this looks really good but the sand mixes a bit too well with the water so its just super messy. the top does not fit well at all when you try and close the two pieces. the add on pieces - the tunnels, birdges, etc suck - the fall right off and kids dont know how to put it back on. its pretty bad.
Comments about Step2 Water Rush Quarry:
My kids love this! This is the only thing they want to play with when they're outside. I don't know what we're going to do for the winter. They won't want me to put it away. We're going to have to figure out a way!
Comments about Step2 Water Rush Quarry:
Most of the parts to not fit snug causing improper and in some cases unsafe circumstances. None of the tunnels or bridges fit correctly. In addition, the top tray does not snap in well.
Comments about Step2 Water Rush Quarry:
We got a new fence and needed some fun outdoor toys for our 20 month old son. This seemed great until we took it out of the box. The bridges pop up a little so the truck gets stuck when going down, the tunnel just lays on the table, so it's constantly falling off, the slide tumbles off also. for the money my husband and I were completely put off by what it was. The whole thing just rests on each piece..the table rests on the legs, the table then only rests on the edge of the sandbox part. Poor poor poor. I get the idea of it all..but for the money it could have been built better.
Comments about Step2 Water Rush Quarry:
The pieces do not fit together easily. The bar under the red side does not hold up, and bridges and tunnel do not fit at all and keep falling off. My 3 year old is frustrated that it keeps falling down and apart. I would not recommend this to a friend. Very disappointing as I love all other Step 2 products I have purchased.
Comments about Step2 Water Rush Quarry:
I was extrememly disappointed in this product. The bridge and tunnel parts are not locked in, so while kids are playing they easily come off. Same goes with the legs, it can fall down if your child leans on it. Water seeped into the sand when I had the cover on. I wish the sand part was bigger too. Not a lot of area to play in the sand. THere are not place for the children to sit, if they are in the sand. I would rather purchase the regular sandbox with an umbrella.
Comments about Step2 Water Rush Quarry:
Bridges do not fit. Fustrating for children trying to send cars down. Step 2 told me to take a blow dryer to the area to melt it down. That did not work. Small yellow car broke first day. Unstabable support bar under red area. Frequently collapses. Green scoop/shovel very flimsy, looks like it won't last long.
Has potential, but needs massive reworking.
Comments about Step2 Water Rush Quarry:
We installed this water/sand play set the day we got it. My son is two years old he played with it instantly and goes out every day and plays at least 20-30 minutes at this set by himself. He does climb inside the sand_area, but it is sturdy enough to hold him, does not bend under his weight. I even filled it up with water and he sat and played in it like in a kiddie pool. We love this playset. My friends love it too. They say it's a good price too.

Overall great product, some accesories keep falling off. My 2 yr. Old son loves it. Also got step 2 extreme coaster & that is awesome!
Comments about Step2 Water Rush Quarry:
The bridges and tunnels fall off easily and the leg "buckles" if you lean on it. Other than that my 4 yr old son loves to pour water down it and drive his trucks and cars all over.

I bought this product to keep at my house for my 3 year old grandson! He loves it! He has really used his imagination with it and I just let him do what he wants instead of what he should.
It's just the right size for him. It looks small to a grown up, but not to him.

I am very happy with this purchase. The only thing I would recommend would be to place down plastic underneath or a tarp so you do not lose the sand. My son has had so much fun with it and continues to be interested in it!
Comments about Step2 Water Rush Quarry:
Our 2 year old really enjoys playing with the scoops and trucks in this sandbox. He likes the idea of the crane, but is not coordinated enough yet to use it on his own. He also enjoys pouring sand and sending his trucks down the tunnels. The colors are bright and fun. Our concerns with this sandbox are that the lid doesn't snap down/connect in either the open or closed positions, the legs do not attach, and the tunnels and bridges do not attach to the top. For each of these features, they just set or lean in place and so it is not very stable. We also have not added water, because it seems like the sand ends up in the water half of the quarry, and adding water would be very messy. Instead, we have just put sand in both sides of the quarry. We do like the size of this box as well as the idea behind it, and overall feel like if it were more sturdy, it would be a good product.

my boys and all their friends really enjoy this product..( they are 2 and 3 years old)
it has alot of features but they can easily remove parts, which is just one more thing you have to find and put back into the correct spot time and time again...all in all this is a great product for kids for the summer
Comments about Step2 Water Rush Quarry:
Very disappointed in constructions. Tunnel and tracks do not fit and keep falling off. Water collects in the cover and the sand is wet takes along time to dry and if diffcult to get water out of cover.
Comments about Step2 Water Rush Quarry:
Our 4-year old son and his friends really enjoy this sand and water toy. It is easy for a mom to assemble (did it myself in about 20 minutes) and the red lid keeps the sand safely inside the bottom "quarry" when play is over. My son loves to fill the blue bucket, watch the water rush down the "river" and then lift the "dam" to let the water into the quarry below. The one downside is that the green ramp for the cars to launch off of easily detaches from the main piece.

My son loves this toy. He plays with it everyday. The smaller pieces dont stay in place but its not a big deal.
Comments about Step2 Water Rush Quarry:
The quarry is a good buy for the money. My 3 year old and 6 year old love it. Keeps them entertained for hours.
Comments about Step2 Water Rush Quarry:
Sent this to my grandson. The parts did not fit together well, the construction is poor so it doesn't operate properly. Returned to Step 2
Comments about Step2 Water Rush Quarry:
I don't get how this product all fits together.
The slide doesn't fit, neither do the bridges.
It is cute-too small-and closes up to keep the animals away. But it does't all fit together to make it kid frendly.
Comments about Step2 Water Rush Quarry:
The sand and the water don't mix. There is not enough room for either one.
Comments about Step2 Water Rush Quarry:
Much smaller than appears in picture. Doesn't hold very much sand. Set-up is simple. The water dam doesn't really work, and for some reason, the cars get stuck on the ramps on ours. Our kid LOVEs the big excavator arm though. Probably your best bet would be to get a larger sandbox and fill it with some fun sand toys.
Comments about Step2 Water Rush Quarry:
NONE OF THE PIECES FIT CORRECTLY. THE BRIDGES ARE SLIGHTLY HIGHER THAN THE REST OF THE TRACK THEREFORE THE CARS DO NOT ROLL DOWN SMOOTHLY, THE TUNNEL DOES NOT SIT CORRECTLY AND THE SLIDE INTO THE SAND DOES NOT STAY ON. THE RED PART DOES NOT SIT INTO THE GROVES THEREFORE FALLS OFF EASILY. WE WASTED TIME TRYING TO "MAKE IT WORK" AND ENDED UP TAKING IT ALL APART AND RETURNING IT. BIG HEADACHE!!!!!!

We love our new Water Rush Quarry and I say "we" because the whole family is enjoying it. My three year old son and his friends love playing in the water, the sand, and with the vehicles. I love it because they have so much variety of play in one station. My husband loves it because it is easy to clean or to store when needed during bad weather. We are delighted with this purchase and definitely found a great value. Thanks Step 2 for another great product for both learning and play.

Bought this yesterday & my 7yr old & 4yr old love it. It is alot of fun. One can play in the sand & the other in the water. They love the dam & being able to shoot cars down the ramp. My 7yr old loves the crane & putting into the truck. My only complaint is it could have been bigger! I haven't had to clean it yet, but looks super simple. Love that you can use just the top for cars when it's a little too chilly for water.
