I was given a Pomeranian pup that insists on being cradled on his back in my arms. With this sling I can keep him happy and still work hands free!

Comments about Step2 SlingRider:

I loved how comfortable the SlingRider was for both me and my son! He has grown out of it now, but I am definitely going to pass it on so that another parent/child can get the great satisfaction from it that I did. I wish I would've have one of these with my first child! It was great to have with two children b/c it provided adequate support for my infant, so that I could tend to my other child while giving the baby the closeness and bonding that he needed. Fantastic!

I received this as a gift from my mother while I was pregnant. My son is now 5 weeks old and I just used it for the first time today while I was out grocery shopping. He LOVED it. He was fussy from the ride home until we arrived at the store and as soon as I put him in it, he went to sleep and slept the entire time I was shopping. I plan on using this sling til I can't use it anymore!!!

I am 4'9 very short. I have found that not only this particular carrier is hard to use when your a little person, every carrier Ihave come across is hard to use. Thisone actually was okay for the fir few months especially because my baby had tummy problems and it felt good to her tobe scrunched and so close to me. Overall it is a good product for the price.

Comments about Step2 SlingRider:

We used this sling from ages three weeks until five months. Our baby loved it, loved it, loved it. If she was fussy, especially when she was really young, it was the best thing to sooth her. She seemed to feel safe and comfortable in her sling as it simulated the womb. My husband used it while he watered the lawn, took the dogs for a walk or tooled around in the kitchen. Then we took it on vacation with us to Europe and took her everywhere, by bus, with no hassle...she usually fell asleep in her sling within minutes. My cousins in Ireland have asked me to send them one. We are bigger people 5'8" and 6 foot, so maybe that helped? We were so sad when she grew out of it because it was such a pleasure and bonding experience to use it.

Comments about Step2 SlingRider:

Took some getting used to, but the baby likes it. She's cozily, snuggled in the pouch. Only draw back, in the South Carolina summer, the baby is entirely covered (she's about 6 weeks, little over 8 pounds) in the pouch and got uncomfortable with the heat.

Don't buy this! Too big on me!!!
By Lizzie's mommyVerified Reviewer from Glen Allen, VA on 6/3/2008
Cons:
too big & uncomfortable

Comments about Step2 SlingRider:

I couldn't get this sling to fit me to save my life (or my back)!!! Even at its tightest, my baby was hanging below my waist, almost to my knees (I'm 5 foot 4). I couldn't take a step without my daughter bouncing on my thighs. My pediatrician saw me with it and almost fell over trying to get my daughter out of it. It hurt my back, felt all kinds of loose, and I didn't feel like my daughter was safe in it. I found another sling (much better sizing), and love it. I can't UN-recommend this sling enough!

NOT snug or secure-not safe for most!
By Will's mom from Richmond, VA on 5/27/2008
Cons:
Too big
Describe Yourself:
Parent
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Step2 SlingRider:

This sling is way too big for anyone over a size 6. The pouch hangs so low, I've even seen babies down at someone's knees! I would recommend any other sling but this one-get one that you can adjust better, or get one that actually fits you.

Comments about Step2 SlingRider:

I was at the store about to purchase another, more expensive sling when I bumped into my sister who highly recommended this sling instead. Since she raved about it I decided to purchase it (and save [$]!). I am SO glad I did! This sling is easy to put on, extremely comfortable, and nice looking. My baby absolutely loves being in the sling...I don't think I have ever had to take her out of it before I was ready to. She would stay in it all day if I let her! It doesn't give me any back or shoulder pains and it is pretty fashionable as well. I get a lot of compliments on it.
