Customer ReviewsRated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Best present for a budding artist! I just bought this for my grandsons 5th birthday. He uses the dry erase board to practice his alphabet and numbers. We write them and he traces the letters and then writes them by himself to the side. He loves to color his Scooby Doo pictures, cuts them out and pastes them on to construction paper. He stores his special crayola markers on the wheel with the five holes and regular markers and dry erase markers at the top. He has storage for his construction paper, drawing paper glue stick, safety scissors, crayons, paints, books and coloring books. The light works better than I thought it would after reading some reviews before I bought the art desk.Date published: 2011-02-11Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great item I got this for my 5 in a half year old old son to do artwork and school work and it works just great!!! I am a single mom and something i have a hard time getting together and this was so easy!! The stool that comes with it is very sterdy and even i can sit in it!! This was worth every penny...not that it costed all that much, that was also a good thing!! It was a great deal allthe way around!! We love it! The only bad thing was the light that came with it it wasnt so easy to put on so we just left it off because it really wasnt needed.Date published: 2010-03-12Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from great desk this is a great desk. i set up my basement with centers, and i used the other step 2 art desk as an art desk for both kids, and i set up this desk as a kind of discovery/science center. my 5 year old is into experiments and stuff like that. i love this desk, it has lots of room and it will grow with them, will probably serve as a homework desk for a few years. i love the compartment under the desktop, its like a secret and even better, the 1 year old doesnt get into it. i like this better than the double desk, more compartments, but the double is great for the 5 and 3 year olds to work together. all in all, a great desk.Date published: 2008-07-08Rated 4 out of 5 by Teacher and Mom from My son LOVES it! My three year old son made a bee-line for this desk on Christmas morning. He loves his "big-boy art desk" and especially enjoys turning on the little overhead light by himself. I love the deep wells on both sides of the desk as the hold lots of coloring books and paper. I would have given it 5 stars but for the difficult assembly. Instead of pre-drilled holes, there were only dimples in the plastic where the screws were supposed to enter. To secure the top piece, I also used longer screws that I had at home instead of the ones included to hold it together more tightly. Overall, though, I really love the look and functionality of this product! My son would definitely agree!Date published: 2010-01-06Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great Desk!!! This desk is perfect, even though we're not using it as a desk right now.We purchased it as a gift for our 3 year old & 15 month old grandsons. We purchased a Step 2 Kitchen to keep at our our house and the boys loved the kitchen so much that I ordered the desk to use as a store. The storage is great! - We use small bins to hold plastic food, and we put play moneyand a small cash register on top of the white lift-up part of the desk. I used a small amount of museum hold under the lift-up part since they don't use it as a desk yet. We also bought a STEP 2 Shopping Cart which is great - very steady.Date published: 2011-01-02Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Excellent Desk I love everything about Step 2! They have amazing products, great customer service and the product always arrives quickly. We bought this desk for our 5 year old for Christmas. We had the same desk for our oldest 8 years ago and knew the product was great. The directions were simple to follow and the desk was together in under 10 minutes. Our son loves all of the cubby holes for coloring books and paper and all the spots for his markers and art supplies. Made wonderfully and just as perfect as I remembered. I highly recommend this product and all step 2 products. We will continue to purchase for many years.Date published: 2017-01-06Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great for creative kids! We got this exact same desk 3 years ago for our older son who is now 6. He uses it almost everyday to color and create! Our younger son was always standing beside him trying to use it too. It worked for a while, but we just recently got one for our younger son who is 3. They both love sitting side by side and coloring at their own desks!! The ONLY thing that is different about the new one is that it came with a stool instead of a chair. The stool is much shorter than the chair was and our 3 year old has trouble reaching his desk. He prefers to stand. But I'm sure in a year it will be the perfect size. NO BIG DEAL! The desks itself is ideal for ages 2-7! Thanks for a great product for our kids!Date published: 2010-01-11Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great Product. [...] This desk is exactly what I was envisioning for my daughter who is almost four. It has ample storage for books, coloring books, papers etc. I love the little write-on/wipe-off cover that lifts up for more storage on the desk. Assembly is very easy and all the pieces are lightweight. [...] I expect my daughter to get a ton of use out of this, at least for storage. I haven't seen her sit too long on the stool, she ends up standing, or sitting on the floor. So not sure if it's because the stool isn't comfortable or if it's just her age. Great product, tho and definitely recommend it.Date published: 2010-01-11
