Love love love this box! If you're going to make an investment as a homeowner in a mailbox ... get this box.
This is, by far the best mailbox out there!!
I have had my, almost eleven year old box, run over three times. The first time was by my Ex as he was rushing to work. The box wasn't even scratched! The second time was by the UPS guy three Christmases ago and again ... not a scratch!! The last time the box was hit the 4x4 timber in the ground snapped because of the rotting/termites.
The only complaints I have about this box is that it was hit by a plow and the door was ripped off never to be seen again. One day out on our motorcycle someone was tossing one of these mailboxes out in the trash so we asked and took their two doors. We got home and popped one of the new/used doors on ... works like a charm and now we have an extra door, just encase!!! We were lucky!!! Please off the doors separate for sale ... gods forbid we need a new one after another plow accident!!!!

I have replaced several of these in the last couple of years due to punks hitting them with bats. They don't flex...once hit, they tear like a piece of paper. If you are lucky the top will pop off and you can put it back on, but on all of mine the base tore like a paper sack and it can't be fixed. For those of you who claim your newspaper gets wet, tell your carrier to put it in a plastic bag....DUH!!!

I just bought this mailbox on Saturday and my husband put it up right away. Easy to assemble. Looks great. Love the fact that it has two doors to get the mail from. It will be great not having to step in the road to get my mail. Would recommend this to all my friends.

Mailbox is 2 years old and is withstanding the elements well. It got vandalized last week and the only thing that they could break was the flag and the front door! They ripped it out of the ground and it still was intact. I put it back in the ground and it still looks great. I just need the 2 parts that got broken.

Soon after we installed the mailbox the back-stop for the newspaper compartment disappeared. We have had to cancel our paper because most days the paper is wet, covered in snow or just plain blowing down the road. I walked around the neighborhood and noticed quite a few residences have the same mailbox...and the same problem.

I just bought this mailbox about 7 hours ago. When I brought it home, I was upset to learn that it was harder than I expected to assemble ( I am a single mom). Required more handy work than the box states. Thank goodness I have a wonderful neighbor who came over with his tools and helped me assemble the entire mailbox. I can't wait for mail delivery on Monday to test out the new box!!!!

Our Mailbox is going on 7 years in the snowbelt. We have had over 180 inches of snow in a season, and the mailbox has held up against the snowplows and the giant snow blowers they bring down the road to cut back the 7 ft snow banks. We have lost the flag once, and this year we lost the back paper flap (not sure if this is a proper description) and the mailbox still looks almost new. This is a great product. I would not think twice, when the time comes, to buy the same product as a replacement.

I was very happy I could get the mailbox in the spruce color. Your competitor seems to have discontinued the green color. I am not that saavy when ordering items online, but your website made it very easy to order.

Mail box has stood up against the weather except when the snowplow comes by and it gets completely packed with snow due to wind blowing and causing the doors to pop open. The force of the plowed snow snapped the flag off and some of the neighborhood dogs seem to enjoy using my mailbox also.

If you buy this because you live in a snowy area and think it is sturdy enough to withstand a snowplow- guess again! Ours has been taken out too many times to count and is currently being held together w/ metal straps and wire! Will replace it with something cheaper in the spring. Bought this one after our cheap one was destroyed the first winter and figured this would fair better! Wrong! I know there is no claim from the company to the effect it could stand up to a snowplow, but the sturdy appearance would make you think so! (According to our highway dept. the plow never actually hits the mailbox- it's the force of the snow!)

After each snow storm the top comes off from the plows snow. On my street the same boxes and they all are off and broken. For northeast conditions the top needs to be fastened to the bottom better not with plastic screws. I liked this box but don't think I will buy a new one.

The ridge on the side of the box extends aroulnd the bottom edge making it imposiable to make a good seal with the bottom half. Because of this the door on the newspaper receiver doen not stay in place.

Overall I'm very pleased, but there are two aggravating things about this mailbox. During heavy rain, the mail will get wet. Also, living in New England, when the snow plows come, the snow will actually knock the door off of the unit, and of course you can't find it again, nor can you order another door. I have to buy another mailbox just to replace the door... :(

Last night some kids decided to bash mailboxes to start the school year. One neighbor’s mailbox was completely caved in. The other was knocked off the post. My mailbox faired much better. Great mailbox, had it for over a year. Lost the little flap in the back that covers the newspaper box underneath in wind storm. Called customer service and they shipped two (an extra flap just in case) to me at no charge. Best customer service I've EVER dealt with.

Thank you for making the best mailbox in a new fashion color. We replaced our Spruce MailMaster Plus with the new Walnut model which blends in with our house colors so much better. I purchased this mailbox from a local retailer in my home area, got it home and was very excited to replace my existing mailbox with this nice new one from Step 2, I open the box and sort out all the parts. Hmm what seems to be missing here? No hole was ever made in the side for a mail notice flag and one was never installed. Very unhappy if were gonna stamp stuff with USA on the label at least make sure its completed.

We've purchased our mailbox over 7 years ago, and its yet standing. This is the best quality mailbox on the market. We never have to worry abour rust.

Talk about takes a lickin and keeps on tickin. This poor mailbox has been the target of mailbox baseball and a raged motorist. Recently my mailbox was run down by some poor excuse of a driver. My wife noticed it and picked it up about 30 feet down the road. The only think missing was the lid. I think they stole it for a momento. Anyway my mailbox still looks new after 3 years and 2 lids later. Thanks Step2 for building a durable mailbox!!!!!!!!!

I had been wanting to get this type of mailbox for some time. The green color matches the shutters on my house perfectly. We have trouble with people vandalizing the mailboxes in our neighborhood with baseball bats. I hope that this mailbox will fare better than the other mailbox we had.

The gray thing that is to put in the back of the newspaper is unclear. I concluded that it does not fit. It is too wide. So, I had to reduce its width with my grinder. The nothch that holds it in does not hold it in place. Today I found it a block away due to the wind. What do you want me to do? I purchased it from Lowes only day ago.[@]

The only con about this fine mailbox is that you have to keep putting new numbers on the box. I have replaced mine a couple of times. If they can come up with numbers that last, this mailbox will be perfect.

This is the mailbox that I recommend to all my customers. Over the years, I have installed hundreds of mailboxes and this model is far and away the best. Mounted on a 4x4 pressure treated post imbedded in cement, this baby is nearly indestructable.

The only reason this is my second one is the first one got taken out by a drunk - the top section was found four houses down, with the mail STILL in it. The bottom section became part of the cars grill. With a little effort I could have reused the mailbox. These are tough mailboxes. I put the mail minder in the second one and it alerts me everytime my mailbox is opened, or when it is bumped by my ditzy neighbor across the street backing out of her driveway since the unit in the mailbox is motion activated.

But what makes it even better is that vandals broke off my flag and even though I've had the mailbox for over 2 years, they sent me a new flag with mounting bolt "FREE OF CHARGE". I enjoy this mail box because has enough room to fit small boxes, mail and newspapers. It stands higher than standard mail boxes and is easy to access. Exterior very strong, no damages after months of rain, heat and cold weather. I would like to have an interior light to see mail at night. Needs better rain protection, mail will get slightly wet when it rains.

I love the mailbox! I had someone I know put it in for me and it seemed like an easy enough job. The only thing I'm not too crazy about is behind the newspaper section,the flap doesn't bolt in place so could be pushed out.

TOO SOON TO REALLY RATE IT AS I 'JUST' INSTALLED IT (WITH HELP OF GSON, SINCE I HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WOULD BE GETTING INTO). IT'S SIMPLE TO INSTALL ONCE YOU HAVE THE IDEA. This is my second Mailmaster Plus. The first one was shredded by the township's flail mower. The second one was recently clipped by a car. The top was tossed 20' away, but the only damage was slight scuffing of the box and bending of the two screws that mount the base to the post. I reassembled the unit, which looks about as good as new. I did order a replacement door, which disappeared into the brush. [...] Great mailhoxes!
