My parents bought this for my son 18 months ago when he was 18 months old. He used it almost every day outside and we also realized that it kept him happier than a stroller for trips out to stores. Now he is 3 and loves to push his 1 year old brother in it. When the car was about a year old the handle began to crack. I called Step 2 figuring I would need to pay for a replacement handle but they sent one within a week for no charge. Recently, the car body began to crack where the handle attached making the car very difficult to turn. I figured we would need to purchase a new car since we had owned it for well over a year but when I called Step 2 they said they would send a new one because they didn't feel it should have worn out on us. After such wonderful customer service I plan on sticking with this compnay for our toys in the future.

My son absolutely LOVES this car. I bought it for his 1st Birthday and he wants to ride in his "Car" everyday!
On days when I am unable to walk him in the neighborhood, his sister pushes him indoors and he loves it.
The horn is great, it has a nice melodic sound that doesn't drive you nuts (after the 100th time), like alot of his other toys!
The only cons are that I wish the front wheels would turn (that's why I didn'e give it 5 stars), and the assembly was a bit confusing at first.
Also, the Step 2 License Plate won't stay on but its no big deal. They just won't get the additional free advertisement on the toy if they don't use better adhesive tape.
I live in sunny CA, so I do recommend purchasing the canopy for shade from the sun.
Overall this car was a great value!

My grandson totally enjoys the whisper buggy. He is 14 months old and it's all about vroom vroom's. A neighbor had a different buggy and I could not get him out of it. I then decided to look on line and ordered two whisper buggys, one for my house and one for his. He especially likes the cup holder and horn. I enjoy the quiet ride with the bigger wheels. We are totally satisfied and Bryce loves it.

We purchased the red Push Around Buggy by Step 2 for my son's first birthday and he absolutely loved it. We decided to get the Whisper Ride Buggy a few months later, so we could have one for indoors and one for outdoors. We were a little dissapointed with the sturdiness of the handle on the Whisper Ride. It is fine if you are pushing it straight, but incredibly difficult to turn. The Push Around does much better on the turning and the handle is much more secure. That being said, after an entire summer of using the Whisper Ride Buggy the handle broke. My son was devastated! Silent but difficult to steer.

Pros:
Fun
Best Uses:
Outdoors, Small Children
Describe Yourself:
First Time Parent
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I switched from the red and blue Push Around Buggy to the Whisper Ride because the Buggy's wheels were so loud that my daughter and I could only use it for so long, since it bothered both of us. The Whisper Ride is indeed silent. I took my daughter out of it to put her in a swing and when I turned around, the Whisper Ride had rolled all the way down the sidewalk and I did not even hear it. The Buggy's tires would also get covered in leaves, trash, dirt, etc. This is not a problem with the Whisper Ride. But, the Buggy is much lighter, easier to get in and out of the house and steer. The Whisper Ride is clunky, the handle feels flimsy and it sometimes hurts my hand to push it, since the drive is not as smooth and easy as the Buggy. All in all, I choose silence over handling. But, not a day goes by where I do not wonder which is worse.

My son got the whisper ride buggy for his first birthday and he absolutely adores it. He goes to sit in it first thing in the morning after he wakes up, waiting for someone to take him for a ride. Having something that I could take him for a walk in and he enjoyed was great, however after only three short months the handle broke at the base. The car is completely useless now. The worst part isn't that the plastic handle was a total disappointment and didn't last long; he cries when he sits in it and can't go anywhere.

We bought the whisper buggy for our youngest son's 1-year b-day. He loved riding on push toys but it broke my back to have to lean over to push him and hold him securely on the toy. As I expcted, he LOVED this buggy; I mean LOVED it! If he sees it on the front porch, he fusses to go outside. If he's outside, he goes and climbs on to it and sits patiently to be taken for a ride. It was worth every penny.

In fact, we loved it so much that we bought a second one for my older son, who's 2. He, too, loves it. He particularly enjoys the lid on the hood. He loves to open and close it and store his toys in there.

We couldn't believe how quiet it actually is! When they say "whisper," they mean "whisper!" I love that about it b/c sometimes that's the only time my husband and I get to carry on an uninterrupted conversation. And we can still hear each other while we're strolling around the neighborhood.

There are 2 downsides to it in my opinion:
1. we had it for 5 minutes before both the boys had shut their fingers in the hood compartment, resulting in plenty of tears. I'm not sure how that could be fixed, tho. The lid is not heavy at all.
2. The front wheels do not turn at all. So if you want to turn the buggy left or right, you have to maneuver it so that either the rear or front wheels are off the ground so you can re-aim it. Seems so simple to me that the wheels could pivot; guess it's either cost-prohibitive or I know nothing about engineering!

Overall, the entire family enjoys the buggies and we get lots of compliments on them. Wish they had a larger canopy but for the money, they're excellent for their purpose.

This is a great buggy. It is longer than the standard buggy, so if you want small and compact, go for the non-whisper ride version. However, we love this one because it makes virtually no noise when we're on walks, and it doesn't disturb the peace and quiet for us. We like the other version, too, though. This one is a little harder to maneuever, but I would still buy this one. Great product! Not too hard to assemble, all parts were included (and used!)

I wish it came in red or other color besides blue, but I dressed it up with Princess stickers and it looks more "girlish" now. She has such fun taking walks inside and outside with her car. I bought the canopy too for sunny days to protect her from the sun. My best friends little boy went for a ride in it and loved it too...she had to run out and get one. DEFINETELY buy this product..it is quiet on the pavement and the babies LOVE it!

Best Uses:

The car was OK till the handle broke 2 months after buying it. The handle is made of plastic and it broke at the point that it enters the car itself. This is from putting pressure on the handle when trying to tilt the car so that one can turn the car. Thus you can imagine that you will be tilting the car up ALL THE TIME. They should have thought of this and made it better.

Step2 Response: Thank you for your recent feedback. We may be able to assist you with this handle so please contact or Consumer Service Department at 800-347-8372.

I ordered this product on the Internet as I didn't want my son to have the same red and yellow buggy that everyone else buys in the stores! (I like to be different.)

The quality is good, although it did come with scratches here and there but it's no biggie considering who and how it's going to be used.

It feels very stable and seems to provide a quite ride which I noticed people complain about with other similar products.

My son loves the horn and beeps at everyone as we go around the mall and the storage compartment is very useful.

My only criticism is that while it's great that a cup holder has been provided the only thing that I have found it holds to date is a standard water bottle and a disposible sippy cup.

Step 2 has great customer service and quickly resolved an initial problem we had. I would definitely recommend the product and the company.

We use this car daily and have pretty much replaced the stroller with it. I love everything about it except the handle. It's so flimsy! We have the older loud version of this car as well, and since we use it mostly on the road, the noise was just unbearable. I don't have to worry about my son's ears with this one, and I can carry on a coversation with the person next to me, however the handle is so flimsy I'm not sure it will last long. We've had it for four months and have already cracked one on the base. I saw some of the older reviews on here with customer service replies saying there was a newer rigid handle, so I called Step2. They sent out the replacement one, but it's exactly the same as the old cracked one. It has so much play in it that it's nearly impossible to turn. With the old one you could just push down slightly on the handle to lift the front tires and turn the buggy. With the new the handle has about two feet of up and down play, plus quite a bit side to side as well. Lifting either the front or back wheels is the only way to turn it, so I don't see another alternative in making the handles last longer. [...]

My son loves pushing the electronic horn and pretending to drive. My only complaint is, compared to the original push buggy that comes in red or pink, the handle on this one does not seem as sturdy. It wiggles from side to side and it is more difficult to make turns. Not sure if the difficulty in the turns is due to the flimsy handle or the new tires. We'll likely be exchanging this one for the original, because the og has better handling and we don't mind the additional tire noise.

We take it with us everywhere. Our only "complaint," was that the wheels were really loud. We recently purchased the whisper ride buggy and I can't say enough good things about it. It is very quiet, and just as easy to push and store as the original. The cup holder is a great accessory, and my now 2 yr old daughter, loves the electric horn! We bought the buggy as birthday present for our son's first year; he loves his buggy and always look for us to take him out to the park on it.The ride is soft, the cupholder is great (my son takes his cup with him) but the push-handle is not as strong as would expect. We have had the buggy for less than 6 months, used it almost every day, and the handle already has fisures on its base, on both sides, and seems close to break. We bought the buggy in the UK[@] and not sure if we can obtain here a replacement for the handle (hopefully yes).

We have the "sweetest" ride in the neighborhood! We loved the neighbor's Step 2 Buggy, but when we saw the Whisper Ride there was no question...it had to be ours! My son is 10 months old and this is perfect! Most important, we can seatbelt him in! Perfect! We love cruizin' the neighborhood...it is true...whisper ride...no noise!!!

The children love to ride on this. The steering wheel seemed difficult to get to stay on. My daughter finally pushed it hard enought to stay on.
The horn was a big hit. Also the trunk was fun for the children to put things in.
Overall we liked it very much.

When I received the buggy, the seatbelt was missing, and Step Two Co. very promptly sent me a replacement. My 1-yr.-old great-grandson loves the car! I find it very quiet, very easy to steer and maneuver, even though my grandson is 30 lbs.

My son LOVES this car. I have nothing negative to say about it. I know people have complained about the handle being too flimsy, but it is necessary that it has some give! If it was secured tighter, it would be too difficult to turn the car and steer. I love the cup holder, which we put little snacks in instead of a cup. He can just reach in and grab a bite! He loves the working horn too. Wonderful storage space in the "trunk".
This has been the most fun thing we have bought yet!

This would be great if the parent was able to control the front wheels to steer. It was difficult to steer depending on what surface you're on and how much your child weighs.

We live in downtown Chicago and this car's wheels have handled some pretty rough terrain with ease. It turns activities like a quick walk around the block or doing laundry into little adventures for my 18 month old. I would have liked for it to have a button with more car sounds, because he is crazy about engines revving, etc, but the horn is really cute. He just loves this toy.

I'm a stay at home mom of a 4 year old girl and 9 month old boy. I bought this for my little boy for Christmas, and he is big for his age. He can sit on it fine with the seat belt and loves going for rides. We've used this indoors and out (I'm in a warm climate). Shipping was fast, especially for the holidays. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

As everyone else has said this is a great buggy. We even take it in the car when we go to car shows and flee markets. We get so many great comments, and our son loves riding in it. We have 17 acres, and we take this when we go for a walk around the yard. It is so much easier to push on grass than the stroller.

Product is not 'easy' to assemble - my husband needed to do it. If you install the wheels on too tight (which is hard to gage), then the buggy will be dificult to push and even more difficult to maneuver/make turns. [...]Other than the aforementioned, the product is great and my son loves it. He especially loves the horn. My husband and I really love the way it looks - only con is it is still a little difficult to turn but not horribly bad to where I wouldn't purchase the product again. My son has also ridden in the red buggy and that one was easier to manuever; however the delux model better suited our needs because of the added weight capacity.

My son had so much fun learning how to honk the horn. We love the sippy cup holder and he loves to place things and remove them from the front storage. It is a very quiet push toy and it makes him feel like a big boy instead of being in the stroller. I ultimately wanted a toy made in the U.S.A. due to the recent 'lead content' toys made in other countries. This was the perfect/ safe gift for my son's 1st Birthday.

This is a wonderful toy and my 1 year old has been enjoying it since he was 10 months old. I took him for a walk around my town in his car and he stayed in it for an hour (I did put some padding on the seat though). He loves to be able to look around at everything, unlike his jogging stroller that he can't see out of as well! This is a great toy!
