My daughter got this cart as a present from grandma for her second Birthday back in July. It's been a great hit with her and she loves playing with it. We also own the watertable but since she loves to mix sand and water this cart seemed like a much better idea for her. The water part is great since it has the drainage hole but it would be great if the hole was a little funnelled (lower than the rest) so that the water, including the sand and slush can run out better when cleaning. I definitely love the cover of this cart, makes it easy to keep bugs and dirt out. The umbrella is a great feature and it is most certainly big enough for my two year old as well as her sister who is turning 5 in September and is very tall for her age. The only complaint I have is that one of the umbrella spindles broke after only a couple of uses. I am sure though that can be replaced [...]So I would definitely recommend this toy to anyone with small children, it can be used year round, with sand and water in the summer and then in the winter I will clean it out and fill it with beans or store megablocks and stuff in it.

I really love this water cart. My older child enjoys pouring water in the bucket and on the water wheel. My young one loves to splash and soak herself. It keeps their attention for quite a long time which is not always easy to do. Thanks Step 2!

I use this just for sand. I don't think it would work well for both water and sand. I think over all this is a nice product. It can handle 2 to 4 kids at a time. It would be better if it was deeper. It is very easy to move and the sand stays perfectly dry with the lid on.

Other reviewers mentioned that they didn't like the umbrella, and I would agree that the umbrella does not shade the whole cart, but because I can move the cart, I just turn it so that the umbrella covers where my daughter is playing at the time.

My daughter is four, but she's small, so she'll have at least another year of use, maybe two. Also, we haven't had water in it yet because my daughter spread the sand across the whole thing. Works fine this way, too. More of a sand table at this point, but still a lot of fun.

My two 3 year old tall grandsons absolutely love playing with this for hours. The umbrella makes it possible for them to play with it in any weather. I wheel it out in the yard, and when they are finished, I drain the water, clean the sand out of the water side with paper towels (they love pouring sand in the water side) and then tip the sand side to drain the excessive water my boys add to the sand. I only have them over once a week, so I like to clean it before I move it.I would suggest having a small very fine strainer drain plug on the sand side to drain excess water.I would also suggest extensions on the legs to allow for taller children.

My Grandkids-ages 1 1/2 thru 5 just love playing with this sand and water cart. They concoct many new recipes involving water and sand for us to "eat." The boats make numerous trips through the water. The umbrella that comes with the cart helps to keep the sun off of them as they enjoy their imaginative play for many hours.

Easy to move even with some water in it. We just use it for water, not sand and water. My 2 year old has a lot of fun with it as well as her 3 year old cousin. The only con so far (we've been using it for less than a week) is the plastic has a funky (minor) imprint on one corner, it looks like it was from the manufacturing not damage in shipping.

This is wonderful, after purchasing others and returning because of poor quality this one really stands out!! I love how sturdy it is, it is the perfect hight for my 2 yr old, the umbrella helps to keep water cooler when out in sun, I can store all play things underneath, and I move all over yard easily and put away in garage at night. my husband loves it because it is one less thing he has to move when cutting grass!! I also have a 8 yr old and his friends love to play with it. [...] my only wish is that it had a drain on the sand side, I only use water as of now and have to tip over to drain. This cart was a big hit at my 2 year old grandson's birthday party! It can be used as a combination sand/water cart, or just as a water cart for even easier cleanup. It's portable and the cover and umbrella do their jobs well. It keeps him happily occupied for long periods of time while I sit in the shade watching! Easy assembly, I did find that using a power drill to insert the screws cut down a lot on the sweat factor!

My 2-year old simply adores this sand and water cart. The water wheel is great, and there is plenty of room in the sand section for building and piling. My only issue (and a small one), is that it can be a little difficult to clean out sand from the water area.

My 2 1/2 year old daughter LOVES playing with this Step 2 product. I fill both sides with water since she enjoys that more than sand. The protective lid works great and is the reason I purchased this particular table in the first place. It is nice to not have to drain the table each night. Just put the lid on and you are good to go the next morning!

This is great in the garage or on the back porch. I bought this because we couldn't keep bugs and worms out of our sandbox, even with a cover on it (and bricks and bungee cords). This is off the ground, has an umbrella, and can be wheeled into the garage at the end of the day, when it rains, etc. There is sand all over the place, but my kids love it and that's all that matters!

This cart is great. My daughter(age 2 1/2)loves it and she'll play in it for hours. She can even take the lid on and off by herself. The best part is the wheels........If I'm doing something in the front yard I can pull it out front and if I'm out back I pull it out back. Great idea adding those wheels!!

The sand and water table is great. However I only use it for sand--the area for water and sand is not that big and the kids just make mud out of it so I use sand or water and it works out great. The umbrella is great too!! My children are 3 and 19 months.

Bought this for a 2 year old who ABSOLUTELY loves it. Forgot to get sand, so filled both sides with water and every day she wants to play with her water table. She has so much fun her 6 year old brother quite often joins in. It keeps them both occupied for a good hour at a time. If the water gets dirty the cart is light enough to easily dump and quickly fill again.

My 2 year old son loves it, but made it into a mud pit. That was easy to resolve--we took out the sand and now it is just a water table. You might be asking, then why not just purchase a water table for less than half the cost? Well, I think he is too young to understand to keep water on one side and sand on the other--plus he is a boy--he likes mud!

After reading the reviews about the sand and water combining, I decided to buy this to use as a sand cart only. We're very very happy with the purchase. The "water" wheel still turns when sand goes through it, and my son loves it. We had three days of heavy rains, and when I took the cover off afterwards the sand was COMPLETELY dry. Very impressive. The umbrella could be a little taller; my 2.5 year old can't fit under it. But such is life. :)

For this summer I've bought many of the step two products including the Magic Fountain Playhouse, The Naturally Playful Picnic Table and Slid...but of everything this water table is by far her favorite...she goes straight to it everytime. It is easy to clean up and move around for us...although we don't put sand in it...only water. The side that holds water is not too large so when you put water in both sides it makes for the percect water table size. Anyway we love it and my littel girl loves her backyard retreat! Thank you step 2!

The best thing about this cart is how easy it is to move around from place to place. We almost always keep it in our backyard, but on rainy days, we can easily move it into the kitchen for our daughter to play. Another great feature is the cart cover that straps down, as our backyard can be very windy. We use the whole cart for water, and it keeps her entertained for hours.

Great for my grandsons age two and a half. They played for hours, and even though they were playing with both sand and water, their clothes did not get very wet or gritty.

I am not mechanical, but even I had no trouble assembling the unit. This product was worth every penny:-)

This was a gift for my 5 year old. We didn't put sand in it and used it entirely for a water table. The kids loved it!! It's easy to move around and the umbrella keeps the sun out. The lid fits very securely to keep out bugs and rain. This was such a good buy!!

We just bought this for our son's 2nd birthday. He likes sand but I didn't really want him sitting in it as it gets into everything.

We live in a townhouse/condo with a little concrete patio and a backyard but it's a shared backyard and landscapers come every week to mow the lawn. Therefore we can't really keep anything on the grass. This is perfect. It being a cart makes it really portable and easy to move around. I like the umbrella too to protect from the sun.

The only drawback is it is smaller than most sand/water tables but I guess that's what you get for having it more portable. One bag of sand fills the whole thing. I don't put water in it because I think sand and water is too messy, it would DEFINITELY get mixed with this. Instead we have a separate water table from Step2 that my son loves too.
