I would not recommend it to people I care about
My product had factory defects, and also there is a big design flaw in the RED Footholds.
When fully assembled it was out of alignment so that part of the core structure is not seated properly decreasing stability and is a concern for safety.
The RED Footholds do not have the nuts already in them which is painfully difficult because once you do seat the nut then you have to hold the foothold sideways and the nut wants to fall out. You're doing all this while trying to apply pressure from the opposite sides with a nut driver tool. Also the bolts are too short and one one of mine it wouldn't even catch the thread of the nut so it wouldn't install.

Excellent item Kids love it
Very easy to install,... until you get to the wall climber pieces. The nuts and tiny washers are not easy to get into and remain in the indented hole while you try to thread the bolt through the plastic piece and threaded into the nut. It's almost as if the bolts need to be 1/4" longer. Also it's not mentioned in the directions that you will need a 7/16" socket and socket wrench. Other than what I have mentioned this is a great product and my Kids love it!

Our Kids LOVE This Climber!
*Disclosure- We were sent this item at no cost to facilitate a review on my blog, Thrifty Nifty Mommy. I was not required to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.*We LOVE this climber/slide. I have two children (ages 21 months and almost 4 years) and they both have really enjoyed it. They love all of the different climbing options and, of course, the slide. We've had hours of fun on it already and I'm sure they will be having fun on it all spring/summer long!

Almost perfect, except for the cap nuts
This climber is AMAZING, my 17 month old daughter instantly LOVED it. The only negative, and reason for the 4 starts instead of 5 is the holes meant to fit the cap screws snuggly are to large and make it impossible to get the necessary resistance using the ratchet. We had to use needle nose pliers to hold the nyts in place. It took 2 of us and a LOT more time and patience than should be necessary. The rest of the assembly was a breeze and we still highly recommend the product. Just make sure your patience level is high for assembly.

A Fun Climber in a League of it's Own...
As a 2014 Step2 Brand Ambassador, my family gets to test out many of the newest offerings from Step2, and the Alpine Ridge Climber & Slide was at the top of our wish list for the Spring. Problem is, Spring has been slow to arrive, so when the folks at Step2 had one of these sent to my state-of-the-art toy testing facility (our house and yard), there was still four feet of snow on the ground and I had to stash the box in the garage for several weeks, much to the dismay of my girls. But now the snow is gone, and while the temperatures aren't exactly "warm," we've got our climber set-up, and let me tell you - it's a big hit.A unique offering in this category of toys, the Alpine Ridge Climber & Slide is perfect for kids that may have outgrown some smaller models, but the size is right that it's big - but not too big for the yard. The little nooks and grips really capture the feel of those climbing walls that my little ones love, but here we have it in a safe, home-friendly version.Add in all the cool tunnels and hiding spots, and this climber/slide goes beyond just physical play, and opens up new worlds of imaginative play. Is it a Castle? A Fort? The place where the Fairies live? A Mountain Lodge? Is the slide a ramp for toy cars? The answer is simple: it's whatever imagination wants it to be.Highly-recommended.I should also note that assembly should be handled by two people.

Awesome Climber!
My son received this for his 2nd birthday, and we haven't been able to get him off of it ever since. I love that there is so many levels and things to do. He loves pretending he's on a pirate ship with the look out.

Assembly Does Not Require Two People
5'3 mom of two, read the instructions, ignored them and started on the accessories first: foot holds, binoculars, wheels. I straddled the pieces together, knee holds and elbow grease, did it all by hand with no drill. You can do it skipper!
