Comments about Step2 Extreme Coaster:

We have 3 grandchildren, ages 4, 3, and 1. They love this toy as does every other child who has been to our house since we got it. The one year old was climbing up the ramp and into the car and riding down alone before he could even walk. We love that the coaster is light enough to move easily. We live on a hill and sometimes turn the coaster so that the children can go down the hill for a really long ride. At other times we turn it around on flat ground for a short ride. We've purchased lots of Step 2 products. We are never disappointed, but this is the best!

Comments about Step2 Extreme Coaster:

We bought this coaster as a birthday gift for our soon-to-be-2 son. Once the product arrived, we put it together right away (about 2 weeks before his birthday). He loves it. So does his big sister (almost 3). Our son is 36" & weighs 32 lbs. Our daughter is 34" & weighs 26 lbs. They both ride without helmet under close supervision. We have a huge backyard with grass. One at a time, they push their car up, climb aboard, & mom or dad gives the car a slight push to start the fun. Their little faces light up with excitement as they zoom down the coaster & across the yard. They then travel another 20 feet beyond the coaster. Then, they happily push their car back onto & up the tracks for another thrilling ride.
It would be even more fun if the coaster came with 2 cars. Also, it would be nice if the holes were pre-drilled.
All & all, fun product, albeight overpriced.

Purchased for our 3 year old son. Absolutely loved it the second we put in the 1st screw and bolt. A socket wrench and drill is needed for the quick assembly. Perfect for a big backyard with a lot of space since the coaster is quite large. So far we've had it one day. With the exception of taking a break from the heat, eating and napping he's been playing with it all day!

I purchased this for my 3 yr. old grandson who was diagnosed with hypotonia (low muscle tone) when he was about 13 months. He has been going to therapy since he was 14 months and has come along way...We are always trying to find toys that are beneficial in helping to increase his muscle tone. This really helps work all of his muscles by pushing the car up the steps in the center of the track. Excellent ride on toy!!!!

Comments about Step2 Extreme Coaster:

This item took about 45 mins to assemble. My son is 18 mos old and we were questionable as to whether or not he was too young to use the coaster. Our worries were fruitless, he loves it. Of course you need to highly supervise him with it due to the lack of a railing when stepping up to get to the car. The first thing we purchased was a helmet and he is very safe and loves his roller coaster.

Step2 Response: The Extreme Coaster is appropriate for ages 3 and up.

This was a gift for our 2 yr old granddaughter, but to be left at our house since they don't have the room for it at their house. Now when they're close to our house our granddaughter gets all excited saying, 'hat' (helmet), in anticipation of the coaster. The guys are now trying to figure out if it could go into the pool and would it skim or sink! Men!!! Thinking of shipping one to our other grandkids in Philly area. Pricey, but worth it!!

We bought this a year ago for our sons 4th birthday and this was a big hit then and it still is to this day! I'm not sure what I can get him this year that can compare. As you can see I'm on your website seeing what is new that my soon to be 5 year old would love! I have always bought Step2 products and will continue to because I know the quality of the products I'm getting is safe for my son. Thank you Step2 for helping me watch out for my child and giving me the type of products that any mom or dad can be proud of.

Comments about Step2 Extreme Coaster:

We bought this for our grandson's 3rd birthday present. I can't even put into words how very much he loves it. He and his 1 year old brother both have played on it almost non-stop since he received it. It is the hit for outside playtime plus the bonus of exercise. My husband put it together in about 1.5 hours. This was in mid 90 degree heat and he took several breaks. He said now that he has done it if he had to put another one together it would take about 20 minutes. We had all the parts included except one washer but we had one that would work. The only con is that if you move it watch that middle green ramp support. Make sure it stays vertical. It would have been better built if there were some kind of lateral bracing to hold the middle support more stable. Some have said it is to costly a purchase but for us… it was bought with pure 100% love and worth every bit of it. We highly recommend this extreme coaster!

I purchased the roller coaster for my son's third birthday - a month and a half early :-) Friend's of ours have the smaller version, and I thought we would use this more. My son absolutely loves it! He can get the car to the top by himself, and push off with no problems. He even sits at the top without the car and pretends to be a lifeguard! (we live near the beach) - This was totally worth the extra money to buy the bigger coaster - we'll use it for a while! ps - after seeing this one, our friends wish they had bought the extreme coaster, not the litle one! The only con is that you have to use a power screw driver and socket set which I had to wait for my husband to come home from work to use.

Step2 has out done themselves. This is a unique idea and at a great price. My 3 year old loves it so much I have had to pull him off it. He already owns anything a 3 year old needs or wants, so finding something for his 3rd birthday was a challenge. This was a big hit. (Even mom and dad tried it out.) :-) I do wish it would come apart easier to be moved, but even that fact doesn't change my happiness in the product.

I purchased the extreme roller coaster for my 5-1/2 year old grandson. He loves it, especially if we chalk his runs. I thought my 19 month old grandson would be afraid of it but he enjoys it as much as his older brother. This has provided hours of entertainment and fun. It is a great way to exhaust them. The giggles and laughs as they ride down the coaster and run back up the coaster is great. They love pushing the car up the ramp for another run!! It is the first thing they hit when they come to grandma's house!!!

When our own kids were young, they were constantly building ramps to ride bikes, wagons and other things down, and so did we as children, so we knew this toy would be a hit, and it is! The kids play with it for hours, and even the 2 year olds mastered pushing the car back up the ramp and climbing in after a few tries. What a fantastic toy! An excellent investment!

I bought the Extreme Coaster for my daughter for her 3rd birthday, and she LOVES it! It took my husband and me approximately 45 minutes to an hour to assemble the coaster. I wish I was a child again because I would definitely want to play on this! There were children at her birthday party ranging from ages 2 to 8, and they all had a great time.

the directions weren't very clear and I neglected to put washers on front and back, thus the track comes apart. The nut has recessed into the plastic part and I can't get it out. Don't know how to fix it but it seems sturdy enough.

We bought this for our 2 1/2 year old granddaughters and they love it! Took about 1 hour to set up and it was "good to go". They can both push the car up the track and get into it themselves. They have had hours of fun with it. The only downside is that we have it in the sun and after sitting all day, the car can get a little toasty. I try to remember to take the car off the track and put it in the shade on extremely sunny days. I would definitely recomment this coaster. [...]

Comments about Step2 Extreme Coaster:

I bought this coaster for my twin 3 year old grandkids, because I babysit them everyday and they love being outside. They have sooo much fun on it ! I am a 55 year old female and managed to put it together by myself, without any problems. Our back yard is sloped so I mowed the grass really low and sent them on their way. They get their monies worth going down the coaster and then zoom down through the sloped back yard. I love Step2 products ! They have the little playhouse that was given to us and I bought them the Retro Diner for Christmas. They are all well made, sturdy, safe and the kids play for hours. The only con may be that when the car sits in the grooves at the top of the coaster, it can break loose while the child is climbing into it, but that is probably because it is on the slope. They recommend you don't do that, so I just hold the car until they are safely sitting in it. No problem. I would recommend this fun coaster to anyone. Thank you Step2 ! Another fine product !

We had purchased the small roller coaster a few years back for our granddaughter - then age 3. This year she is 6 and her brother is 4, so we got the extreme roller coaster for him - they both love it as does their 19 month old sister. They still have the smaller one - the product is fantastic - stands up through all our Northeast weather - rain, snow, cold, heat! We buy lots of products from Step 2 and have found them all to be of excellent quality and our grandchildren and their cousins and friends just love them too.

I bought this for my 4-yr-old and almost 2-yr-old boys, and they both love it. The 2-yr-old needs a little help getting into the car, but it won't be much longer before he can do it on his own. We have a very large and sloped backyard. We have the coaster at the top, flat part of the yard and they fly down the coaster and then almost all the way down our yard. I built it by myself while my husband was at work. It took me about 3 hours. It probably wouldn't take that long with two people though or with a power screwdriver. It seems very sturdy and great quality.

We got this product for our 2 yr old son. Both him and his 6 yr old sister love it. It goes for about 20+ feet after it hits the grass, so make sure you have lots of room to roll. I got this for my daughter's third Birthday and she absolutely loves it. I love it for all the exercise she gets using it! I store it on a covered porch so that it doesn't kill the lawn...it moves very easily to and from the porch! The only thing wrong with mine which was a very minor thing...it was missing one of the step too emblems on the side! Other than that PERFECT!!

We love this product just have to somehow keep my son from climbing up on it without our supervision. I purchased this for my 2 year olds birthday though she is a little young for it with 5 older siblings and my childcare I felt this was a better buy than the smaller roller coaster, as she could grow into it. The kids all love it. It keeps them busy for over an hour and they prefer it more than the other climbing toys and almost as much as the sandbox :) Very sturdy and worth the money.

Comments about Step2 Extreme Coaster:

I bought this for my Grandson for his 4th birthday. I had been reading the reviews on this toy for over a year and finally decided to puchase it when Step2 offered [...]. My Grandson loves it!! I showed it to him on the computer before I bought it and he said " I need that" (LOL). We have to use it outdoors due to its size and could not assemble it for four weeks after purchasing it due to poor weather in Denver, CO. My son-in-law put it together in less then an hour. It has to stay outside due to its size. It is sturdier then I thought and he has a blast on it. It does not ride good on the grass so we have to put it in the drive way when he is playing with it. Good thing we have a large, long drive way. It can be used easily for children 18 months to at least 6 or 7 years old. If small kids are riding this toy they should wear a helmet. The only down fall is the price. I really think [$] is way over priced for this large piece of plastic. [$] is more realistic. [...] I would have rated this a five star toy had the price been more appropriate. If you buy this toy, you will need some space to store it when not in use. If you keep it on your grass it will kill it.

We put this coaster in our basement and the kids fight over it all the time b/c they enjoy it so much. It's great exercise for those rainy days when we can't get out. I have to constantly watch my kids when they play on this b/c I don't want anyone getting run over since they seem to swarm the coaster all at once. Big plus is that there are no batteries required. It's just a simple, thrill-seeking toy to enjoy.

I am a child care provider with a home day care. My children absolutely love this. It is a bit unstable and flimsy, but if you watch the children while in use it is not a problem. It is VERY easy to put together and therefore, comes apart easily. Wish it was in more neutral colors like the Naturally Playful Line. Well worth the money for keeping children entertained. Even safe for two year old's. Car stays on the track easily, but does go a lot further than the actual product end. Make sure you have a lot of safe space. They can easily keep flying an additional distance of the actual product. [...]

We have now purchased one Extreme Coaster for both sets of our grandchildren. We have 4 grands in one family and 1 grand in the other family.
Both Coasters are played with a lot.
It allows the children to learn about taking turns and about helping the younger children.
If this is set up on a hill the car will go several extra yards. We do make sure that there is nothing at the stopping point.
The steps make it super easy to push the car back up. The colors are bright and welcoming.
We see many years of fun in the kids future with this outdoor toy.
The very best thing we have ever bought our grands.

I bought this for my grandsons who just turned three in april. They love it! They cannot get enough of it. The children in the neighborhood also agree that this is one of the best toys on the block. I recommend Step2 to all my grandparent friends, as I feel this is the best product, the safest and most durable product that I can get for my money. I can't wait to get the latest catolog to see what's new. I purchased the choo-choo wagon for the triplets when they turned 1 and not only has it held up well over the last two years, but I get a lot of comments from complete strangers on how cute they look in this unusual but practical "wagon". Thank you Step2 for such dependable, well made products. Sincerely, A very satisfied customer.

Kids absolutely Love the coaster. We keep it in the basement playroom since our backyard has so much other plastic. We hit 91 degrees today and it was wonderful to go play where it's cool. It gives the kids a good workout, it is wonderful exercise going back and forth. We like others have a long area, but we still use pillows at the end as a cushion when the older one gets to fast. My 15 month old can even enjoy it, we just start her at a lower point. My older one, 5, can get a bit over excited so I do wish it came with a seatbelt for safety, not just the slots. We got one after market and that made it perfect.

I bought this for my 4 year old and she just loves it. It was realitively easy to assembly as long as you follow the directions and only took about an hour. My daughter and her friends played on it all afternoon. Make sure that it's placed in a safe area because the car travels a good 20 ft. beyond the end of the track. We have a little hill in our yard so we have actually gone about 40. The only downfall I see is that the steps tend to sink in a little when she's walking up them so I really don't know if the 75 lb. weight limit is going to hold true. But we'll have a blast for a long time before we reach tha limit.

I bought this toy for my 4 year old grandsons birthday. Was a hit as soon as it was open. All three of our grandchildren just love it. From our 1 1/2 year old to our 3 year old. I am getting pictures all the time and my daughter says as soon as they eat breakfast they are playing on it. Even the 1 1/2 year old gets up set when they take her turn and she lets the other two know it is her turn. Worth the pictures and all the enjoyment of them having fun. It is priceless to see the enjoyment on their faces playing with the coaster. Just need to add a car for indivudal sale so there can be two cars for the coaster. Now my granddaughter wants her car to be pink.

My grandkids are 3 and 7. The 3 year old loves it simply. The 7 year old loves to be extreme. It is plenty big and sturdy for both. I suggest the parents stand by. If its in the grass its mild and stops quickly, but if on the driveway or garage, or cement-- look-out. They like to put it on the hill. You can move it around anywhere. They set it at the bottom of their downhill driveway, so that when they coast they start going up-hill and then roll back to the coaster, backwards. So fun!!

Comments about Step2 Extreme Coaster:

I have 9 kids - 4 under 5 years old. My teenage son put it together quickly and correctly (he is not a builder!)with the little ones climbing all over him while he did it. They have played with it almost non-stop for three weeks now. They can push the car up the ramp themselves (my two year old son does it himself)and they can roll down it themselves over and over again. They climb up and get in the car, which doesn't come off the top of the track until they push it off (it doesn't fall off unexpectedly or anything) and they even ride it backwards to make it more scary. Our 4 year old loves it, our one year old loves it, our two and three year olds love it also. Very sturdy and well made!

I bought this for my son prior to his 2nd B-Day and he loves it. The older kids in the neighborhood love to ride it also, although I think it's best suited for kids 2 or 3. I could see him getting bored with it as he gets another year or two older. However, I do not have any regrets at all about the purchase.

Comments about Step2 Extreme Coaster:

We live in a town house complex and we don't have a backyard, so we put the extreme coaster in our garage, on a rubber tiled floor.. when we use it we leave the garage door open and stay at the street just in case that it goes all the way there... it is absolutely awesome.. all the kids in the neighborhood love it and want to try it when they see the garage door open.. The only thing I would recommend is to buy a seatbelt.. there are the openings for it, but it doesn't come with the roller coaster. My son is 1, he loves it.. but I would never put him on without a seatbelt.. He always climbs to the top to sit in the car whenever the garage is open and he can see the roller coaster. I also have nephews 2 and 3.. they also love it!!!

Comments about Step2 Extreme Coaster:

This is a great toy. It is smaller than I expected (I should've read the dimensions), but that doesn't bother my 3 boys ages 4, 3 and 1 or any of their friends! My 4 yr old says it is "super-sonic fast"! We had a party with kids ranging from ages 1 - 7 and they all loved it! All the parents wanted to know where we got it. Friends joke that we have a "Step 2 backyard" but when you find a company that makes great, fun, safe toys in the USA, you can't help but buy more! Next on our list is the Skyward Summit...

We were very excited to get this product. It was very easy to assemble, my husband had it up and ready to go in 1/2 hour (even with the boys "helping"). It was alot smaller than I expected, my own fault for not reading the dimensions, the picture was a bit deceiving. It stands about 3 ft high. My boys ages 4,3, and 1 love it. They say it is "super-sonic fast". Added a seatbelt I had extra from the choo-choo wagon for the 1 year old (though I do hold the car as he goes down). Another great Step 2 product!

I have 5 children and they LOVE this coaster. I have to make them come inside ever since we got it! My husband is deployed to Iraq and I had to put this together myself. But it was very simple and had easy to follow directions. I am a certified welder so the fact that there were no guide holes for some of the screws as some people before me stated, really didn't bother me at all.
It is very sturdy and a ton of fun!

The Coaster is great! My little one (he's just a little over 2) wear's himself out with this toy. I don't trust him completely on his own yet because he doesn't pay attention to the stairs. With a little help from mom & dad though he has a great time with it. The only thing that I could see changing is the sides, when you slide the car up and go to sit down, well if you miss the car you could fall off. If it came with just a little taller sides, just at the top, I would feel more secure. Other than that minor issue...it is GREAT!

This is the second Extreme Coaster I've purchased as a birthday gift for a grandchild. Each got one for their third birthday and this was the hit of the parties. Sixteen party-goers between 2 and 10 eagerly stood in line to take their turn. I've ridden it more than once...It's a blast.

We were watching this for a long time before we bought it, we finally decided to purchase it [...] As soon as the weather was warm enough my husband put it together, with my 2 boys eagerly looking on! It was easy to assemble and the boys are crazy about it. They were on it for hours the first day, and the second day they wanted to go outside at 9am just to ride it! Our boys are 3 and 5 and fit on it perfectly, I'm sure their little sister will be on it by next summer! It is a great toy investment because it will not be outgrown very quickly and keeps the kids outside getting exercise. Would definitely recommend this product, price seems a little steep but well worth it!

It is all that I thought it would be. It is easy to move around so that the car doesn't leave permanent tracks in the yard. One twin likes to jump off the top. Beware if you have a dare-devil.

I love the roller coaster. We had the smaller one when my son was about 18 months and now that he is 4 it is the perfect upgrade. He was actually still playing with the smaller one so I'm sure we will get lots of use out of the bigger one.

Comments about Step2 Extreme Coaster:

This toy is fantastic. I was a bit put off by the price initially but my wife and I are more than happy that we spent the money because children are fickle and they become bored with most toys after a little while but not with this one. I have a 3 year old boy and a 7 year old girl and they both love it. The best thing is that my 3 year old can use it without direct supervision because it's so easy to get the car back up the ramp. He plays with it for hours on end and there is usually a line of four or five kids waiting there turn to go for a ride once we bring it out.

Definitely worth the price! My kids are 5 1/2 and 7, so I was a little hesitant that we would get good use out of the coaster before they'd be too old, but it's a big hit. And it's so sweet to see them enjoy such a basic toy. No lights! No noises!! No electronics, at all!! What a reprieve!! I'll gladly continue to invest in these types of toys as long as I can!

I got this for my 3 kids ages 2 (Boy), 3 (Boy), and 4 (Girl)years old for Christmas 2008. It is a big hit! We did have it inside the house for a couple of days but it was getting a little dangerous at times. It is perfect for outside. All of my children just love it and tell everyone how they just love it so much and it was the best gift they got. My husband had not trouble putting it together, either. Comments about Step2 Extreme Coaster:

This is a super toy for those little daredevils who are very active. My son (the little daredevil) was 20 months old when we gave him this and he loves it. Within the first hour he was launching himself, riding down with his hands in the air, woo-hooing, then pushing the car back up the ramp by himself to do it all over again. It tires him out so he sleeps great at night!

The only suggestion I would have is that maybe the "railing" around the top could be taller because my son likes to climb up to the top and roll his cars down the grooves that the wheels ride in. When he's standing up on that top platform the sides are very short and offer no support to keep him from going over the edge. I know it wasn't designed for children to do this so I'm not complaining, I'm just saying that he has a tendancy to do this and it would be safer if the rails were higher.

Used properly, it is very safe, durable, and loads of fun. Worth every penny!

Great gift from Santa. Our three year old loves it and our nine month old will grow into it; he enjoys slowed down rides right now. The whole thing is nice and sturdy, so we don't have to worry about safety. Two suggestions would be to make sure the first couple of rides are slow in order to avoid being spooked. Also, be sure to assemble prior to giving. Assembly is easy, but takes quite some time.

My son and his friends have a blast with this rollar coaster. The only thing is that it goes fast and far. Our basement is about 50 feet long and it goes the entire length and could keep going farther. We had to put a crash pad at the end to stop them from hitting the wall. If you have the space it is awesome. The car that they sit in is very sturdy and safe. My son is 4 (about 40 inches tall) and he still has some room to grow and still fit well in the car.

This peice of play equipment is so much fun! You do need some space to be able to really enjoy it. A long driveway is great or a really big porch. We started with ours half on the porch, continuing out onto the grass in the yard. Obviously you will go faster on concrete but it works great on our short Arizona grass too!

Comments about Step2 Extreme Coaster:

The 3 y/o took some time to get acquainted with it and simply climbed the steps and ran the empty cart up and down for a while. Once he started to ride it however, we couldn't get him off. Every launch for this little guy required hands-on adult supervision because he 1) tried to get in the cart before it was secured at the top 2) he eventually wanted to ride on his stomach, face first and 3) he decided that he liked it backwards. Because of the weight distribution, it tends to go a bit faster. Therefore, we kept a hand on it until it was part of the way down the track.
We've made a rule that he cannot get in the cart (even on the ground) unless he's wearing his helmet. However, since 3 y/o's aren't known for common sense, the cart is to be secured any time that there is no adult in the yard.
Other than the need for intense supervision, this toy is great. The birthday boy loved it and I'm sure that his cousins will when they visit. It appears that is will be age appropriate for a few years and will get a lot of use, which was our hope when we selected it.

We love this coaster. It is lots of fun. It was easy to assemble - aobut 20 minutes IF you follow the instructions. You have to be careful using this coaster if you have small children or babies. They tend to want to crawl around or on it and risk getting hit by the car coming down. Also it seems to need longer screws connecting the top piece of track to the platform. We've only had ours since Christmas day and they seem to be pulling out. Other than that we Highly recommend this coaster. It is AWESOME!

Comments about Step2 Extreme Coaster:

I thouroughly reviewed this toy before purchasing it. I read dozens of reviews which convinced me to give it a try. I had every expectation it would be "the gift" of Christmas 2008 (even though the wife disagreed) and I was right! I had it assembled inside the house for when the kids (ages 3.5 and 26 months) woke up and their eyes lit up as soon as they saw it. The first time down they were a little unsure and their eyes were wide, but after that it was "game on" and non-stop fun. The great thing is they have to push the car back to the coaster, which they usually do running, which gives them exercise and tires them out! We have been using it right out our front door so the kids shoot down the sidewalk, across a small patch of grass and into the cul 'de sac - a parent will have to supervise unless the "path" for the coaster doesn't take them into a street etc. Our boys actually ride in together with the older boy wrapping his arms around his brother while riding on his lap! Every family member who came over, especially those with young children, were envious and emphatic in their pronoucements it was "awesome" "incredible" and "amazing". I bet several of them will be buying one for their kids next birthday. Step 2 hit a homerun with this toy. Hands down, the best gift of this Christmas!

We love this toy! My 2 and 4 year old boys can't get enough of it.What a way to burn some energy. Luckily we have enough room in our play room to use it. We have to put up bumpers (pillows) to keep them from crashing into the wall. This thing is huge! We will definetly be putting it outside come spring. What a big suprise Christmas morning there very own roller coaster. We bought the big daddy with free shipping from step 2 other sites had it for $50 bucks more, [...] had it only once in a while on there website. What a great deal. We thought about getting the smaller one, but the boys will be able to grow into this and use it longer. Adult supervision required with my 2 yr old, he needs help turning around at the top. Sharring hasn't been a problem the have been taking turns, I think they like watching eachother go down it.

The boys loved it and it was tough to get them to stop playing with it. Step 2 did an outstanding job with this one-it is kid operated and can be left outdoors. Definetly worth the price.

I stumbled across this toy while looking for a jungle gym. I couldn't find one bad review and now I know why. It's easy to put together, durable, safe and the kids absolutely love it!! I can't believe it's not sold in stores or advertised more. It would fly off the shelves.

Comments about Step2 Extreme Coaster:

My boys love the Extreme Coaster. It was easy to assemble and it is easy to move. It has just enough speed to give the boys a thrill while still keeping safety in mind. This is an outside toy that can entertain for hours. My only concern is the lack of a seat belt on the car. I think that would add a safety aspect that is missing. Overall, a wonderul product.
