Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Twin Bed:

Step2 never failed me before and once again, another great product from the trusted Made in the USA company. This bed is working out so well for us. My two years old daughter did fine in her crib, until we switched to a toddler bed when she turned about 20 months old. She hated her toddler bed and refused to get in bed to sleep. She would sleep on the floor and then we would move her to bed while she was sleeping. Since we got this bed for her 2nd birthday. She loves this bed and has no trouble sleeping in it. We used a piece of plywood as a base and placed 7 inch memory foam mattress. The height is just perfect and she hasn't fall off from her bed. The assembly was quick and easy, and she loves the bottom storage area to crawl around. I should have just gone straight to this bed from a crib, just wasted money and built up frustration for both my daughter. She's still working on getting comfortable with coming down on the steps but she's getting better everyday. I'm glad I bought this bed and I'm sure this bed is going to last for a very long time. Great job Step2!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Twin Bed:

wow - this bed is fantastic! I researched a bed for our little girl for several MONTHS. Even at 3 years old, she felt safe in her crib and refused to come out. As her birthday approached we began talking about her "big girl bed." I wanted something that would still give her the security that her crib did, but allow her the freedom to get in and out as she was being potty trained. I read the reviews on here and they were right on, which is why I wanted to include my own. Everyone who said to only buy the top mattress and use a bunky board beneath it - thank you! That is exactly what works perfectly. I was concerned about her rolling out but that was never an issue thanks to the high sides. My one and only complaint is that it can be difficult to change sheets...but everything else is wonderful so I it is still worth the extra effort. And although I was worried that with her freedom would come the nightime battles to get her to stay in bed....well, that never happened. I was shocked. We let her help put it together and she slept in it the first night without a fight and never came out since. I have told all of my friends about this bed and a few moms have made the purchase as well. Money well spent and I'd buy another one when we have our next child.

My husband and I splurged on this when my son transitioned into a big boy bed and it was worth it! Our son loves his bed! He plays on his bed during the day and loves to sleep in it at night. We only put one mattress in so the sides were very high and that made me happy. Our son has never asked to sleep in our bed :)

i bought this for my 19 months old daughter and she loved it so much. i was leary about moving her from her crib into the big girl bed but she climbed right in and never looked back at the crib. it is so much easier for me to get her out of bed in the morning since i have a bad back. she plays underneath the bed too. we got a press on light for underneath and she loves to crawl in and turn on her light. the surface is a little bit rough with the raised lines for the "wood grain" but my daughter doesn't seem to mind. great bed and would buy a 100 times over!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Twin Bed:

We love this bed except everytime my son bumps the edges, it resonates with a loud THUD/THUMPING sound. Our bedroom is very close and it keeps me awake EVERY night. Other than this, it's great! Wonderful storage and play area under bed--we installed red rope lighting under the bed's perimeter on the "ceiling" of the underneath storage and put a switch on it (like a Christmas tree switch). Our son loves to turn on the light and sleep and play under the bed. I would highly recommend a bunkie board--we got one at a furniture store for about $40--looks like a "folding church table" with out the legs. Don't buy a pillowtop mattress because it comes to high over the siderails--get a standard depth twin mattress for rails to be effective. Sheets and covers are hard to change and tuck in. Bed is very sturdy, very fun and big. Even though it's big, there's great storage underneath, so it helps with the toy clutter.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Twin Bed:

when we decided to set up a nursery for our grandchildren i wanted to make sure we covered a good time frame, my granddaughter is 18 months old and her brother is 6 months i couldnt see putting her in a baby bed for such a short time but was reluctant to move to a bed even a toddler bed which she could get in and out of easily or fall from as she is an extreme roly poly when sleeping, this bed was PERFECT, she does not even realize she can climb in and out of it yet (i am careful that older kids who are visiting know this and dont teach her) the sides are perfect for safety and she loves to "camp out" under it when she plays. it is also a great storage area. this is a twin size bed so not only will she be in it till i change but it will be passed on to her brother when he is ready and is a neutral color for just this purpose (in fact it is probably MORE a boys bed).i also slept in it with her on a couple of occasions when she was being "paci" trained, weight limit is 250lbs, my 10 year old nephew loves it so it will be used for years to come and passed on to others when i am done.

We bought two beds for our boys, ages 4 & 2 1/2. After installation, we surprised the boys and they got to stay up a little later than usual as they were so excited we could not bear to make them sleep right away. FYI - we skipped the 'bunkie board' and purchased finished wood to lay underneath the mattresses - same thickness and saved about $150 this way. Bought our beds in Newington CT, excellent sales staff!! I would totally recommend these beds. Also, I am not a 'light' person, but feel totally comfortable that the bed can hold me and the boys together without problems. Excellent beds!

I purchased this bed last year for my now 5 year old son. He has a blast playing on it, and jumping from one end to the other on it. It is easy to get him into when I have to carry him to bed. It is a nice height. My daycare kids love to hide out underneath it with my son being the ring leader he is! The assembly was fairly easy, and it has proven to be very sturdy so far. I would purchase another one if I were going to have anymore kids. Thanks Step 2 for another great product.

We purchased this bed for our 2 year old daughter, who loves her big big bed. She can climb up but not down, which is ok with us for now. Very easy to put together. I like the fact that there is storeage under the bed. On the down side, the inside walls are really rough therefor making changing the sheets painful. Overall great buy.

We purchased this for our grandaughter for her 2nd birthday to transition from her crib to. (We liked it a lot better than the 'girls' version - which pales in comparison). Our grandaughter loved this bed from the moment she set eyes on it and asked to sleep in her "big girl bed" from the first night on. The storage underneath is great (and she and her Papa love to climb under the bed). The bed reminds us of a castle type material and suits her disney princess/disney fairies decor perfectly. The sides are high enough that you dont need to worry about the child falling out in their sleep and best of all they make her feel very safe at night.
I would recommend this to anyone - for a boy or a GIRL!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Twin Bed:

I am glad I purchased this bed for my son. He is currently 4 and he has had this bed since he was 2. I was initially nervous of him getting in and out of the bed with the steps (but if the steps came out like normal steps, that would be a falling hazard). I agree with another poster who said that they scrape their hands making up the bed (the texture can scrape skin). But, my son has never scraped himself, just me. I am not small at all and I get in his bed with him for story time at night and with the bunkie board, it is pretty sturdy. I love the storage and he can fit most of his toys under the bed (which is great). I wish there was a Step2 dresser that matched the bed like the racecar dresser. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of five stars is because of the difficulty making the bed and I scratched my hand while making up the bed. Overall, it's great.

We bought this bed for our 18 month old son to transition him from his crib. He's a tall kid for his age, so we thought a toddler bed would be a waste, and we're glad that we did bought him this twin bed. He loves it and loves to roll around in it. He figured out how to get in and out of it pretty quickly, but the bed still keeps him contained. With only a top mattress (and plywood cut to the right size), there is plenty of rail to keep him from rolling out. My only complaint that is that in a small room, the bed does look gigantic.

Gives kids feeling of a bunk bed but much safer than a bunk for toddlers. Side walls high enough to be safe, but allow big-kid bed feeling. We called it the "Castle Bed" to our son to generate excitement. Can double as a fort!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Twin Bed:

This was purchased as our 2 year olds first "big boy" bed. He loves it and we do too. It was super easy to put together and light enough to be easily moved as well. We used a bunkie board and a 9.5 inch mattress. This made the mattress highth just right. Our son, who squirms alot while sleeping, feels secure in this bed. The only downside to this bed is the rough texture. The sides of this bed are rough and scratch the backsides of my hands everytime I make the bed. (I have put extra pillows against the rough inside walls so that my son doesn't notice). And beacuse the mattress sets down in, it is a little more difficult to change the sheets. However, I would still recommend this bed. Very cute and fun. We get alot of positve comments about it.

My husband and I bought this bed for our two year old son as his first "Big Boy Bed" and we are so glad we did! Our son absolutely loves this bed! He loves climbing up into it, crawling in the "cave" underneath it, and jumping in it. This bed was so easy to put together that it only took my husband 15 minutes! This bed made transitioning our son out of his crib and into a big bed so easy! Even our 14 year old nephew loves this bed, so I know our son will love it for years to come! My only problem is the color of the bed. I wish it was available in other colors to go better with the decor - but our son loves it, so that's what matters. I have already recommended this bed to all my friends who have kids.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Twin Bed:

We purchased this bed for our 19 month old who learned how to get out of his crib. He loves this bed when we were putting it up he was climbing on the later and underneath. Once we got it up and together it only took him 2 times to master the steps and now he is up and down them all of the time. I love that most of his toys fit under the bed too. He knows that they are under there and that they have to go back under there. Also he like that the dog can come up on his bed with him. He LOVES to lay with her and he laughs any time she jumps up with him. He also likes that everyone can come lay in his bed with him too. It is VERY durrable. We are not small people (except for our son) and my husband was on the bed with the dog our son, and his other daughter who is 5 and I look underneath and none of the boards even looked like they had any issues. This is very much worth the money.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Twin Bed:

We have an autistic child. He hated his full mattress and refused to sleep in it. While browsing online for a bed that would also enclose him or make him comfortable in a cave-like setting, we decided to try it. He was in the room with us when we put it together. He was so excited. We thought he would want to sleep underneath it, but he was so excited about it, that he has slept in it everynight since! It has lasted us almost 3 years now and it is just as sturdy as the first day we bought it. (It can easily hold an adult in the bed with the child too.)

There should be an extra slat or two though to support it, as he has jumped on the mattress enough to have the end fall push through some. (Trust me, he gives this bed a full workout!)

Also, for boys or girls with a great imagination, this bed is the right height to hang onto ceiling fans, open windows, pull down things from their walls or make flying leaps out of. It has definitely lasted longer than many other items we have had, wish all of our stuff was this durable!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Twin Bed:

This bed was very easy for me to assemble, my son even helped! We did find that we couldn't use a box springs; it elevated the mattress too much for a 2 1/2 yr old. So we just cut a piece of plywood for extra support. He has recently fallen in love with the space underneath and that is where he now naps.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Twin Bed:

This bed is a great transition from the crib to a "big kid" bed. We did not buy a box spring but instead a "bunkie board" and it works great. I agree with other reviewers - it is very big and takes up a lot of space. I would also love to see some different color options. However, both of my sons love to play under the bed and on top of it and I never worry about them falling out. It is a great bed, it is very sturdy and it was a breeze to assemble. I highly recommend this product!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Twin Bed:

I came accross this bed online while searching for an affordable but stylish bed for my 2-year old. I was a bit concerned about the sturdiness of the plastic, just going off online descriptions. I was able to find a local vendor who confirmed what reviews said, about it being sturdy. They were right. The bed is very sturdy, and very easy to assemble. We are using it with a bunkie board and about a 10" mattress, and that's the perfect height with the ladder and side rails. My 2-year old loves his "big boy" bed, and his older brothers love the "fort" underneath (mom & dad love the storage). This is the coolest bed I've seen for a child, and so far, has been everything we expected and more.

Bought this bed for my 3 year old son, he loves it. He loves that he can play underneath of it with his toys. I would buy box springs I don't think there would as much support if you didn't. Don't let looks fool you this bed is huge and very tall. But we love it, would reconsider though if you have a small room to put it in!

We bought this bed for our 6 year old and our 2 year old girls. They love the beds because they can play under them and climb up into the beds. We love them because we can use the underneath for storage!!! These beds are perfect for kids and having them made in the USA is just icing on the cake!!

We bought 2 of these beds for our 3 year old twin sons!! They are fantastic. They love climbing up into them at night and we have added bed tents which makes it that much more fun for them. They love crawling through the "tunnels"...under the bed. They were a lot taller than we thought, but the boys love them and thats all that matters to us.

It is a great second bed for our son who has special needs. He loves it. We are using it without box spring to start so the sides are higher. It is a bit hard to change the sheets. but other than that we love it.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Twin Bed:

I love this bed. My only downfall is that I thought it would be smaller than it was. The woman in the picture must be like 6' tall or something, because this bed comes up to my chest and I am 5'5". Other than that my two year old loves it. The storage underneath is great. I have room to put boxes of toys and he can still play under there. I would buy this bed again in a heart beat!!!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Twin Bed:

This bed has been great for transitioning our 2 year old out of the crib. I was surprised by how much storage space there is and how high the sides are. He can't fall out in the night and loves climbing to get in. There is tons of room for toys with room left over for him to use as a fort. He loves to play under there. My husband was able to put it together easily. We couldn't be happier with the bed!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Twin Bed:

The high sides are great for toddlers who are transitioning out of the crib. My son loves climbing to get in and out. He also loves to play/hide underneath it. The storage area is much larger than I origianlly thought it was going to be. It has tons of room for storage bins and still has room to be a fort. We couldn't be happier with it!

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Twin Bed:

I bought my twins each one of these beds. They really like them, especially the storage area underneat. However, I found some of the predrilled holes very difficult to get the pegs through. I actually had to drill the hole bigger, which was very difficult to do. Also, I think there should be more support for the mattress. Mostly, the bed is great and I would recommend it.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Twin Bed:

We bought this bed for our 6 year old son. He absolutely loves it. He loves that he has to climb into it and the play area underneath. My husband put the handles on the inside to make it easy for him to close the doors. I wish they had a light underneath - my only complaint.

Comments about Step2 LifeStyle Twin Bed:

I love this bed, I switched my 18 month old to this bed because the crib was killing my back, I'm happy that the sides are high so he can't fall out and I love the underneath storage it makes so much sense! I do wish that the inside walls of the bed were a little softer, (although I don't know how that could happen), it's a little rough, my son (now 2yrs) has never complained...just me. He loves the ladder and I'm glad he can't easily hop off of the bed in the middle of the night like I hear of so many other kids doing. I would recommend this bed to others. Also I thought I'd mention that all of the kids who have seen this bed want it, including an 8 year old boy, so I don't think my son we be outgrowing it any time soon, good to know!
