Why has the design of this product changed?

Please note the design for the lid and the base was revised to remove the previous hinged mechanism due to changes in the ASTM F963 toy safety standard for USA.

The previous hinged unit did not comply with the new guidelines and regulations.

The lid now has two notches underneath and the toybox base has two bumps that the lid rests on to keep it on the base. The lid is removable and does not attach permanently.

It is recommended to remove lid when child is using toybox to place in another area.

The lid will slide into the area between the base and top about half way and stay in place but it is not permanent can be pulled back out with some force.
