I actually got mine second hand & would recommend it to everyone.

I had looked at it online, but was concerned that my 5 year old who happens to be very tall would not fit comfortably sitting at it. As luck would have it, I found one second hand & found that I had no worries-she fits just fine & still has room to grow (she's 49 inches tall, size of a 7 year old in case anyone needs a point of reference).

She loves having all her "stuff" in one place...and so does her mommy!

I love the rounded corners and the stability of this product. I bought it for the chair. My grandson is 18 months old and he does well with it. It is sturdy and it won't collapse on him. My 11 year old grand-daughter got this same product as a christmas gift at age 4. And she still has and uses the chair. It took me awhile to track down that it was a step2 product. It's the best chair for a younster out there. But I and the little guy are very happy with both. And my grand-daughter she's not ready to relinquish her chair either...it still looks new. Great product.

My daughter is 3 and absolutely loves this. It's small enough for her, yet big enough that she won't outgrow it too quickly. I love that the colors blend in at my house and aren't gaudy and bright like so many other plastic toys. Step 2 plastic feels so much thicker and durable than other plastics. Worth every penny.

I purchased this desk for my Granddaughter's 2nd birthday and she and her parents could not be happier with this product. She is a tall 2 year old and the height of the desk and chair are perfect for a toddler her size! The only drawback is the light. We wish that we had the ability to set it to remain lighted longer or until turned off - timmer setting is too short.She really loves her desk and I am told she uses it daily! I,ve been looking for the perfect desk for my two year old who loves to color and draw. This desk is perfect. It has plenty of storage pockets for all of her crayons, markers, coloring pencils, and more. The side bins are alot bigger than they look and now hold all of her coloring and sticker books. The dry erase board is great so that if she slips I can just wipe it clean unlike a wooden desk. Its the perfect size for her and will grow with her for at least 4 more years. Now mommy can have her desk back for school work. lol.

Purchased for my daughter's 2nd birthday. We were a little concerned it may be too big, she is very petite. She LOVES it! I must admit the crayons stray off the paper at times but she hasn't made a mark we haven't been able to VERY easily clean with wet paper towel or cleaning wipe. The storage is great and she loves the light so we purchased an adaptor at our local electronics store so we could plug it in and not need batteries. Another Step2 product we love!

My 19 month old daughter loves her desk. She really loves turning on and off the light. Lots of storage but she's not old enough to use the marker and crayon storage area just yet. She will grow into it. My only change would be to add some sort of clip at the top of the desk to hold her coloring pages in place. She has a lot of room for small and large coloring books but one page would keep her more focused but she out-smarted the scotch tape trick. Easy enough to assemble. We love this! Just bought for my 17 month old son. He climbs on it, and it doesn't wiggle or move! He is learning to sit in chair, but kneels in it for now! Chair is light enough for him to carry, but legs are set wide enough not to topple too easily when he begins to climb!

Was nervous about putting together after reading other reviews, as I only have manual screwdriver. It took me less than 35 minutes to put together. Took some elbow grease, but was easy! Pieces fit well, nothing but happy with both products I've gotten so far.

This is a perfect art/activity desk! It keeps things so organized and has lots of room for all sorts of artistry equipment. My daughter loves it! The only thing I noticed as a con: crayon marks don't come off the chair or desk very easily. I seem to have taken off some paint before I could get the crayon mark off, which was slightly disappointing. The chair has a rough texture and the crayon marks really stick to it.

Overall I really like the product. My one complaint is that the holes were not predrilled. It wasn't difficult to drill them, but it was a pain after being prepared to only screw in a few screws and not have to drill per the directions. My two year old daughter really enjoys it.

We got this for my 4 year old for his birthday and he loves it. I was tired of constantly taking out all his art stuff to the kitchen table. This keeps everything contained and is the perfect size for him. The only thing I don't like about it is that there are too many small, shallow places to put the art items. I got this desk for my two year old daughter. She was very impatient while waiting for us to put it together though because she wanted to play with it. She likes the light on the desk. She doesn't have alot of supplies for it yet since she's only two, but as she gets older, she will have lots of places to put her art supplies. She does like the spaces for books on each side of the desk and put her books there as soon as the desk was put together. This product is fairly easy to assemble, and very sturdy! It is larger than a lot of other "drawing desks" we looked at. Very worth the money as well. My son spends long periods of time drawing all of his favorite things, so this desk was perfect for him. He just turned 4, so this desk was not too small or too big for him. Bought 2 of these desks for my 5 and 6 year old boys. The desks were easy to assemble and have lots of storage. Both boys love the desks and spend a good amount of time coloring and sorting all their markers. I bought adapters[$] for the lights so I wouldn't have to worry about replacing batteries. One of the lights doesn't work but I plan to call Step 2 for a replacement. I would recommend this product to anyone trying to get their children away from their TV or computer games for awhile!

I wish I would have bought this sooner. We had trouble with my kids not wanting to play in thier room by themsleves. Our living room was a play room. With these new desks, they feel like big girls. There is a place below the writing surface to store thier child laptop. THere seems to be a place for everything. My daughters are fixing to turn 4 & 5 and it fits them just right BUT i think they will be able to use the desk for a few more years. I bought two so they would not fight and they each respect each others space. The only CON is the weak light. It really serves no purpose. BUT this is an easy fix and I am going to buy them lamps.

This is a great art/other desk. It is very durable like all Step2 products & best of all it is Made in America, not China. As my twins are not even two yet, so they can't really color & draw too much yet. They loved the desk. It has tons of compartments for everything. I like the fact that you can place them back to back so they don't try to take each others things. The size is great for their age (size) and they'll still fit in it for years to come, probably at least 5 or 6. My parents bought this for our 6 year old son for christmas. He loves it. It's the perfect size for him and he can store everything he needs for his projects in one area. Hi, I saw this desk and thought it would be perfect for my preschooler.[...] However, when it came to opening it up, I saw some things that caught my attention. There was a unremovable scratch on the white base surface and there was a dirty mark along the crease of the yellow/orange pen holder on top. Most importantly, when i tried to put the top half to connect to the bottom half, one side did not fit. I flipped it over and realized that the plastic was bented in a way that blocked the other part to enter. I managed to put some pressure on top to make it fit, but now there is a gap in the back. What is a buyer to do? Maybe it was just my luck.I still like the product despite its flaws.

The desk turned out great not to many peices to put together the bad thing was that not all the holes were pre drilled and so it was a little hard to get the screws through. We just gave this desk to our 22 month old grandson today for Christmas. I personally did a lot of research before purchasing. I have not been disappointed. The features are ones that will be used for many years: storage space for all supplies, a light to see everything, separate chair, easy to wipe off! We knew we wanted a separate chair. We figured he would have trouble getting in and out with the attached bench on some of these desks. The light was a big plus. There is not only a lift-up easy-wipe lid on the surface, but storage space directly under this area. There are little storage wells for markers, crayons, even those little round "beginnings" paints, crayons, and markers for toddlers. As you can tell, we are very, very pleased with this gift to our littlest grandchild!

We purchased this for our daughter's 2nd birthday. She saw me putting it together (very simple) after her nap and said "Whoa, Mommy!" She immediately grabbed the chair and sat down. I was concerned it would be too "old" for her at 2, but she loves it. She sits at it for 30 minutes at a time (which is forever in Toddler time) and scribbles on paper. She likes to pick up her crayons/markers and move them around to the different storage spots. I bought this desk for my 22 month old son for Xmas but couldn't wait so we gave it to him 2 months early! Setup was fast! My son is a big kid but is a bit small to sit at the desk still but that doesn't stop him from standing and coloring. He uses the chair at his train table, the chair is light enough to push around yet sturdy. He likes to turn the light on and off. And loves that he can put his markers and paper under the table lid. This is good for young kids and taller or older toddlers but younger toddlers can definatly grow into it, And can learn to put their books away in the side storage pockets.

The table cover was damaged and there were some screws missing and the light didn't work but Step2 replaced those with lightning speed and everything is good! There were also some rough seams that sanded off easily and quickly.

so all in all... Good price, very sturdy and durable, excellent customer service and any issues quickly resolved!

Although I agree with others that the attached light is very dim, we have this in a room where there's a big overheard light so it's not an issue for us. I bought the desk for the Step2 name, durability and storage, and we haven't been disappointed. Our four year old added an old computer mouse and keyboard to her desk, we keep her electronic learning games in the side pockets, and she now prefers to drag her desk chair (versus a kitchen chair) around. I bought this desk for my 5 yr old grandchild to use at my house when he started kindergarten. He loves to do art activities. I've always had him and his younger brother do them on a child's table which they can also eat at. This saved my planked dining table. However, the table had a cushioned top and he would not be able to write his homework well on it. Also all the art tools were kept in a layered toy storage cart. This kept the various crayons, markers, paints, etc hidden and hence often forgotten about. I decided to get him some kind of childs desk/table with a hard top that would allow him to do his homework and also organize his art materials. This is the only one that I found fit the most of the requirements. He loves it! It is always ready to go for any art he wants to do. He knows it is his place for home work. At this stage he doesn't need to also put a book on the desk. The only thing he hasn't tried is using it for play dough, and of course eating. The slanted desk would be the main problem there.

My son just loves his desk. He spends hours at it because everthing is right there. It is great too because everything has it's place and makes keeping it neat easier for a 3 year old. Lots of storage. A little tough to clean because of rough texture but a magic eraser does the trick usually. The only thing I do not like about this desk is the lift top. They should have made it from Hard plastic. It is made of some sort of fiber board or something and has a white laminated surface that scratches easily but I am sure I could fix it somehow. I LIKE THE DESK I GOT FOR MY 2 YO DAUGHTER. I LIKE THE MATERIAL BECAUSE IT'S WASHABLE. MY DAUGHTER COLORS ON THE DESK TOO, AND FOR ME IT'S EASY TO CLEAN. SHE ENJOYS PUTTING HER BOOKS AND PAPERS IN THE "DRAWERS" OF THE SIDES AND UNDER THE TOP. I'M VERY HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE.

This is a wonderful desk. It holds so many crayons and markers. It holds tons of coloring books. My daughter just turned four and loves it. She spends so long at her desk drawing us pictures. It is very durable. It has plenty of work space. The light is great. I looked all over for this desk and noone had anything even close to it. So I ordered it and it is the best cataloug order I have purchased in a long time. If my 4 year old is this thrilled than you know it's an EXCELLENT product!!

I bought this desk for my daughter who is 2.5 years old. She was very excited to see it and although she's still young, she is getting the hang of organizing her markers/crayons, playdough on the desk. She loves using stamps we have. And writing on the board. Most of all I think she likes the light that comes with it. It was easy to assemble... I think I surprised my husband. The only problem I had putting it together was the pre-drilled holes were not "pre-drilled" I could see where they were supposed to be, but we had to actually drill the holes. Other then that, it was a snap. My 11 month old has already discovered it and pulls himself up to reach whatever he can of his sisters. I think she's gonna have some competition with this desk!

I think it is over priced. This is the second one we have bought. Both desks were very dirty when we got them. The newest desk is not as good as the first desk. It is of poorer quality. The light did not attach to the desk very well and we need to reattach it on a regular basis. I would recommend if price was lowered.

My kids love this! We bought it when our oldest was 1. He is 3 now and still loves it. It has taken a lot of abuse from 3 kids including being jumped off of. It has had things smashed inside, colored all over and it still looks as good as it did the day we bought it.

This product is very sturdy with alot of places to store items for the kids. Its easy to clean and was simple to assemble. Even my teenage daughter sat at it to do her homework one day. My daycare kids love it and it keeps them more focused when working on a project.

One of my grandson's favorite activities is coloring. He thinks it's wonderful that he has his own area with a real working light! We color together and have lots of fun. Sometimes he doesn't always color on the color book or paper but it's no problem because it comes off so easily. What a great "big boy" product!

It really exceeded my expectations, children in general have a lot of toys. And of those toys generallya considerable amount end up being pushed to the side. This desk is not one of those, it is played with basically daily!!!!

My son likes to sit on top of it instead of in front of it.
The light didn't work when we received it but Step 2 sent us a new one right away. This desk is very durable considering my son treats it like a jungle gym. The only thing I don't like is that the textured surface is difficult to clean if crayon gets on it.

I bought this for my 4 year old granddaughter as a Christmas gift. She loves it. She uses it all the time for coloring/drawing. It is alot bigger than the previous desk she had so she has alot more room to store things (coloring books, crayons, pencils, paper, etc.). Great desk!! Worth the money.

This product was purchased as a Christmas gift for my 3 year old and he loves it. He feels he is all grown up like his 15 yrs old sister. He spends time alone writing and even trying to read his picture books. He is able to do his preschool assignments as he would in school. A++ all the way.

My 2 year old loves this desk. He pretends to be like his daddy and "work hard." He also loves to draw on the dry erase board provided. Beware though, if your little one misses and draws on the desk the marker is hard to remove from the desk surface. The color is great and bright. Plus, the light is fun to turn on and off even though it does not give out a lot of light.

My two year old loves this. I love the fact that he can draw all over the desk's white board and I can wipe it off. He uses it constantly. The only downside I can see is that if you have hardwood floors or floors with out carpet it slides. I put the desk up a against a wall to keep it from moving.
