The product is great because you can not only use it as a train table (and the tracks stay in place) but you can put the lid on it and use it as a table to build puzzles, play games on, or use as a table for entertainment.

I do wish this table was a bit taller so that when the cover is on, the chairs fit under them. Although we bought the chairs separately, I would think that there would be some design agreement across the products. Plus, the bottom of the table and chairs can scratch a wood floor. All in all, my kids love it.

I am having a bit of a love/hate relationship with this table! I loved it from the first time I saw it on this website, and my kids love to play with cars, so I knew it would be an instant hit. The assembly was fairly easy, and the stickers add so much color and depth--they really make the thing "pop!" My only complaint is with the fasteners for the bridges (see below). I love every other aspect of this table, but for the cost of this product, I really wish they had used a better fastener.

My son was given this toy for Christmas. He is 2 years old and loved it although I must say he wants to sit in it rather than stand to play. My nephew who is 3 years old will play with it much longer than my 2 year old. They love that you can use cars and trains on the tracks. I do wish there were more objects for the set to buy like trees or bridges or people but it is a great basic playset and I love that it has a hard cover so that it may be used to put other toys on when the kids aren't using it.

Bought this for my 3 1/2-year-old grandson's Christmas present. It has met all my expectations. Construction took less than 15 minutes with most of that time spent applying the decals. Trent keeps coming back to the table to play with it - even with all the other new toys. He has used it with the cover on to assemble his puzzles and to play with is other new toys.

I bought this a few weeks ago as a together gift for my sons' birthdays and it has been their favorite toy yet. They turned 3 and 4 and have barely stopped playing with it since. Like others said, there were no screw holes, but I was able to easily put it together with only a screwdriver and I'm not very strong. Both my kids have sat on it and played very rough with it and it hasn't even looked like it was going to break. My oldest drags it from room to room and even wanted to sleep next to it the day he got it. I highly recommend this to anyone with kids girls or boys. My nieces who are a little older even like it. I looked at several other train tables and read review after review before deciding to purchase this table and I am so happy that I did get this one. I have even caught my husband playing with it numerous times with the boys. I could go on and on about this table. One thing I do recommend is putting the stickers on before screwing the tracks in. We did that and I think it would've been much harder to do if we hadn't done that.

Gave this to my three year old grandchild as a birthday gift. He loves it! His 2 year old sister also is enjoying it. The two year old immediately sat in it. Table is very sturdy & fun. Recommended age is over 3+ but we bought it for our sons 2nd B-day and don't see any issues with the exception of the parts on the cars and trains possible being too small. Quality of the accessories could be better for [$].

My grandson is 3 years old and loves cars and trains, he has an older brother who is 5 and a sister who is 1, and they all love this toy. It is well constucted and easy to assemble. Some of the stickers were not long enough but we made it work and they were playing with the cars while we were putting the whole thing together and have continued to play with it ever since. My grandson uses both the train section and loves the top for building blocks. He has since turned the top in to his "kitchen" preparing his favorite "fried organes."

This toy is great! I would definitely recommend it and would buy it again. I have two boys, ages 4 and 2. We just gave it to our 2-yr-old for his birthday. He loves it! They both haven't stopped playing with it. It fits the small die cast Thomas trains and matchbox cars perfectly. We got this table for our grandson when he was

I was excited to receive this item since my 18 month old is constantly picking up the track on his other sets. I liked the idea of the tracks being molded in. Having said that, I had to remove some of the bridges because he couldn't get his hand under them to move the cars/trains easily and he got frustrated. We have hardwood floors and whenever he leans on it it slides across the floor very easily. Would be much better on (thick) carpet as it slides easily on the rug as well.

Set-up....that was NOT pretty. The holes for the screws are NOT pre-drilled so you HAVE to have an electric screw driver to put this together. Then there are tons of decals that you need to attach for the roads. It took forever. Then if you attach them wrong and pull them back up, the edges start peeling. Would have been nice if the decals, details were aleady in place.

I'm hoping he is going to love this more when he gets a little older.

It's a good invesment, I have two kids one is 4 years old and 2 years old. We bougth it for my younger son and He loves to play with trains, and I used the table option for art or coloring. It's useful, well made and ligth weight.

We bought this for our 2 year old son and his daycare buddies to play with. Thay love it! Hours of play have already happened and we have only had it for a month. This table perfect for hot wheels and other such cars. The one thing I wish it had was a latching lid, so that I could close it down when they are finished.

My 21 month old grandson enjoys the train track and especially likes to use matchbox cars on this track. The cover makes an ideal place to build with small blocks and imagine garages, skyscrapers, etc. We have even used the lid as a fun hide away to get behind and play BOO! We wanted to get our 2 yr old a train table for his birthday and had a tough time deciding. He loves Thomas and has a lot of the wooden tracks and trains, but he also loves his Matchbox/Hot wheels, etc. And I hate having to put the track together over and over and over for him to have any fun, just so he can destroy it again. This solves that problem by being ready to play with first thing in the morning. It fits all the Thomas/Brio/Hot Wheels/Matchbox-sized vehicles perfectly and has lots of hills to play on. The table top is sturdy, and we can use it to build his wooden tracks on if we're up for it. It's great to play on top of, and we even use it for our coffee table since it's in our living room at the moment.

Can't say enough good about this one!

The versatility of this table is great. I love items that multi-task. The table is durable and was so easy to assemble. My son was a bit disappointed that the bridges didn't move. I think he was hoping for more of a draw bridge effect. But he didn't seem to mind too much. It's very light, large, but that allows for tons of roads. Do wish the roads were a big wider which would allow for more types of cars to be used on the roads (matchbox size work fine, just some of the Disney Cars are too big)

My 16-mo. old doesn't play too much with the Road & Train Track yet, but with the top cover that comes with it, we use this in our family room as a safe "coffee table". No sharp edges and toys at eye level for him to play. He loves it and it will grow with him!

I have purchased six Step 2 products in the past year and have been extremely happy with all of them. However, this is by far the BEST of all. I operate a preschool with six prekindergarten (4-5 year old) children and both boys and girls love playing with this car table. They enjoy making roads underneath it with wooden train tracks too. The car table is in constant use all day long. During center activities, we put the lid on it and use it for our puzzle center. This is great for several reasons!! The track doesn't fall apart whith the ruff hands of my boys AND it is housed in a play table that they use all the time too. The Boys are 3 and 6 and they have friends their age that like to play with the train too.

This train table is so versitle. Our son can use trains, cars or anything that fits on the track. I can put the table top back on and then use it for a play table. The train comes with two very very large pages of stickers that you have to put in place. It is very easy to mess up so make sure you have good lighting when you place the stickers on the table.

I got this for my grandsons who are 3 & 2 1/2 they play with it for hours. It is plenty big for them to play together or by themselves. The lid is great for other activities.

This table is sturdy and easy to assemble except for the decals which are a pain.

We bought it for my 2 1/2 year old grandson who lives with us. We bought it to replace a popular wooden train table. We got rid of the wooden train table because he kept taking that wooden train track and all the buildings apart and off the table.

He doesn't play with the Step 2 table much because it's difficult for him to use because the roads go under overpasses and it's a tight fit for him to get to them.

Also the roads and tracks are so narrow that about 50% o his little cars are too wide to fit on the tracks and roads. The top is sturdy but bulky, cumbersome and very heavy. We put it in another room just so my grandson can't get ahold of it and won't get hurt by it. We're not going to get any use out of the top. It's a waste.

The Step 2 table isn't much fun. If I had known my grandson's cars wouldn't fit on the tracks I wouldn't have bought it. And so for the little use it's getting, it was way over priced.

This train table is GREAT! My son plays with it everyday in both realistic and imaginative scenarios. We use train sets, die-cast cars & planes, dinosaurs, farm animals....you name it he's played with it on this table! The underpasses are different heights which give great problem solving practice for determining specific routes for specific vehicles and figures. With the lid on the table, he has a perfect, easy to clean surface to color with markers & crayons, building with building blocks, work puzzles, and play play-dough. The lid does not appear to be sturdy, but it’s appearance is deceiving! My son turned it into a disco stage just 2 nights ago when he took advantage of my being out of the room to turn on the music & dance on top of it! (He's a 35 pound toddler!)As an added bonus, it holds a ton of toys under the lid making for a quick clean-up and neat looking storage when guests arrive! This train table has FAR exceeded my expectations and I would HIGHLY recommend it's purchase to anyone!

This was a great choice, its colorful easy to assemble, sturdy, and versatile. I have 3 boys, they climb on it, sit on it, eat on it, drive cars, and trains and play with little animals on this thing, They eat cereal , drop crumbs everywhere and its still intact. Easy to clean up. the only annoying thing is the lid, I wish it could just slide in on the bottom somewhere,and that they had little drawers under neath to store the cars, and maybe some crayons and some books but for [$] you can't beat it, they just love it, and use it at least once per day but usually more like 3 times a day, I keep the cars, trains and animals inside and just close them up inside the table LOL. definately worth the money.

I was very excited when I ordered this table for my 2-year old son for Christmas. It was bigger than I expected, which was a nice surprise. Assembly was very easy. I do recommend using a power drill and a hammer; made it a little easier. There was hardly anything to put together but a few tracks and the table legs. Putting on the stickers took only about 15 minutes and was easy. I love the molded-in tracks. No re-setting makes it a great toy that is always ready to be played with. The height is perfect. My son can reach everything with no problems. He plays with this all day, everyday! It has been a huge hit with other kids that have come over as well. Even the older kids have enjoyed it! Overall, a great toy!

I did a lot of research and looked at all of the different train tables before I bought this, and I am convinced that this is simply the best out there.
My boys LOVE it! They got dozens of gifts, but their train table was played with for hours on end. I am so happy with it.
The best thing is that everything is attached and there are no pieces of track to come apart or get scattered all over the place. I don't have to constantly reassemble it for them, which would be frustrating to my kids, and me.
The only thing I would suggest to anyone is applying the decals first, before you assemble the bridges or you'll be maneuvering around them when you try to put the decals on. There are also a lot of them and it does take a few minutes to get them all on correctly...other than that, A++ this was a piece of cake to put together and well worth every penny we spent on it. I might pick up another one for my niece's birthday.

This was a great purchase for our daycare - our ages range from infants to 12 years - the children love it - yes the stickers were a tish difficult but the kids love to use their own trains (Thomas trains) and matchbox cars and at the end of the day when all the daycare kids are gone - the lid goes on and it is used as our coffee table! This toy would be fine as a first train table for a very young toddler, but my 3 and 4 year olds were bored as soon as we were done assembling it. There is no actual track, only a million decals (that are a pain to stick in the proper places). So, if your child enjoys playing with trains that go on a wooden track, forget it. On the upside, the track pieces are not all over the playroom like our previous train table. The lid can cover the train part and makes a decent table for drawing, eating, etc....

Bought this for my son for his 3rd birthday. Had considered it off and on for about a year, but finally decided to spend the money on this train table. As opposed to the others I'd seen on the market, I liked this one because of the built-in track (no track parts to get lost around the house). What I didnt expect was that it was made to fit most of the major train sets (like Thomas) PLUS the major small cars (like Matchbox etc). My son ~ and all of his playdate friends ~ have thoroughly enjoyed it! We have gotten a lot of use out of it as a regular toddler table as well by putting the sturdy white top on.

Overall... I would definitely recommend this to anyone with kids who love trains and cars! They'll enjoy endless hours of playtime with it.

Purchased this for my sons 2nd birthday. Chose it because he is into the "destroy and knock over" phase, so the fact that the tracks and roads are built in means no parts all over or parts to keep track of-which is great! Downside is that I can definately see that he will probably get board of it over the next year (or less) and we will need to graduate to a real train table. Great fun at the get go, but the boys got bored with it fast, as there are limited ways to drive on the track. So they play with it when a friend comes over that is in "awe" still. But then it get ignored. It is very well made and good fun for special times, if you can save if for once a month/quarter type play time. The cars that come with it are a joke - their were 3 in our package but only one came with all the doors. I didn't bother calling as their are definitely 'low end' even if they came with all the doors and replaced them with alternative cars. Overall, a good product (table) and good fun for a limited time.

I use this to amuse a 3 year old. The openness of the "tunnels" allows cars to fall through to floor. The sides of the legs are sharp and pliable; the legs on the sand and water table are much sturdier. I have an 8 month old grandson who can pull off the roads that are riveted on. It does not accomodate geotrax trains. All in all though, the children like it.

It's nice to have a train table that doesn't fall apart like traditional tables. The track is built into the table and I love the vibrant colors used on the stickers to create a colorful toy.

This product is a wonderful for our 4 grandchildren. The twins(18 months) and another at 18 months love to sit in the table and play with the trains and cars. The 4 year old has as much fun and they all like to play together in or out of the table. Great product and enables all to use their imagination.

I think my twin 1 1/2 year olds are too young for this and my 3 year old is semi-interested in it. I think it is great, b/c they rip apart our train tracks from another set and they can't with this one.

This is the ONLY train table I will own it is so wonderful!! I bought it when my son was 18 months old. He is now 3 and plays with it every day. All of the small cars fit on it. He has a million of these cars and loves to play with them. I haven't tried any other trains, but he loves the train that comes with the tracks!!! My favorite thing about this table and why I love it so much is the cover!!! I can put ALL of his cars in the table and put the top on and it is a nice clean surface and my son can sit on the floor and use it as a coloring spot. I also love how the tracks are permanant so unlike my friends house, I don't have tracks ALL OVER!! Great toy and one you won't want to live without!

We bought this for our son recently and he just loves it. We finally settled on this one after checking out all the other train/car tables that are out there. We chose this one because step 2 is so durable as opposed to all the wooden train tables that are out there. Wood is so easy to scratch up and get stains on. This sits right in the middle of his room and as soon as he gets up in the morning he wants to get his cars out and play on his table. This table is great because of the lid that makes this useful for coloring and setting his other toys up on to play with too. This fits everything from thomas the train to hot wheels on the roads and tracks. My son is two but this is the first toy my nine year old niece runs to when she comes over as well, so i see this toy getting years of use by my son and since it is step 2 i know it will stay in great shape.

After reading numerous reviews on the website, I bought this toy for my grandson's 2nd birthday and he absolutely loves it. I particularly liked seeing he could use different brands of cars/trucks/trains, everything could be stored inside the toy and the table doubles as a place to eat snacks, doodle on, etc.
