Taking grandson on walks and to the pool. The handle was difficult to install and the door had to be worked quite a few times before he was able to open it. He still likes just to climb in.

rumble wagon too rumbly
By outsidemom from british columbia, canada on 7/9/2008
Pros:
Safety straps
Cons:
Too loud
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This wagon is so loud on the pavement with its plastic tires! Good luck talking to your child or even hearing yourself think. A nice relaxing walk becomes irritating dragging this wagon behind you. I would recommend buying a higher quality wagon with rubber tires. I rarely use it anymore, it has become an expensive toy box in the garage.

Great Wagon, BUT wheels are awful

Great size wagon, light and easily fits in car trunk. Could use more storage space for snacks. Also, wheels are horrible; don't turn easily and when they do turn, wheels don't straighten up. Do you have any alternative wheels that we can use instead? I would hate to return the wagon.

I am purchasing a second Step 2 for my youngest grand daughter. I bought the first one at a yard sale for [$] about 10 years ago. Who knows how old it was then. It was used by the 2 older grand kids and now by the youngest one but it finally gave out. An older much larger person got into it and one of the wheels bent. This was not a defect. All three girls love that wagon and now it needs replaced.

I knew this wagon had front axle issues before I even put my kids in it. I constantly find myself having to make sure that the front wheels are in the right position before we take off. And going backwards...forget it. Not a good idea. Will definitely do a little better research before I ever by another wagon from this brand.

Easy To Assemble
Cons:
Flimsy
Best Uses:

The design of the front axles is poor. The wheels do not align properly causing the wheels to drag rather than roll freely. Bought this as a birthday present for my three year old daughter. She has great fun pulling her dollies in it but once she is in it the added weight causes the problem with the wheels.

Step2 Response: If you need further assistance with the wheels, our Customer Service staff may be able to assist you further. We can be reached directly at 800-347-8372.

love wagon but could use a wagon cover

I really love this wagon, it's so durable. My 3 year old loves pulling her little sister in it. The only negative thing I have to say is that I can't find a cover for it. We have to keep it stored outside and it kills me to have it rained on, and lately snowed on. I may look for an alternative cover but it would look nicer and fit better if one was actually made for this wagon.

Poor Wheel/Axle Design
By Malcontent Mom from Lindsay, ON, Canada on 4/5/2008
Pros:
Lightweight, Roomy
Cons:
Difficult To Assemble, Flimsy, Poor wheelaxle design
Describe Yourself:
First Time Parent
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I am extremely disappointed! My son received this wagon as a gift. My husband put it together today and right away we discovered that the front wheels do not track well. After the wagon turns a corner the wheels do not straighten back out. They will just drag sideways unless I use my hand or foot to re-align them. Also, the one front wheel seems to be slightly wobbly and bends outward. We never even got it out of the driveway. I will be returning this wagon tomorrow. I am also disappointed all the Step 2 wagons except for the Choo Choo have the same front axle design. The front wheels would function much better if they, and the handle were all attached to a single axle.

My children love the wagon and would love to go for walks everyday. We have only had the wagon for less than a month and it is already deteriorating. The nut came off that holds the bolt in place that holds the handle on. Now the front left wheel is wobbling like an old shopping cart wheel. I am afraid to take the kids out now for fear that it will fall off! I thought from the reviews on here that this product would be much better than it actually was. i am disappointed with this product.

I am impressed with how the wagon it is built and how easy it turns. It lets children sit up comfortably while safely being strapped in their seat.

The STEP2 wagon is perfect for my two grandsons and I will definitely purchase another age-appropriate STEP2 product for them.

I wish the description provided it states the wheels are made of plastic, and I wish they were made of rubber. Eventhough, still is a great product.

I bought this wagon for my husband to take my grandchildren for a walk. He loves it because it is easy to pull and it does not hurt his neck. The handle is a nice length so his shoulders don't bother him. My grandchildren love it because it holds their drinks and they can look around, that a stroller won't let them. I do wish we could buy a roof to add to it. We live in the dessert and in the summer is very hot and a roof to cover the kids would be nice. Have you thought of selling a roof you can add to the wagon.

Step2 Response: We have another Ride-On that might suit your needs. It's called the Safari Wagon and includes a detachable plastic canopy for shade.

I actually ordered the Wagon for Two, but was sent this by mistake. I am so glad I got this one. I can fit this one into the trunk of my Camry, I don't think I could have fit the Wagon for two in there. My daughter loves to ride around or just sit in it. I do wish that it had a three point harness instead of just an around the waist belt.

Our daughter was given this wagon for her 1st Birthday and she loves it. She likes going for rides and also finds it sturdy enough to assist her to walk around the outside of it. This is a great product, I just wish I knew if we could somehow attach an umbrella?
