could attach it to the door. It is really sturdy, however she is a climber and tries to climb over the bottom part of the door. She had not knocked it over yet, but I watch her. She does love the door though it makes it her own. We use this product all the time in our house, and my daughter loves it. Very good for imaginative play, works well in a doorway with carpet. Not as well with wood, as it can slide a little bit if pulled on. It could use a little more support, does not work so well freestanding and will tip easily if not in a doorway.

I purchased this fun doorway playhouse for my daughter's 2nd birthday. I'd read numerous reviews for this item and I have to say that once I received the item, I can sing the songs of praises that every other parent did on their review. This playhouse is very durable (does not tip over easily) and my daughters, ages 2 and 3 have had hours and hours of fun with it...and it's not even a week old! The doors/windows are very easy to open and the doorbell is a huge hit...and it's very soft and does not get very annoying! The mail slot is a huge hit, as are the shelves on both sides of the door on the inside. My two year old walks thru the door no problem, while my three old has to duck a bit to pass thru, but she thinks it's pretty cool to have to duck...all part of imaginative play. My 18 month old loves this doorway playhouse. It's the only way you can enter his playroom :). The only issue i had was with wood floors it tends to slide. I fixed this immediately when i purchased a pack of rubber circles from the hardware store. [$] and it does not move. Awesome product!!!!

I have two boys - 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 yrs old. They both love it! My older son has to duck to get in but he doesn't mind a bit. In fact, I think for him it adds to the playhouse effect. It's their special spot at my parents' house.

Interestingly it does NOT fit in any of the doorways on their main floor. Perhaps it's designed for a bedroom width door frame? Who knows. But, we just put it across a corner in one room and use the space behind for the inside of the house and obviously the outside with doorbell and mailbox on the front.

They love it and play for 30 min or more at a time.

My 3 and 1 1/2 year old play together with this and have a good time. We found a space between a bed and a wall to put it in that gives them a little "playhouse" behind it, without having to clog up a doorway. It is easy to move around. They love the mail slot, the doorbell and the peephole. The door is not that high, so if they are much older than 3 this is too small. The dog door is impossibly small - we can't even fit a small stuffed dog through it - maybe a beanie baby type dog would fit. All in all a good toy that encourages imaginative play.

It is great as long as the child stays on one side, but it tips too easily the other way. If doorway is too wide, it tips in both directions. Wish it had a study base so as not to tip. Otherwise, it is very imaginative and lots of fun!

Our 11 month old grandson loves standing in the doorway and having us "peek" at him when he opens the door. The doorbell is soft enough to be heard and not loud enough to be annoying. I am thinking of buying one for the pre-school that I run.

I use this as a divider between daycare rooms to keep them broken up a bit and It works great! The kids absolutly love it! Only con is that it tends to tip over when the kids try to go through it fast, other than that it is wonderful!

Fits in the doorway very well, not tooooo heavy, durable, my 3 & a half year old LOVES the working doorbell, and the doorbell sound is nice not over bearing like some other noise toys 8 )

This is great if you are short on space but want a playhouse for your kids. It took only 5 minutes to put together. Super easy to clean. I have twin 20 month olds & they absolutely loved it from the day I put it together. I like that you can put it in any doorway of your house & it even works just as well free-standing. However, you have to have it on carpet otherwise it'll easily topple down. Other than that my twins think its great as do I.

The only thing that I do not like as much about it is that it could be a little bit taller for the older that want to play with it or if mom wants to join in the fun and play too. Otherwise I think that it is a wonderful toy for the children and they love it.

My children love the doorway playhouse, especially ringing the doorbell to get in. We have set up store items on the shelves and my kids pretend to shop. They also like getting mail through the mail slot. On the negative side, we had to place a bathroom rug underneath it to prevent it from slipping on the tile floor, and I have to move it out away from the door when I go into the playroom to put things away, which seems often. Taller children would have to bend down to get through. My 4 year old daughter is shorter than most 4 year olds and she just makes it through. However, I still think it's cute and encourages imaginative play.

Very easy to assemble and dissassemble[...]; can easily move against wall to get out of way; only 3 decals to apply; doorbell not too loud/annoying but very sensitive - my daughter is constantly bumping into it as she goes through the doorway and ringing it; doorway could be taller - my child is ~34"tall/19 months old and has to duck a little to get through; otherwise she loves this house - have been using it only freestanding too as didn't fit in any of our doorways well - but stable enough to do so, as long as she doesn't try to push on a door the wrong way - then it will knock over. As I am always with her, this is not a big problem. Would give it 4.9 stars really - not 5 b/c of doorway height and inability to adjust to most doorways and damage upon arrival - really all minor problems.

bought this for my 1 yr old for Christmas. It has turned her room into a little play house and she loves ringing the doorbell every time she enters her room. Her older siblings also like to use it as they play house. Very durable and well worth the money.

My 1 1/2 year old received this for Christmas and loved it. We had looked at much more costly playhouses and were thrilled to find this cheaper and smaller design. Her favorite part about the bigger playhouses was the dutch door, so this toy fit the bill. After getting a rain check at a national toy store and being given the run-around for weeks. [...] We will only shop directly with Step2 from now on. This product is pure genius!!

This is a great product, wonderful for indoor use! It doesn't take up a lot of space, and is easily moved. My 18 month old daughter loves it. She has a large walk in clost in her room and I put it in the doorway and the closet is her "house". The only negative thing about it is that I thousht it would fit more securely in the doorway.

I love this because with my young nephew 18mths will play peekaboo with his sister 8mths. The children I Nanny for 4 yrs. old and 21mths old love playing house with it.

My girls (21months) love playing with the doorway. They will take turns ringing the doorbell as the other one looks through the window to see who it is.

my cons: the doors don't have handles so when the girls are both closing the doors their fingers get pinched between them. Also the doorway doesn't stay in the door frame (we have carpet).

Overall, its a great toy and I would buy it again.

We purchased this for our children for Christmas. When our daughter saw it she was so excited! Her eyes lit up! It is placed at their bedroom door and they love to go through it every day. Our 2 ½ year old loves to ring the door bell and pretend that she has friends coming over to play. I cannot think of a better toy to inspire creative roll play. I am going to purchase one for my toddler Sunday School class, too. Thanks Step2 for a great product.

My 3 yr old daughter got this for Xmas and totally loves it. No one is allowed in her play room unless they ring the doorbell first. She plays all day with it and pretends that her playroom is her "house". It also works great and keeping the dogs out and is very easy to move so I can clean and put away toys. It is so worth the money and I would recommend it to everyone.

We just moved into a house with a small familyroom, but a good size stage closet tucked under the stairs. We took the door of the closet and used the doorway play house to turn it into the kids hide away. they love it! Kids girl boy 3 year old twins and 19 mo old girl.
