Little Planter’s Fruit and Veggie Garden Craft

Do your kids love fruits and veggies? Are they showing an interest in gardening? If your kiddos have green thumbs they can start their own fruit and veggie garden with this craft. This creation will spark little ones’ imaginations and they can “grow” their garden inside their playroom or outside while you’re gardening. It’s also a great way to add to their toy food collection for their playroom.

Steps:

  1. Remove the tissue from the tissue box and cut off the top portion of the box.
  2. Cut out the stencils.
  3. Trace the fruit and vegetable stencils onto the foam sheets.
  4. Cut out the traced fruit and vegetables and tape the greenery onto the appropriate produce.
  5. Roll either brown or black foam sheets into tubes to represent the soil. To keep them together, tape and place them into the box. You may need to cut a little off each tube in order for them to fit into the tissue box.
  6. Place the fruit and vegetables in between the foam tubes. Flowers can also be put next to the produce that’s been planted.

Your little gardeners will have the best time ever planting the fruits and veggies and then harvesting their crops when they’re nice and ripe! This activity not only promotes imaginative play, but teaches kids the basics of gardening. Plus, the colorful produce will look great outside next to your children’s playhouse.
