Great for what we wanted at our preschool for 2-5 year-olds. One leg did not fit right into its slot, took some tools to get it to go in, but the other 3 slipped into place quickly. Less than 5 minutes and kids were playing in it. Love the elastic hold downs for the lid!

This sandbox is great. I bought this for my little girl when she was just 1 and now is is 3. It still looks like it did when we pulled it out of the box. It has been moved all over our yard. She even sits in it. Its been great having during parties. All the kids love it. I was kind of weird about her sitting in sand so this was a perfect buy. It also came with a lid so its easy to keep the cats out!!!!!! I'm glad we have it and my daughter still loves it. She go's to it everytime we go out. Its real fun to put colored sand in it.

This sand table is too small, too low to the ground and not deep enough. It's good for a 1 or 2yr old and 1 or 2 children at a time.

We are very happy with this sand table. I personally like the colors and the size of it. Could be a little deeper, but the play area is a good size. I also like the fact that it is just a sand table and not a combo table with water too. My 2 year old son loves it and wants to play outside with it every chance he gets. Super easy to assemble too!

We got this table for our grandson who absolutely hates to get dirty. When put in his cousin's sandbox the first time, he held his legs up in the air. He loves this table. He can play in the dirt -- without getting dirty, and there's room for his friends to play with him too! He loves it!

This table is lots of fun albeit a bit messy but what do you expect when you put sand and a 3 and 2 yo together:) Easy to assemble. My major complaint is that the cover does not keep rain out at all. I called the company and they said the top was redesigned due to new government guidelines so it is not air tight. I think there must be a way to design a better top in line with the guidelines and I am going to gerry rig something myself so I don't have to dump the water out ever time it rains. Wish me luck!

It is so shallow that the sand immediately went all over the deck-- as a former teacher and parent, I found this a major design flaw and one that could have been easily remedied if the product had been sufficiently kid tested.

We've had this sand table for almost a month, and it has been such a hit for our 18 month old! It's just the perfect height for her, and it also makes it easier for me (as a disabled parent) to play with her. It's deep enough for good digging without being too deep, holding a 50lb bag of play sand perfectly. I like that she's not sitting in the sand, so she's not getting as dirty. Also, the shovels it came with are the perfect size for little hands. She and her friends (most ages 2-4) will play at this box for easily an hour, quite a long time at this age.

We havent actually used this for sand yet and temporarily (I think) found another great use for it. I didn't get it outside before my 3 boys 3,5 & 9 turned it into a lego table. It holds a pile of legos and they stand around it and build and it is easier than ever to get them to clean them up when they are done playing. I may have to buy a second table for outside sand play!

This sand table was easy to put together and my two daughters (ages 5 1/2 & 3 1/2) enjoy playing with it; however, even with the lid on it has gotten full of water when it rains. All in all, they enjoy it though and I don't even think they mind that the sand got wet.

We bought this table when it first came out -- I think that was 3 years ago. It's still going strong and we leave it out all winter on our porch. We've never had a problem with the sand getting wet *as long as we put the lid on carefully*. (Take the toys out of the inside so they don't prop the edges up.) We do have a problem with rain collecting in the molded in roadways on the lid, however.

For our first child, we bought a sandbox with lid and had to drill holes and use bungee cords to keep neighborhood cats and other critters (inc. snakes) out...and it was as wet as the surrounding ground when it rained...now that was a problem. We haven't had any of that with this table.

As far as the height goes, a child's chair fits nicely beside it as they get older...and the kids don't get as much sand in their clothes and track it all over the house like with the climb in kind. (The oldest would turn into a sand monster after playing in his sandbox...but not so with this table.)

I only wish it was about an inch or two deeper so more treasures could be buried in it and more toys could stay in it when the lid is on it.

I got this as a present for my youngest daughter. Both girls have really enjoyed it. It is very low to the ground, even more than I thought from the pictures. It is just the right height for a toddler, but may be a little too low for older children.

I would lengthen the legs because the children have to kneel on the ground to be able to play in the table comfortablely. I would also make the play area larger so more than 2 children could use the table at a time and I would also make the cover of a harder plastic so it would fit tighter. I use bungee cords and large trucks on top to help keep out the rain.

I got this table as a sensory table to use mostly indoors. Great for rainy day play. We use oatmeal, water, shaving cream, etc. My 2 1/2 year old son loves it. I wish they made one for preschoolers too. (He'll be too tall for it sooner than I would like.) Additionally, I like that it was made here in the USA. I can trust that it's safe. That may sound corny and I don't worry about it much; but it is still nice.

Great sand table. Great hight, perfect depth. For those that complain about the water:
1) Yes, some water gets in. Ours has been through multiple tropical storms, the sand got very wet but it wasn't a disaster/water table situation.
2) mold/mildew will grow regardless of whether it's super wet or just humid and closed up. If you've got mold, you don't have it open enough. (This also means you probably have to throw the sand out for the winter unless it's frozen). Solution: Play more!

So, if it's too wet, leave it open. Frankly, we had to water ours to keep the dust down many more times than letting it dry out.

I couldn't be happier but I took off a star because it may not be best for those who wouldn't use it all the time (e.g. grandparents, etc) unless you lived in an arid climate.

My 15 month old and 3 year old love this sand box. They get hours of play time out of it. Sure it gets wet if there is a heavy rain but the sand is easier to mold that way. :) Definitely a great purchase!

The sandbox was a little smaller than I initially thought it was going to be, but it works out fine for my youngest kids ages 1 & 3. The cover is also a plus. I never want to have to clean out a sandbox again and this will definitely help.

This sand table is great. We actually use it as a tactile table. we have had water in it. Which is a huge hit. even with our older neighbor kids. Its a great way to cool kids down without having to drag out the pool. We have also put other things in the table like corn meal or rice to give a different sensation. It closes up tight so its safe to leave out side and it duarble enough for several kids to lean on it at once. Loved it. Great purchase.

Very easy to assemble; pefect level for toddlers so they don't have to sit on the edge or in the sand! Add a few chairs if you want, but they are just as happy to walk around the table! Great for outside (sand) or inside (Play-Dough). So the sand may get a little wet at times, but the majority of the time the kids add water any ways so they can build!

I bought this table for my 4 children ages 1,3,6, and 8. They all love it the sand stays dry in the rain. I will be purchasing a second one for our summer home we like it so much. Hardly a day goes by that someone isn't playing in it. I takes 1 bag of sand to fill which is easy too. I wish it was a little bit deeper so they could bury stuff easier. They like to create trasure hunts with stones, seashells,etc.

The sand table ordered for our grandson has proven to be multi-purpose. We are in a colder climate and haven't seen much spring as yet and are making good use of the sand table indoors until we can play outdoors. Playdoh and finger paints are good fun and easy clean up in the sand table. Our 2 1/2 year old grandson has a wonderful time playing and parking his trucks and cars in the sand table and using the top as his highway for miscellaneous vehicles. Eventually the sand table will make it outside or maybe we need another - one for indoors and one for outdoors.

The top of this table is not designed well and I'm not sure why this got past toy testing and has made it onto the sales floor. The lid does NOT keep water out and the sand is wet wet wet. It takes a VERY long time to dry the sand out, so it's almost always wet. Very disapointed, we are pretty frugal and this was a big splurge for our daughters first birthday. I have tried to use silcone to seal the holes near the holes where the water gets in like a previous poster suggested, but that has not worked.

This sandbox looks attractive and is easy to assemble, however, the lid does not seal it closed so that water goes in each and every time it rains making the sand wet and sometimes even moldy. I would not recommend this sand box.

I love how this sand box is above ground, and my son can stand by it's side while he is playing. It keeps the sand out of his shoes and pants and therefore, out of the house! He loves to go back and forth between this sand box and his Step2 Water Table. If water gets into it because of the rain, I don't mind because then the sand becomes easier to build castles with. I love that there is a cover to keep out dirt and insects, and I love that it is off the ground. Great purchase!!

We recently purchased this sand table for our 3 yr old, as she loves to play with sand, but were disappointed in it very quickly. We placed it on our deck with the lid securely attached, but after 1 night of rain, the entire inside is filled with water and the sand is ruined! There's no place for the water to go, so we now have to dump the entire thing. I've contacted Step 2 directly and was told by their Customer Service Rep that there's nothing they can/will do and she suggested we try putting silicone around the holes where the cable goes through. Just another poorly created product that the manufacturer continues to make money off of!

The sand table would be perfect for my grandchildren, except that it fills with water every time it rains, then algae and mold grow in the sand unless I constantly empty water and air it out. I'm very disappointed in that particular aspect. It seems strange that others report that their sand stays dry. A drain with a screw-in plug might help, or at least make it easier to maintain adequately. I have tried to position the lid to repel rain, but nothing has helped. I have had to replace the sand several times this summer.

I bought the sand and water table for 2 of my grandchildren and it's geat. For this grandchild I bought this wonderful sand table. It holds a lot of sand, it's just the right height to stand at or he pulls a toy up to sit on so he can sit down and play. He's only 2 so maybe this winter we'll bring it inside and fill it with rice or something because it's so easy to clean.

Great sand table. I especially like the feature of the car track on the cover--with 2 boys it is a must. 2 nights after I put it together we had a bad rainstorm and amazingly the sand stayed dry. Very durable. Both my 7 month old and my 6 year old love it. It is a little short for my 6 year old to play with without getting on his knees but I was aware that the product was made for younger children so I was not disappointed

My grandson, 20 months, loves his playtable. When the 3 and 4 year old grandchildren come over, there's plenty of room for all 3 of them. The legs are short but I don't think that will be a problem. They already sit on riding toys or little chairs sometimes to play at the table. Some have said the lid is too flimsy and doesn't keep the rain out. The lid is lightweight, but it's still stong and with 50 pounds of sand, the lid is tight and keeps the rain out.

We love everything about this table, except the height. It is a little short, but besides that its great. It has 40 pounds of sand which seems to be plenty & we're able to store it with toys in side. I was a little concerned about the lid being to flimsy, but its been through some pretty serious storms & seems to keep everything dry. We've also had up to 4 kids (ages, 1,2,2 & 3.5) playing in it & the only problem was who had what toy... Wonderful buy!

I bought this table specifically b/c it was solely a sand table. Too many other parents complained of the mess of a sand AND water table. A good idea to many but too much upkeep apparently. I like the size of this table. Can get 1-3 around it nicely, without running into too many fights over sand territory. I also like the easy on & off lid. Haven't seen any rain water seeping in yet. The colors are very pleasant. A nice change from the typical vibrant colors of outdoor kids toys/furniture. The only cons... I do wish there was an umbrella feature. The sun gets pretty hot out there. Also, I have a taller 3 year old. I wish this table either stood a bit taller or provided a telescoping option or height boosters of some sort for the legs. I'm afraid this table might get outgrown sooner than I hoped just because of the taller height of my child. Seems a bit unfair. But, overall very pleased with my purchase.

This product meets all my expections except it is a little short. For my 4 year olds, they have to get on their knees to play. Very durable and looks great indoors, love the natural coloring. The kids use it as a rice table inside and it gives them hours of fun.

Assembly took all of about one minute - the legs just snapped on and it was ready to go. We put it in the backyard, added sand and let the kids go. It was a bday gift for our 2 yr old and she is very protective of it already! Description says it will hold up to 80 lbs of sand, but we've discovered that a 50 lbs bag works just right. It doesn't overflow but allows for the lid to go on top and close properly. (It was tested out the first night we had it. A huge rain storm came thru and the next day there was no water inside whatsoever!!)
