We originally bought this for gardening but now my husband & I both have bad knees & sometimes get down on the floor to do something & can't get up without it. We have had it for 16 or 17 years & have used it so many times the foam is gone but it's good anyway because my husband is 300 lbs. & it still helps him get up when he needs to. If anything happened to it, we would run right out & get another one because we need one often.

I bought one for my dad years ago. He's now 88 and uses it every day during the summer. It makes all the difference for him being able to get up and down from his knees. It is great for me to work planting, weeding, because I can use the sides to get up and down with, and kneel on the foam while I am working to protect my knees. We bought one and both like it that we decided to buy a second one.

This is the second Step2 that I have purchased. This second one is for my mother (age 88) who still loves to garden, but has trouble getting up when she is kneeling on the ground. With the light weight construction, she can easily take it into the garden to use. She can lift herself up by herself and does not have to depend on one of us to be around.

This is a very sturdy seat. It easily supports my husband who is close to 300#. The kneeling pad has very small velcro strips to hold it on underneath when it is in "seat mode" and ours fell off. You might be able to correct with larger velcro strips, but we are going to use only as a seat anyway, so just left it off.

I have had my original kneeler for so many years I can't remember when I bought it. My husband uses it when he washes his car and now I have my second one so I have one for the front yard and the back yard. I really love it.

I used it to sit on when planting flowers in pots. I put the stool on the lower deck and the pots up on the next step. Easy to reach without bending over too far. The stool is a perfect height also for non-gardening tasks and you feel quite stable when reaching.
The kneeler part makes it easy to get up off your knees.
Easy to carry around and just sit down in the garden somewhere for a break. An extra seat!
Wait until my husband discovers how useful it is for fix-it jobs, we'll need 2.

I got one many years ago when it first came out. I got one for my 93 year old dad who still gardens but was having a hard time getting up and down. (especially up) from the ground and the hard ground hurt his knees. I loves it, too! I also ordered me a new one, but am still using the old one. This is our second one. The first, 6 years old, is still fine but a housepainter used it as a ladder and got paint on it. Still works fine, just looks awful. We needed a second one anyway. We use them all the time. Kneeling is easy, sitting is comfortable, just the right height and makes an excellent extra seat or table when camping. Very sturdy.

I used to kneel with my gardening. I injured my one knee, had two knee surgeries, and cannot kneel easily nor for long. The Step2 Garden Seat is perfect for me! I bought two, one for me and one for my 92 year old dad who still gardens. I replaced one I've had for over fifteen years. Loved it, but the kneeling cushion finally rotted from weather. (probably wouldn't have if I would of stored it inside more) I had actually inserted a [$]store kneeling cushion so I could still use it. But this new one is better looking and the handles are no longer wooden. Gentle on the knees and back for us all day gardeners!!

This bench saves my back and knees when I'm gardening, and I also use it indoors when I'm taping and painting. I'd give it 5 stars, but it bugs me that the pad falls out so easily when it's in the bench position. I can live with that, though.

The Garden Kneeler is sturdy. No fear that it will collapse like the folding type. You can leave it out in the rain or sun. Use it as an extra seat. Easy to carry from place to place. The velcro came off the bottom cushion at first, but a drop of Gorilla glue has kept the velcro doing its job perfectly for over a year. This Kneeler was a gift from my brother and I thank him every time I use it!

I absolutely love this bench. It's the perfect height for sitting. I use mine to sit on when picking back my flowers that I have in barrels. Also, I can't kneel down, so to sit and weed works great too. Love it!

Because of previous surgery to one leg, and a torn meniscus in the other knee, it is difficult to get down to a kneeling position to work with planting. It is even more difficult getting up from that position. The Step2 Garden Kneeler is perfect for this and allows me the dignity of rising to standing without struggling.

My dad has had both knees and both hips surgically replaced. This bench helps him get up from kneeling by using it upside down, or on his knees (bench is upright, and his belly is on it, and he's leaning over it), working in the garden, scrubbing floors, picking up small things off the floor (spilled nail, screws, etc). He bought his first one 5 yrs ago or so, and when I found it's still available, I bought two more so he has an indoor and outdoor one. Well worth the money as a gift for those with special needs around the house or yard..he would not be able to have the same freedom and comfort without it!

My only comment to improve the product would be to mark the side you kneel on, so that you do not accidentally kneel on the wrong side (which is raised and very uncomfortable when you kneel down on it). I've put stickers on the kneeling side so I don't make this mistake. My husband and I love the kneeler. We have two in the garden and one in the house.

Love the design and the durability. However, the cushion Velcro pieces were the same on seat and cushion and did not cling. Seat fell off and yardman ran over it with lawnmower before I noticed it.
